Lance Henriksen and Judd Nelson?  Sign me up! Despite the low ratings and the lack of views, I decided to give this one a shot. With a made for Sci-Fi channel feel, it surprisingly held my interest.  Somewhere around the middle it lost its charm. Predictable in every way, it's pretty much what you would expect from a haunted ship movie.   It's a decent way to kill some time on a rainy day or for the middle of your next Lance Henriksen marathon but I wouldn't waste energy  petitioning  for the Blue-Ray release.  On a side note, and this seems to be a trend in haunted (house, boat, hotel, etc.) / ghost movies: where a character has a hallucination (caused…

I think this movie was lit with table lamps? Was almost a half star but then Judd Nelson had this Steve Urkel “Did I do that?” moment that actually made me giggle.  This movie brings me to having watched 13% of Henriksen’s movies. There’s no way I’ll even make it to 25%

A made-for-TV haunted boat movie, which could have been real fun but was pretty dull. And whoever was the lighting director on this should have been fired. The whole thing is just so obnoxiously dark.

Nothing that happens in this movie from start to finish matters or makes sense. You could easily re-edit this movie into an unambitious, mundane, maybe even boring-in-a-good-way short film about two middle-aged people who share a vague interest in The Bermuda Triangle but whose separate professional lives similarly refuse to accommodate or enable their equal obsession with TBT and who then go out to dinner together. I'm not saying someone should do this or that I will , but rather that it is simply possible.

Pretty entertaining, surprisingly. I love the CG rendered exterior shots of the ship. Straight up looks like Wetwork from CoD:4. A pretty decent part of the plot reminded me of the first Uncharted game, also. Now that I think about it, Lost Voyage  was way ahead of its time. Judd Nelson ssssuuuccckkkkssss.

I appreciated some of the PS2 style CGI ghosts, but damn this thing was boring.  Barely anything happens, and the climax of the film is hardly satisfying. But that being said, my gf and I got some pretty good laughs from it all.

Overall, skip it.

Review by Goremaster ★★★

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Lost Voyage is the typical story of a group of people who investigate an abandoned mean of transportation, fall victim to their own fears and die one by one. The list is long: Star Trek 5, Sphere, Event Horizon, the pioneer Solaris and many others.

The difference is that this one isn't about a spaceship or submarine, but a ship, like in "Ghost Ship" and "The Final Countdown". In the latter the plot also took place in the Bermuda Triangle.

The movie is good and features a nice cast with a great performance of Lance Henricksen. It stands out for the fantastic ending with a ghost attack on the ship, compensating for some dull parts and the last unnecessary scene.

The film ends up not explaining exactly why the ship disappeared and reemerged, preferring to leave the end open for a possible sequence that didn't and probably won't come.

Titanic Survivors' Family Rips Billionaire's Voyage Plan At OceanGate Site

A relative of two Titanic survivors blasted an Ohio billionaire's plan to take a $20 million submersible to explore wreckage of the ship after the fatal OceanGate exploration that took place last year.

Real estate investor Larry Connor revealed his partnership with Triton Submarines co-founder Patrick Lahey to take a two-person submersible more than 12,400 feet below sea level in an effort to prove that the goal of the doomed OceanGate mission can be achieved during an interview with the Wall Street Journal earlier this month. Shelley Binder , the descendant of Titanic survivors Leah and Phillip Aks , told the Sun that the resting place of the sunken ship should be left undisturbed, especially after the OceanGate attempted exploration that resulted in five deaths last June.

“For generations, people who have the money are going to spend it doing things to prove their machismo and appease their sense of adventure, but does that mean they should?” Binder asked.

“Fundamentally, I think one could say these people have more dollars than sense,” she added. “And the idea of tourism to a wreck where 1,496 people lost their lives in a truly horrific disaster of epic proportions is offensive.

“What happened aboard that ship was extremely traumatic and harrowing for my great-grandmother and great-uncle. This was a devastating and landmark moment in their lives, and it had long-lasting repercussions for my entire family.”

OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush and all four others onboard Titan submersible were killed in an imploded last June. The submersible -- which differs from a submarine as it relies on outside support, rather than renewing its own power and breathing air -- offered passengers an up-close experience to explore the Titanic wreckage in the Atlantic Ocean for $250,000 and was only the third mission hosted by OceanGate Expeditions since initially being offered in 2021.

The Titan was reported to have reached 3,800 meters "as few as 13" of the 90 attempted dives, according to a four-page liability waiver signed by a would-be passenger, which referred to the submersible as "experimental" three times.

Pope Francis writing document on Sacred Heart of Jesus to renew a world that’s ‘lost its heart’

lost voyage

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Francis announced that he is preparing a document on the Sacred Heart of Jesus to “illuminate the path of ecclesial renewal, but also to say something significant to a world that seems to have lost its heart.”

The document is expected to be released in September, he said, and will be part of ongoing celebrations marking the 350th anniversary of the first apparition of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. The celebrations began Dec. 27 and are scheduled to end June 27, 2025.

The pope made the announcement during his general audience in St. Peter’s Square June 5. The Catholic Church traditionally dedicates the month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the solemnity of the Sacred Heart will be celebrated June 7 this year.

The document will include reflections from “previous magisterial texts” and it will aim to “re-propose to the whole church this devotion laden with spiritual beauty. I believe it will do us much good to meditate on various aspects of the Lord’s love,” the pope said.

Meanwhile, in his main audience talk, Pope Francis continued a new series on the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the church, particularly in how the Holy Spirit leads God’s people to meet Jesus, the source of Christian hope.

The Biblical name of the Holy Spirit is “ruach” in Hebrew, which means breath, wind or spirit, he said.

The image of wind expresses the power of the divine Spirit, he said, and Jesus highlighted its freedom to blow and go where it wants.

“The wind is the only thing that absolutely cannot be bridled, cannot be ‘bottled up’ or put in a box,” he said. “To pretend to enclose the Holy Spirit in concepts, definitions, theses or treatises, as modern rationalism has sometimes attempted to do, is to lose it, nullify it or reduce it to the human spirit.”

A similar temptation in the church is the attempt “to enclose the Holy Spirit in canons, institutions, definitions. The Spirit creates and animates institutions, but he himself cannot be ‘institutionalized’” or turned into an object, the pope said.

The freedom Jesus offers with his Spirit is special, he said. It has nothing to do with the selfishness of being free to do what one wants, but it is “the freedom to freely do what God wants! Not freedom to do good or evil, but freedom to do good and do it freely, that is, by attraction, not compulsion. In other words, the freedom of children, not slaves.”

True freedom is choosing to serve “in love and joy,” he said. And it is “a commitment to grow in the truth revealed by Christ and to defend it before the world,” he said in his greeting to Polish-speaking pilgrims.
