Rino (the owner) and Jovana were waiting for us at the airport in Kotor and we jumped straight into a very comfy and clean van for the 2.5 hour drive to the mountains. Right away it was clear we were in great hands! Both Rino and Jovanna were genuinely friendly, fun, very chatty and articulate, and highly knowledgeable about the country, culture, history, and the various places we visited. Rino is an incredibly skilled and safe driver, by the way. They were also really flexible... making tweaks to our itinerary based on our wishes, such as making unplanned stops for meals , finding some local live music venues, and so on. A really nice quality was that they provided a perfect balance of accompanying us for some things e.g. some dinners, and leaving us to our own tricks when we were happy to do our own thing. None of us have really been on a managed tour/trip before, so it was nice not to have to think about anything for once. Everything was so easy! They had arranged a clean and comfy house for us to stay in Zabljak which was our base for the week. They set us up for daily breakfasts in a nearby restaurant and came with us for dinner about half the nights. Every day worked out really nicely.. they would pick us up in the morning for the short drives (30 minutes, max) to the trailheads or to the rafting... they were great company on the hikes (and at meals etc) as well as being great guides. When we wanted to be independent, they gave us tips on directions , routes, trails etc. We did a mixture of hikes, all many hours long which is what we'd asked for when we booked. The ultimate hike was to the summit of Bobatov Kuk, the highest peak in Montenegro. Pretty challenging but so rewarding.. the scenery was magnificent wherever we went! We also had time to do some local stuff on our own such as hiking through the forests to take a dip in Snake Lake or chill at the cafe for sunset at the Black Lake. It couldn't have been better and we'll never forget the experience and we'll never forget the wonderful hosts/guides we had in Rino and Jovanna. Read more Written August 1, 2023

Spectacular scenery, extremely safe and well looked after on our trip down the river. Amazing jumping into icy cold water and floating about. A special shout out to Rino who is probably the safest driver we have ever had. On our way back to kotor a car on the opposite side of the road ended up on ours going full speed. Rino did not lose his cool and calmly moved to avoid without making us tumble into the fairly steep precipice on our side. Could not recommend Rino and this tour highly enough. We beat the cruise crowds and were treated to an amazing historical tour of the city of Perast as well as Our Lady of the Rocks Church. Our guide Biljiana was knowledgeable, professional and even gave us a special treat from her pastry shop, Dolcezza when she found out we were celebrating a birthday! Highly recommend this tour! They were truly dedicated to making sure we had the best time possible and were flexible with what we wanted to do. We visited incredible places, such as Lady of the Rocks, old town of Perast, Porto Montenegro and Porto Novi marinas. We had enough time to enjoy swimming in pristine waters of Adriatic Sea. • asmasmasm83 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Unforgettable kayaking and fishing experience The best kayak renting we had in Kotor Bay Area. We have tried in couple of other places but the double kayaks here were really good : fast and stable on water (we were doing about 12-15 km each day) without pain in the back as before. The prices were also very good. Also you can return the kayak quite late as you like: couple of times we were coming after 8 pm.. We highly recommend to rent the kayak Another day we went fishing on the motor boat: it was a great experience. Even if you are a complete beginner , you will be given everything you need for authentic see fishing. The hosts are very friendly and easy to go, highly recommend !! We were well fed with 2 meals provided per day; quite a few at the affiliated restaurant in Kotor. Excellent, spacious accommodations in great locations. We were lucky to have the owner, Rino, as our guide for some of the trip but all of the other company representatives were welcoming and professional. The guides spoke relatively good English although a couple of the drivers had much more limited language facility. Highly recommended. Read more Written November 27, 2019

I was so fortunate to have Sanja as my guide to the peninsula of Lustica for a family visitation and to learn about the ancient olive production process. She took me to all the best sites for panoramic views then we met the most sweet and charming family at their home to learn more. While this excursion doesn't seem to be offered directly from their site, they must have been contracted out via the Shore Excursions Group's Ancient Olives of Montenegro tour. If you don't want to do climbing or swimming excursions, this was an excellent option. Read more Written October 27, 2019

It was a rainy and chilly day but the tour was excellent and the country is beautiful. We rode to the town of Perast in a small group with another family and took a boat to Our Lady of the Rocks island and church. Toni was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about the history. We very much enjoyed our time there and especially found the artwork interesting. After our tour in Perast, we had time for a coffee and they had us back at the dock in plenty of time to return to our ship. We would definitely use Adventure Montenegro again if we are so fortunate to be able to return. Read more Written September 13, 2019

We were told to walk around 20-30 mins to the other side of the bay where we could meet a member of the team. For the reasonable price of €25 (full day hire) we were on our way and spent a few hours, kayaking near to Perast (which was as far as recommended). We took food and drinks and there were not many visible shops from the water. The service was friendly and english spoken well. Read more Written May 17, 2019
  • JulietteB278 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Interesting tour with a knowledgeable (and super nice) guide Just did a day tour to the Lovcen National Park with Rino. He was a great guide, not only giving us a lot of info about what we were seeing, but also delving into the region’s very complicated history, giving us random botanical facts about wild asparagus and just being a fun human to be around. The views from the Mausoleum were great and we then had a nice walk through the forest up to the site of a now abandoned village. I was initially a bit confused as I thought the tour was going to be more of a hike, but i still had a great time. Perfect for people who want a great view without breaking too much of a sweat Read more Written May 8, 2019

Not only that the scenery was so beautiful, what makes the biggest difference is the operators. They are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable of all the adventure possibilities of the whole area. They gave us special "insider's tips" to go see some endemic giant scallops, gave us useful information about the area, and went the extra mile to help us with other things we needed. The kayaking trip was really fun and the experience with them was so enjoyable because I could see he truly enjoyed working with visitors and was very attentive to our needs. 5 fun boat tours to do in kotor, montenegro.

Kotor in Montenegro is one of the most beautiful coastal cities along the Adriatic coast. It’s famous for being a UNESCO World Heritage site and you’ll often see many cruise ships stop by the bay. The bay is absolutely beautiful, so going on a boat tour in Kotor is for obvious reasons one of the most popular activities to do.

Out of the many things to do in Kotor , one of the highlights for us are the boat tours that you can do in and around the bay. There are some iconic places to visit where lots of these boat tours go such as Lady of the Rocks, Mamula Island, Blue Cave, and Submarine Tunnel.

In this post, we have listed 5 different options to help you choose which boat tour in Kotor fits your schedule and your interests. All 5 of the tours are quite unique and depart from Kotor so you have some great options to pick from!

#1 Kotor Blue Cave & Lady of the Rocks Boat Tour

kotor kayak tour

  • ⛵️  Book  your Kotor Blue Cave & Lady of the Rocks boat tour on  GetYourGuide
  • ⏰  Time:  Roughly 3 hours
  • 💸  Cost:  €43 to €48

This is an action-packed boat tour in Kotor! Three hours may not seem like much but in three hours you’ll be able to see a bunch of the sights around Kotor and even a few of the most famous sights in all of Montenegro.

First, you’ll pass by the Our Lady of the Rocks and the church that sits on the man-made island. After that, you’ll make your way to the famous Blue Cave where you’ll have time to go for a swim in the water. In our opinion, this is the best part of the whole tour!

The Blue Cave isn’t accessible otherwise so it’s really cool to come out there by boat and go for a swim in this awesome cave. Of course, it’ll be a little busy since most of the boat tours in Kotor come here but it’s big enough for quite a few people to enjoy.

After your swim in the cave, you’ll have a chance to sail out to the end of the bay where you can see Mamula Island which was used as a prison during WW2 . These days, it has been transformed into a 5-star hotel !

For being a 3-hour trip you really do get to see and do a lot on this boat tour . For the price of the tour this is definitely one of the best boat tours you can do here in Kotor.

Book your Kotor Blue Cave & Lady of the Rocks Boat Tour here.

#2 Kotor Full Day Cruise to Boka Bay

kotor kayak tour

  • ⛵️  Book  your Kotor full-day Boka Bay day cruise on  GetYourGuide
  • ⏰  Time:  Roughly 8 hours
  • 💸  Cost:  €54

This boat tour in Kotor gives you a full day out in the water exploring the Bay of Kotor and the surrounding areas. On this tour, you’re also going to see all the iconic sights but you will spend more time at each one. There will also be more time to spend swimming in the gorgeous blue water and soaking up the sun that always shines on the Adriatic Coast.

You’ll be sailing around Mamula Island and seeing the old prison, as well as visiting the Our Lady of The Rocks and stopping by the Blue Cave for a nice swim and hang out.

For lunch, the tour stops at Porto Montenegro where you’ll enjoy a nice meal (not included in the tour price) in this beautiful coastal town. After that, you’ll head back out on the water for some more sightseeing and adventuring. Maybe even another dip in the ocean if you’re up for it.

Then on the way back to Kotor, you’ll be able to take in all the views. The trip back to Kotor is one of the most beautiful scenes because you have this beautiful coastal city with these stunning mountains as a backdrop directly behind it. You really can’t beat this view!

Book your Kotor Boka Bay day cruise here.

Fun fact: On this tour, you’ll get the chance to try out rakija shots which is a special Serbian liquor enjoyed all throughout the Balkans.

#3 Bay of Kotor Kayak Tour

kotor kayak tour

  • ⛵️  Book  your Bay of Kotor kayak tour on  GetYourGuide
  • ⏰  Time:  2.5-3 hours
  • 💸  Cost:  €35

It’s not only boat trips in Kotor you do! You can actually kayak in Kotor as well and it is so much fun! This is a very unique way to see Kotor and if you’re adventurous and love to get out and do things on your own you will absolutely love this kayak tour.

On this kayak tour in Kotor , you’ll get to cruise around the Bay of Kotor and experience the beautiful water and the sights around the bay. During the trip, you’ll have time to relax by the beach and hang out for a bit. You can even take a dip into the sea to cool off, especially during the summer months!

One of the coolest things about kayaking in Kotor is that you can get up close to the houses built by the sea. Usually, the guide will share some stories about some of the brave sailors that built these beautiful houses during the Venetian Rule. So these houses go way way back and it’s truly fascinating to see.

You add the fact that you’re in one of the most beautiful bays in the world and you have one of the best kayak tours you can ever imagine. Boat tours and kayak tours in Kotor are quite different. Even if you do a boat tour you can still enjoy a kayak tour since it is two completely different experiences. So if you have the time, we recommend doing both a boat tour and a kayaking tour!

#4 Kotor Perast Old Town Boat Tour

kotor kayak tour

  • ⛵️  Book  your Kotor to Perast Old Town day cruise on  GetYourGuide
  • ⏰  Time:  2 hours
  • 💸  Cost:  €25 to €28

This is another unique boat tour in Kotor since you’ll visit the Old Town of Perast which not too many boat tours do. Most of the trip is quite similar to the ones mentioned above where you’ll cruise around Boka Bay and see the famous Lady of The Rocks church on the small little island.

What makes this tour different is that after all that, you will make your way to the coastal town of Perast. Perast is another UNESCO heritage site and home to some incredible architecture. Enjoy an ice cream or a beer in Perast while taking in the views of the towers, churches, and baroque palaces.

After seeing Perast, you will slowly cruise back towards Kotor while admiring the views of the mountains surrounding this beautiful city. This Perast Old Town day cruise is only 2 hours long but you are sure to get to see a lot in those two hours.

Book your Kotor to Perast Old Town day cruise here.

#5 Kotor Stand-up Paddle Board Tour

  • ⛵️  Book  your Kotor SUP tour on  GetYourGuide

Last, but certainly not least, on this list is SUP in Kotor! Stand-up paddle boarding has become a huge trend around the world in the past few years. Why not try it in one of the most beautiful places in the world?

This 2-hour SUP tour in Kotor obviously doesn’t take you as far as the boat tours do but you do get to see more of the coastline around Kotor and all the beaches nearby. Plus it’s really fun!

This trip is more of a relaxing SUP trip where you’ll cruise around the coast and the guide will share some information about Kotor and its history. You definitely don’t have to be an expert at paddleboarding. Your guide will give you some tips and tricks to stand and paddle on it.

We love adventures and trying new things so that’s why something like a SUPing around Kotor is probably one of the best tours you can do. It’s different and unique and you actually get to do a sport while seeing somewhere new which is really cool.

If you have the time we’d recommend combining a boat tour of Kotor with a SUP tour since they’re both two totally different experiences.

Book your Stand-up Paddle Board tour in Kotor here.

bay-of-kotor-montenegro-red-white-adventures

As you can see, there is a great variety of boat trips in Kotor and other fun water activities you can do. Most of the tours will stop by the same places but they each offer something unique.

The Bay of Kotor itself is stunning so just being out on the water and looking back at Kotor and the mountains in the distance is awesome. Montenegro has so much history and you learn a lot about it from the local guides on these boat tours which is really fascinating.
