Gin Tour and Tasting

We booked a group tour as part of a Christmas present, a nice small group was on the tour. Alex was a really great guide on the history of gin in Maidstone and explaining the distilling process. We was greeted with a double G&T and enjoyed the mini cocktail and gins we tried! We even stayed at the bar after the tour for another cocktail to enjoy!

Bought tickets for the tour as a Christmas present- the distillery itself is small but everyone is friendly and welcoming. The tour guide Alex, was knowledgeable and made the history lesson fun. Good gin to try and toffee liquor was delicious. A really nice place to Siena a couple of hours.

Had a fabulous time at their Cocktail Masterclass last night. We made 3 delicious cocktails, all expertly demonstrated and explained by the very lovely Alex. Accompanying canapés were delicious. Definitely recommend to others 🍸.

We booked our tour for a birthday celebration. Our tour group was small and it felt like a very personal experience. It was a very interesting tour and we got to try the different gins that are being produced here. We really enjoyed it, and even returned for a drink in the bar later in the day. It was very clean and we were made to feel very welcome, with any question we had, willingly answered. Would visit again!

The distillery trip was a gift for my 50th Birthday. Excellent experience with the opportunity to sample all of the different gins they hand make on site. Excellent value for money based on drinks given and the historical experience Thank you for the time taken. Not rushed at all

A friend recommended we try the Maidstone Gin Distillery and we weren't disappointed. I booked a tour for my husbands 40th. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who offered a complimentary choice of a large gin & tonic or a non alcoholic drink. Naturally we went for the first option & were handed the signature 'George Bishop' gin..their dry gin which was my favourite of the day. The tour comprised of 12 of us and our hands were hardly ever empty...with a few tasters of the renowned gins & heavenly toffee liquor to try plus a refreshing tonic too. 'Kate' the name given by the staff to the beautiful cooper kettle, voluptuous in all her glory was the heart of the distillery. Her workings explained and the history of Maidstone Gin uncovered, this gem in the centre of the town is worth the visit.

My husband and I went on the gin tour at the weekend and had a great time! My husband who is not a big fan of gin was even converted by the end of it Both tour guides were really informative and friendly. I am just about to order the toffee liquor, can’t believe how amazing it tasted!

We were gifted the tour as a birthday treat and were so happy with the whole experience. Staff on our tour - 9/10/21 were very knowledgeable and made the whole experience interesting and fun. The gin tasting was amazing and drink on arrival large! We were given a cocktail half way through the tour another 2 at the end! Drinks served in beautiful glasses (we bought 2 ). The size of the groups are small and this makes it more personal and easier to hear and see everything. The ladies taking our tour were funny and friendly and gave us lots of local history of Maidstone and how important Gin is to the area. Venue is lovely too, nice architecture and atmosphere, we went on the 4.45 tour which was the perfect time for us as it started off the evening nicely. We stayed for another drink after. We would highly recommend this experience and would possibly go again or buy a tour as a gift.

Excellent experience, from gin on arrival, tutorial on Gin and its history, Cocktails mid way and Gin at the end….. the gin making experience is so good- you leave with a gin you crafted yourself. Knowledgeable staff (owner supervised the whole process) .

Great evening - was bought a gin making experience for a birthday present . One of these places that have always walked past and never noticed but wish we had done before ! Darren showed great knowledge when showing the group what to do and made it a really pleasant evening . The gin was great ! Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic drinks available, served by friendly and accommodating staff. An amazing building, full of history which you can find out even more about on a tour of the distillery and tutored gin tasting. All in all a great place to visit.

We are reinstating the tradition of Maidstone pioneer and Master Distiller, George Bishop, who created quality and world-renowned spirits from our county town back in 1785.

We’re new, but our roots are built on a rich heritage of spirit making in Maidstone.

We distill 3 signature gins plus our Sharps Toffee Liquer in our beautiful distillery in the heart of Maidstone.

Join us on a tour of our award-winning distillery and let us immerse you in our world for 90 minutes of spirited fun.

We are proud of our sustainability efforts, we use 100% green energy, only plastic free packaging and partner with local charity Plantlife who benefit from sales of our Ranscombe Gin, which uses botanicals foraged from their Nature Reserve.
