Björk Announces Revival of Cornucopia Concert Tour and Theatrical Production
Icelandic artist and icon Björk announced that she will continue her Cornucopia world tour in 2023 with a series of arena shows across Southern Europe, Australia, Japan and the U.S.
Cornucopia debuted in 2019 as the tenth concert tour and first theatrical production by Björk. It was rolled out over eight non-consecutive days at Manhattan’s The Shed culture center, marking one of the first shows performed at the venue, which opened in April of that year. The project showcased her studio album Utopia. For the production, Björk experimented as much with staging as she did with sound with shows featuring live support from the flute group Viibra and a 50-person choir, as well as dynamic digital and analog visuals.
In a statement, Björk shared her intentions for the future of the production. She wrote,“cornucopia was always intended to be a world for both Utopia and the album after that, which is now out there called Fossora [released Sept. 30, 2022] … . so i am truly excited to premier those 2 worlds colliding, this autumn in southern Europe.”
The 2023 iteration of Cornucopia will premiere in March with a four-show residency in Perth, Australia, followed by orchestral performances in Japan. Björk is also slated to perform an orchestral show on Coachella’s festival stage in April.
The official tour will begin in Lisbon, Portugal, on Sept. 1 and will include performances in Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Germany, and Switzerland. The concert series will conclude back in France on Dec. 5.
View the full performance schedule below. Tickets for Cornucopia 2023 will be available on Friday, Feb. 3, and can be purchased here .

Last night, November 13th, Icelandic avant-garde pop artist and absolute icon, Björk, kicked off her 2019 European and UK Cornucopia Tour in Brussels, Belgium. She brought her "sensory feast" to Forest National and her fans were treated to what Björk describes as her “most elaborate stage concert yet."
Earlier in the year, she introduced the shows with a series of warm up sets in New York City and then a short tour in Mexico, and attendees all learned a lesson in extravagance, which exuded in every way via performance and production.
The show is prefaced with gorgeous bird sounds, and a special performance by the Hamrahlid Choir before the show starts. The stage design was created by Filmmaker Lucrecia Martel, offering intricate and lush stage props, vivid projections, and a 360-degree sound for an immersive experience. Picture entering a beautiful Narnia meets Fern Gully meets Avatar universe... Yet that doesn't even begin to describe the effort Björk put into her show.
The 19-song setlist is beautifully weaved together as it offers songs that are career spanning but more importantly, follow a flow. The flow is very on brand with her sound from Vespertine, Medulla and her last album release, Utopia. She opens the show with "The Gate," "Utopia," and "Arisen My Senses" off of that new album.
She also works in "Show Me Forgiveness," "Venus as a Boy," "Isobel" and "Blissing Me" before an interlude flute solo (from tape). Her backing band boasts flute septets, harpists, percussionists and she herself spends some time inside a reverb chamber, giving her the power to manipulate her own vocals in a myriad of ways.
Embedded content is no longer available.
After the flute solo, she does songs like "Hidden Place," "Mouth's Cradle," a partial rendition of "Pagan Poetry" and ends the main set on "Tabula Rasa." But that's not the end of the performance, as an encore IS gifted, but not before an important message by Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg (from tape), something new Björk has added in. As for the encore? She does "Future Forever" and "Notget."
The Cornucopia setlist has remained the same all year, so we aren't expecting her to do any change ups on the remainder of her 2019 tour. See the full setlist from opening night right here:

Brant Bjork is pretty much singlehandedly credited with the formation of the stoner rock genre after the release of single “Blues for the Red Sun” with his band Kyuss in 1992. While things may have moved on somewhat with Brant performing solo these days, he is still the king of Stoner Rock and absolutely kills it during any of his performances.
A big sound like Brant Bjork’s requires a big band and a big setup to go with it. The drum lines and guitar riffs are out of this world during one of Brant’s live shows, and his lighting and stage set up are awesomely rock and roll. This guy is as much a rock star today as he was in the early nineties, and there is no way any of his fans would deny this.
Brant’s solo career has been so successful, that he has a multitude of material to select from for a gig. While he may vary the set list here and there, Brant knows that his fans are there for the music they love and he provides them with the performances they’ve been dying to see. “Automatic Fantastic”, “Too Many Chiefs... Not Enough Indians” and “Low Desert Punk” are all standout tracks during a Brant Bjork gig. You’ll remember his show for a long time, but those three tracks will really make a huge impression.
Report as inappropriate
Brant Bjork played Tuesday May 9th, 2017 at The Gov, Adelaide, South Australia. Brant really feels what he plays. He occasionally looks genuinely surprised by his guitar playing! Consequently it's hard not to enjoy the groove laden rock Brant Bjork and his band throw down. Jamming reigns during this set which also featured Sean Wheeler cavorting around for 3 songs. Sean's addition wasn't necessary but he was a bit of fun onstage. I enjoy all the nuisances of a live Brant set, the relaxed vibe, fuzzy grooves, bluesy grooves, pushing his specs back on his face, lyrics delivered like commandments, everything that happens on stage seems to make the gig better.
