Things to keep in mind

From all Dhams available, the Kedarnath trip requires a lot of planning and precautions. Without the right setup, you won’t stand well while you are on your trip.

If you have allergies to horse or pony, or anything else and don’t have the strength to cover the distance while walking, then take a helicopter for easy reach.
It is 5 hours required to reach the temple for normal travelers. So, walk patiently without any hush and bush. Avoid the rush or do not attempt anything that might trigger your gasping.
You should not take any Horse or Pony from Sonprayag. It will raise your time of journey by two hours. It is good to hire a pony from Gaurikund or you can start walking from here too.
Don’t make any attempt or take any risk with your children below 12. It is not a good idea to walk with them due to some weather conditions, sometimes the bright and sunny sky, stormy weather too. Also, oxygen levels are low here.
Doli or Palanquin is the best mode to start your travel with a comfortable vibe. You may be charged 8000 to 10000 Rupees.
BSNL or Jio, or Vodafone-Idea are the networks you should have here in Kedarnath. Best to carry Jio for better coverage.
Should not carry your yatra card.
Carry Aadhar card
Pack your bag light and keep your raincoat, flashlight, water resistant boot, quilted jackets or fleece, windcheater, rucksack, regular medicines, and other important stuff.
Do not carry suitcases.

After early morning 3 AM breakfast, check out from the hotel. Later depart for Sonprayag.
Take the jeep to Gaurikund at your own cost. (it is charged around 30-40Rs per person)
To reach Kedarnath you will have two options. One is by trekking and the other is by Air via Helicopter ( at your own cost ).
Start your trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (by Pony / Doli / Helicopter at your own cost).
The moderate-level trek starts from Gaurikhand and continues to Kedarnath for about 19 km .
Trekkers must take care of their physical fitness before embarking on the trek to Kedarnath as trekkers with cardiovascular problems and respiratory issues are circumvented and avoided for the trek. The high altitude can generate several health issues that can be life-threatening. To enjoy a safe and sound trek, trekkers must attain a fitness certificate from the medical officers. After trekking for around 19 km, we reach Kedarnath in the evening approximately at 7 PM.
Evening aarti offered to Lord Shiva satiates the environment with faith, dedication, and spirituality. Overnight stay at Kedarnath. ( Meals : Unlimited Breakfast and Limited Dinner)
We can bid prayers to the Kedarnath Ji at the time of sunrise . Standing in the queue to offer devotion to Lord Shiva for a few hours is worth the wait.
As soon as we step out of Kedarnath temple, we must start descending to Gaurikund.
Reach Gaurikund and take sharing cab to Soanprayag.
On board our Bus and return to the hotel at Sitapur.

Wake up in the morning freshen up have breakfast.

Later depart for Tungnath temple via Chopta .
Reach Chopta and start trekking to Tungnath temple it is around a 5-6 km trek distance it takes 2-3 hours.
Reach Tungnath temple and do some prayer. Later start the trek to Chandrashiela which is around 1 km from Tungnath temple. Reach Chandrashila and enjoy the 360° view. Later trek down to Chopta. Reach Chopta by 4-5 pm.

After breakfast leave for Badrinath, on the way visit Karanprayag, Vishnuprayag, and Joshimath Narshimha temple .
Reach Badrinath by evening.

Your body should be fit enough to cover the entire trek with the backpacks on your back along with your body weight. That is why proper stamina and strength are needed. Also, trekking is done on uneven multi-terrains and not on smooth paths. So to gain leg strength, perform simple squats.
Flexibility is very important when it comes to trekking. Good flexibility will be an advantage while walking on trails, climbing river crossings, etc. Attain flexibility by simply stretching or doing yoga.
As the Himalayan treks are ascending and descending the slopes, you will need a proper transmission of Oxygen from the lungs and heart to the body muscles. For this, trekkers should have good cardiovascular endurance that can be gained by doing cardio exercises like running, swimming, cycling, etc.

Delhi – Haridwar (By Road 205 Kms)

HARIDWAR: Nestled in the foothills of Shivaliks, Haridwar is a holy place located in Uttarakhand state in India. According to the legend, it is the place where Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath executed sacrament to save his ancestors souls who had rotten because of the nuisance of sage Kapila. Thus, River Ganga dropped on the earth from the locks of Lord Shiva and the holy water of Ganga River rejuvenated the sixty thousand sons of king Sagara. Today, thousands of Hindu devotees visit this place to take a holy dip in Ganga River for salvation of their deceased close ones.

Haridwar – Guptkashi (223 Kms Drive)

We will start our day a bit early in the morning and get ready to drive to Guptkashi. On the way, we will stop for lunch and thereafter, we will continue our drive to Guptkashi. On reaching, check in at the pre-booked hotel. The evening is free for visit to Kashi Vishwnath Temple. you can go for a leisure walk while exploring the beautiful surroundings. GUPTAKASHI : is situated within the Mandakini river valley in the Northern Himalayan range. Located at a height of 1,319 meters (4,330 ft), the place is blessed with salubrious climate. One can witness the stunning views of snow-covered Chaukhamba peak during the morning hours. Also, large magnolia trees locally named as Champa can be seen in the valley. These trees are famous for its sweet scented smell.

GUPTKASHI – SONPRAYAG - KEDARNATH (27 KMS DRIVE + 19 KMS TREK)

Morning drive to Sonprayag, and start the trek to Kedarnath, on reaching Kedarnath check in at Hotel, later Darshan of Kedarnath Ji, overnight stay at Hotel.

Positioning right amidst a wide flat terrain, Kedarnath is a imposing sight that is enclosed with tall snow covered mountains. Built by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, the Kedarnath temple is located nearby to the site of an earlier temple which was constructed by the Pandavas. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. One can witness the big statue of the Nandi Bull standing outside the temple as guard. It is a major highlight of the temple. Rudrapryag – Shri Badrinath (158 Kms)

Morning drive to Badrinath, en-route visit Shri Narshing Temple at Joshimath, and Adi Shankracharya Math, later proceed to Sri Badrinath Ji, check in at Hotel, evening visit Mana Village, Byas Gufa, Bheem Pul, Saraswati River, Ganesh Temple, evening Aarti at Sri Badrinath Temple, overnight stay at Hotel.

It is believed among the peiple that it was placed by Bhim who was the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.

VYAS GUFA (CAVE): Again near the very famous Mana Village, this is a rock-cave and here the Ved Vyas is believed to have written and composed the Mahabharata and other pauranic commentaries.

Badrinath – Rudrapryag (158 Kms)

We will get ready early in the morning to pay a visit to Badrinath Temple. After darshan and offering prayers, we will drive to Rudrapryag for overnight stay.

RUDRAPRAYAG: This place known as the meeting point of two significant rivers known to be Mandakini and river Alaknanda.

TEMPLES: Rudranath and Chamunda Devi, Koteshwar Temple (3 Kms).

Rudrapryag - Rishikesh (133 Kms)

Morning drive to Rishikesh en-route see Devprayag Sangam, later drive to Rishikesh check in at Hotel, evening visit Laxman Jhoola, overnight stay at Hotel.

RISHIKESH: This place is located at 24 Kms. from Hardwar and is further on the laps of the lower Himalayas. Your Badrinath Kedarnath tour package begins in Haridwar/ Dehradun. Arrive at the Dehradun Airport/ Haridwar Railway Station and meet our representative, who'll assist you with a drive to Guptkashi. Upon reaching, check-in at a pre-booked hotel and settle down. In the evening, seek blessings at the Ardhnarishwar Temple. Then, get back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Early in the morning, depart from the hotel and head towards Sonprayag. Upon arriving, complete the medical test before starting the Trek. The trek from Sonprayag to Kedarnath is 19 km long, and Pony or Palki can cover it on a direct payment basis. The guests are advised to carry medicines, toiletries, warm woolens, and clothes for the overnight stay at Kedarnath. Pilgrims have the option to book Puja at Temple online or from a counter situated at Temple. Various Pujas are available like Rudrabhishek Puja, Panchopachaar Puja, Shiv Ashtotari Path, Shiv Namawali etc. Overnight stay will be arranged at Basic Guesthouse which is at walking distance from Kedarnath Temple.

On the third day of your Badrinath Kedarnath tour, get up early, take a bath, and head to the Kedarnath shrine at around 4:45 a.m. Have a Darshan of Lord Shiva, attend the 'Abhishekam', offer sincere prayers in the shrine, and receive Lord Shiva's blessings. You can also prostrate with your head touching the deity, etc. Now, you will be back at the Guesthouse and collect your luggage to start the trek down to Sonprayag. From there, our driver will meet you and escort you to your hotel in Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

Today, have breakfast, check out of the hotel, and get on a drive to Badrinath via Chopta Valley. En route, visit Nandprayag & Vishnu Prayag. Upon reaching Badrinath, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel and unwind. If time permits, you can attend the evening Aarti at Badrivishal Temple. Further, an overnight stay at the hotel.

On the fifth day of your Divine Do Dham Yatra, you visit the Badrinath shrine. After bathing in the Taptkund early in the morning, you make your way to Darshan at the Badrinath Dham. Also known as Badri Vishal, this shrine is one of the five forms of Lord Vishnu. There are other interesting sightseeing spots just within the 3 km of Badrinath shrine, like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund, and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Now, drive back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath, where you can visit the Narsingh Temple on the way. Later, drive back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Further, an overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Post Breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and start with the drive to Rishikesh. On the way, visit Dharidevi Temple, known as the protector of Char Dhams. After the temple visit, drive to Devprayag and visit the confluence of Mandakini & Alakhnanda Rivers "that form the Holy River Ganga" and Raghunath temple. This is one of the 108 divyadesams temple.

Further, continue with a drive to Rishikesh, a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Ganga surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. Here, visit the significant attractions such as Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, and Shivananda Ashram (subject to time permission). Later, get a transfer to Rishikesh Railway Station / Dehradun Airport for your onward journey.

From Jungle Chatti you’ll head to Bheembali to Linchauli and then finally you will reach the Kedarnath temple. If you book a helicopter to reach Kedarnath you will commence your journey from Guptkashi, Phata, or Sersi. However, if you’re undertaking the trek on foot your journey will start from Gaurikund.

Mumbai to Kedarnath distance by road is approximately 1912 kilometers. However, there isn’t any direct road connectivity between Kedarnath and Mumbai. You can take a flight to Dehradun and then board a taxi or cab from Dehradun to reach Kedarnath. Alternatively, you can take a train to Haridwar from Mumbai and then take a taxi or bus from there to reach Kedarnath.

Rishikesh to Kedarnath Distance

You can travel from Rishikesh to Kedarnath via road in approximately 5 hours. By road, Rishikesh to Kedarnath distance is around 216 km and the total aerial distance is approximately 105 km. For aerial travel, there is no direct route so road travel is the only option left.

Best Time for Kedarnath Yatra

The best time for the Kedarnath Yatra is during the summer months when the weather is comfortable and the average temperature ranges around 17 degrees Celsius. May, June, October, and September mark the summer season in Kedarnath. These months are ideal for sightseeing, temple visits, and trekking. However, you should avoid visiting Kedarnath during the monsoon in August and July due to cold winds, heavy rainfall, and increased risk of landslides. Towards the end of October, the Kedarnath temple closes. Winters, from early April to November are very chilly with temperatures going below freezing. How To Reach Kedarnath

Kedarnath is a small town perched in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag District. Till Gaurikund it can be accessed conveniently. From Gaurikund you will have to trek or take Palkies, ponies, or porters to reach Kedarnath. You can also reach Kedarnath by opting for helicopter services from Phata.

By Air: The nearest airport to Kedarnath is the Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun. Dehradun is around 16 km away from Rishikesh and 239 km away from Kedarnath. From Dehradun, you can hire a cab or bus to reach Gaurikund. From here, you’ll have to trek to reach Kedarnath. From New Delhi, you’ll get a direct flight to Dehradun.

By Train: Rishikesh is the nearest railway station to Kedarnath situated at a distance of around 214 km from Kedarnath. Rishikesh station has good connectivity with the major Indian destinations. So Rishikesh is accessible by train from most of the parts of the country. From Rishikesh, you will have to take a cab or bus to Gaurikund.

By Road: The road to Kedarnath ends at Gaurikund. From here you will have to trek for around 16 km to reach Kedarnath. Gaurikund can be accessed easily by both the cabs and the bus. You will get a direct bus from nearby destinations like Delhi, Haridwar, Dehradun, Rishikesh, etc. You can also hire a private taxi to reach Gaurikund. Gaurikund has a good connectivity with Chandigarh and Delhi.

Kedarnath experiences a cold climate throughout the year. So, you must carry warm woolen clothes including thermals, windcheaters, sweaters, jackets, winter caps, gloves, and proper winter footwear.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 dehradun - sersi helipad - kedarnath - guptkashi.

On arrival at Sahastradhara Helipad, we fly to Sersi Helipad then again fly to Kedarnath from same Helipad. Temple is approx. 500 meters away from helipad and will take approx. 15 min to reach. The Pandit will accompany the group and lead us to the VIP darshan in Kedarnath temple. After darshan and Poojan, The group will fly back to Sersi helipad. We will have lunch & Overnight stay at Guptkashi located at the banks of river Mandakini.

Program Summary: - Sahastradhara Helipad to Sersi Helipad - Sersi to Kedarnath - Kedarnath Darshan - In Afternoon coming back to Guptkashi for an Overnight stay

Day 2 Guptakashi - Badrinath

The group is headed towards the Helipad at Sersi Helipad. From the Helipad we proceed to Badrinath. On arrival at Badrinath Helipad, The group will be Check-In to the hotel. After Lunch, we will be going to Mana village, the last border of India with China for sightseeing. At the evening, Passengers will attend Swarna Aarti at Badrinath temple & then dinner and overnight stay at Badrinath.

Travel guidelines, terms and conditions.

FIXED FLIGHT TIMINGS - This is a Daily Fixed Departure Helicopter tour , and all departure timings of each destination is fixed. Therefore, passengers must ensure they report as per the scheduled ETDs on each day of the tour, other-wise they will be considered NO SHOW.

COVID TRAVEL GUIDELINES - COVID protocols shall be adhered by the passengers and Helicopter Company as per the effective mandate of the government. Without adhering to the government guidelines, boarding can be denied to the passengers without refund.

HELICOPTER WEIGHT LIMITATION - Maximum weight capacity of the helicopter is 450 kg (excluding baggage weight). Passengers are taken on board depending up on the load and temperature conditions. Pilots call will be final. Total weight of all passengers on board must be within this limit. Hence, passengers are required to provide us their exact weights at the time of booking.

PASSENGER WEIGHTS - Passengers have to submit their correct weights at the time of booking. If any change in weight found at the time of their travel from the submitted weights, which would exceed our aircraftâs weight carrying capacity of 450 kg, passenger(s) would be deboarded & cancelled for the Heli-tour without any refund.

OVERWEIGHT CHARGES : ON PER SEAT BASIS ONLY - Overweight charges are applicable @ INR 2000/kg. This will be chargeable to passengers weighing above 75 kg. But excess weight (not exceeding helicopterâs -total weight limitation) will only be calculated on the total excess weight above the total permissible weight of all the group members combined, i.e., permissible weight = 75 Kg x (No. of pax).

Furthermore, any discrepancy found in the weights of the passengers, which would be chargeable as per the overweight criteria, the same would be collected prior to boarding of flights.

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE - Only one baggage weighing a maximum of 5 kgs is allowed per passenger. It Is not permitted to carry suitcases or any other luggage bags in the helicopter. Therefore, duffle bags are provided by our staff to all passengers on the day of arrival.

In view of our helicoptersâ limited weight carrying capacity, we reserve the right to shuffle passengers between helicopters to manage the right weight for safe flying in the hills . Therefore, passengers travelling together may not be accommodated in same helicopter flight.

ARRIVAL DATE - Our Chardham 4N5D Heli-tours are booked departure date wise. However, passengers have to arrive Dehradun one day prior to the departure date . Dehradun complimentary night stay which is provided on the arrival date makes our package a 5Night/6Days tour. The actual flying commences from day 02 of the tour.

SEATING CAPACITY - The maximum seating capacity for our helicopters is 06 passengers + 01 Crew.

INFANTS - Infant below 2 years or 12kg are accommodated free of charge. For verification of age the child, ID proof/birth certificate of the child will be checked.

BAD WEATHER & FORCE MAJEURE DISCLAIMER

Flying in hills is subject to bad weather, and many Force Majeure factors like delayed Air Traffic Clearances / Permissions, VVIP movements, valley flying by Indian Air Force (NOTAM), sudden occurrence of technical snag in aircraft, illness of flying crew or late reporting of the passengers at the helipads, among others. Therefore, passengers must be prepared to face any eventuality and inconvenience in case of such scenarios.

- Hotels & rooms are subject to sudden changes. - Rooms are booked on double or triple sharing basis only. - For a separate single occupancy room, it will be extra chargeable @ INR 30,000/person (tax inclusive). - Hotels at all the Dhams are non-star category. However, we have carefully selected the most comfortable & best rated properties for our Heli-tours.

We strongly advise our passengers to keep one additional day at hand , over & above the 2N3D period, to avoid inconvenience in case passengers get stuck at any of the destinations due to bad weather or force majeure scenarios.

Other Terms and Guidelines

Airport transfers will be provided only on the arrival day at Dehradun, and on the last day, i.e., 6th day of the tour.
Any donations, tips, pitthu, palki/pony and porter charges shall be borne by the passengers.
AADHAR Card copies are to be shared by all Indian passengers, & passport in case of foreign nationals.
Helicopter Company has its own crew at all the Dhams. For any guidance or assistance, passengers are free to reach out to them.
Network connectivity at Harsil & Badrinath is very poor. BSNL & Jio are the main telecom services, that work in these regions mostly, but not always. However, our staff shall be with the passengers for assistance at all times.
All temples in Chardham sector are located at high altitude, therefore passengers are advised to carry medication during travel. Also, they are advised to carry heavy woollen clothing with them, because during evenings & nights, the temperature can drop drastically.
MEDICAL EMERGENCIES - We will not be liable for any medical emergency on the ground to the passengers. Therefore, in your own interest, passengers are hereby advised to kindly consult a doctor and get medical check-up done before commencing the yatra. Medical check-up is mainly required if a passenger has any medical ailment or condition.
Patients with psychiatric issues, such as depression or obsessive compulsive disorders or any sort of mental illness, will not be allowed to fly due to safety reasons.
CARRIAGE BY AIR ACT, 1972 - The carriage is subject to Helicopter Company regulations relating to the conditions of Non-International Carriage (Passenger and Baggage) framed in accordance with The Carriage by Air Act, 1972 and Notification regarding application of the carriage which is non-international. The liability of the company for damage sustained in the event of the death or wounding of a passenger or any other bodily injury suffered by passenger or by his registered baggage during the course of carriage by air will be governed by the provisions of sections 4,5,6 and the rules contained in the second Schedule of Carriage by Air Act 1972 with certain exceptions, adaptations, modifications, etc as notified in the Govt. of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation Notification and as amended from time to time.
Helicopter Company reserves the right to cancel passengers, who are unruly, abusive, intoxicated, sick, mentally unfit or anyone else whom we deem to be unsafe to fly. No refund shall be done to such passenger(s).

Our Heli-Tours are not available for the following VIPâs:

- Speaker Lok Sabha - Dy. Chairperson Rajya Sabha - Central Ministers of Cabinet Rank - C J I Supreme Court - Governors of State - Chief Ministers of State - State Ministers of Cabinet Rank - SPG Protectees â Z category only.

RESCHEDULING OF BOOKING

Rescheduling your booking to any future or prior travel date, will be done subject to availability, and on payment of 10% of the total tour cost. This will be permitted only if informed at least 30 days before arrival date.

In case rescheduling is requested less than 30 days prior to the travel date, then the booking would be treated as cancelled, & a fresh booking will be given subject to availability, after the levy of applicable cancellation charges.

PAYMENT TERMS

The booking has to be done in advance with a deposit of 50% of the total amount. Balance payment has to be deposited 14 days prior to the date of arrival at Dehradun. Passengers will not be permitted to board or commence the tour, unless full & final payment of the tour has been done.

FORCE MAJEURE & BAD WEATHER REFUNDS:

Tour Cost: 25% of total tour cost for each unutilized travel sector (Dham), minus INR 15,000 per person toward the flight preparation & ground arrangement charges.

Additional Services : Deduction of any additional services provided at any of the Dhams during the tour of the passengers will be deducted over & above the refundable Tour Cost. Refund against any unutilized service will not be calculated separately and added to the refundable- amount.

COVID-19 Case, or any National/State Emergency:

In case passengers test COVID positive before the travel, or the Yatra gets called-off by the government, or any National or State emergency is imposed, there will be no refunds applicable.

However, passengers will be provided a Credit Voucher by eUttaranchal Travel Network against the advance paid, which will be valid for one year. It can be utilised against any of our helicopter tours or charter services (for the full amount of the credit voucher), by the passengers or any of their friends/relatives.

BAD WEATHER & FORCE MAJEURE POLICIES:

Where bad weather, technical snags or any force majeure reason beyond Helicopter Company control results in the cancellation of your flight being delayed or cancelled, Helicopter Company will not be liable in any way for the cancelled or delayed flight. However, refund will be given to clients as per our refunds policy. Any kind of inconvenience caused because of cancellation of flights is beyond the control of the operator. No compensation or reimbursement for accommodation, transportation, meals or any other extra travel expenses done by the passengers shall be offered in the event of cancellation of a flight.
In case tour departure does not take place from Dehradun on Day One due to above reasons, tour will be considered as cancelled and full refund as per our policies will be made. However, in case the passengers would like to consider taking the tour on the next available date, a fresh booking can be made for the same. Our team will propose the available options to the passengers. The balance/unutilized amount against previous booking can be adjusted against the fresh booking. And any extra costs that would be accruing, will have to be borne by the passengers. In case the tour departs from Dehradun as per schedule but gets disrupted, while the tour is ongoing, our team will propose the possible revised itinerary within the scheduled package days, but without any extension of days.
Any extension, proposed by the passengers, in the package will only be considered at an extra cost and subject to operational viability.
In case for 05 straight days flying does not take place, full refund as per our policies will be made to the passengers.
New Chardham passenger(s) scheduled for departure from Dehradun on any respective travel date shall be our top priority, over the back-log passenger(s) of previous days(s).
Additional night halt charges will be payable by the passengers to hotels on direct payment basis, when they get stuck for additional nights due to bad weather/force majeure reasons.
Helicopter may not fly to Harsil/Jhalla, in case of turbulent wind conditions â which is often in the Harsil valley after 1200 Hrs.
If any passenger(s) require ferry flights to be operated for them in emergency, cost for the same will be charged to the party @ INR 125,000/hr plus GST.
While the tour is ongoing, if any group demands to cancel their tour mid-way, the arrangement of transportation will be done by Helicopter Company , however, cost for the same will be borne by the passengers on direct payment basis.
Any increase in government levies or taxes, after the confirmation of booking, will be extra chargeable to the passengers. Payment against the same will have to be made before the commencement of tour.

Disputes as to legality, interpretation, application or performance of service or any of its terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Uttarakhand Jurisdiction.

Bookings will be taken, considering there is acceptance of the above-mentioned terms & conditions by the party.
