The Metal Alliance Tour featuring Anthrax, Exodus, Municipal Waste, Shadows Fall, and Holy Grail at The Irving Plaza in NYC

anthrax municipal waste tour

Take one part heavy, two parts metal, and all parts thrash, cook with high energy for 6 hours, and you’ll have this years “ Metal Alliance ” tour. Finishing its last two dates in the home state of the tour’s headline band, Big 4 Alumni Anthrax , the alliance has been getting fans old and new alike spinning, jumping and head banging for nearly an entire month.

Quickly selling out a Saturday night at New York City’s Irving Plaza , the tour followed up by etching the following Sunday night at the same venue in to it’s records before closing the books. As I was entering the venue, I could see plenty of fans wanting to enter, but being quickly turned away when they learned the show was sold out. It was surprising to me that Anthrax wouldn’t be booked in a larger venue for their hometown show, but some times the smaller and more intimate venues just work better.

First up to bat for the metal alliance was pure heavy metal band, Holy Grail . The straight up no bones heavy metal band from California , may have had only a few in attendance for their opening set, but those that were there were given a great warm up. Clad in leather and spikes, vocalist James Paul Luna sang clean, loud, and heavy, a sound reminiscent of heavy metal greats Ronnie James Dio and Rob Halford . “ This song is about power, metal and courage, its called Fight to Kill! “, screamed James , the final song of the bands short set. Without asking, a massive circle pit formed, spinning until James’ final wail.

As Holy Grail left the stage, a fun little exit tune, “ Holy grail, holy grail, everybody’s talkin’ ’bout the holy grail! ” played, which had at least me singing along, with a smile on my face and a positive memory of what the band is capable of.

Due to a mix up at the ticket office, I was unfortunately not able to photograph Holy Grail. My apologies to the band.

While sludge metal behemoths High on Fire may have been part of “ the alliance ” for the majority of this tour, for the last few days, they jumped over to Europe , and in their place came melodic death metal band, Shadows Fall .

Having seen Shadows Fall just a few short months ago, I knew what I was in store for. Between front man Brian Fair’s massive dreadlocks spinning and flying in every possible direction, and the band’s tight, melodic metal attack, sounded fresh and alive. With lead guitarist Jonathan Donais preparing to do double-duty that night, as he has been the fill-in lead guitarist for headliner Anthrax the entire Metal Alliance tour, I was worried they would be a bit out of shape, but this was not the case. As more fans piled in to Irving Plaza , they quickly jumped into the mosh that grew as Shadows Fall flew through their set.

Be sure and check out my photo gallery from Shadows Fall here.

During new song, “ Divide and Conquer “, rhythm guitarist Matt Bachard had his microphone brought up to the same levels as Brian’s , as they flawlessly shared powerful lead vocal lines. For their final song, a heavy metal cover of Bob Marley’s “ War “, Brian called out for an “ old school circle pit “, which had plenty of fans spinning until they were dizzy. “ Thanks for coming out, and showing that metal is alive! “, Brian screamed, pleased with a cheering crowd.

“ We are 47 crowd surfs away from a record here at Irving Plaza. Let’s put the security to work New York! ” taunted Tony Foresta , front man and vocalist of Municipal Waste . While the punk/thrash crossover band took the stage, bodies flew over barrier at extraordinary rates, giving the security on barrier duty quite the work out.

Opening with “ Unleash the Bastards “, the short but furious blend of punk rock and metal worked great to keep everyone banging their heads. For, “ You’re Cut Off “, guitarist Ryan Waste exclaimed, “ We have a bunch of songs about drinking and partying, and this one is about when a bartender pisses you off! ” The great reception continued for their entire set, with Tony , Ryan , and bassist Phil Hall , all having great stage banter with each other with themselves and the crowd. Finishing up with “ Born to Party “, Tony thanked the crowd, Anthrax , and “ Our drinking buddies from the west, Exodus! ”

Be sure and check out my photo gallery from Municipal Waste here.

To say I was excited for the next band on the bill, Exodus , would be an understatement. While I’ve seen guitarist Gary Holt a few times live (he has been filling in for Jeff Hanneman with thrash titans Slayer ), it was my first experience seeing the band who is heavily considered to be part of “ the OTHER Big 4 “.

Once they hit the stage, Holt and fellow guitarist Lee Altus brought a shred fest to be reckoned with. Opening with the over 7 minute long, “ The Ballad of Leonard and Charles ” and following with one of my favorites, “ A Lesson in Violence “, the intensity pouring from the band to the crowd and back was through the roof.

Rob Dukes , Exodus’ current lead vocalist, is a big guy, with a voice that is just as big. As he stormed around the stage, banging his head to every snare hit from drummer Tom Hunting , and playing one-handed air guitar with Holt and Atlus during their wicked solos. “ While Exodus may be a bay area band, I grew up right here in New York, ” Dukes mentioned, as they ripped through “ War Is My Shepherd ” and “ Fabulous Disaster “.

Be sure and check out my photo gallery from Exodus here.

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any more crazy, during “ Blacklist “, Dukes grabbed a guitar pick, and gave Holt a cup of beer, which he drank down in its entirety using his right hand, while Dukes riffed away the rhythm line for Holt , as Atlus blitzed through a the lead line with a wicked guitar solo. A true showing of talent, and teamwork if I do say so myself.

“ Bonded By Blood ” was the time for those in the mosh to shine. During it, Dukes called for those in the pit to split down the middle, because it was time for a wall of death. “If you’re on the left side, you’re gonna kill those guys on the right, and if you’re on the right, you’re gonna slaughter the ones on the left, and after that, you’re all gonna get in a circle and become invincible! ” The entire building shook as each side slammed in to one another at Dukes’ command.

Tony Foresta from Municipal Waste jumped on stage during “ The Toxic Waltz “. “ Do the Toxic Waltz! “, Rob , Tony , and the crowd sang together in perfect, brutal, harmony.

Ending with “ Strike of the Beast “, and finally, “ Good Riddance “, the entire band thanked everyone for coming out and hoped they would be back for the next night. Exodus may have only played 9 songs, but it was 9 songs that left nearly everyone in the mosh sweaty and craving water, or at least a few beers. The moshers only had about 40 minutes to gather themselves before the stage was set for headliners, and hometown heroes Anthrax to hit the stage.

Twenty-six years ago, the album Among the Living came out. When that album came out, I was only 14 months old! Since I could barely walk when Anthrax first touring the world in support of the album, all I can do is go back to old bootleg videos to see what things were like back then.

Let me tell you, for a group of guys in their late 40s and early 50s, Anthrax still has the stage presence that they did when they were in their mid 20s.

Flying out to the stage came bassist Frank Bello , drummer Charlie Benante , vocalis t Joey Belladonna , Shadows Fall lead guitarist (and now donning an Anthrax button up shirt) Jonathan Donais , of course, the legendary Scott Ian . Immediately the band bursted into the opening and title track, “ Among the Living “.

With green, red, and blue lights shifting all over, they dove right in to one of their staple songs, and one that I’ve seen at every Anthrax show I’ve ever been to, “ Caught in a Mosh “. If there was a single crowd member not bouncing or spinning during Frank Bello’s wicked bass lines, I couldn’t see them from where I was standing.

After the Judge Dredd based staple, “ I Am The Law “, and one of my Anthrax favorites, “ Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.) “, Joey asked everyone, “ Does anybody have any skeletons in their closet? ” with “ A Skeleton in the Closet ” being the last song from Among the Living they would play for a short bit.

Once they chugged through “ March of the S.O.D. “, the band briefly left the stage only to return with “ In the End ” from their latest album, Worship Music. Dedicating the song to the late, great, Ronnie James Dio , Joey requested that everyone get their metal horns to the sky. Nearly every hand available was raised with a pinky and a pointer to the sky.

Be sure and check out my photo gallery from Anthrax here.

Scott Ian took the time to talk to the crowd, mentioning that it was their 5th New York City show they’ve played since Worship Music came out, with incredible support for each and every show. “ We just released a new album called Anthems, and it has a bunch of great songs that we we didn’t write ,” Scott explained, “ and right now, we’re going to play one of those songs! This is a really easy song to sing along to, you should know the lyrics. Can you sing along New York? CAN YOU? ” With loud cheers, Anthrax broke in to a cover of the AC/DC classic, “ T.N.T. ”

For me, this was one of the biggest highlights of the night. Joey Belladonna really sounded phenomenal singing the classic tune, channeling his inner Bon Scott , which brought the crowd interaction to new levels. It was very clear even if someone in the room didn’t know a single lyric to an Anthrax song, they at least could identify the three main letters for this one. Ending with a little teaser of another famous AC/DC tune, “ Back in Black “, the crowd cheered loudly for what was quite a memorable experience.

Pounding through the frantic “ Madhouse ,” and returning to Among the Living tunes with the great circle pit song, “ Indians “. When Scott started to introduce the next song, the lesser played “ One World “, Scott’s voice pitched a little higher than it should have, getting laughter from the crowd. A little frazzled, Scott returned with, “ Hey now, I’m screaming my balls off up here! ” with Joey quickly adding, “ Give it up for Ian! ”

“A. D.I./Horror of It All “, “ Got the Time “, and zombie apocalypse theme song, “ Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t ” were next in line. A short stage break brought the band back for their encore beginning with the final Among the Living track to be played, “ Imitation of Life “.

After Scott Ian and Frank Bello shared back and forth vocals on a shortened bit of “ I’m the Man “, and a quick drum solo from Charlie Benante , Anthrax entered in to their final song of the night, their cover of Trust’s “ Antisocial “.

Before the band grouped together on stage for a bow, Scott Ian jumped on the mic one last time to proudly proclaim, “ Thank you New York City! Your home and our home! We’re gonna make a new record after this tour, so until next year, ALWAYS WORSHIP MUSIC! ”

For people to still want to hear the Among the Living songs performed live, it clearly shows that not only has the album stood the test of time, but the band has as well. Anthrax still has that fire in their step, and rightfully deserves their badge as one of “ The Big 4 of thrash metal “. The four bands that proceeded them were quite a sight for a headbanger’s eyes as well, making “ The Metal Alliance ” tour this year a great success.

Anthrax Wrap Up Metal Alliance in NYC With Exodus, Municipal Waste + Shadows Fall

Anthrax  and their metal brothers gave New York City one hell of a weekend as the Metal Alliance tour wrapped up on Sunday night (April 21) at Irving Plaza. The gig was was the second of sold-out two-night stand at the venue.

New school and old-school Anthrax fans packed the venue and sung their hearts out as Anthrax performed all of their tunes off their classic album ‘Among the Living.’  Their set started with the title track and fans got even more rowdy as they played ‘Caught in a Mosh’ and ‘I Am the Law’ back to back.

Frontman Joey Belladonna belted out all of these songs with his infinite range that resonated throughout Irving Plaza while bassist Frank Bello delighted fans with some incredibly animated faces. Guitarist Scott Ian is always a sight to see rocking out onstage as drummer Charlie Benante provided precision and pulsating patterns behind the skins.

Guitarist Jonathan Donais, who earlier in the night performed with his own band Shadows Fall , finished out his stint playing with Anthrax on this tour. Interestingly enough, former Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano, who is now a member of Volbeat, was in attendance and showing full support for his former bandmates.

The hometown guys also performed tracks from their very well-received ‘Worship Music,’ including ‘In the End,’ ‘The Devil You Know’ and ‘Fight ‘Em Til You Can’t.’ Fans were also treated to their cover of AC/DC’s ‘T.N.T.,’ Joe Jackson’s ‘Got The Time’ and their set ending rendition of Trust’s ‘Antisocial.’

Exodus were a powerhouse onstage, as frontman Rob Dukes spat out some serious tunes as renowned guitarist Gary Holt melted faces with his riffs. The band’s chemistry as a whole was infectious to see – not to many bands could split the crowd down the middle for a wall of death and then have them go into an old school circle pit?

With it being the last 2013 Metal Alliance show,  Holy Grail singer James-Paul Luna,  Municipal Waste frontman Tony Foresta and Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair all jumped onstage to perform with Exodus.

Speaking of memorable, Municipal Waste and their vigorous set left a serious impact on fans and the foundation of Irving Plaza as a whole. When they say “Municipal Waste Is Gonna F--- You Up” they sure mean it. The band had complete control of the crowd, who constantly surfed their way toward the stage.

High on Fire had a run on the Metal Alliance tour when it first started, but Shadows Fall came on board later in the tour and they did not disappoint on the last night of the trek. As Fair whipped his dreads around and leaped into the crowd, the overall fortitude of the set definitely left an impact on fans. West Coast opening act Holy Grail kicked off the night of metal with a great performance.

Although COVID is throwing the calendar completely off by a whole year, Anthrax will be bringing their 40th anniversary celebrations (now, technically, 41st) to Europe in 2022, including eight shows in the UK. And bonus good news: they’re bringing Virginia thrashers Municipal Waste with them.

"It sure has been a long time since we rock’n’rolled in the UK and Europe,” says drummer Charlie Benante, "but we’re coming back soon to bring the noise to all of you guys. Being that we can’t get over there until 2022, we’re going to make sure that every show will be an eventful one.

"We won’t just be playing four decades of songs to celebrate our ongoing 40th anniversary – hey, we’ll be giving you some history! – but we just might have some brand new ones for you as well. Can’t wait to see all your happy, smiling faces!"

"There's just something special about Europe," adds singer Joey Belladonna. "Our fans there have always had a full-fledged excitement about our shows, and I enjoy performing more than anyone can imagine, so we're really looking forward to this tour."

ANTHRAX // MUNICIPAL WASTE // SWORN ENEMY // LIVE REVIEW // THE 02 ACADEMY // BRISTOL

anthrax municipal waste tour

On this crisp October evening in Bristol, a long queue of eager fans dressed in black and denim stretch out of the O2 Academy, spilling onto Frogmore street and twisting up around the hill. Its neighbouring rock and metal pub The Hatchet, just a few metres away, was also jam-packed full of Anthrax T-Shirt-wearing beer drinkers.

Part of the ‘Big Four’ (a quartet of four major thrash metal monsters including Slayer, Metallica and Megadeth), Anthrax has been knocking the socks off of the worldwide metal community for over four decades now. This tour is an extension of their 40th Anniversary from 2021, accompanied by the support of well-known speed metal thrash punks Municipal Waste and crossover thrash metal band Sworn Enemy.

Sworn Enemy

Straight out of the New York hardcore scene with no warm-up required, Sal Lococo goes loco on the audience. “Get your f*****g hands up Bristol!” he roars down the microphone in a thick American accent before launching straight into a blinding, full-frontal thrash breakdown. The band has a few Nu Metal undertones which makes sense since the main act Anthrax is well-known for helping pave the way for the genre.

Sworn Enemies’ second song, ‘Here Today’ sounds a bit like Rage Against the Machine, and Mike Pucciarelli, the bassist wearing a stylish bandana, jumps and twirls around youthfully on the stage, as does the lead singer who has a very extroverted presence. The bar staff, most likely accustomed to a wide range of musical performances, don’t really seem to get it but the audience is already headbanging in unison with the drummer Taykwuan Jackson who really packs a punch. During the third song, the song speeds up exponentially and just outright throttles the room. Blue lights flicker off as ‘Coming Undone’ starts and the crowd roars as darker, more ferocious metal screams burst out from the stage. Midway through the set, we are treated to a guitar solo of not-so-modest proportions, at which point lead guitarist Jeff Cummings begins windmilling and showcasing his blonde rapunzel-like locks.

“Bristol, you’ve been amazing!” Sal Lococo shouts, voice now straining slightly from the vocal fries. Ending on a slightly cheekier note he beams “If one of you sees me walking around, buy me a drink!”

Sal Lococo – Vocals

Jeff Cummings – Lead guitar

Matt Garzilli – Rhythm guitar

Mike Pucciarelli – Bass

Taykwuan Jackson – Drums

Municipal Waste

After a brief interlude of buying rounds at the bar, the audience gathers expectantly during the soundcheck for Municipal Waste. A furrow-browed engineer in spectacles steps in with some kitchen roll to clean something up, possibly the carnage leftover from the heavy whack of the aforementioned band.

The lights go down and the room cheers. This is obviously a band many of the audience members are familiar with. “C’mon then Bristol, let’s see what you’ve got”! Tony Foresta yells as he launches headfirst into ‘Beer Pressure’ an unrelenting thrash classic about well, beer, and the youthful stupidities of becoming intoxicated. Audience members readily accept the challenge, and the humble beginnings of a mosh pit can be seen forming from the balcony. Like the start of a cosmic hurricane, it swirls and expands further out into the crowd, swallowing more and more people from its edges. The security guards look mildly perturbed and have wisely already taken their positions in front of the stage for what’s to come.

The crowd laments “F*** you up! F*** you up!” in unison, while Tony Foresta shouts “Everyones gonna crowd surf for the next song, I’m not f*****g around!” A couple of the security guards look around in anticipation before Foresta yells “WAVE OF DEATH!” and we then watch as a minimum of fifty fans crowd surf their way over the front bars in a stream of chaotic, emancipated mayhem. Security really has their work cut out for them tonight as they pull person after person down to safety and signal them off to the left.

Municipal Waste show their appreciation and give a huge thanks to the men on the front lines. “Give it up for security! The sexy, sexy security!”

Tony Foresta – Lead vocals

Ryan Waste – Rhythm guitar, backing vocals

Philip “Land Phil” Hall – Bass, backing vocals

Dave Witte – Drums

Nick “Nikropolis” Poulos – Lead guitar

After a short while, the lights go down and Anthrax play their classic introduction video on the big screen, showcasing mutual praise from many celebrities including Keanu Reeves. The crowd goes absolutely wild as shadows of the band members can be seen behind the white screen. As the screen comes down we are launched straight into ‘Among the Living, a song centred around zombies, one of guitarist Scott Ian’s favourite horror themes. Up on the backdrop is a colourful depiction of the band’s iconic mascot, Notman, most likely created by Anthrax’s drummer Charlie Benante who does much of the bands artwork.

Benante picks the pace up mid-song on the drums as Joey Belladonna grabs the microphone stand and paces up and down the stage, pummeling the air playfully as he goes and engaging with all areas of the room. Joey really knows how to get the crowd going in true rock star fashion with his fun, energetic personality and who could forget those piercing zeppelin-like tenor vocals.  The prolonged precursory riffs of ‘Caught in a Mosh’ begin as the bearded Scott Ian happily chugs away on his white electric Flying V guitar, shaped a bit like a miniature rocketship. Joey Belladonna humorously mirrors Scott by using the microphone stand as a mock electric guitar, before yelling something incoherent at the audience and piloting the band into the real meat of the song. Of course, the milky way moshpit begins expanding once again from front centre, pulling more willing participants into its ominous heart. This swirling centre becomes more aggressive at the onset of ‘I am the Law’, with Joey punching the microphone stand hard into the air this time (We’re not sure whether to feel sorry for or jealous of the microphone stand at this point).

Before ‘Caught in a Mosh’ has even finished, Anthrax dives straight into the classic Public Enemy hit  ‘Bring the Noise’, albeit a disappointingly short version of the song. Scott Ian appears to have swapped his white Flying V guitar for a bright green one, and he can actively be seen spurring on the mosh pit shenanigans with approving nods and hand gestures.

Towards the end of the evening, the audience sang Anthrax a spontaneous Happy Birthday, helping to mark their 40th Anniversary. Joey warmly reciprocates this gesture by telling the loyal crowd that he is happy to be back in the UK again, and reminisces about their first-ever time here in 1986 when they toured with Metallica. Clearly this was a very happy and fond memory of theirs.

After performing yet another balancing act with the poor microphone stand, Joey leaves us with some heartwarming final words. “Remember, YOU guys are the badass people here tonight! Thank you for being here”. And with that, the drums sound their last and he disappears, at least for now.

Joey Belladonna – Lead vocals

Jonathon Donais – Lead guitar

Scott Ian – Rhythm guitar and backing vocals

Charlie Benante – drums

Frank Bello – Bass and backing vocals

As part of their headlining set, Anthrax will be performing their classic album Among The Living in its entirety on the tour.  Scott Ian had the following to say about the trek, running from March to April:

“Holy crap am I so excited about this year’s Metal Alliance Tour ! It’s been a great year and a half for us since Worship Music came out and to cap it off with a Grammy nomination. This is such a perfect lineup. To make this tour even more special, we will be playing our Among The Living record in its entirety. I can’t wait to play ‘Horror Of It All!’ Come on out and worship with us my friends. You do not want to miss this. USA on Hell one more time…”

The tour’s co-organizer Dan Rozenblum shares Ian’s excitement, saying the following about snagging Anthrax for the tour:

“Anthrax has always been one of my favorite bands, and to have them be part of our tour is beyond expression. This is surely going to be one for the history books!”

Since Worship Music’s release, Anthrax have done numerous tours with Testament and Death Angel. Now we’ll not only get to see them play with another thrash legends Exodus (who even Ian thinks would qualify for the “expanded Big 4” ), but also with two of thrash metal’s rising stars Municipal Waste and Holy Grail. Those that have been around for a while might remember that the last time Anthrax and Exodus toured together was 1989’s  Headbanger’s Ball tour.

Dates for the third annual Metal Alliance Tour will be announced shortly, while general admission tickets will be available on January 11. Keep an eye out on the tour’s soon-to-be-launched website for more details.

TV has soap operas, literature has Shakespeare, and metal – well, metal has Anthrax, that fire-breathing, thrash-spitting, multi-headed beast of a band that – 30 years since the day Scott Ian and then-bassist Danny Lilker searched a biology textbook for the disease that would become their moniker – smiles back at you with a monstrous, upturned middle finger and refuses to fucking die. But then, if you have an inkling about heavy metal, you'll have heard of their meteoric rise in the '80s alongside the likes of Slayer, Megadeth, and a little band that once crashed on Anthrax's studio floor known as Metallica.

You'll know all about their game-changing, crossover hit with Public Enemy on "Bring The Noise" in 1991. You'll have listened to generations of bands that owe everything to their signature stomp and crushing riffs. And in more recent times, you'll have witnessed an almost irrational will to survive in defiance of monumental odds. And that, true believers, is the story of one of the most doggedly heroic bands in metaldom on the cusp of their greatest release to date. The road has not been easy.

Rewind to 2005. Hot on the heels of 2003's rapturously received We've Come For You All , a unanimously praised, end-to-end scorcher spearheaded by vocalist John Bush, Anthrax shocked the metal world with the announcement that singer Joey Belladonna would be re-joining the band for a classic, 80s-era reunion that would sweep them around the world on a wave of head-banging nostalgia, but more importantly, reconnecting the band as friends and as the brutal thrash machine that gave the world Among The Living . Once that tour finished, Anthrax returned to discover that John Bush had moved on, and they would need to recruit yet another singer for the recording of their follow-up to WCFYA , the album that would become Worship Music , their tenth studio album. The band worked with one singer for a period of time, but in 2009, they were still without the right vocalist.

Refusing to accept their predicament, the remaining members rallied themselves in a spine-tingling gesture of conviction and self-belief for what would become the single greatest metal event of the 21st century, the first-ever performance of The Big 4. According to Charlie Benante, getting the band's proverbial excrement together for that gig was just the motivation that Anthrax needed to spit out the blood and get back on their feet. Reuniting with Joey Belladonna for a whirlwind, globe-stomping tour that would see Anthrax playing shoulder to shoulder with Slayer, Megadeth and old pals Metallica, the explosive success of The Big 4 would suddenly beg the question of what would happen next, and more to the point: who would sing on Worship Music , and how would Anthrax approach the follow-up to We’ve Come For You All ?

It wasn’t easy, but – from the ferocious attack of “Earth on Hell” to the red-blooded might of “Fight’em ‘Til You Can’t,” the results have been nothing less than horn-conjuring. Over the past 30 years, Anthrax has achieved sales in excess of 10-million. The band has also received multiple Gold and Platinum albums, multiple Grammy nominations, and a host of other accolades from the media, industry and fans.

Elektrostal, Moscow Oblast, Russia

anthrax municipal waste tour

Elektrostal is a city in the Moscow Oblast of Russia, located around 30 km east of Moscow. It is home to around 160,000 inhabitants and is an important industrial and cultural center in the region. The city is known for its vibrant night lights, which are a major attraction for both tourists and locals alike.

The amount of light pollution in Elektrostal is quite significant, due to the large number of industrial facilities and residential buildings. The city's industrial sector, which includes metallurgical plants, chemical factories, and power stations, is one of the main sources of light pollution in the area. The city's residential areas also contribute to the problem, as many people leave their lights on throughout the night.

One of the most well-known landmarks in Elektrostal is the Monument to the Conquerors of Space, which was built in 1964 to commemorate the achievements of the Soviet space program. The monument is illuminated at night and is visible from many parts of the city. Another notable landmark is the Elektrostal Museum of Local Lore, which is housed in a historic building and features exhibits on the city's history and culture.

In addition to its industrial and cultural attractions, Elektrostal is also known for its vibrant nightlife. The city has a large number of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, many of which are open until late into the night. The city's residents are known for their love of music and dancing, and the local nightlife scene reflects this.

Despite the significant amount of light pollution in Elektrostal, there are efforts underway to reduce the problem. The city government has implemented a number of initiatives aimed at promoting energy efficiency and reducing waste, including a program to replace traditional streetlights with LED lights. The city also encourages its residents to conserve energy by turning off lights when they are not needed.

Elektrostal is a vibrant and dynamic city in the Moscow Oblast, with a rich industrial and cultural heritage. While its night lights are a major attraction, they also contribute to the problem of light pollution in the area. However, efforts are underway to address the issue, and the city's residents and government are working together to promote sustainable and energy-efficient practices.
