Best Golf Alignment Sticks

How we test

What to consider.

One of the biggest problems we see in golf is players swinging through and hitting the ball on a poor trajectory. That is a common curse of many players and can cause things a nasty slice or hook. So, getting the plane of your swing right is absolutely imperative to making a good connection on the golf ball and hitting it straight. As so much goes on in your golf swing, from your address all the way to your follow through, there is always a tendency to drift and move your club in a way that would deviate from the best swing arc possible. But that's where alignment sticks come in.

As the best golf training aids go, alignment sticks are a sure fire way to help you improve the plane of your golf swing and keep you on a natural path coming down through the golf ball. Everyone from Tour pros to amateur golfers uses alignment sticks and we definitely recommend picking up a set if you're struggling with your swing. Their versatility on the range means you can set them up to complete a ton of different drills that can, for example, help you improve your accuracy with your long irons, or help ensure your club path doesn't deviate too far out in front of you.

Alignment sticks are also great for warm up drills on the course and can help you dial in your swing before you tee off. As golf is a game of fine margins, any advantage you can get over your opponents before you tee off is a bonus, right? So why not check out some of the brilliant alignment sticks we've set out below that cater to golfers of all experience levels. While you're here, if you're still in need of help on how to remedy your swing, why not also check out our guides on the best golf accessories , best golf simulators and best golf grips .

Best Golf Alignment Sticks

Why you can trust Golf Monthly Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test .

Rhino Valley Golf Alignment Sticks

+ Ergonomic and easy to carry + Very lightweight + Durable - Pack only comes with two rods

Rhino Valley's foldable Golf Alignment Sticks are one of our favorite products on this list, purely for how ergonomic they are. As golfers we love to keep things simple and we don't like having to carry around heaps of equipment and the more portable our gear, the easier we find it to use. That's why we love these foldable, multi-purpose training aids that can be easily clipped up in your golf bag. Akin to some of the best portable launch monitors , these alignment aids are super easy to use and can be set up around the golf course. And you don't need to worry about breaking them either, with the Rhino Valley Sticks being made of a sturdy glass-fiber material that is very lightweight and easy to operate.

PGA TOUR Pro Sticks Alignment Golf Aid

+ Over a meter long + Lightweight and portable + Includes a pro's instructional guide - May be too long for some

If the PGA Tour branding on this alignment stick means anything, then it's that this is a high quality rod that you'll no doubt be able to use to help improve your swing. While it is one of the longer rods on this list, it's pointed end means it can be dug into the ground and used as a tool to help you keep your club on an even trajectory.

It can also be set on the ground to help you strike the ball more fluidly with your putter. This rod also features a handy plastic case, that will keep it safe and secure when stored away in your bag. It is worth saying that these sticks also usually come with a handy instruction guide on how to use them which is useful especially if you haven't trained with sticks before.

FINGER TEN Golf Alignment Sticks Swing Trainer Tool

+ Durable + Easy to manage and story + Can be dug into ground - Only come in three different colors

A professionally designed training aid, these alignment sticks from FINGER TEN are a fantastic way to help you improve your golf swing. Made of an ultra-resistant fiberglass, they are very durable and come with a handy clear tube case that protects the sticks when you're not using them. Thanks to their pointed ends, you can pretty much set these sticks up in any way you want and practice any drill, perfecting anything from your putter to your driver. And their cool colors will help you stand out on the range, akin to many of the colorful offerings on our best golf polo shirt guides, but also help you keep your club on the right plane to the golf ball.

SKLZ Pro Rods Golf Trainer

+ Great for golfers of all abilities + Rods feature nine rings to help with club alignment + Rods can be staked easily to any turf - Higher price point

One golf brand we see regularly popping up in the best golf putting trainer market is SKLZ. Producing some of the best putting mats in the business, SKLZ are one of the most reputable brands around. And their excellent alignment rods echo that sentiment. These are an innovative addition to this list that feature nine rings etched into their surface that are designed to help you with your club alignment, as well as chipping, putting and pitching drills. They are extremely lightweight and are made of a fiber glass material that makes them very sturdy if you accidentally knock one with your club on  your backswing.

Pro Stix Lime Alignment Sticks

+ Excellent lime-green colorway + Perfect for golfers of all skill levels + Lightweight and durable - May be too big for junior golfers

Boasting perhaps the best colorways on this list, the Pro Stix Lime Alignment Rods stand out as one of the coolest alignment sticks I've come across. Yes, green is one of my favorite colors, but if you're looking for a stick that's going to grab your attention and stop you from hitting it as you come down in your drive - then this is by far the one. It's neon green colorway cuts out from all other colors and is a great way to help you keep your swing on the right path! Practice is perhaps the best way to improve how you play, but using a forgiving set of irons or driver is also another way to help you hit the ball straighter and longer!

Ray Cook Golf Twin Pole Alignment System

+ Reliable + Easy to use + Foldable - May be a bit brittle

Another excellent addition to this list from one of the most golf accessory brands on the market, Ray Cook. The brand are renowned for producing great value golf gear that can help you improve your game. Their twin pole alignment rods can be used for a variety of drills, from improving your putting stroke to developing your chipping game. The pack includes two alignment sticks that can be folded away, but when fully extended are two of the tallest sticks we've come across. While they are a long offering, they will fit nicely inside any of the best golf stand bags or best golf cart bags on the market.

We think the best way to see if an alignment stick is any good is by testing it . That sounds like an obvious statement to make but it is only by using a product a lot, and often, that we can gain an idea of usability, versatility, durability, value for money, and above all else, does it actually have a positive impact on our game? We use products at home, at the range, on the putting green, etc to see if specific training aids are actually worth buying. We should also mention that no manufacturer can pay for a good review because our team tells it how it is.

There are many different kinds of alignment sticks on the market and each one comes with a different set of specifications that can change the way you train with them. For example, some may be foldable while others may be super long. Others may come with special clips, while other products may come with phone holders for selfies. To ensure you get the right alignment rod for your needs, I've set out a few handy tips below that'll help you get the best value for your money!

Depending on what you use your alignment stick for, size generally is one of the defining factors in what kind of rod you should buy. Most rods come in at over a meter long in size and that's probably the best length that allows you to use the stick for everything from driving to putting. You may also want to consider getting a smaller rod that might be more easy to carry, but that leads me on to my next point which is....

2. Portability

Yes this is perhaps the second most important thing to consider when buying a new golf alignment rod, as let's be honest, carrying around a huge pole in your golf bag isn't always the most ergonomic way to play golf is it? I personally prefer to use the rods that will fold down and slip easily into a pocket in my bag, but that depends on your preferences and what kind of bag you use as a golfer. One point to note is that there is a greater chance you will damage your alignment rods if you carry them in a club divider with your clubs, as opposed to folding them down and storing them in a pocket in your bag - so keep that in mind.

This might not be a big deal for some golfers, but for me is a deal breaker. Having a brightly colored rod can help me see and visualise the area in which I shouldn't move my golf club. Seeing, for example, a bright neon green color in your eye line is a great way to help you keep the club on the right plane.

4. Durability

As with everything in golf, things can break easily. That's why its wise to ensure you're purchasing a set of alignment sticks that are strong and durable. This is particularly important considering you're going to be swinging your club nearly 100mph near to them, with it being very easy to miss-time your swing and connect hard with one of your alignment sticks. For that reason - think about how sturdy your sticks are!

Particularly for when the weather is cold, always look out for sticks that come with a spiked end. This is important as to complete the majority of drills you'd use an alignment stick for you need to stake them into the ground. Having a pointy end on your sticks can therefore make life a lot easier for you when you come to practice!

6 Best Golf Alignment Sticks 2024: Reviews & Buyer’s Guide

Henry Foster Image

What started as a simple stick to help golfers make sure their feet were headed to the target has become one of the best golf training tools on the market.

People use golf alignment sticks to help with aiming, alignment, setup, stance, and more.

These sticks are simple to keep in your golf bag, and they can certainly help you become a better player.

Although all golf alignment sticks may look the same, there are some differences between them. Let’s take a look at some of the best golf alignment sticks on the market .

Our Best Golf Alignment Sticks in 2024

  • GoSports Golf Alignment Training Sticks (Best Golf Alignment Sticks)
  • Tour Sticks Golf Alignment Stick (Runner Up 1)
  • Maxfli Golf Alignment Sticks (Runner Up 2)
  • SKLZ Golf Alignment Sticks Training Aid ( Best Premium)
  • PrideSports Golf Alignment Stick (Best Folding)
  • Champkey PRO Golf Alignment Sticks (Best Cheap)

Best Overall: GoSports Golf Alignment Training sticks

tour sticks alignment sticks

  • Comes as a pack of three
  • Pointed tip to help get it in the ground
  • More lightweight material than other alignment sticks

The GoSports Golf Alignment Training sticks are the best on the market. This comes as a pack of three sticks that are 48 inches in length. They are a bright color that will help to ensure you don’t leave them behind on the course when play is finished.

Having a pack of three alignment sticks can be very beneficial. Instead of having to practice one area of your game at a time, you can use these three sticks to help you work on multiple areas of your game at once.

For instance, you can put one on the ground for alignment and stick one in the ground to help you with the swing path.

One side of the GoSports alignment stick is going to have a pointed end. The point is to help you to get this to stay in the ground while you practice.

We love that you can fold the GoSports model as well, so you won’t have any trouble putting them in the apparel pocket on your golf bag when you are done practicing.

If you are new to the world of alignment sticks and want something that will change the way you play, this is a one of the best alignment sticks to try.

Runner Up 1: Tour Sticks Golf Alignment Stick

tour sticks alignment sticks

  • Comes in a pack of two
  • Flyer with drills is included
  • Lightweight and has a holding tube
  • A leader in the training tool industry
  • Priced a bit higher than other options on the market

The Tour Sticks golf alignment sticks were one of the original ones to hit the market. With the Tour Sticks, you are going to get two sticks, and they are made of very high-quality materials.

When you purchase these, you will be satisfied with the way they feel and perform .

Each stick is 46” in length , and they are not foldable. It is going to stick out of the top of your bag about the same distance your driver wood.

One side of the Tour stick alignment sticks will have a rubber cap on it; the other end will have a point to help you get it in the ground.

Since Tour Sticks have been in this training aids game for so long, they also offer lots of drills and guides on how to use this handy training aid. You get a flyer that gives you multiple drills to work on while using this alignment stick.

The Tour sticks are available in many different colors, and they are manufactured with a UV coating to make sure that they don’t fade. This is a golf alignment stick that you will have for a very long time.

Runner Up 2: Maxfli Golf Alignment Sticks

tour sticks alignment sticks

  • Easy to use and smaller scale
  • One stick has lines on it
  • Each pole measures 36 inches
  • Not as great for swing path issues because of the smaller size

The Maxfli Golf Alignment sticks are another great choice if you want something that is lightweight and easy to fit in your golf bag. These alignment sticks are not as large as some of the others, but some golfers don’t find that to be an issue.

The three poles in this setup are all going to be 36 inches in length. They are great for indoor use and when working in a confined area. The Maxfli is also offered at a very fair price when you consider that it is three sticks included.

We like the clip that Maxfli provides that allows you to store the three aids together. One of the training aids has some lines to help you get the exact ball position and setup when you are in the middle of a practice session.

Regardless of how you like to practice, the Maxfli golf alignment sticks are going to be a great addition to the effectiveness of your practice routine.

SKLZ Golf Alignment Sticks Training Aid

Best Premium Golf Alignment Sticks

tour sticks alignment sticks

  • Great for consistency
  • You can use it for a wide range of areas in your golf game
  • Safety cap on one end pointed on the other
  • Priced a bit higher than other choices

SKLZ is a company that makes quite a few golf training aids, and they are all very well received by golfers. The SKLZ Golf Alignment stick comes in a pack of three, and you are going to get three 48 inch fiberglass rods .

The rods are made of high quality material that is resistant to breaking. You should understand that many golfers break alignment rods from time to time, and this is very understandable.

Sometimes when you are working on your swing, you will accidentally hit the stick, and it will snap. The SKLZ seems to hold up quite well to this.

Our favorite feature on the SKLZ trainer is the nine rings that are on the center of the stick. You can use these rings to help you make sure that your setup and ball position are perfect over and over again.

This is the best golf alignment stick for those that are precise when it comes to their golf game.

PrideSports Golf Alignment Stick

Best Folding Golf Alignment Sticks

tour sticks alignment sticks

  • Some of the best alignment sticks from a visual standpoint
  • Easily fold up
  • Comes with two sticks in a package
  • Can collapse at times when putting it in the ground.

If you don’t want to see, a golf alignment stick hanging out of the top of your bag, then you may want to consider a folding model like the PrideSports. The PrideSports Golf Alignment stick is a collapsible model that is 48 inches in length.

You are still going to get the benefit of a full length golf alignment stick, but you won’t need to worry as much about the storage. The PrideSports golf sticks are a very bright in color, which will help you focus on the golf skill and task at hand.

A golf alignment stick that blends in with the grass is not going to give you as much of a clear direction as to what to do. With this pack, you will get two sticks that fold into a small carry tube.

The only issue people sometimes have with a folding stick is that it can easily fall apart when placed in the ground. The PrideSports seem to do just fine.

Champkey 48″ PRO Golf Alignment Sticks

Best Cheap Golf Alignment Sticks

Champkey brand is not one of the top manufacturing names in the industry but you may have seen the great value they offer on some golf accessories.

Golf grips are one of the best selling items from Champkey, Furthermore, the golf grips’ tacky and soft materials are designed for all-weather performance. But these 48” golf alignment sticks are an excellent choice for the player that is working on some specific issues in their game.

With the Champkey alignment sticks, you can work on your golf game and easily store this training aid right in your golf bag. The Champkey sticks are bright in color and allow you to see exactly what you are working on.

The end of the stick has a rubber safety cap to make sure that you won’t hurt yourself if you are putting them in your bag or using them on your downswing.

The other side of the stick is pointy, so it will stick in the ground and hold the angle of the shaft that you need.

If you are new to the world of golf training aids and alignment sticks, you may be reluctant to invest too much money.

How To Use Golf Alignment Sticks

Golf alignment sticks are quite simple to use and incorporate into your daily routine. With a golf alignment stick, you simply put it on or in the ground to work on your alignment, swing path, and more.

If you plan to use the golf alignment sticks to help with overall aim and alignment then the sticks will stay on the ground. Place one by your feet and another on the other side of the ball to show the path towards the hole.

If you want to use the golf club alignment sticks to work on your club path, you will place the shaft in the ground on an angle that allows you to work on things like coming over the top or bringing the club back too shallow. For the most part, when working on something like the path, ensure that you do not hurt yourself with the alignment stick. Start with slow-motion swings because you take a full swing.

If you end up hitting the golf alignment stick, there is a chance that it could break your golf club or the alignment stick in the process. This would be best to avoid if possible.

What To Look For When Buying Golf Alignment Sticks

Now that you have a better idea of the best golf alignment sticks on the market, it’s time to narrow down which will be the best fit for your individual golf game. There are a few things that will set alignment sticks apart, even if they do seem as though they are relatively similar in design.

The material of the golf alignment stick needs to be something that will not damage your club but will also be sturdy enough to remain upright in the ground while you are using it. The golf alignment sticks on our list are mostly made with a fiberglass type material.

There will be times that you will hit the alignment stick with your club, and there is a chance that it could break, yet you will also not have to worry as much about getting hurt if this were to happen.

Golf alignment sticks are very durable. You will not have to worry about these breaking or bending as long as you take proper care of them. If your golf alignment sticks came with a case, be sure to use it.

The golf alignment sticks are the number one training aid in the world of golf. With a golf alignment stick, you will be able to work on your alignment, your swing path, even things like weight transfer and angle of attack.

The more you get to know how to use the golf alignment sticks, the easier it is to become a great player. The value of this product is something that is very easy to justify, especially with the fair pricing that alignment sticks are offered.

Functionality

Although golf alignment sticks all look somewhat similar, they have varying features and functionality. Some of these golf alignment sticks are collapsible; others will have the ability to bend to work on different areas of the game.

If you are serious about your golf practice and have things that you want to work on in your game, make sure that the functionality of the alignment sticks match the issues you are working on in your game.

Safety Features

There are many safety features to consider when you look into alignment sticks. For starters, you should be sure that you get some kind of a case with these sticks, so you have a place to store them. In addition, one end of the stick will be rather sharp so it can stick in the ground; this typically comes with a cap to help protect you from being hurt by the sharp end.

Another essential safety feature is the material composition of the golf alignment sticks. With a fiberglass type material, you will not get quite as hurt when you accidentally hit the stick. Always read manufacturers’ recommendations about where to stand and how to hit using an alignment stick.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few of the most commonly asked questions that we get about golf alignment sticks. These questions should help you clear up any lingering concerns about the functionality of this product.

Collapsible Alignment Sticks, Wooden Alignment Sticks.. which type is right for me?

There are two things to consider when choosing an alignment stick. The first is where you will want to store it; the second is what you need the alignment stick to do for your game. If you are serious about working on your game, make sure to read customer reviews about which golf alignment sticks help with specific areas of the game.

We like the golf alignment sticks that are collapsible or offer varying angles and setups. The more functionality you can add to a golf alignment stick, the better.

Are Golf Aiming Sticks and Golf Swing Sticks the same?

Golf alignment sticks and golf swing sticks are the same things. Years ago, people were buying fiberglass rods from Home Depot and using these to help them improve their golf game. Luckily things have gotten much easier, and now these golf aiming sticks and golf swing sticks are a perfect solution built specifically for the golfer.

What is golf alignment sticks length?

The golf alignment sticks are typically a little longer than your driver. Most options will be around 45-48 inches in length. Pay attention to cheaper golf alignment sticks that are shorter in length; some of the functionality may be compromised by having a tool that is too short.

How to store alignment sticks?

Collapsible golf alignment sticks should go in your golf bag. This will make it much easier to have the sticks with you at all times. Other golf alignment sticks may work in the extra club slot in your golf cart bag. Many golf cart bags have 15 slots, and players will use that 15th slot to keep their ball retriever or their golf swing sticks.

Golf Alignment Sticks Buying Guide

Now that you know the best golf alignment sticks to purchase, you may have some questions about how they work, how you should use them, and which ones will make the most sense for your game.

Here are some questions that should help guide you towards the proper golf alignment sticks.

What Is The Difference Between Expensive and Cheap Golf Alignment Sticks?

If you noticed from our list, there is a bit of a difference in pricing between some of the different golf alignment sticks. The significant differences that you will see are the number of sticks included in a package and the quality of the material the stick is made of.

The higher quality, more durable alignment sticks tend to be sold for quite a bit more money than those that are thin. The thinner ones also tend to break from the normal wear and tear of being inside a golfer’s bag.

Surprisingly enough, some of the folding golf alignment sticks are also a bit cheaper. This is because they are usually made with lighter-weight material. We recommend using these folding ones if you are an occasional practicer.

If you practice every day and will use your alignment rods constantly, go with the higher quality version. The price difference is not enough to justify going with the cheaper models.

Do Beginners Need Golf Alignment Sticks?

Beginners, middle handicappers, and low handicappers need golf alignment sticks. They will be able to work on their alignment, swing plane , and path. These are things that every golfer should be focusing on regardless of their ability to score.

Beginners should start by using the alignment sticks to help them learn how to line up to a target. The sticks can run parallel to your feet, and you can see the way that the club and ball need to travel to reach the proper end result.

Beginners should do some research to find the best drills and exercises to use alignment sticks; they may find a much quicker path to success.

How Can Golf Alignment Sticks Help A Player?

Golf alignment sticks are going to help golfers how they struggle to aim. They can also help with determining proper ball position, swing path, and swing plane as well.

These sticks can be laid flat on the ground as a visual aid, or they can be placed in the ground to help guide the golf swing.

Regardless of how you decide to use the alignment sticks, you will find them to be one of the more versatile training tools on the market. Whether your golf swing is highly refined or you still need quite a bit of help, the alignment sticks can make a big difference.

Will Alignment Sticks Be Longer Than My Golf Clubs?

If you purchase alignment sticks that do not fold, you may see them starting to come out of the top of your golf clubs. The stick will probably point higher than the clubs themselves, and therefore, you could see part of the stick coming out of the top of the bag.

Luckily there is a golf accessory for everything. Even golf alignment sticks come with a headcover. Yes, believe it or not, you can purchase a headcover for your alignment sticks. This will help to make sure that the golf sticks are not damaging your clubs in any way.

Hopefully, you feel a bit more knowledgeable about the best golf alignment sticks and how they may be able to help your game. Choosing a great golf alignment stick is important because it is a tool that you will continually use.

The GoSports stand out to us as being the best golf alignment sticks on the market.

The GoSports are priced relatively well, easy to use, and will work to help you improve your game. You get three sticks for the same price other manufacturers charge for one.

The most important thing about choosing the best golf alignment sticks is to make sure you understand how to use them. Do a little research, and you will end up seeing some great improvements in your game.

Kolter Knutson

No matter how well we play, we can all do with an added edge from time to time. Alignment sticks are an excellent tool to help you improve your game in small but vital ways. But with so many brands and models on the market, which are the best golf alignment sticks ?

[amazon box = “B09VY64M3X” template=”horizontal” rating=”5″ description_items=”3″ button_detail=”https://bit.ly/3Hws9sE” button_detail_text=”Buy on Tour Aim” button_text=”Buy on Amazon”]

There are many excellent golf alignment sticks on the market, but which one should you buy?

Is it really worth it in the first place?

Let’s look at the characteristics they should have and then compare the best golf alignment sticks and golf training aids on the market.

What Are Golf Alignment Sticks?

What Are Golf Alignment Sticks

Golf alignment sticks are a training aid. Young golfers spend hours training to perfect their swing technique, but very few beginners even think about their alignment and aim.

Alignment sticks are a popular way to help you get your alignment right while you’re training or on the driving range, thereby ensuring that your swing will send the ball where you intend it to.

That’s why you will often see young golfers on the driving range with colorful sticks on the ground in front of them. Using the alignment sticks during practice will teach your body to align while playing on the course.

How To Use Golf Alignment Sticks

There are different types of golf alignment sticks, and some kits have more sticks (and thus more features) than others. On the most basic level, you need at least two sticks to get good results.

Simply grab your sticks and follow these steps:

  • Lay both sticks on the ground in front of you.
  • Ensure the sticks are parallel, about 1 foot apart, and pointed in the direction you want the ball to go.
  • Place the ball on the opposite side of the stick that’s furthest away from you, not too far or close. You must be able to reach it comfortably with your club.
  • Position your feet so that the toes on both feet are at an equal distance from the alignment stick closest to you.
  • Now check that your toes, knees, hips, and shoulders are parallel to the sticks on the ground.
  • Without changing your body’s alignment, turn your head to follow the course of the sticks toward where you want to send the ball.
  • Now take the swing as you’ve been practicing.

Some alignment stick kits include an additional stick that you can position at a 45-degree angle. You can use this as a guide for the angle at which you should hold your club.

Are Golf Alignment Sticks Worth It?

Most professional golf trainers use and recommend golf alignment sticks. When you see a professional golfer at the driving range, there’s an excellent chance you will see alignment sticks somewhere close to them. If these people who make a career out of golf use alignment sticks, that should tell you they are worth it.

Golf alignment sticks aren’t a miracle cure for a bad swing, but they will help you to make rapid improvements in your alignment, aim, and swing. And the best news for golfers on a budget, they are pretty inexpensive.

Alignment Stick Drills

Alignment Stick Drills

The steps mentioned above offer a general guideline, but you can use alignment sticks in various ways to improve your game. Here are a few drills that you can practice.

  • For intermediate practice , place the two alignment sticks on the ground in a straight line, end-to-end, pointing in the direction you want to send the ball. Now move the two sticks about a foot apart but still keep them in a straight line. Place your ball between the two sticks. Hold your posture parallel with the sticks and aim your club to follow the line as you swing.
  • For a more advanced drill , place the two sticks on the ground as mentioned in the “how-to” section above, but put your ball about two or three feet behind the sticks, still on the middle line between them. Check your posture and aim to play the ball as close as possible through the middle of the two sticks.
  • This drill is excellent if you have a kit that allows you to set a stick at an upright angle . Place one stick flat on the ground aimed in the direction you want to send the ball. Set the second stick at the angle, then comfortably get your club in the proper position at the same angle as the stick. This will help with your posture. Now play the ball following the alignment stick on the ground.
  • The next drill will help keep your body still as you swing . Place one of the alignment sticks at an angle and put the golf ball under it, but somewhere you can play it from. Stand so you can see the stick passing over the middle of the ball. As you swing, pay attention to the orientation of the stick over the ball, and you should immediately see if you moved.
  • This drill will help you with your pivot and stop you from pushing your hips out as you swing . Place an alignment stick upright at a slight angle, then keep your ankle as close as possible to the stick. As you swing, try to keep your hips in place. If you can feel the stick against your waist, you are moving your hips and not pivoting correctly.

The Best Golf Alignment Sticks in 2024

Now it’s time to go into the best golf alignment stick kits you can get. These are chosen based on a combination of features, price, value for money, and customer satisfaction.

1. Tour Aim Golf

Tour Aim Golf

Tour Aim is a product that helps you to place alignment sticks with the perfect aim. If you use Tour Aim, you don’t have to struggle with the manual layout of your alignment sticks – all the correct positions are already in place, so you can place the sticks and adjust your aim in seconds.

[amazon box = “B09VY64M3X” template=”horizontal” rating=”5″ description_items=”3″ link_overwrite=”https://bit.ly/3Hws9sE”]

The Tour Aim works for right-handed and left-handed players. You have various positions to insert your alignment sticks for different practices and drills, and it also helps you to set up a stick at an upright angle to improve your club position.

You can set the Tour Aim for front or back swing and even practice putting and chipping. It’s compatible with any surface, so you can practice on grass, turf, or mats.

The best part?

Tour Aim golf alignment sticks are insanely affordable (as golf gear goes).

You can buy the Tour Aim on its own to use with other alignment sticks or in a kit with sticks and an alignment stick cover.

Many professionals and trainers use and recommend Tour Aim, and it deserves its spot as the number one golf alignment stick kit.

2. GoSports Golf Alignment Training Sticks

[amazon box = “B082N7L7QN” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

The [amazon link=”B082N7L7QN” title=”GoSports Golf Alignment Training” /] sticks are excellent value for money. The sticks are 48 inches long, meaning you can perfect your aim and alignment without struggling with shorter sticks. But the sticks are also foldable, so they are easy to carry with you when you go to the driving range.

They come in a pack of three, which is plenty for any alignment stick drills. They also have pointed ends, so you can easily set them to an upright angle if you need to.

The GoSports kit doesn’t come with a high-quality alignment stick cover, but the container has a cap you can reuse to keep them safe while carrying them around. But the container does not fit in your golf bag easily, so getting a carry bag for more compact storage might be a good idea.

The sticks look flimsy when you take them out of the bag, but they are actually really sturdy. However, it has happened that people accidentally knocked their ends off by hitting them with a club, even though they generally still work perfectly after such an incident.

A last crucial point to remember is that, because you assemble them, they might not be as perfectly straight as some of the other options on this list, mainly due to their length. However, they are still perfect for most uses, and some joint adjustments will usually sort out any slight bend they might have.

3. Asyxstar Golf Alignment Sticks

[amazon box = “B08T82DT2H” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

The [amazon link=”B08T82DT2H” title=”Asyxstar” /] alignment sticks may not come from a well-known brand, but the product is excellent. Like the GoSports kit, Asyxstar alignment sticks are 48 inches long and can be folded up to fit in your golf bag and re-assembled when you start training.

Only two sticks are included in the package, but that should be enough for most players to practice and warm up before a game. The length of the sticks helps immeasurably with aiming precision. They also have pointed ends, so putting one upright for club alignment is definitely a practical option.

An advantage of the Asyxstar over the GoSports kit is that it comes in a much better container. The transparent tube case looks much more sturdy than GoSports, and it’s a bit smaller, though it will still struggle to fit into some golf bags. You may still prefer to buy a separate alignment stick cover.

Unfortunately, the joints aren’t as strong as they could be, though they are far from weak. If the sticks take too much of a beating, or if players don’t handle them carefully when assembling and disassembling them, they can easily break at the joints.

4. Kamitty Golf Alignment Sticks

[amazon box = “B09YTZ2G9S” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

[amazon link=”B09YTZ2G9S” title=”Kammity’s” /] golf alignment sticks come in packs of two 48-inch sticks, with a lot going for them.

First, Kamitty sticks are made of aluminum instead of fiberglass or plastic like many others, which means they are more robust and sturdier, so they won’t bend or break as easily. They are also extendible, so you can use them in their shorter configuration or make longer alignment sticks by extending them.

Unlike others, they use screw-in joints that aren’t as easy to break as the elbow joints other sticks use.

Their ends are sharpened so you can easily place them at upright angles if that’s what you need, but the sharpened ends come with protective rubber caps so they won’t damage your golf bag or cause injury.

Unfortunately, they don’t come with an alignment stick cover, bag, or container, so that is something you might want to purchase separately.

A common problem with the Kammity sticks is that they come unscrewed easily, even while carrying them around in your golf bag. So, it’s always a good idea to check the joints and the sharpened end to ensure that everything is as tight as possible before using it.

5. MoKo Golf Alignment Stick

[amazon box = “B09B72CD2R” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

MoKo is a brand that’s rising in popularity at quite a rapid pace, proving itself as a manufacturer of excellent but low-cost sporting equipment.

The [amazon link=”B09B72CD2R” title=”MoKo golf alignment sticks” /] are no exception.

The sticks are also made of aluminum, so they are incredibly sturdy and difficult to break or bend even though they are thinner than others.

They are available in various colors, so you can ensure that yours will stand out clearly no matter what surface you’re practicing on. You also get two 48-inch collapsible sticks in one package.

The sticks come in a sturdy transparent plastic tube case, so you don’t have to buy an alignment stick cover unless you want something flatter to fit inside your golf bag more easily.

As strong as the MoKos are, it has two points of weakness in the form of the joints. They don’t use screw-in joints like the Kammity sticks, sporting the same tent peg-like elbow design as fiberglass and plastic models. An accidental hit to one of these joints may cause irreparable damage to your golf alignment stick.

6. Longridge Tour Rodz

[amazon box = “B007H3WSSK” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

Longridge’s[amazon link=”B007H3WSSK” title=”Tour Rodz” /] are some of the most popular golf alignment sticks in various online stores. Longridge is a well-known brand, after all, which adds a lot of credibility and trust to Tour Rodz.

The sticks come in transparent plastic tubes containing two extendible 48-inch rods. There are also two connectors that allow you to connect multiple rods in different patterns to allow for more training options.

As a bonus, Longridge includes a booklet with alignment drills that you can perform with these sticks in particular. The instructions are clear and easy to understand, for the most part. The sticks are high quality, strong, and durable.

Unfortunately, it seems that there might be some packaging problems at Longridge’s factories since a few users have complained they did not receive all of the components in their package. However, Longridge is generally quick to fix the problem.

7. The Pitch Assist Magnetic Club Alignment Stick

[amazon box = “B07BGWSDRP” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

[amazon link=”B07BGWSDRP” title=”Pitch Assist’s” /] magnetic club alignment stick is another one that’s quite different from the other golf alignment sticks on this list. Its primary purpose is to assist with your chipping and putting.

The magnetic end attaches to any of your iron clubs so you can accurately see where you will be sending the ball. It is a sturdy device that can help any player, whether you’re left-handed or right-handed.

Even though it is slightly more expensive than others, many golfers prefer this type of alignment stick since it gives you a clearer view of the direction. Unfortunately, it does not help with your posture since you have no guide to align your body. But you can play the ball with the magnet stick attached to the club, which helps significantly.

However, keep in mind that the manufacturers specify it’s mainly for chipping and putting. Though you might be able to use it for driving (if you have a compatible driver), the magnet isn’t guaranteed to hold for such intense swings, and it could cause damage to the alignment stick or for the stick to fall off the club and get lost.

8. Longridge Pro Golf Alignment Sticks

[amazon box = “B082DX1VBR” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

We already covered a Longridge option in this list, but this is the Pro edition, and its offering is slightly different (and better).

The [amazon link=”B082DX1VBR” title=”Longridge Pro” /] package includes three aluminum alignment sticks. Two of them are 44 inches long, while the third is half the length at 22 inches. They come in a more durable PVC tube, which is sturdy enough to use as a long-term alignment stick cover.

Like the Tour Rodz, these come with two connectors that you can use to connect the three sticks in various configurations depending on your needs and requirements. The connectors are also the only way to connect or extend the Pro sticks, so they don’t have the inherent weak spots that others have in the form of joints.

The kit also includes a booklet with several clearly explained and easy-to-follow drills, allowing you to use the alignment sticks optimally.

The Longridge Pro golf alignment sticks may not seem all that different from the Tour Rodz at first glance, but once you start using them, you can clearly see that the Pro edition is a much sturdier and more reliable product. It’s designed to withstand more hard use and last far longer.

9. Billisa Golf Alignment Sticks With Cover

[amazon box = “B0922CFMVG” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

The [amazon link=”B0922CFMVG” title=”Billisa” /] golf alignment kit is another one that’s a bit different from the rest. It comes with two 48-inch golf alignment sticks like most others, but it also has a helpful swing plate that comes with it.

The system was developed by a group of PGA professional golf players and has proven to be an invaluable swing and alignment training tool.

The swing plate allows you to set up your system to practice on any surface, with easy positioning gaps to place the sticks in any position you require for the particular shot you want to train. You can set it up in an out-of-the-way position so that it doesn’t feel quite intrusive like some other alignment sticks.

The plate does make this kit a bit bulky, so it is less comfortable to transport, but it comes with a handy alignment stick cover to carry it around. It is also more difficult to adjust since you have to loosen screws to change the angles.

The Billisa’s build quality is excellent, though. The plate and sticks can withstand quite a lot of brutal handling before they break, so it’s great for groups of teenage golfers, but it’s equally great for seasoned players to warm up and fine-tune their technique.

10. The Elixir Golf Alignment Sticks

[amazon box = “B00SSYCXIC” template=”horizontal” description_items=”3″]

[amazon link=”B00SSYCXIC” title=”The Elixir’s” /] offering is similar to some of the others featured here, with some slight differences. The kit comes with two 36-inch alignment sticks that are quite a bit shorter than most, which isn’t as ideal for aiming, but they fit in a golf bag much more comfortably.

There are also two 90-degree connectors to set the sticks at angles to get your aim just right, and everything fits comfortably in a transparent tube case. The sticks are made of solid fiberglass that won’t break easily, and their shorter length also helps make them a bit more robust than most.

Unfortunately, the carrier tube isn’t of excellent quality, so you might want to replace that with a proper alignment stick cover at some point. The sticks are also a bit thinner than the gaps in the connectors, so it’s not a simple matter of picking it up as one unit if you want to move it. These are not deal-breakers, though, since the sticks do what they are supposed to.

The Elixir is an excellent option for golfers looking for something small and lightweight to give them a slight edge.

Conclusion: Top-Rated Golf Alignment Sticks for 2024

Conclusion Best Golf Alignment Sticks

Golf alignment sticks will assist you in improving your game in small but noticeable ways, giving you that slight edge over the competition.

The best options come with some bonuses, like guide holes and positioning supports, but in the end, it’s for you to decide which golf alignment sticks will be the best fit for your needs (and budget).

How to Use Alignment Sticks

More in instruction:.

The Essential Practice Aid

Whether you call them alignment sticks, alignment rods, driveway markers, or by one of the brand names for the fancy wooden versions, this is the one training aid that literally every golfer on the planet should have in their bag.  Why?  They’re cheap, they’re versatile, and they’re absolutely necessary to building a great practice station.  How do you use them?  Let’s count the ways.

tour sticks alignment sticks

Alignment Stick Use #1 – Alignment

The namesake use is the most common and most important way to use alignment rods.  You can place sticks in any number of positions to check your aim or alignment.  My preferred method is to have one stick outside of the ball and another along my toes.  You can also place a stick along your heels, inside the ball, behind the ball, or in front of the ball.

tour sticks alignment sticks

A couple thoughts on setting up the sticks.  First, make sure you’re careful about aiming the sticks .  Take the time to stand behind them and check that they are pointed where you think they are.  Checking your alignment has no value if you’re aimed at the wrong thing.

Also, keep in my that any sticks that aren’t in line with the golf ball should not be pointed at your target – they should be slightly right or left of it .  This is a subtle point that many people miss.

tour sticks alignment sticks

Finally, if you are using more than one stick, it’s important to make sure they’re parallel to each other .  I like to use a golf club to check that the two ends of the sticks are equidistant from each other, as shown above.

Alignment Stick Use #2 – Ball Position

Consistent ball position is critical to high level ball striking.  To check your ball position, you need one alignment stick but two is preferable.  With one stick, place the rod between your feet pointed at the ball.

If you have two sticks, place one along your toe line, aimed just left of your target.  Place the second stick perpendicular to the first, aimed at the ball.  The reason that I strongly prefer using two alignment sticks is that it’s much easier to have consistent ball position with a consistent target line.

tour sticks alignment sticks

Alignment Stick Use #3 – Swing Path

Alignment rods can also be used as a visual cue to change your swing path.  As with ball position, you can do this with one stick but two or three is better.  Start out by setting a stick along your toe line aimed just left of your target.  Then take a second stick, place it a few inches behind the ball or in front of the ball, and aim it along your desired swing path.

Do keep in mind that the alignment sticks will be an exaggeration of your actual swing path .  This is not only OK, it’s necessary if you’re making a big change.  Moving the sticks 2 degrees from parallel won’t be noticeable, plus you’ll need to exaggerate the feel if you’re trying to change your swing.

tour sticks alignment sticks

Alignment Stick Use #4 – Swing Plane

This is a slightly more advanced usage that A) requires more precision in set up and B) can risk breaking your alignment rods.  You may use this for slow motion swings only, at least at first.  All that said, it’s a great way to get immediate feedback on where your swing is.

Start by putting one alignment stick down on your toe line.  Next, set up to a ball so you know where your club will be.  After that, shove an alignment stick into the ground so that you will have to swing over or under it, depending on what movement you’re trying to ingrain.  This is where the precision comes in: if the stick is too close, too far, or at the wrong angle, you’ll be ingraining the wrong movement.

Alignment Stick Uses #5-#7 – On the Green

There are numerous ways to use alignment sticks on the green.  You can start with setting up square alignment to your target as you did on the range.

tour sticks alignment sticks

Alignment sticks can also form an alley for the putter or the golf ball.  If you’re trying to make a straight back, straight through stroke, set a stick on either side of the putter and swing the putter between them.  Similarly, you can set up a channel for the ball to see just how pure your start line is.  Keep in mind that for this feedback to be accurate, you’ll need a perfectly straight putt.

tour sticks alignment sticks

Finally, an alignment stick can be used as part of a drill to work on your distance control.  Place an alignment stick behind the cup perpendicular to your path to the hole and try to keep the ball between the cup and the stick.  The closer the stick is to the hole, the more demanding the drill is.

It’s very easy to nudge your alignment sticks out of position, especially if they’re close to your toes or near the ball.  To save yourself the hassle of resetting them, use a couple tees to either mark the location of the alignment sticks or lock them into place.

I’ve found that it’s important to put them back in your bag as soon as you are done. That way you have them for next time. 🤔

Ha! Very true. I’ve found that a big advantage to an alignment stick cover is that it keeps me from leaving the sticks on the range.

You can use alignment sticks in your belt holders to check the amount of turn in your swing. Also used vertically to check leg &/OR foot movement.

Those are good ones, thank you!

I have the collapsible type of sticks, held together by an elastic cord. They’re bright red and white and stand-out well. Carry them folded in the long pocket of my bag with the zipper holding the protruding ends snuggly. Thanks Matt; great advice!

An alignment stick shoved down the end-hole in the golf club’s grip, creating instant feedback to the rib cage when the post swing follow-through isn’t long enough or there is not enough release in one’s follow-through swing~!

Great information on the alignment sticks, I can’t wait to try it.

Instruction

This is a small but growing trend on tour driving ranges—players explain why

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/riley.jpg

PGA Tour players tend to move in packs. Once one player starts doing something a little differently, the peers will take notice. Once that player starts playing well, suddenly you'll start seeing their methods pop up anyway.

Alignment sticks are hardly anything new on the PGA Tour, which is something amateur golfers should take note of. You can't walk more than a few feet on a tour driving range without seeing a player practicing with at least one. At an amateur driving range, you'd be lucky if you found one at all.

Traditionally, players set an alignment stick alongside a player's toes, which should run parallel to the target line. Line up your toes against the stick, and you'll prevent a stance that's too open or closed.

But recently, I've noticed those alignment rods on tour getting further from the feet, and closer to the golf ball. At times, the alignment rod is almost flush against the clubhead as they're hitting the ball itself.

There are two reasons for this.

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2022/clips.jpeg

1. Aim the clubface

The first, and most obvious, is because it helps aim the clubface.

Where your feet are pointing matters, obviously, but the direction the clubface is pointing at impact is the primary factor in where the golf ball is going to go. AKA, if the clubface is pointing to the left, the ball will probably go left.

Placing an alignment stick, or a club, flush with the clubhead, helps pros check and make sure their clubface is pointing in their intended direction. Both the stick and the clubface should be pointing at their intended target.

"I hit draws, and my tendency is to aim too far to the right, and start hitting big draws," Eric Cole explains. "I focus a lot on my aim. It's a simple thing that helps me hit better shots."

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Golf Digest (@golfdigest)

2. Obstruct a severe swing direction

Outside of simple clubface awareness, players use an alignment stick on the ground, near the golf ball, to monitor their golf swing's direction .

If golfers tend to swing too far in-to-out, they'll place the alignment stick slightly inside the golf ball. If they tend to swing too far out-to-in, or over-the-top, they'll put the stick, or club, slightly outside the golf ball.

In both cases, the goal is simple: To swing so you miss the stick, which means your swing path is landing in a relatively neutral spot.

As pros explain:

"I've always responded really well to using obstacles, and forcing my body to figure out how to swing around them," Justin Thomas said.

Ryan Palmer adds:

"Every time I go and practice, I practice with a purpose. When I go to the range...I'll make sure I'm going there with the drive and desire to work. If I don't feel like I'm ready to practice and I'm just kind of tired or my mind is thinking of something else, I'll go home. I don't go practice or hit balls because I feel like I have to," Palmer says. "This is a small thing that helps me do that."

Election latest: Farage urged to 'get a grip' of Reform UK amid racism row

John Healey, the shadow defence secretary, has urged Nigel Farage to "get a grip" of Reform UK after a racism row involving the prime minister. It comes as a Reform UK canvasser who used a racial slur against Rishi Sunak called himself a "total fool" and said he has learned his lesson.

Reform UK has withdrawn support from three of its candidates, the party has confirmed.

Nigel Farage's party is no longer backing Edward Oakenfull, Robert Lomas, and Leslie Lilley - who were all previously candidates for Reform.

Mr Oakenfull reportedly penned social media posts about the IQ of sub-Saharan Africans - which he told the BBC were "taken out of context".

Meanwhile, Mr Lomas allegedly said black people should "get off [their] lazy arses" and stop acting "like savages".

Ms Lilley is accused of describing people arriving on small boats as "scum".

The candidates will remain on the ballot paper, but are no longer endorsed by Reform UK.

It comes as Sky News identified two additional Reform UK parliamentary candidates who shared material deemed "vile" and in breach of the internationally-recognised definition of antisemitism.

The Welsh electorate has travelled in one direction for the last 100 years.

Labour always win more votes and seats than their rivals in Wales but, floating our parliamentary bench on a barge across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, we discover not everything is as tranquil as it seems in this stunning beauty spot.

The 20mph speed limit, wind farms and waiting times on the NHS are all matters raised by people who are not happy with Labour's record in the Senedd.

The first person we meet is Reuben Jones, who works at the local barge hire company adjacent to the aqueduct.

"I'm a transgender person," says Reuben. "I'm very unhappy with the state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts at the moment. There are a lot of issues with the education system, a lot of problems with the health care system.

Our live poll tracker collates the results of opinion surveys carried out by all the main polling organisations - and allows you to see how the political parties are performing in the run-up to the general election.

With under a week to go, the Tories and Labour have taken a drop, while support for Reform UK and the Liberal Democrats is on the rise.

First Minister of Scotland John Swinney has joined criticism of "racist and homophobic comments" allegedly made by Reform UK campaigners.

Despite this, he said they are "not a surprise to me".

Mr Swinney, also the leader of the SNP, said: "I think this is where the politics of Reform ends up and I deplore it. I deprecate it. I want nothing to do with it.

"We will always rail against racist and homophobic comments, and I can't believe that there's a single thing Nigel Farage can do to control a problem that he himself has started."

The SNP leader goes on to claim that this is not a case of bad apples, but "an ingrained problem of Reform".

He says: "Nigel Farage has set this all up. He has stoked it all.

"With every word over all these years, he has incited all that intolerance and prejudice in our society.

"I want to have nothing to do with it.

"And I don't think there's anything Nigel Farage can do to stop it, because he created it."

Reform UK has reported Channel 4 to the elections watchdog for alleged "scandalous... interference" over what the party claims was a fake rant planted by the broadcaster.

Footage from an undercover Channel 4 reporter showed Reform campaigner Andrew Parker using a discriminatory term about the prime minister, as well as saying the army should "just shoot" migrants crossing the Channel.

Police are now assessing the comments to establish if an offence has been committed, while Mr Sunak  said the insult directed at him "hurts and it makes me angry".

Mr Farage, the leader of Reform UK, has since suggested that Channel 4 may have paid an actor to make racist comments about the prime minister, posing as a canvasser for Reform.

In a letter to the Electoral Commission, party secretary and leading barrister Adam Richardson claimed that "Mr Parker is not a property developer as he has alleged but a jobbing actor".

He added it was "entirely evident that Mr Parker was a plant within the Channel 4 news piece".

The letter said: "It is wholly unbelievable that by complete coincidence Channel 4 were performing an undercover investigation and by chance were paired up to go canvassing with a man who was pretending to be someone else, using a false voice and saying almost exclusively racist and bigoted remarks."

Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, has said he is refusing to appear on Laura Kuenssberg's Sunday morning politics show until the BBC apologise for a "dishonest" audience.

He claimed this audience existed during his appearance on Question Time.

Mr Farage says: "I have just been invited to appear on Laura Kuenssberg.

"I'm refusing until the BBC apologises for their dishonest QT audience.

"Our state broadcaster has behaved like a political actor throughout this election.

"Reform will be campaigning vigorously to abolish the license fee."

Sir Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, has insisted that his party shares "no values with Nigel Farage" in the wake of a new racism row.

It comes after Mr Farage, the leader of Reform UK, suggested that Channel 4 may have paid an actor to make racist comments about the prime minister, posing as a canvasser for Reform.

Sir Ed says: "Liberal Democrats share no values with Mr. Farage. He can sort himself out. My job as a Liberal Democrat leader is to tell you what we're about.

"I want to fight a positive campaign about how we rescue our NHS and make sure we get the investment in health and care. Make sure we sort out the cost of living problems that people are really suffering under, and deal with things like the environmental issues, like sewage.

"You know, and I think people get fed up in this campaign when there's all these diversions and nastiness. They want to know what you're going to do for them.

"And that's what the Liberal Democrats are going to say."

The Archbishop of Canterbury urged people to avoid "personalised abuse" in the closing stages of the election campaign as he encouraged voters to go to the ballot box.

The Most Reverend Justin Welby said: "In these last few days before the election, let us pray for all candidates taking part in this most essential act of democracy.

"Let us encourage courteous and kind debate and not use personalised abuse.

"Let us carefully consider issues and the common good, and above all vote."

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told former soldiers of his plans for a veterans' bill, if the Tories are re-elected, during a campaign visit in his North Yorkshire constituency.

Mr Sunak drunk tea and munched on a cake at the Ellerton Lakeside Cafe, near Northallerton, as he chatted with about a dozen veterans who had gathered for Armed Forces Day, joking that: "You need a lot of sugar to get through my day."

Listening to the men, he said: "That's why we now have, like they do in the US, we have a dedicated office for veteran's affairs, a minister in the cabinet, funding.

"So, we're at the start of that journey."

He said: "If we're re-elected, we're actually going to have a veteran's bill, we're going to pass our first ever veteran's bill in parliament.

"That will bring together all the things that we need to do - put some things in law that will improve the service that we've providing.

"That hasn't happened before - a flagship veteran's bill that (veterans' minister) Johnny Mercer's been working on which will just continue to improve the support."

Mr Sunak listened as he was told about initiatives to tackle veterans' homelessness, mental health problems and issues facing service families at the nearby Catterick Garrison.

He said: "We want to make sure all of you get the support you are entitled to."

By Ben Bloch , political reporter

Two Reform UK parliamentary candidates have shared material deemed "vile" and in breach of the internationally-recognised definition of antisemitism.

Candidates of the right-wing party have previously shared on social media material defending Adolf Hitler, denying the Holocaust, conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family and Jewish financier George Soros, denial of antisemitism, and comparisons of the state of Israel with Nazi Germany.

The uncovering of these social media posts, in a dossier compiled by the Campaign Against Antisemitism and verified by Sky News, raises yet further questions about the vetting process undertaken by  Reform UK  ahead of nominating these candidates to stand for parliament.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has threatened to take legal and police action against a vetting firm, Vetting.com, saying it was paid £144,000 to carry out candidate checks but "not a single piece of work was delivered", and alleged political bias.

South Korea summons Russia's ambassador over Moscow's new pact with North as inter-Korean tensions keep rising

Updated on: June 21, 2024 / 3:56 AM EDT / CBS/AP

Seoul, South Korea — South Korea summoned the Russian ambassador to protest Moscow's new defense pact with North Korea on Friday as tensions at the Koreas' heavily fortified border continued to rise with vague threats from Pyongyang and brief, seemingly accidental incursions by North Korean troops.

Earlier Friday, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un issued a vague threat of retaliation after South Korean activists flew balloons carrying anti-Pyongyang propaganda leaflets across the border, and South Korea's military said it had fired warning shots the previous day to repel North Korean soldiers who briefly crossed the rivals' land border for the third time this month .

That came two days after Moscow and Pyongyang reached a pact vowing mutual defense assistance if either is attacked, and a day after Seoul responded by saying it would consider providing arms to Ukraine to fight Russia's invasion .

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin shaking hands

South Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong Kyun summoned Russian Ambassador Georgy Zinoviev to protest the deal between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un and called for Moscow to immediately halt its alleged military cooperation with Pyongyang.

Kim, the South Korean diplomat, stressed that any cooperation that directly or indirectly helps the North build up its military capabilities would violate U.N. Security Council resolutions and pose a threat to the South's security and warned of consequences for Seoul's relations with Moscow.

Zinoviev replied that he would convey Seoul's concerns to his superiors in Moscow, the South Korean ministry said. Reuters reports that Zinoviev said he told Kim threats and blackmail against Moscow over its growing ties to Pyongyang are unacceptable.

Leafletting campaigns by South Korean civilian activists in recent weeks have prompted a resumption of Cold War-style psychological warfare along the inter-Korean border.

SKOREA-NKOREA-CONFLICT

The South Korean civilian activists, led by North Korean defector Park Sang-hak, said it sent 20 balloons carrying 300,000 propaganda leaflets, 5,000 USB sticks with South Korean pop songs and TV dramas and 3,000 U.S. dollar bills from the South Korean border town of Paju on Thursday night.

Pyongyang resents such material and fears it could demoralize front-line troops and residents and eventually weaken Kim Jong Un's grip on power, analysts say.

In a statement carried by North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency, Kim Yo Jong, one of her brother's top foreign policy officials, called the activists "defector scum" and issued what appeared to be a threat of retaliation.

"When you do something you were clearly warned not to do, it's only natural that you will find yourself dealing with something you didn't have to," she said, without specifying what the North would do.

After previous leafletting by South Korean activists, North Korea launched more than 1,000 balloons that dropped tons of trash in South Korea, smashing roof tiles and windows and causing other property damage. Kim Yo Jong previously hinted that balloons could become the North's standard response to leafletting, saying that the North would respond by "scattering dozens of times more rubbish than is being scattered on us."

In response, South Korea resumed anti-North Korea propaganda broadcasts with military loudspeakers installed at the border for the first time in years, to which Kim Yo Jong, in another state media statement, warned that Seoul was "creating a prelude to a very dangerous situation."

Tensions between the Koreas are at their highest in years as Kim Jong Un accelerates his nuclear weapons and missile development and attempts to strengthen his regional footing by aligning with Putin in a standoff against the U.S.-led West.

South Korea, a growing arms exporter with a well-equipped military backed by the United States, says it's considering upping support for Ukraine in response. Seoul has already provided humanitarian aid and other support while joining U.S.-led economic sanctions against Moscow. But it hasn't directly provided munitions, citing a long-standing policy of not supplying weapons to countries actively engaged in conflict.

Putin told reporters in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Thursday that supplying weapons to Ukraine would be "a very big mistake" and said South Korea "shouldn't worry" about the new agreement with North Korea if the South isn't planning aggression against Pyongyang.

South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul on Friday held separate phone calls with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa to discuss the new pact. The diplomats agreed that the agreement poses a serious threat to peace and stability in the region and vowed to strengthen trilateral coordination to deal with the challenges posed by the alignment between Moscow and Pyongyang, Cho's ministry said in a statement.

North Korea is extremely sensitive to criticism of Kim's authoritarian rule and efforts to reach its people with foreign news and other media.

In 2015, when South Korea restarted loudspeaker broadcasts for the first time in 11 years, North Korea fired artillery rounds across the border, prompting South Korea to return fire, according to South Korean officials. No casualties were reported.

South Korea's military said there are signs that North Korea was installing its own speakers at the border, although they weren't working yet.

In the latest border incident, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said several North Korean soldiers engaged in unspecified construction work briefly crossed the military demarcation line that divides the two countries at around 11 a.m. Thursday.

The South Korean military broadcast a warning and fired warning shots, after which the North Korean soldiers retreated. The joint chiefs didn't immediately release more details, including why it was releasing the information a day late.

South Korea's military says believes recent border intrusions weren't intentional, since the North Korean soldiers haven't returned fire and retreated after the warning shots.

The South's military has observed the North deploying large numbers of soldiers in frontline areas to build suspected anti-tank barriers, reinforce roads and plant mines in an apparent attempt to fortify their side of the border. Seoul believes the efforts are likely aimed at preventing North Korean civilians and soldiers from escaping to the South.
