Rock Believer-Tour 2023

Olympic hall.

SCORPIONS

The Scorpions are as old as the Olympic Park: they have been playing together under this name for more than half a century, since their foundation in 1972: The band around the legendary founders and frontmen Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker. Last year their anniversary tour was cancelled due to a pandemic, but now the Scorpions will finally make up for it - and come to the Olympic Hall on 5 June 2023.

It all started with a lonely crow: "Lonesome Crow" was the Scorpions' debut album, released in February 1972. It was the beginning of a unique success story. To date, Germany's most successful hard rock band of all time has sold more than 120 million records and played over 5000 concerts worldwide. Their big hits achieved cult status and still cannot be missing from any playlist of the greatest rock classics: "Still Loving You", "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and, of course, "Wind of Change", which became the anthem for the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In 2022, the 19th studio album of the band around the congenial duo Meine/Schenker was released: On "Rock Believer", the Scorpions returned to their great times in the 1980s in purely musical terms. "We played as a band all together in one room and recorded the songs, just like we did back in the 80s," said Klaus Meine after the release. "We can't wait to get going again, to finally play for our fans again." After a long enforced break, they finally get to do that: on 5 June 2023 also in the Olympic Hall.

I sold my tickets because Five Points amphitheatre is the worst venue I have ever been to. The only time I have enjoyed a show there is when buying VIP front and Center seats and even then there security is the worst. Last show the people I knew from the meet and greet with Foreigner spent between 900 and 2000 for a paid of tickets yet when I walked down to the stage Indis not get stopped once and asked for my ticket. I learned against the rail against the stage with the aisle behind me and never was told to leave the area and neither was anyone who paid $49 for baxkrow seats. When you sit in the upper section, meaning 300's, there is no security, the seats are temporary, and its a bit more cramped then the airlines. Of someone moves, the entire section moves, and the entire row has to clear the row because it is impossible to get buy. Of anything happens in the upper sections, which is very possible seeing that everytime you get to your seat you have to ask someone who doesnt belong there to move. And when I sat 2nd row, I had at least 10 different neighbors from people climbing over the seats. With such

The band was exceptional, the lights magical, sound a bit of a problem at the beginning, but grew better towards the end of the show, especially when singing their older songs.

The Athens State Orchestra did not manage to see, except the last song - the one with Shenker - as I was entering the stadium, because, even though I had the most expensive VIP ticket (with numbered seat), I - among most of the crowd - could not enter, since there where NO lines, NOONE from the production company, NO security to help and guide us. As a result, the concert began as sceduled, at 21:00 sharp ad all of us were outside trying - I got pushed over, squeezed etc - to get in. Because of that - the entrance delay - they did not check our tickets (nobody was at the gates any way) so whoever wanted to enter the stadium - with NO ticket - could by all means enter. When entered the stadium there were AGAIN nobody to escort or show us to our seats, with limited lighting, and when we FINALLY found our seats there were people seating already refusing to get up - since they told us that people from the organisation told them to seat WHEREVER they wished, since there was no time to seat them and obviously without entry control we were outnumbered - and spend about 30 minutes trying to convince them for the obvious: to get up and let us seat on our NUMBERED seats, while searching for SOMEONE from the production company to assist. The stairs were full of people (this is against safety policy) and I managed to get down to arena after stepping on hands (it was dark as I mentioned earlier) to find someone in charge....NOONE, only one security guy who wasn't authorised to help with the situation and finally a "staff" who told me that he was a driver and would try to find someone to assist. They had NO CBs to intercommunicate and were running up and down to find whomever they were searching for. Finally, the paramedics, also had NO CBs and as we saw a girl in distress form above we were trying to communicate through signals that they should speed to the spot. The production company - I've never heard of them in Greece - are plain potential murderers.

The show of the concert was great, but we didn't really see the collusion of the band with the symphonic orchestra. The orchestra came, played their part, and after that we never saw them again. The sould could be better. The legendary Scorpions gave it all though. They made as feel good and they carried as away!

The organization was not good. Two small entrances for sooo many people. That lead to huge queues. I felt there was not so much security, during the check of the tickets.

It was great seeing Kallimarmaro full, from people who came to enjoy Scorpions!

Great experience. Could be much better.

Scorpions Reveal New Album Title + 2022 European Tour Dates

Scorpions fans have been patiently waiting for news concerning the band's next album and the group has given the first key details about the upcoming set, announcing that the title will be Rock Believer and that it will be arriving in February 2022.

Though the group did not confirm a firm release date, they also revealed that the first song from the Rock Believer album would be coming soon. How soon? October 2021 is the target for the first track, so it's time to get ready for new music. The group recorded the album live in one room primarily at the Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover, Germany.

And in addition to revealing the album title and general months in which fans could expect the album and first single, the band also confirmed that they will be on tour both in Europe and the U.S., though the latter is their already confirmed Las Vegas residency.

After spending time at the Zappos Theater in Las Vegas for an extended run in late March and April, Scorpions will return to Europe where they'll kick off a fresh tour leg on May 10 in Lisbon, Portugal with Mammoth WVH providing support on select dates. The tour is expected to run through July 2 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. See all the scheduled stops below.

Scorpions announce ‘Colours of Rock’ vinyl re-release of 12 iconic albums

James Daykin

Saying that the Scorpions can look back on an eventful history as a band would be an understatement. Their spectacular story is now becoming a new and very colourful experience: With Scorpions – Colours of Rock, BMG is announcing the reissue of twelve album highlights by the legendary German hard rock band who have shaped the music world – now appearing on coloured vinyl.   Alongside versions of Fly To The Rainbow,  In Trance , Virgin Killer and Humanity (Hour 1), remastered for the first time ever, are further handpicked treasures including Savage Amusement, World Wide Live, Love at First Sting, Blackout, Animal Magnetism, Lovedrive, Tokyo Tapes and Taken By Force.   The reissued albums can be pre-ordered exclusively  HERE  starting on 2 March, 2023. They will be released on 5 May, 2023, only days before the Scorpions embark on the European leg of their ‘Rock Believer’ World Tour, which will have previously taken them across South America – from El Salvador via Colombia, Brazil and Argentina to Chile – during the first months of the year.   Relentless success, constant musical evolution, and ass-kicking performances worldwide; the multifaceted vinyl colours of these twelve reissues are just as colourful and eclectic as the career path of the biggest German rock band has been and still is to this day. The colours chosen for the vinyl versions not only reflect the iridescent band history, but they are also paired with the style of the original artwork of each individual album.   A particular treat for hard-core Scorpions fans, of course, must be the four albums remastered for the first time in history:   The Scorpions’ second studio album Fly To The Rainbow from 1974 differs style-wise considerably compared to their debut Lonesome Crow. Although it marked a departure into a more experimental direction, the album displayed deep influences from hard rock and gave us a first glimpse of where the band’s music would be taking us in the future. It is the first album by the Scorpions on which they alone were responsible for production. For the reissue, it is being released on transparent violet vinyl.   With In Trance, their subsequent third studio album, the Scorpions made their breakthrough in Japan. The eponymous hit is joined on the album by ‘Night Lights’, the band’s first instrumental piece. It is the first work by the Scorpions recorded together with producer Dieter Dierks, a long-time companion and business associate. The transparent vinyl of the new version brings back memories of the legendary original artwork by photographer Michael von Gimbut.   A remastered version of the Scorpions’ shortest album is also being reissued on powder blue vinyl – the 35-minute Virgin Killer. The fourth studio album by the band from Hannover was released in 1976. It is their first album to go Gold in Japan. This took the group one step further away from their psychedelic roots and deeper into the realm of hard rock.   The remastered treasures are complemented by Humanity (Hour 1) which was released in 2007. The concept album was produced in Los Angeles by legendary producer dream team Desmond Child and James Michael. Klaus Meine was looking for a very modern sound, without wanting to lose the slightest bit of the Scorpions’ character in the process. To achieve this, he combined the early Scorpions sound on this album with that of their later productions. The 21 st  studio album by the hard rock legends was pressed on gold vinyl for the new version.   The four remastered albums are joined by eight further carefully selected classics:   Taken By Force, released in 1977, is now coming out pressed on white vinyl, featuring songs like ‘Steamrock Fever’, ‘He’s A Woman – She’s A Man’ or the ballad ‘Born To Touch Your Feelings’. It marks the last studio album with Uli Jon Roth and the first with drummer Herman Rarebell. Next up is Tokyo Tapes (1978), a magnificent live album now reissued on yellow vinyl. This is an excellent opportunity to (re)discover the music the Scorpions wrote before their life as superstars.   Originally released in 1979, Lovedrive marked the beginning of a new era in the history of the band, already bearing the hallmarks of what would be the signature of the band’s music for the decades to come. It is now being reissued on red vinyl. To record the following album, Animal Magnetism, the Scorpions went into the studio pressured by an extremely tight schedule between two tours. Who knows? Never-the-less, or perhaps precisely why, they succeeded in creating such an innovative masterpiece. The milestone released in 1980, and their first album to go Platinum in the USA, has now been pressed on red vinyl.   Their eighth studio album Blackout then followed in 1982, catapulting the band forevermore onto the Mount Olympus of hard rock. What could be more befitting of the legendary artwork by Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein than crystal-clear vinyl?     This LP was followed only one year later by Love at First Sting, the most successful album of their long career – bringing us hits like ‘Still Loving You’ and ‘Rock You Like A Hurricane’. The album, the cover of which was shot by Helmut Newton, entered the Top 10 in numerous countries, and made it to No. 6 of the US charts. It is now being released on silver vinyl.   For World Wide Live, originally released in 1985 and now being reissued on transparent orange vinyl, a film crew followed the band’s caravan across the USA, Asia and Europe all the way to South America. The footage captures the electrifying intensity of their shows. The reissue is made complete by Savage Amusement from 1988, now pressed on transparent light-blue vinyl. For this album, they barricaded themselves in the studio for almost three years together with producer Dieter Dierks where they worked on the successor to follow in the footsteps of their greatest albums. The result of which seamlessly picked up right where their previous albums left off. Successfully.   Reissued collectively under the title Scorpions – Colours of Rock are the following twelve album highlights from 1974 to 2007:

  • Fly To The Rainbow  (1974): 180g 1LP, pressed on transparent violet vinyl
  • In Trance  (1975): 180g 1LP, pressed on transparent vinyl
  • Virgin Killer  (1976): 180g 1LP, pressed on powder blue vinyl
  • Taken By Force  (1977): 180g 1LP, pressed on white vinyl
  • Tokyo Tapes  (1978): 180g Gatefold 2LP, pressed on yellow vinyl
  • Lovedrive  (1979): 180g 1LP, pressed on transparent red vinyl
  • Animal Magnetism  (1980): 180g 1LP, pressed on red vinyl
  • Blackout  (1982): 180g 1LP, pressed on crystal-clear vinyl
  • Love at First Sting  (1983): 180g 1LP, pressed on silver vinyl
  • World Wide Live  (1985): 180g Gatefold 2LP, pressed on transparent orange vinyl
  • Savage Amusement  (1988): 180g 1LP, pressed on transparent light blue vinyl
  • Humanity (Hour 1)  (2007): 180g Gatefold 2LP, pressed on gold vinyl

SCORPIONS To Reissue 12 Albums On Colored Vinyl

Saying that SCORPIONS can look back on an eventful history as a band would be an understatement. Their spectacular story is now becoming a new and very colorful experience: With "Scorpions - Colours Of Rock" , BMG is announcing the reissue of 12 album highlights by the legendary German hard rock band who have shaped the music world — now appearing on colored vinyl. Alongside versions of "Fly To The Rainbow" , "In Trance" , "Virgin Killer" and "Humanity (Hour 1)" , remastered for the first time ever, are further handpicked treasures including "Savage Amusement" , "World Wide Live" , "Love At First Sting" , "Blackout" , "Animal Magnetism" , "Lovedrive" , "Tokyo Tapes" and "Taken By Force" . The reissued albums can be preordered starting on March 2, 2023. They will be released on May 5, 2023, only days before SCORPIONS embark on the European leg of their "Rock Believer" world tour, which will have had previously taken them across South America — from El Salvador via Colombia, Brazil and Argentina to Chile — during the first months of the year.

SCORPIONS are undoubtedly amongst the greatest rock bands of all time. The band lineup today includes singer Klaus Meine , SCORPIONS founder Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Pawel Mąciwoda (bass),and Mikkey Dee (drums). The incredible career of the hard rock titans from Hannover, Germany, has already lasted for more than half a century, during which their music has taken the world by storm, selling more than 110 million albums, breaking one record after the other, while continuously evolving and reinventing themselves again and again. It was just last year that they cemented their status as legends with the new album "Rock Believer" : No. 2 in Germany and Switzerland, No. 4 in Austria, Top 20 in the U.K., and Top 60 in the U.S.A. So it comes as no surprise that the SCORPIONS have rocked their way to a reputation as one of the best live bands ever, which they continue to demonstrate this year.

The Scorpions: ‘Colours Of Rock’ vinyls for June 2nd release

The Scorpions: ‘Colours Of Rock’ vinyls for June 2nd release

Coinciding with the start of SCORPIONS European Tour, with Scorpions – Colours of Rock , BMG is reissuing the eventful band history of these hard rock legends in blazing iridescent colour.   The Special Coloured Vinyl Editions will be released on 2 June 2023, and feature five album highlights from throughout their career on a variety of coloured vinyl.    Three of five legendary albums are remastered for the first time from original master tapes: Fly To The Rainbow , In Trance , Virgin Killer

Saying that the Scorpions can look back on an eventful history as a band would be an understatement. Their spectacular story is now becoming a new and very colourful experience: With Scorpions – Colours of Rock , BMG is announcing the reissue of five album highlights by the legendary German hard rock band who have shaped the music world – now appearing on coloured vinyl.   Alongside versions of Fly To The Rainbow , In Trance and Virgin Killer , remastered for the first time ever, are further handpicked treasures including Tokyo Tapes and Taken By Force . The reissued albums can be pre-ordered on https://Scorpions.lnk.to/ColoursOfRock and will be released on June 2nd 2023.   Relentless success, constant musical evolution, and ass-kicking performances worldwide – as colourful and eclectic as the career path of the biggest German rock band has been and still is to this day, just as multifaceted are the vinyl colours of these twelve reissues. The colours chosen for the vinyl versions not only reflect the iridescent band history, they are also paired with the style of the original artwork of each individual album.   A particular treat for hardcore Scorpions fans, of course, must be the four albums remastered for the first time in history:  Fly To The Rainbow (1974) already showed strong hard rock influences and already foreshadowed where the band would later go musically. In Trance (1975) was the Scorpions’ first work recorded together with producer Dieter Dierks. With their shortest album, the 35-minute Virgin Killer (1976), the band moved another step away from psychedelic influences and towards hard rock. The remastered highlights are completed by the 2007 concept album Humanity (Hour 1) , on which Klaus Meine pursued a very modern sound without losing the Scorpions character.

  • Savage Amusement (1988): 180g 1LP, pressed on transparent light-blue vinyl
  • Humanity (Hour 1) (2007): 180g Gatefold 2LP, pressed on gold vinyl
