For individuals in substance use disorder recovery.
Guys gathering to share their success stories at Burlington Recovery Homes with the local newspaper.
Burlington Recovery Homes (BRH) offers a supportive living environment for people in recovery from alcohol or drugs to help them stay sober.
Residents experience the opportunity to support new, sober lives through community living with housemates who are also seeking sobriety- this fosters individual and group accountability.
Life at BRH is managed and supported by House Managers.
The House Manager’s purpose is to help residents accomplish their life and recovery goals and find peace. House Managers are involved in the initial interview to learn about the resident’s background and aspirations. They enjoy getting to know the resident deeper after they settle into BRH and find ways to support and guide residents in achieving their goals.

The Join Our Journey(JOJ), Recovery Housing program in Southeastern Minnesota are more than just a safe place to recover with likeminded people. JOJ is a place where, even when you’re at your lowest point, you can come home to get the support you need. Learning how to better communicate with others, care for yourself, focus on your recovery, and ultimately become a better, happier version of yourself.
The JOJ Story
JOJ launched using the Oxford Model in 2017. It was founded by two members of the Rochester community who dedicated their lives to the recovery community after a long term recovery program helped them overcome their addiction challenges. Today, JOJ houses its "members" in ten homes located in the Olmsted and Mower County areas. Each home houses up to 8 members and one home is designated for women with children. Everyone pays rent, stays active in the recovery community, and provides a healthy contribution to their home.

You don’t recover from substance-abuse challenges just by stopping. You recover by creating a new life where it is easier to not use. Our Homes are all located within safe, family-oriented and upscale communities. Meet our owners, Tiffany Hunsley and Bill Hall. Having personally battled and persevered through substance use challenges themselves, Tiffany and Bill made the decision in 2011 to dedicate their lives to serving others. They help others navigate their way out of the darkness and into a new way to live. These opportunities were not available to them during their own struggles. The plan, create a peer lead recovery home environment that was able to essentially create new patterns of behavior, while maintaining a high level of accountability and affordability that nearly anyone could meet. Today, the JOJ housing program represents their vision of moving Beyond Addiction & leading a life in Recovery.
VOICE AWARDS PROGRAM
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, (SAMHSA’S), Voice Awards program honors people in recovery and their family members who are improving the lives of people with mental illness, substance use disorders, or both in communities across the country. The awards program also recognizes television and film productions that educate the public about behavioral health and showcases that recovery is real and possible through treatment and recovery support.
Tiffany Hunsley, 2016 Voice Award, Consumer / Peer / Family Leadership
Tiffany Hunsley leads a life of long-term recovery and is a mother of four. She is the founder and former executive director of Recovery Is Happening, a recovery community organization that envisions a place where long-term recovery is effectively supported, integrated, and nurtured.
Alcohol And Other Drugs Project
Tiffany’s work with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Alcohol and Other Drugs Project has helped identify ways to improve court-related performance and outcomes for children and families involved in child protection court proceedings. Her successful reunification with her children is a reminder of the overarching goal of the child protection system - getting families back together once it's safe to do so.
Peer recovery support is vital for long-term recovery. Join Our Journey enhances the recovery-oriented system of care by creating a peer-supported recovery program for parents whose lives have been affected by alcohol and other drug addictions. Parent Recovery Partners are parents who have already navigated through recovery, child welfare, chemical health, and the court system. Now, on the other side, they mentor, advocate for, educate and empower other parents currently in or seeking recovery.

Statement of U.S. Bishops’ International Justice and Peace Chairman Amidst Violence in the Holy Land
October 8, 2023
WASHINGTON – In response to the continued tensions and violence that erupted into warfare between Gaza and Israel on October 7, Bishop David J. Malloy of Rockford, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on International Justice and Peace, calls for prayers for peace in the Holy Land:
“On October 7, the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary, the world watched the operation launched from Gaza and the rapid call to arms from Israel that ensued. Almost 50 years to the day of the launch of the 1973 Arab–Israeli War, once again war is spilling out in the Holy Land. With it brings the mounting casualties and hostilities unfolding on all sides, and increased threats to the Status Quo of the Holy Places among Jews, Muslims, and Christians further dimming any hope for peace.
“The world is once again shocked and horrified by the outbreak of ferocious violence in the Holy Land. Reports have surfaced indicating large numbers of wounded and dead, including many civilians.
“I join with Pope Francis in his call for peace and his condemnation of this widespread outbreak of violence. As he stated in his Sunday audience, ‘May the attacks and weaponry cease. Please! And let it be understood that terrorism and war do not lead to any resolutions, but only to the death and suffering of so many innocent people.’
“May all who love the Holy Land seek to bring about among all the parties engaged in the fighting a cessation of violence, respect for civilian populations and the release of hostages.
“As we pray urgently for peace, we recall especially all the families and individuals suffering from these events. We call on the faithful, and all people of good will to not grow weary and to continue to pray for peace in the land Our Lord, the Prince of Peace, called home.”
Land Ethic Statement
Adopted October 2022
The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, together with our Associates, embrace a land ethic that understands “community” to include not only humans but also all created reality. We believe that creation is an overflow of divine love in view of the Incarnation, and expression of God’s never-ending active presence in Jesus Christ. We recognize that all created beings are gifts of God, are interdependent, and exist for the common good.
Our land ethic directs all members of a community to treat one another with respect for the mutual benefit of all. We must care for and share what has been entrusted to us and use it carefully, sparingly, and gratefully. Our position affects the decisions we make about what we use each day and how we dispose of what we can no longer use. It requires continual assessment of the decisions we make about the health and well-being of our lands and buildings, what and how we make purchases, how we dispose our waste, and of what we no longer need, how we source the energy we use each day.
It motivates us to create spaces of beauty, harmony, and diversity wherever we live and minister.
