The Seven Seas Voyager has the unmistakable sense of up-scale American luxury. My Seven Seas Voyager review explains what makes her different from other luxury cruise ships. I detail the most popular suites , rate the restaurants and preview the on board entertainment options . In addition, there are video tours so you can see what this luxury cruise ship is really like. Click on the tabs above to navigate to each part of this review.

  • Chartreuse – the best restaurant at sea.
  • Off-menu dining in Compass Rose.
  • Butler service in premium suites.
  • Lacks a sense of intimacy.
  • Service can be patchy.

The Seven Seas Voyager deck plan is mostly easy to get around. There are a total of 9 passenger decks, the highest of which is deck 12.

  • Reception : Deck 5
  • Accommodation : Decks 6 to 11
  • Main dining room : Deck 4
  • Theatre : Deck 4
  • Observation lounge : Deck 11

Built in Italy and launch in 2003, Seven Seas Voyager is the third cruise ship in the luxury Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet.

Seven Seas Voyager is 206 m. / 677 ft. in length with room for 706 guests. That is about the same number of guests as the newer Seven Seas Explorer. Guests stay in luxurious all-suite, all-balcony accommodation, but unlike many other luxury cruise ships the suites are positioned from bow to stern.

Seven Seas Voyager underwent a major refurbishment in 2016. She now boasts the same elegant style and decor featured on Seven Seas Explorer. Also, the French restaurant called Chartreuse made its debut on Seven Seas Voyager as part of the ship’s refurbishment. This has been a great addition to the onboard dining scene.

Indeed as my Seven Seas Voyager review explains, dining is a delight. There are five excellent venues to choose from , including two specialty restaurants and the spectacular main dining room called Compass Rose.

Also, there are  three sumptuious lounges and there is entertainment most nights in a Broadway-style theatre .

A fully-equipped gym and fitness centre can help burn off unwanted calories, plus there is a luxurious spa offering a range of indulgent treatments to keep you looking good and feeling relaxed.

Your Seven Seas Voyager cruise fare is all-inclusive. Gourmet meals, champagne, fine wines and spirits are all included in the cruise fare. Uniquely, shore excursions are also included. Indeed, once you get onboard there is no need to pay for anything else.

On my review voyage the house champagne was Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut. There will be a bottle waiting in your suite upon embarkation.

You can purchase premium and vintage alcoholic beverages too, however I thought the house offerings were excellent.

Also included in the cruise fare are non-alcoholic beverages, specialty teas and coffees.

Gratuities are also included, which means tipping is not necessary.

In addition, shuttle bus transfers to and from the port are often included. Plus, there is also a handy tote bag to take ashore.

As this Seven Seas Voyager review reveals, dining is a highlight of any sailing. On the whole the quality and presentation   of the produce is impressive.

There are five dining venues to choose from. These include Compass Rose with its European-inspired menu, as well as the Veranda buffet restaurant and the al fresco Pool Grill.

There are also two specialty restaurants – a steakhouse called Prime 7 and the sublimely good French restaurant called Chartreuse.

Light snacks and coffee are served all day at the popular Coffee Connection.

In-suite dining is available 24-hours a day.

The Seven Seas Voyager dress code ranges from casual wear to formal, depending on the time of day.

Casual wear includes resort-style apparel like jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes. It is appropriate only before 6:00pm, with two exceptions: Guests can wear casual anytime they dine at the Pool Grill or Pool Bar; Guests can also wear casual in any venue after 6:00pm on the final night of the cruise.

Otherwise, in the evening guests wear either elegant casual or formal . This is indicated each day in the onboard Passages newsletter.

For ladies elegant casual wear includes skirts, slacks with a blouse or sweater, a pant suit or dress. For gentlemen it is slacks and a collared shirt. Sport jackets are optional and ties are not required.

On formal nights ladies wear gowns and cocktail dresses, while gentlemen dress in tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits with a tie.

Like most cruise lines, the number of formal nights depends on the cruise duration. Cruises of less than 16 days have no formal nights, while longer cruises have at least two formal evenings.

Seven Seas Voyager is a much loved cruise ship and as such she has a loyal following. During my Seven Seas Voyager review sailing the guests generally ranged in age from 35 to 70-years old.

Most guests are from the U.S.A. and they appreciate the upscale luxury onboard. There are also guests from the U.K. and Canada as well as an increasing number of Australians and Europeans.

It’s worth noting that, like all the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet, the Seven Seas Voyager is gay-friendly.

Seven Seas Voyager exudes a sense of luxurious Americana, with tastefully decorated public areas and wonderfully spacious suites. The five restaurants offer some of the best dining at sea. And the resort-style pool is like a floating oasis. Combined with the all-inclusive lifestyle it’s hard to beat.

Thank you for the comprehensive review of the Seven Seas Voyager! We are considering booking a cruise on this vessel and your post has been extremely helpful. All of the added visuals bring this ship to life. We greatly appreciate your efforts and sharing your views and comments. Great work!

Dear Lore Thank you for your kind remarks. I hope you enjoy your cruise on Seven Seas Voyager! Regards Jason

cruise critic seven seas voyager

On this ship in the Med this yr we found the pool area very poor. Evening meals non existent. On th3 last night of our 3 week cruise my husband dressed in polo shirt and long shorts and boaters but not allowed to dine anywhere but the pool area. This was our 3rd a Regent sevenseas Cruise and totally disappointed. Staff were not interested in serving and Cabin staff very poor. Chatreuse very ordinary and we cancelled a second booking. Butter was described as with truffle but when I asked where were the truffle the waiter told me the butter was with flecks of truffle and he couldn’t locate any. Over priced cruise line and total disappointment

cruise critic seven seas voyager

Agree with De above. This is an extremely overpriced cruise line. Very disappointed with the experience.

It claims to be the most luxurious ship ever built, but the service, food, and amenities were all subpar – at most, it rivals a four-star cruise, but this has a 6-star price tag!

I chose this cruise to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday, because it was supposed to be very luxurious. Turns out they didn’t know how to do servicing at all – despite reminding the crew that he’ll be celebrating his birthday on the cruise on the day we boarded as well as when booking the entire trip a few months prior, there was no decorations, no cards, nothing in the room after we returned from the excursion on the day. When I called the front desk to ask what happened, they decided to send someone to put up balloons and a paper sign while my husband was in the room, sitting right in front of them…making it totally meaningless!

Following the failed celebration of his birthday, we came across a series of other crazy encounters, making the entire trip an extremely unenjoyable holiday: 1. Live spider and live bug found in a bowl of berries for room service dining 2. Soiled towel in the bathroom that was stained with streaks of bright brown red, after the bathroom was refreshed and refilled with “new”, “clean” towels 3. Our friend shipped over a bottle of champagne along with a birthday card to surprise my husband. The crew lost the card and only plotted the bottle of champagne in the middle of our room without saying anything….

In terms of the food quality and amenities, these are also below standards. For example, soup onboard is always so salty it’s undrinkable (happened multiple times). The steak at their specialty restaurant was very tough – meat quality was bad to begin with. In terms of amenities, the design of it all was missing the perspective of the customer experience. For example, there was no assigned area where guests can blow dry their hair, powder up, and get ready after using the Spa. You actually have to stand up while blow drying your hair – there are no chairs in the whole spa area. How is that supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience?

cruise critic seven seas voyager

Love this cruise line! Exceptional food and service. Enjoy the diversity of the guests. Made many friends and people with whom I still keep in touch. Excellent program for solo travelers -nightly. Just a fun, relaxing and memorable cruise every time!

Seven Seas Voyager cruise ship

Seven Seas Voyager deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2024-2025-2026 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Regent Seven Seas Cruises deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the Seven Seas Voyager cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Seven Seas Voyager staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

Seven Seas Voyager (2003-built, last refurbished in 2016) is the "newest of the oldest" three RSSC Regent ships - together with  Mariner (2001) and Navigator (1999) . The Regent Voyager was the world’s second 100% “balcony suites” cruise vessel - after Mariner. Regent Voyager was also the second boat offering the “Le Cordon Bleu” gourmet cuisine in the “Signatures” restaurant. Voyager, like all fleetmates, provides all-inclusive cruising experience featuring top-class amenities, exotic ports of call along the itinerary and 100% complimentary food and drinks (alcohol included).

Regent Seven Seas Voyager cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 353 staterooms (all suites) for 706 passengers (max capacity is 777) served by 447 crew-staff. The boat has 12 decks (9 passenger-accessible, 6 with cabins), 4 restaurants, 9 lounges and bars, 1 swimming pool, 2 Jacuzzis (outdoor whirlpool hot tubs), 7 elevators (including 2 panoramic lifts).

Concierge- and self-service laundry facilities are located on cabin decks 6-7-8-9-10.
