Grammy-Nominated Music Sensation Celtic Woman Brings 20 th Anniversary Tour to North America in 2024

On the heels of the successful “Postcards From Ireland,” Celtic Woman will carry on its legacy of uplifting performances packed with breath-taking harmonies and instrumental virtuosity. The group will bring an all-new live show to celebrate its 20th anniversary in North America. The Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour will delight audiences with its fresh blend of traditional and contemporary Irish music that echoes Ireland’s rich musical and cultural heritage while reflecting the vibrant spirit of modern Ireland.

In the 20 years since the global musical sensation’s debut, Celtic Woman has emerged as both a formidable musical presence and a genuine cultural phenomenon. The group’s albums and DVD releases have been consistent multi-platinum best-sellers and its concert tours continue to touch the hearts of a devoted audience that spans the globe. Both an accomplished recording ensemble and a world-class performing collective, Celtic Woman introduces some of Ireland’s most talented singers and musicians to the world stage.

The group’s repertoire encompasses Irish classics, contemporary songs, classical favorites, and stirring originals. The lineup of performers has evolved in the years since the group’s inception but the signature sound of Celtic Woman has remained consistent, showcasing the members’ individual and collaborative talents.

Celtic Woman is comprised of four young Irish women whose performing skills bring centuries of musical and cultural tradition to life. In concert, their angelic voices and instrumental virtuosity are accompanied by a robust ensemble that includes Irish dancers, bagpipers, and a full band playing an array of traditional Celtic instruments, including bodhrán, tin whistle, bouzouki, and Uilleann pipes.

Returning to the group is soprano Mairéad Carlin, a former member who joins the show for this special anniversary tour. Joining her are fellow soprano Muirgen O’Mahony, fiddle and Irish harp maestro Tara McNeill, as well as the newest member of the group, the multi-talented Emma Warren, who has toured with Riverdance, Heartbeat of Home and most recently performed in Les Miserables, London.

20th Anniversary PBS Special

Later this year, PBS will air the accompanying “ 20th ANNIVERSARY ” TV special in North America across 60+ local PBS stations. Filmed in The Helix Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, it takes fans on a journey back to where it all began 20 years ago (and in the very same theatre). The TV special features appearances from four very special guests including original members L isa Kelly, Máiréad Nesbitt, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha and Chloë Agnew — who join Celtic Woman for this wonderful TV special packed with emotional and heart-stirring performances.

20th Anniversary CD and DVD

In January 2024 Celtic Woman released the 20th Anniversary album and DVD. The album features 18 brand-new recordings and is the group’s first new studio album since 2021’s Postcards From Ireland.

The album features new arrangements of beautiful and iconic songs, some new compositions, and of course some fan favourites, including You Raise Me Up & The Parting Glass featuring special guests Lisa Kelly, Máiréad Nesbitt, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha and Chloë Agnew.

The DVD was Filmed in The Helix Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, the recording takes fans on a journey back to where it all began 20 years ago (and in the very same theatre) and features 19 songs, plus 2 bonus songs. 

The DVD features appearances from four very special guests – original members Chloë, Lisa, Máiréad Nesbitt, and Méav – who join Celtic Woman for this wonderful show which is packed with emotional and heart-stirring performances.

Amazing show. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful voices and really care about their fans and their show. You can feel the emoition in the songs.I think it sounds just as good if not better than the digital versions of the songs. The dancers are really great too.

Celtic Women were great, really enjoyed the show, one we will remember.

We just wish Asheville had a better venue that was designed for concerts rather than ball games.

10 out of 10 for Celtic Women but only 4 out of 10 for the venue.

Celtic woman uses big screens to inspire southern california audiences to visit ireland.

After replacing Lisa Lambe as the 11th singer to join the multi-platinum quartet in 2015, McMahon said she fell right into the group’s rapid and heavy schedule, including recording two albums – 2015’s “Destiny” and last year’s “Voices of Angels” – and maintaining a continuous international touring schedule.

“My whole life is incredibly different from what it was, but I wouldn’t change it for the world,” said the 27-year-old, who said she was working for the charity nonprofit Christina Noble Children’s Foundation before she was discovered on YouTube and invited to audition.

“It’s like I’ve found this whole new family who supports each other with everything; if one of us is not feeling well or having a rough day, we lean on each other and lift one another up.”

Celebrating 12 years, the group will return to Southern California to promote “Voices of Angels,” which reached the top of the Billboard World Chart. The stops include the California Theatre for the Performing Arts in San Bernardino on Wednesday, May 24, the Civic Theatre in San Diego on Thursday, May 25, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa on Friday, May 26 and Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, May 27.

The revolving group, which currently consists of McMahon, Mairead Carlin, Susan McFadden and violinist Tara McNeill, will celebrate the musical ensemble’s 12 years of success with its latest album, which blends Irish music and adult contemporary pop. The collection presents some of the group’s most popular songs from their repertoire and previously unrecorded tracks, including “My Heart Will Go On,” “Mo Ghile Mear,” “Amazing Grace” and “You Raise Me Up” – all backed by the 72-piece Orchestra of Ireland.

“This newest album is a mixture of our best that I feel sounds better than ever; so if you’ve seen us before or have never seen us, the concert will be a new and different experience,” said McMahon.

Aside from the music, the concerts present an eyeful for their audience, with images of various scenic locations from all over Ireland projected on large high-definition screens.  McMahon said the point of the images is to transport concertgoers to the country, in hopes of inspiring them to visit Ireland.

And then there are the dresses – stunning evening gowns are worn by the four singers that may be just as visually stimulating as the projections. McMahon said she has always wanted to join the group both for the honor of being a part of the accomplished musical sensation and the opportunity to wear such gorgeous attire each night.

Though the group has seen several lineup changes since it was formed by former musical director of “Riverdance” Davis Downes in 2005, the vocal unit has sustained success, with 10 chart-topping albums that have all debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, and selling over 10 million albums worldwide.

McMahon said she feels like their sisterly bond has helped them stay humble and sane throughout their busy schedule. Before every show, she said they have a ritual that has kept their camaraderie strong:

“We link our hands together and wish each other good luck, almost like a pinky promise that we are all there together and for our fans. This is very ritualistic and I have loved it since I joined.”
