As the street lamps start to glow, live music wafts from every pub doorway and the historic buildings light up. A wander around the twinkling streets is a magical experience in itself, but there are lots of other wonderful ways to spend an evening in Belfast. Whether you want to experience the local nightlife and pub culture, sip fancy cocktails in a glamorous setting, enjoy a night at the theatre or do something a bit unusual, we’ve got you covered with this list of the best things to do at night in Northern Ireland’s capital.

1. Take a food and drink tour

The Irish famously love their drink, especially whiskey. Do as the locals do and spend an evening touring the city’s best whiskey joints, enjoying a tipple or two… or three. Once the lights go down, you won’t have to look far to find live music, modern or traditional. We like the Dirty Onion for Irish folk any night of the week.

It’s a famously haunted site so prepare for 90 minutes of terror.

5. The Best Night View

For the best view of the city at night, head to the Dome in Victoria Square. The 360-degree panorama shows off the twinkling lights of Belfast and you can pick out the landmarks you visited that day. Entry is free and the dome closes later, 9pm rather than 6pm, on Thursday and Friday. Time it right and you can watch the sun set over the city, marvelling as the streets light up.

Hello. I’m Larry Murphy, a born and bred, super proud ‘Belfastian’. I worked the best part of 30 years in the Banking Industry, based across different locations in Belfast City Centre, so I have plenty of experiences to share. That eventful chapter of my life closed in 2017 and the wonderful world of tour-guiding became my new passion.

The city has changed dramatically over those years and yet some things never change such as our warm hospitality and humor. Belfast is a city of stories, fascinating characters, significant events and beautiful architecture. I have always loved meeting people and can’t wait to tell you about my home city.

Hi, my name is Paul Moyna, one of the proudest ‘Belfastian’s’ you will meet. I absolutely love my native city and am passionate about the people, history and stories she holds. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.

Born in 1980, I’ve lived all my years here, I love talking, people and Belfast. For 18 years I had worked for an engineering company and due to redundancy in 2017 it allowed me to become the ‘master of my own destiny’. This is when I chose to engineer my own career. Making my dream job of being a host for my beautiful city and tourist guide a reality. I spent almost 30 enjoyable months in part-time college education, training for various tourism and hospitality certificates. I am now a fully certified tour guide with several years experience, countless hours of research and a lifetime of stories to tell.

Belfast is an amazing, safe, vibrant city with many things to see and do. This once troubled capital now stands a city reborn, holding its charm and character From rich culture to architectural monuments, art and museums the people of Belfast are some of the friendliest in the world. One thing’s for sure – your guaranteed good craic.

Evening City Walking Tour

A glimpse at Belfast’s colourful history on a quick, guided walking tour

This walking tour is 2–2.5 hours and will take you to see structures, sculptures and street art that are strongly linked to the city’s history. Your guide will share information and provide you with a background on how Belfast got to where it is today.

You will start your tour at the Belfast City Hall and walk past public art sculptures such as the Beacon of Hope. You will also stroll along the River Lagan where, when you look out to sea, you will spot the area known as the Titanic Quarter. As you continue along, you will pass by the Waterfront Hall. Your guide will lead you to the Cathedral Quarter, a district known for its murals. Your tour will end in St. Anne's Square.

Rain falls throughout the year in Belfast, so please prepare accordingly.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing. As it gets extra cold over the winter months, a hat, coat and pair of gloves are recommended. During summer, a sun protection is good to have. You can also bring a pair of sunglasses, as it can be bright along the River Lagan at any time of the year.

This walking tour will be totally a contactless experience and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Your guide will be wearing a face shield. You can opt to wear a similar face covering, such as a mask or a shield.

Located in the heart of Titanic Quarter, Titanic Belfast is just a short walk from Belfast's city centre, with easy access to public transport and car parking available. 

Visitor Information

Opening hours.

We operate seasonal opening hours with last admission to the Titanic Experience 1 hour 40 minutes before closing time. SS Nomadic opens reduced hours in line with Titanic Belfast's seasonal schedule.

Family | £62 (2a,2c)

A Titanic Experience ticket also includes entrance to SS Nomadic.

Multimedia Guide

To enhance your Titanic Experience, hand-held multimedia guides with single-use disposable earphones are available for £4. These are available in multiple languages, as well as a children's version and one tailored to meet the needs of those visually impaired.

Eat & Shop

Stop for a bite to eat at The Galley Café or The Pantry before picking up a souvenir in the Titanic Store - all open to the public in our Grand Atrium, or enjoy drinks in our destination bar, Hickson's Point, outside on the plaza!

Getting Here

Our iconic building is just a short walk from Belfast City Centre, with easy access to public transport. Download our walking route map . Located just a short 5-10 minute car journey from George Best Belfast City Airport, and around a 30 minute drive from Belfast International Airport, Titanic Belfast is easily accessible via all major routes.

Accommodation

Right on our doorstep is the Titanic Hotel Belfast, located in the legendary Harland & Wolff headquarters and drawing offices, where Titanic was designed.  Also within Titanic Quarter is a Premier Inn, which is located approximately 5 minutes' walk away from the Titanic Belfast building.
