On April 28, details of the upcoming border measures regarding novel coronavirus infections were released. The outline of the measures is as follows.

Based on the announcement that new coronavirus infectious diseases will no longer be recognized as "new influenza and other infectious diseases," the following changes will be made to the border measures after midnight on April 29. (1) All entrants will not be required to submit either a "negative test certificate from a test taken within 72 hours prior to departure from Japan" or a "vaccination certificate (3 times)".

As of January 2023, U.S. citizens and permanent residents do not require any documents to enter the United States. Please have your passport (or green card if you are a permanent resident) ready.
