My hotel breakfast was quite pricy, it was not very practical for family of 5 and majority of us are not a big breakfast eaters. We walked down the street to find huge CJ building, they have Tous Les Jours and Twosome place and some... other option around in one area, which makes so much option for breakfast and coffee, healthy drink, etc. My fav. was Hot sandwich session, especially ‘Bulgogi Calzone’. It is only breakfast option so available in 7-10am, however, if you go late like 9am, usually sold out. If you want light and healthy options breakfast and lunch, definitely the one of greatest option! More

We enjoy having excellent and awesome choice of pastries with a double espresso on top! Waiter did his best in English to ease our order.

If you love a good patisserie and bakery this is the place to go in South Korea. A huge range of freshly baked goods with some beautifully decorated cakes and strong coffee to boot.

Tous Les Jours on Dongho-Ro has a nice ambiance of large window cafe where the sunlight can go through. Good bread and coffee.

Tous Le Jours Korean Bakery

When I was asked if I wanted to experience a cake decorating session at the famous French-Asian Bakery in South Korea, Tous Les Jours (pronounced: tu-le-ju, which means   ‘everyday’), I have to admit that I thought long & hard. First of all -and as you well know, I am not a baker. Secondly, I am not crafty to even attempt at decorating one! So to spruce up a cake, I was like.. SAY WHAAAAT?

But then, the date coincided with my almost birthday. And what better gift to receive than a cake lovingly made by people dearest & closest to my heart. <3 And so, with my mom & Lovey in tow, we gamely took on the challenge! We are female warriors, and warriors never back down from a challenge, lol.

My mom is a medical doctor & educator by profession. In all my life I have never seen her domesticated -like don an apron, or step inside a kitchen to cook or bake. So this was actually a pretty good idea, something for the books. \m/ This I REALLY had to see, trololol!

Since this would be my mom’s first time to decorate a cake, I had to pair her up with someone knowledgeable in the kitchen so my cake doesn’t come out goofy. And no, that person is definitely NOT me. In the GOppets household, it is only my Lovey who has a remote interest in whipping up food. So the vote was unanimous, it was a lola/granddaughter team for the cake decorating event, yahoo! 😉

Aside from the branch in ATC which we frequent & patronize for the softest & tastiest Premium Pan Bread, Tous Les Jours recently opened another branch at the upper ground floor of SM Southmall. I was curious, so we set up our little activity there.

While waiting for the cake decorating counter to be set up, we indulged in some Tous Les Jours favorites. Pasalubong for the giblings!

Since December 2011, Tous Les Jours has been supplying us Pinoys with fresh, delectable breads, cakes, and pastries. I love their soft premium pan bread & we really have a steady supply at home for breakfast, meryenda , or any time in between.

Chef Kelly was so nice to teach us the basics of cake decorating. Since my 2 Baes were making me a birthday cake, Chef Kelly decided on a Rose Inspiration Fresh Cream Cake 498.00 So feminine & delicate. But remember, roses have thorns. Just like me. HAHAHAHAHA! 😛

And now it’s their turn. As you can see, my Lovey did most of the work hehe. But my mom was game to cheer her on & even tried sprinkling the red stuff at one point.

Prettiest cake I’ve laid my eyes on. It’s the perfect imperfections that make it unique, afterall. And coming from my mom & daughter, what’s not to love, right? YUM! <3 Ay, ano ba yan, color-coordinated pa pala kami , I’m just noticing now haha. Goes to prove we’ve been hanging out with each other too much, lol.

To make it personalized, Chef Kelly adds heart-shaped cookies with short messages. Do ask the Tous Les Jours staff how you too can have your cake purchases personalized.

Tous Les Jours MACARON DE PARIS are very affordable at only P28.00 as opposed to say, the more upscale Bizu or Laduree. My girls LOVE macarons & this version keeps them satiated & happy when a craving hits.

I find the cream cakes at Tous Les Jours light & fluffy. With pretty details too. Perfect gift for any occasion, wouldn’t you say?

Omnomnom! Too pretty to eat, but of course I went ahead & had a slice (or 2)! 😛 Birthday cakes, after all, are meant to be eaten & shared with the people you love. <3

This Bakery Chain Is So Much Better Than Whatever You're Eating

Don't let its french name fool you—it didn't start in europe..

I'm not a big birthday person, but it's become a tradition that every year that I ask for a cake from a very specific bakery. I love this establishment so much that I'm getting excited just thinking about it, even though my birthday is in April. I'm a big proponent of supporting local bakeries and restaurants, but in the case of this very large bakery chain, I make an exception. No, I don't buy a Cookie Puss from Carvel. I pick up a cake from Tous Les Jours .

What is Tous Les Jours?

The name is French (it translates to "every day"), but Tous Les Jours was actually founded in South Korea, and currently has more than 1,650 locations worldwide. It sells a wide array of pastries, sandwiches, and coffee, and everything is made in-house every day, hence the name.

I'm particularly enamored with Tous Les Jour's sweet-potato -flavored goods, such as buns and, yes, my beloved birthday cake . These items all feature a unique East Asian sweet potato with off-white flesh called goguma, which has a delicately sweet flavor. Though sweet potato might seem like an unusual and starchy flavoring for a cake filling, the light touch of its sweetness is,  I'm telling you , out of this world.

The savory items are worth exploring, too. You can get sausage buns, chicken salad sandwiches, BLTs, lots of stuff that makes a quick and satisfying lunch. There are also loaves of bread if you're serving a crowd, as well as a mind-boggling array of buns and coffee drinks to pair with them. It's a far cry from the sad little vacuum-sealed offerings at those lunchtime grab-and-go-type spots scattered around most major American cities.

If you've never had Asian pastries, be aware that they aren't tooth-achingly sweet (though there's plenty of sugar involved). The cakes, unlike the  typical grocery store offerings , are more fluffy and spongy than they are dense. You usually won't find these items too cloying; they're just enough, and it leaves you craving more.

Where to find Tous Les Jours

As a chain, Tous Les Jours isn't quite as ubiquitous as  the likes of Panera  in the United States. Locations are mostly clustered around major metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta. So you urban dwellers have easier access than those in smaller towns—for now. If we all hype this chain, maybe it will have the chance to grow outward. Can you imagine a world free of sad sandwiches at lunch?

If any of you have been to a Tous Les Jours, sound off in the comments. I could use a recommendation for what to grab the next time I'm in, because I have to make sure I don't cave and get the cake (gotta keep it special by only ordering it once a year).

‘TOUS les JOURS’ is a French word for ‘everyday.’

There’s a hot place in the new Carrollton Korea Town, where Korean-style pastry, bread, cakes, and drinks are served fresh everyday.

The TOUS les JOURS is a popular café & bakery brand in Korea. It has multiple locations in the United State, including 3 in North Texas.

The latest North Texas branch is in the K Towne Plaza, off Hebron Parkway and SH121 in Carrollton.

All items are made fresh every morning. Any leftover is thrown away, according to the manager Amy Han.

The store opened its doors in May of 2021.

TOUS les JOURS specializes in French-Asian-inspired baked goods. The bakery chain offers more than 300 different kinds of baked goods, including artisan pastries, gourmet cakes and desserts, and handcrafted beverages.

Currently, there are more than 70 stores in the U.S. and more than 1,650 stores worldwide.

The K Towne Plaza branch is the first ‘café & bakery’ branch in Texas. It means that, at the K Towne Plaza branch, customers not only can get freshly baked goods but they can also use it as a meeting place.

Ester P. highly recommends the K Towne Plaza branch in her Yelp review. “Definitely a legit Korean franchise location in Carrollton compared to the early location inside H-mart” she writes.

What separates K Towne Plaza from other Korean-style bakeries is that it offers a wide variety of pastries that can satisfy customers with different preferences.

If you have been to Korea and know what the authentic vibe of TOUS les JOURS in Korea is like, the K Towne Plaza location is definitely a must-go place.
