6. Sicily: The Godfather Filming Locations Tour

One of the most famous and critically-acclaimed films of all time, The Godfather is based on the book of the same name by Mario Puzo.

This six-hour tour allows you to follow in the footsteps of Don Corleone into the hidden corners of Sicily that you’d never even dream of visiting by yourself. This three-hour tour is a fantastic way to learn about the local businesses that are standing up to Mafia extortion with the “Pago chi non paga” movement, which culminates in the Antica Focacceria San Francesco restaurant.

8. Noto, Modica, and Ragusa: The Baroque Tour from Catania

Tour was excellent, hotels very good but communication could improve. Some of my group were on a WhatsApp connection and were receiving communication but not me. Also I had to ask about where to meet etc on first night. I also wasn’t told that my last day would be a private tour and to meet the guide at 9.00 am. Luckily she persevered in searching for me and I ended up having a fantastic day.

The Sicilian

Very good tour. Loved almost all the planned destinations and speculate tour guides. It was hot! Therefore a little challenging at times. Would have liked a little mid afternoon down time to exercise, use pool and rest. We did have a few days that offered this and it made the evening better. Otherwise everything was great. It would be nice to have a choice on food as well but understand feeding 40 people is not easy. The food was very good in most places.

Magical Sicily - 7 Days

I would not consider this a seven day trip, barely a six day. Our tour leader was excellent, especially as she had to do the tour in English, and in Spanish. I think a lot of time was wasted with translation. One of the hotels was not even three star. A lot of camaraderie was lost due to the language barrier. Many times we felt rushed through our tours, and some days we had too much lag time. All in all it was a good tour. It was just by luck that we found a wonderful board walk and a charming town along the beach at our last stay near Taormina. No one told us about it making us wonder how many other places near our hotels we might have missed.

Good guides and good hotel and meals. Didn't expect my initial group of 30 to swell to 45 a few days later. Such a large number made visiting sites difficult. Didn't have listening devices for the first 3 days. Couldn't hear guides very well. Didn't expect to have to pay entrance fees. Web site should make that clear. Loved the selection of sited we visited.

Excellent hotels and trip. Times kept to by everyone. Bit of confusion over one tour on Lipari but it was all cleared up quickly. One thing would be prior knowledge of what will be for lunch. I would rather go get my own on some days as certain food items were not to our liking. Our guide, Angelo, eas very good. Made sure my sister had her vegan choices and clearly pointed out what was appropriate.
