Oman visa applications from Indian citizens can be denied for several reasons, often related to inconsistencies or issues in the application process. Some common reasons for visa denial include:

  • Incomplete Application: Missing required information or documents can lead to a visa denial. It's crucial to complete all fields accurately and provide all the required attachments.
  • Invalid or Damaged Passport: Passports that are damaged or nearing expiration (less than six months validity remaining) may not be accepted. A passport must be in good condition and valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry into Oman.
  • Previous Immigration Violations: If the applicant has a history of overstaying visas in Oman or other countries, or has been deported or banned from entering Oman, their application may be denied.

To minimise the chances of a visa denial, applicants should ensure all information is complete and accurate, follow the guidelines for the specific visa type, and provide all the necessary documentation to support their application.

A Guide to Oman visa for Indians

A Guide to Oman visa for Indians

Located in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula, surrounded by Yemen in the southwest and Saudi Arabia in the west, Oman has emerged as a growing business destination and a popular tourist destination across the world.

Apart from being a strategic partner of India, the Gulf of Oman is also linked to India by geography, history and culture still maintaining warm and cordial relations amongst each other. Indians regularly travel to Oman for business, jobs and travel perspectives. Also, visits at the highest level have been frequently exchanged between India and Oman, in recognition of strengthening the ties between the two nations.

In consideration of regular visits, the government issues various types of Oman visas for Indians to facilitate cooperation in education, tourism, investment, service fields and trade exchange between both countries.

Types of Oman Visas for Indians

Being one of the emerging travel destinations in the world Oman is receiving a lot of crowds in terms of travellers. If you are also planning to explore the best   places to visit in Oman   this season, then having a clear understanding of different visa criteria and documentation may save you from the last minute hassle.

Here are some different types of Oman visas for Indians provided by the Oman government.

Visit Visas

Visit Visas

An Oman visit visa for Indians is categorized into 3 broad categories: -

Tourist Visa

An Oman tourist visa for Indians allows for a single entry that too for travel purposes. A tourist visa holder can stay for one month in Oman which can be extended, on grounds of various reasons. An Oman tourist visa   allows only one trip per tourist visa for an individual. Multiple trips to Oman on a single tourist visa are not allowed. In case a tourist visa expires and the tourist is still residing in the country then the individual has to pay a fine on a per day basis.

  • Single Entry:  With a single Oman tourist visa for India , a traveller can enter the country once up to 30 days. This type of visa has to be extended for another 30 days on its expiration.
  • Multiple Entries:  A multiple Oman tourist visa for Indians allows multiple entries in one year period. Each of these stays can be of 30 days which cannot be extended like in a single entry tourist visa.
  • Single-entry Oman tourist visa for GCC residents:  This specific tourist visa is for travellers who have GCC residence cards. It provides a single entry of 28 days which can be extended once for 7 days.

Business Visa

Another type of Oman visit visa for Indians is a business visa. It is issued to individuals who want to visit the country for business purposes. A business Oman visit visa for India is available to Indian professionals or business leaders with the help of a local sponsor.

    Resident Visas

  • Family Visa - A family Oman visit visa for Indian allows family members or friends of Omani nationals to visit.
  • Resident Visas - A resident Oman visa for Indians can be categorized into 3 types –
  • Investor Visa - An investor visa is targeted at Indian investors. It allows the investor to reside in Oman if he/she meets certain criteria.
  • Employment Visa - Indian workers or people associated with the service field that is backed by sponsors can apply for an Oman employment visa.
  • Student Visa - Indian students who want to pursue an educational course at any approved institution of Oman can apply for an Oman student visa.

Does Oman offer an on-arrival visa facility for Indians?

Currently, Oman on arrival visa for Indians is closed due to the pandemic. However, Oman's on-arrival visa for Indian passport holders is replaced by an electronic application system. This e visa system allows the authorized visitors to enter the country for specific periods while helping them to apply, pay and receive visa information once issued.

What is the processing time for an Oman Visa?

If you are planning to book an  Oman tour package  or visit Oman for any other purpose then the visa application process must be started before you start your journey. As different countries may have different visa processing systems, a last-minute visa hustle may end up in unnecessary situations or even trip cancellation.

The Oman visa processing time for Indian depends upon the type of visa the person has applied for and its visiting purpose. For this, you can check whether you fall into the category of visit visa or resident visa as listed above. However, the visa is processed only after the completion of the application form, detailed verification and successful payment. The processing time may also depend upon the urgency of the visa and may vary from website to website.

In general, a basic Oman visa process for Indiansmay take up to 2-15 days to process the visa while an express visa takes much lesser time. However, a work visa can take up a variable time limit as it depends upon various other factors like the company sponsoring the visa, educational qualifications. Policies involved, medical conditions, years of experience etc. Overall a work Oman visa processing time for Indians may extend up to 1 month.

Visa Fee for Oman

Oman visa price for Indians depends upon various factors like the category of visa applied and purpose of visit, which is mentioned at the time of visa application. For payments both online and offline modes are available. In offline payments, only demand drafts and bank cheques are accepted while for online payments credit card with a visa or a master card is accepted. The speculated Oman visa fees for Indian various applicants are as follows:

  • An Oman visit visa 3 months price for an Indian tourist   applicant could be approximately Rs. 5000 or 25 Omani Riyals.
  • An Oman visit visa cost for an Indian business applicant can approximately range up to Rs. 3400 or 20 Omani Riyals.
  • Oman visa fees for Indian student residents can be around Rs. 3400 or 20 Omani Riyals.

Memories are probably our only possession. And memories are all about sharing experiences, ideas and thoughts. Life is simple, but it becomes easy when we share. Places and people are two things that interest me the most. Short-term tourist visas for Indian travellers to Oman launched

Oman Observer

MUSCAT: Indian travellers to Oman can avail a new short-term tourist visa at RO 5 equivalent to IRS 945 for a period of 10 days.

Indians who hold a valid visa to any one of these countries — United States of America, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Japan and Schengen states can avail the Oman visa through an e-visa process by simply logging on to https://evisa.rop.gov.om/ and make the RO 5 payment on checkout, whereas other Indian travellers can get a sponsored visa by paying RO 5 plus processing fee through their tour operators.

This is in addition to the existing e-visa for Oman which is available at RO 20 with a validity of one month. The amendments include dividing tourist visas into three sections: 10 days, one month and one year.

Since 2014, Oman has witnessed over 31 per cent growth in Indian arrivals. In 2017 alone, Oman received 321,161 Indian visitors, showcasing growth of over seven per cent in just one year.

Lucknow, Kozhikode, Kochi, Goa, Jaipur, Kochi, Calicut and Trivandrum. Besides, Air India, Jet Airways, Spicejet and IndiGo are also well connected from various cities of India.

The Ministry of Tourism conducted the first leg of the multi-city roadshow in New Delhi on Monday.

The event witnessed around 50 key members of Delhi’s travel trade in a bid to bridge connections between local travel agents and destination management companies, hotels and attraction operators in Oman.

Officials from the Ministry of Tourism, led by Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism (MOT), along with representative partners from the tourism industry and Oman Air were present at the roadshow.

Maitha said, “The objective of the roadshow is to highlight the various facets of Oman as a destination and to create awareness about the new segments and offerings that the country has to offer. We see India as a promising potential market and has witnessed significant growth over a period of time. The Indian traveller is in a rapid state of evolution and is looking to be engaged in many ways. We recognise and acknowledge the demand we see from India and other potential markets. Hence, as part of the Sultanate’s National Tourism Strategy 2040, the Ministry of Tourism seeks to introduce the sector’s latest developments, services, projects and facilities of the tourism industry, such as opening the new passenger terminal at Muscat International Airport and launching the Electronic Visa. It also aims to promote the Sultanate’s unique cultural heritage, the pristine environment and terrain diversification that will allow tourists to experience the destination.”

GCC Resident eVisa : This is an authorization document that allows foreign passport holders with visas or residence cards from GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) states to travel to Oman. If you are an Indian citizen wanting to apply for this visa, you will need to submit a copy of your GCC visa or residence card.

What is an eVisa?

An eVisa is an electronic document issued by the Government of Oman and is linked to your passport. This visa allows certain nationalities to enter this country legally and for a short period, just like a standard visa. The GCC Oman visa online application enables Indian nationals to apply from the comfort of their own home without visiting an embassy.

GCC Oman Visa validity

The GCC eVisa gives Indian nationals and other foreign citizens with a GCC residence card permission to stay in Oman for a maximum of 28 days in Total for a Single Entry .

Additionally, you MUST enter Oman from a GCC country (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates). You cannot apply if you already have another visa for Oman.

Information and documents required to apply for the GCC Resident eVisa

In preparation for your application, we recommend gathering all the documents you need beforehand. The following documents are required for the GCC Resident eVisa:

Applicant photo: Please note that you cannot wear sleeveless shirts or tank tops in your photo. If you don't have a picture, use the convenient iVisa [digital photo service].

Copy of your passport: Must be valid 6 months after the arrival date in Oman.

GCC Visa or residence card (if applicable): You must have a visa or residence permit for one of the other GCC countries and must be valid for at least 6 months upon entering Oman. Please note that female applicants will also have to provide a sponsor.

Occupation information: This info will usually be on the GCC visa. If not provided, please provide it upon request from our visa experts.

How much does the GCC Oman visa cost?

iVisa provides three options for processing time. You need to select one during the visa application process.

The options are as follows:

Standard: 15 days - USD $47.49 .

Rush: 10 days - USD $76.99 .

Super Rush: 8 days - USD $111.99 .

These prices all include the Oman government fee, as well as the iVisa processing fee.

What does it mean to be a resident of the GCC?

If you are a GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) resident, you need to select the GCC Resident eVisa during the application process. This type of visa is meant for people who do not originate from a GCC country but do have a residence permit for one of them.

This means if you are an Indian passport holder with a GCC residence permit, you can apply for this visa type. The prices are lower, while the processing time remains the same as for the usual tourist visa.

How does the Oman GCC eVisa system work?

The GCC Oman eVisa is issued electronically by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oman Government.

Travelers, travel agents, airlines, and specialist service providers like us around the world can use the Oman eVisa system to process a valid visa to those countries with such a system in place. We enter the applicant's information into the system, and after careful review, we are notified of the outcome of the application.

How long does it take to apply for an Oman GCC e-Visa?

Filling out the online visa application form on our website will only take you 10 minutes . But, first, ensure you have all the required documents and information.

How to apply for the GCC Resident eVisa online

The application for this document is really easy. Simply follow these three steps:

You will be asked to fill out your general information in the first step. Additionally, you must choose the processing time as mentioned above based on your budget and needs.

During the second step, you must review all information and make sure all is correctly filled out. Then, pay the visa fees . Online payments can be made securely with debit or credit cards.

The last step consists of uploading your documents , such as a copy of your passport, GCC visa, and GCC residence card. Depending on the circumstances, other documents may be required. Our visa experts will be in touch if that's the case.

Please note: Once approved, a confirmation of your GCC Oman Visa will be sent to you by email. The PDF is not the visa itself. You can print this document to show it to the airline when you travel to Oman. The actual visa will be issued upon entry to Oman.

Do children and minors also need a visa to enter Oman?

Yes. All foreign citizens wishing to enter Oman need to present a visa, even kids.

How to apply for family or friends

You can easily apply for friends or family. Make sure to have all the required documents (see above in this article). If you are applying for a friend or family member that's joining you on your travels, you can do so by clicking on 'Add Another Person' during the application process and completing the information required.

Transit visa for Oman

If you DON'T plan to leave the transit lounge at the airport while in Oman, you are not required to get an eVisa. Otherwise, if you wish to leave the airport, you still have to apply for an eVisa.

What to do when you make a mistake in your GCC Oman Visa application

If you made a mistake when entering your data online, please contact our customer service representatives as soon as possible via chat to assist you. You can reach them via online chat or email: [email protected] .

Your Oman eVisa is linked to your passport number. If we already submitted your application, you cannot make any changes, and you will have to apply again. However, we will NOT charge you another service fee.

I have more questions. Where can I find more info?

You can reach out to our customer service representatives by clicking here and starting a chat. Alternatively, you can email us at [email protected] . Our visa experts can answer all your questions about the Oman eVisa or the Oman GCC Resident eVisa. They are available 24/7.

Salalah, Oman.

Published: Fri 7 Jun 2024, 6:00 AM

Last updated: Fri 7 Jun 2024, 10:50 PM

The enchanting destinations of Abha in Saudi Arabia and Salalah in Oman are experiencing a surge in tourists from the UAE. Travel industry executives report that numerous residents are opting for these ideal locations during the Eid Al Adha break, drawn by their convenient locations and favourable weather.

According to industry experts, Salalah's Eid Al Adha group departures are a hit, and overall summer enquiries for both destinations are impressive.

“We are witnessing a 15 per cent increase in Salalah bookings and a surge of 30 per cent for Abha compared to last summer. This data suggests a significant rise in travellers seeking unique summer escapes within the region,” said Rashida Zahid, Vice-President, Operations, Musafir.com.

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

“These destinations offer a compelling alternative to the usual summer hotspots, attracting visitors seeking cooler climates, breathtaking landscapes, and unique cultural experiences,” added Zahid.

“We have many group packages scheduled during the summer months. However, during the Eid Al Adha break, we have sold out our seats,” said Meenu Krishna, outbound sales manager, at Rooh Tourism.

Gulf Transport Company, which has a bus service to Salalah, said they too, had been receiving daily enquiries for travel to the Oman city. “There are many passengers travelling to Salalah currently. When the Khareef season hits on June 15, we can expect the bus to run at full capacity,” said the operator at the agency.

“We also have Eid Al Adha break coming up. Residents have already started booking tickets to spend three days in the wonderland of the Middle East,” added the operator.

A few industry executives said a few factors are influencing the growing interest in these regions. “These destinations are considered ideal as people can take road trips and also travel by flight. Their trip can be completed in three days – a few residents cannot take longer leaves from their office, so they prefer Salalah,” said Meenu.

The other factors, industry executives highlight, are the unavailability of visas to many countries and the expensive airfare. “Many countries require prior visa approvals. Citing the case of Schengen countries, it is highly difficult to plan a trip now. So due to this, residents opt for colder weather in winter months,” said Meenu.

“The expense of the trip is also a factor to be considered. A trip to Europe may cost between Dh4,000 going all the way up to Dh12,000. However, a trip to Abha or Salalah for three days is priced from Dh1,100 up to Dh2,500 depending on the mode of transportation and accommodation,” said Meenu.

How to get India vs. Pakistan tickets: Prices for the ICC T20 World Cup in New York

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup comes to the United States for the first time this June as part of a co-hosting effort with the West Indies. Among the International Cricket Council games is the highly-anticipated India vs. Pakistan match-up on June 9.

If you're looking to find tickets, then you're in luck, because we've rounded up everything you need to know about how to get India vs. Pakistan tickets for the T20 World Cup. And if you want to enjoy some of the other games on TV, don't miss our guide on where to watch the T20 World Cup .

Original standard tickets are long gone, so you only have reseller sites as an option now, but you can browse resale ticket availability on websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . You're looking at close to $700 at the time of writing, but they were more like $1500 a few weeks ago, so this isn't a bad time to buy at all by comparison.

Last year, India narrowly lost the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup to Australia despite a home-field advantage. India has won the World Cup twice, and Pakistan, their longtime rivals, has won the revered competition once. The last time India and Pakistan played each other was at the Cricket World Cup in October 2023, where India beat Pakistan by seven wickets.

When it comes to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which is a more recently created competition, both India and Pakistan have each won once. Pakistan played in the finals at the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup but ultimately lost to England. India also lost to England in the 2022 competition, during the semi-finals. The match on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is shaping up to be the main draw of the US portion of the competition this year.

ICC ran a ballot for original standard tickets in February, which received a massive response of more than three million applications, according to the ICC. While some tickets are still available on the official T20 website and more are occasionally released, original India vs. Pakistan tickets have sold out and are no longer available. A new wave of public tickets were made available earlier this month, but this didn't include more tickets for the India vs. Pakistan game.

Tickets for the India vs. Pakistan game are available on resale vendor websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . Due to the substantial demand, these are higher-priced than the original standard ticket prices.

How much are India vs. Pakistan tickets?

While it's unclear exactly how much the original standard India vs. Pakistan tickets cost in the ballot, the cheapest tickets for other matches at USA venues start at $35 (although India vs. Pakistan was most likely more). Now that the tournament is underway, we've noticed prices have dropped considerably for India vs. Pakistan, although they're still expensive.

StubHub prices today start at $635 while Vivid Seats listings go up from $668. Just a few weeks ago though, the cheapest prices at these sites were more like $1400 and $1500, respectively.

What about other Men's T20 World Cup matches?

While India vs. Pakistan might be the most anticipated event of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, there are plenty of other exciting matches throughout June, culminating in the finals on June 29 in Barbados. If the event you're interested in has sold out, you can always check out the official T20 website  or browse resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats .

Both India and Pakistan are scheduled to play other teams during the tournament. India is set to play Ireland on June 5, the United States on June 12, and Canada on June 15. Pakistan is scheduled to play the United States on June 6, Canada on June 11, and Ireland on June 16.

Note: Certain services and regions prohibit the resale of tickets. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal reselling of tickets, and entry into an event is at the venue's discretion.
