There is no shortage of lake to fish from and you are allowed 6 fish per person per day. We have 8 rods on board. Jigging, soft baiting, down rigging and trolling are preferred options. Harling is available on request for early morning and evening trips.

Whether you are planning a trip with your mates, a birthday gift, or a stag do with a difference, a fishing trip with us is geared to make you happy. All tackle, rods and lines provided to make this the perfect day out. Maximum 6 fish per person.

Day licences are $23 per adult, $5 per child

K2 is a 6.2 metre Ramco boat, powered by a quiet Yamaha engine. Fish in comfort. This boat is ideal for couples or a family to charter. It is surveyed for 5 passengers, but for total comfort a maximum of 4 Adults is recommended.

Onboard facilities include a toilet, fully enclosed canopy for all weather conditions and tea and coffee making facilities. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and food. We supply life jackets and all safety equipment

Trout fishing.

The minimum time for a trout fishing charter is two hours but we would recommend three hours or more. Given the time we can go the extra mile for you and you will be able to enjoy both the trout fishing and some of Lake Taupo’s spectacular scenery. We supply all the fishing tackle and offer deep trolling with downriggers, harling or jigging.

Scenic Cruise

Enjoy a one hour scenic cruise out past Acacia Bay to the Maori Rock Carvings in Mine Bay and back along the Lake Front or take the time to see more of Lake Taupo’s spectacular scenery. Our boats are equipped to take people of all ages on a cruise they won’t forget.

Big Day Out

Spoil yourselves with a luxury cruise aboard our Markline 1100, “Bravado 3”. This is a six hour (minimum) excursion to the pristine Western Bays of Taupo where the angling pressure is low, the trout large and the scenery breath taking. It includes:

Lake Taupo, New Zealand

At the heart of New Zealand’s central volcanic plateau sits the largest freshwater lake in Australasia, Lake Taup o. This huge, shining expanse of water, moving between aquamarine blue and jade green, is crystal-clear to a depth of 13 metres. It is home to one of the best wild trout fisheries in the world, more than 30 species of water bird, several types of native fish and native koura (crayfish).

It’s known by local tangata whenua (‘people of the land’) as Taupō Moana, the 'inland sea of New Zealand'.

Most days, the lake is beautifully calm, but its creation was one of the most spectacularly violent natural events in history. The gigantic Oruanui eruption, 27,000 years ago, shot volcanic debris 50km into the air, covered the North Island in a thick layer of volcanic ash, and created the caldera that is now the lake.

It’s New Zealand’s largest lake (and Australasia’s), with a surface area about the same size as Singapore.

You can enjoy fishing charters, scenic boat tours , waterskiing, kayaking, paddle-boarding and the extraordinary Ngātoroirangi Mine Bay Māori Rock Carvings . The Great Lake Trails , which are part of Ngā Haerenga - The New Zealand Cycle Trails network, run around the shoreline.

Lake Taupō has a steep drop-off from the shore to an average depth of 100m, and plunges to 186m at its deepest point.

In the mornings Lake Taupo can be shrouded in mist, which usually rolls back by midday to reveal the sparkling waters beneath. The surface of the lake is often dotted with pale balls of pumice, a volcanic rock so light it floats on water.

While Taupo town lakefront and the southern parts near Tokaanu and Tūrangi are popular spots for cruising, fishing and swimming in Lake Taupō. There are hidden gems to discover across this massive and stunning body of water.

Etched between the lakeside settlement of Kinloch, twisting along the Great Lake Trails and onto the shores of Waihaha, are the Western Bays. With ancient volcanic gorges, towering cliffs, majestic waterfalls and vivid blue waters, the Western Bays are a remote but spectacular part of Lake Taupo.
