The Goodtime III takes over Saturday nights on the water with themed dance cruises ranging from raspy blues to 80s rock. Cruises include a buffet-style menu with chicken, pasta, and steak choices. If tradition is more your style, the Victorian Princess has a classic trip. This three-story paddle steamer was built in 1986 for private use in Marco Island, FL. A decade later, the owners realized the need to preserve the boat outside the salty Gulf waters and reluctantly sold it. It was brought to Erie in 1998 and has shown tourists and locals authentic city views.
The Victorian Princess caters to a wide range of dinner and lunch cruises. Italian Family Night is on the first Sunday of each month and allows families to sit around the pasta-lined table and reconnect. Their most popular cruise, the Sunset Dinner Cruise, puts you on the water at the ideal time and provides dinner from Erie’s four-star Colony Pub and Grille .
Stay at The Lakehouse Inn
When you’ve finished your tour of our incredible lake, come back to The Lakehouse Inn . “Wine” down from your busy afternoon on the water with our Wine Lovers Package.

Sunset dinner cruise on beautiful Presque Isle Bay
A very special cruise, especially as the Tall Ships Festival was in progress. The ship is a wonderful paddle wheeler, and the ride among twelve restored Tall Ships in the bay at sunset was fantastic. Add to that a great crew, and tasty food, it was a memorable evening. I've been on the Victorian Princess for a number of excursions over the years, and each has been well worth the price of admission!
overall a nice dinner cruise, advertised as boarding at 6 15 and eating in dock from 6 30 till 7 before sailing in reality boarding didnt begin till 5 27 sailing began about 6 45 and eating didnt begin till about 10 minutes into the sailing, crew is very friendly main portions of buffet were served by staff and was very small portions, however after every one got served then you could go back for seconds. food tasted very good except the pasta it was overcooked and sauce seemed like it came out of a can and was bland. unfortunely there was no sunset as it was cloudy and captain turned around early because he feared the wind would create turbulance. but it was a pleasent ride on the lake also inside cabin where you eat was very hot and stuffy no ac
Seems to be a general consensus that the cruise itself is a wonderful event for Erie, but the food and wait staff leave a LOT to be desired. Since we were sitting on the second floor dining room, we were last to get called to eat. The salad was not enough for the four of us, and what was left was not too fresh. The cookies for dessert didn't even look good enough to try. The captain did a fabulous job of timing for a gorgeous Erie sunset and views for photographing. Music played was appropriate. Overall experience was great, but I don't really care about the food. If I went specifically looking for a good dinner, I would have been really disappointed.
Was in town for a night. Decided on a dinner cruise. Easy boarding process. Catered food was ok. Even offered seconds. The trip was enjoyable and crew was very friendly. There is room for improvement for maintenance and cleanliness of the boat. Otherwise, the trip was enjoyable.
We just recently sailed on the Victorian Princess Cruise lines for the Sunday Italian Family Dinner cruise. It was expensive but we splurged since we were celebrating our anniversary with our daughter. The boat is Beautiful! We Loved seeing the big paddle wheel in the back of the boat and feeling the beautiful breeze on the deck. We kept anxiously waiting for some nice music to play upstairs where we were sitting since we could faintly hear it in the speakers but it was very garbled and quiet and we could not hear it. We were disappointed because we would have liked to have danced upstairs but instead we danced outside on the first deck later after dinner. The food on the buffet was very good but we were surprised that we could not serve ourselves being that it was a buffet. We were not impressed with the wait staff serving us. The young woman who served my husband and daughter put more on my 8 year old daughter's plate than my husband's! We wanted water to drink and our server upstairs forgot who wanted the 3 waters. The people who ordered the paid alcoholic drinks were served first. We didn't get our drinks until we were almost done with our dinner! The same young woman who served my young daughter more than my husband, also asked us what we wanted for dessert. She had the lemon cake and asked if we wanted chocolate chip brownies but she had to go downstairs to get them. She did apologize as she handed our desserts out to us on our Used napkins that they didn't have Any plates. We looked around and saw the shocked appalled facial expressions of everyone around us! This was uncalled for considering it was an expensive dinner cruise! However, we did see a wait staff lady bring up 1 paper plate to a woman but that was it. We were not pleased! After as I mentioned, we went downstairs and danced out on the deck. The crew members were very nice and even took our picture for us. They were much friendlier than the wait staff! As we were leaving, that same young woman who served us earlier, grumbled, " Thanks " to us as we left. We feel she was not a good representation for the cruise line. She just seemed like she was having a bad day or something which we understand that everyone has them but customer service really does say so much about a business of any kind especially if you spend a lot of money there. The captain and the crew members were very nice and they wished us a good night and safe trip back home. They did represent the company very well so hats off to the crewmembers and captain but the wait staff needs much improvement!
Once again, on behalf of Therapy Dogs United, we want to thank the "stellar crew" for the stellar service we received on yesterday's" Victorian Princess" dinner cruise! All was certainly smooth sailing! The weather could not have been more perfect, the service impeccable and the food outstanding! Like last year, Betty was indispensible as she ensured our boarding needs went smoothly! The service team couldn't do enough to be certain our entertainment/dinner needs were met. The food was perfect! Most importantly, the final, most appreciative touch was when your Captain,-at the conclusion of the cruise thanked "Therapy Dogs United "for their attendance! Stellar customer service!! We are already making plans for next year's annual volunteer celebration on the Victorian Princess! We thank the Victorian Princess for the attention and stellar service!

6 Fantastic Boat Tours in Erie, PA
Thanks to the city’s location on Lake Erie, there are many great boat tours in Erie, PA and around Presque Isle State Park .
Whether you are looking for a relaxing and informative ride, a chance to learn more about sailing, or just the opportunity to enjoy the water, there’s a tour for everyone in this northwestern PA city.
Here are a few of my favorite boat rides and tours offered in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The Lady Kate
One of the most popular Presque Isle boat tours is offered aboard the Lady Kate.
The Lady Kate leaves from a dock on Misery Bay in Presque Isle State Park and goes on a 90-minute sightseeing cruise of Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie. The boat passes many points of interest before turning around at Presque Isle Lighthouse .
Along the way, guides offer narration about the history and natural beauty of the region.
If you only have time for one boat tour in Erie, PA, or are looking for one of the most relaxing options, this is definitely the cruise to sign up for.
Pontoon Boat Tours
During the summer months, Presque Isle State Park offers free pontoon boat tours several times every day.
These 50-minute tours take visitors into the heart of the park and offer the chance to see the hard-to-reach interior of the park, which features many hidden coves and small ponds.
Since tours don’t have advanced registration, they fill up quickly, so make sure to arrive early to snag a spot for this great tour.
If you’d rather do something more active, you can also rent a kayak from the same area and explore the ponds on your own.
The Victorian Princess
The Victorian Princess is an authentic paddle-wheel boat that offers hour-long tours of Presque Isle Bay.
Tours leave from a dock adjacent to Erie’s Bicentennial Tower and take visitors for a relaxing ride on the waters around the city. During the tour, visitors will learn about the history of the city and the sights that the boat is passing by.
For those that don’t like small boats, this is also the largest of all the boats offering tours of Erie’s waterways.
Fishing Charters
While they might not be considered a boat tour, Erie’s fishing charters offer a great opportunity to not only see the city and Presque Isle from the water but also to experience some of the best fishing in Pennsylvania.
There are a variety of fishing charters available in the city depending on the type of fishing you are looking to do, the day of the week, and the duration.
Whether you catch many fish or none at all (I sadly struck out during my fishing trip), there’s a lot of fun to be had fishing the lake.
Scallywags
Join the crew of Erie’s only pirate ship and head out with Scallywags Pirate Adventures .
This adventure allows kids of all ages to become pirates for the day. During the sailing, there will be a search for treasure and even a water-cannon fight with another ship.
For those looking for a bit more adult entertainment, Scallywags also offers over-21 cruises that are sure to be a fun time.
While this might not be the most educational of Erie’s boat tours, it certainly is among the most fun.
The U.S. Brig Niagara
If you don’t want to sit back and relax on your boat tour of Erie, consider climbing aboard The U.S. Brig Niagara for a four-hour sailing on Lake Erie.
The U.S. Brig Niagara is a replica of Commodore Perry’s ship from the famous Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812 and sails from a dock at the Erie Maritime Museum . The Niagara is also the official flagship of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
What makes rides on the Niagara so unique is that customers are expected to help with the running of the ship as it sails around Lake Erie. This means that not only will you get to enjoy the lake, but you’ll also get a chance to fully experience this ship and learn how to sail.
Note that the Brig Niagara won’t be running in 2023 due to mechanical issues, but will hopefully be out again in 2024.

We chose to view the total solar eclipse aboard the Victorian Princess and we are so glad that we did. The special eclipse cruise was well done. Captain Mark is just great! The morning clouds cleared right on time and he continually positioned the boat to allow optimal viewing of the celestial event. We loved his personality and enthusiasm! The Erie-themed buffet was on-point and kept stocked throughout the tour. DJ Will played a great selection of sun and moon themed tunes pre-eclipse and switched to dance music post-eclipse. Perfect! Overall, the special cruise was fantastic and worth every penny.
Had a wonderful time! Beautiful sunset, great food and good service. Will definitely be a yearly thing for us.
Sunset from the Victorian Princess
Our party of four all thought the Brunch Cruise was a nice little cruise. Seeing the overall rating, pictures and comments, it seems this business must have gotten some sort of makeover. Lucky for us! We arrived at the dock on State Street about 30 minutes before our 11:30 departure. We reported to the kiosk to check in and get our wrist bands and tickets after booking online. We boarded and sat in the first floor dining area. The boat was clean and bright. There was a singer providing live entertainment. He sang retro love songs with some soft pop songs thrown in. This 80s grad loved the mellow, familiar music. The brunch was delicious. We were served a buffet of boneless fried chicken, creamy mac and cheese, smoked cheddar sausage links, French toast with fresh blueberries, seasoned scrambled eggs and an assortment of fresh fruit. The food was all delicious! We walked around the boat and viewed the water from lots of vantage points. It was fun to sit at a table up on the viewing deck. All four of us loved this cruise. It was perfect for us native Erie residents who have moved away and were back visiting family. Afterwards we took a drive around the peninsula and stopped for ice cream at Sara's. Lovely Erie afternoon!

One star for the fact the vessel did its job and one star for the scenery. This charming relic has been sadly neglected. It is utterly filthy from the crusted windows that were so dirty you couldn't see out of to cobwebs dangling from the ceiling. I was actually shocked over the way they overlooked the obvious. Secondly, it is apparent they *try* to create a somewhat classy ambiance with their evening dinner cruises with cloth tablecloths, but it is just incingruent with the blaring dirtiness and spider remnants fluttering over your head. Then they had out rusted and old cookware and food prep containers in advance of serving but it just gave off church potluck vibes. This cruise company comes across as dumpy, tacky and lacking class. I was very unhappy there wasn't even a narration. It kind or seemed pointless to be honest. You weren't paying for experience or ambiance but rather a quick ride around the bay.
We went on a cruise. It was adults only. There was a Dj on the top deck. There was a bar on the lowest floor. It was a nice warm day but I'm glad I had my jacket. We went at the perfect time because we got to see the sailboat race. The drinks were basic but affordable. No food on the boat. They sold bags of chips for the only snack option. We were out for 1.5 hours which was the perfect amount of time.
Where do I start, the boat was a small, raggedy, rust bucket. The interior was circa 1960's, complete with wood paneling on the walls and a barely suspended drop ceiling. Drinks were served in tiny Styrofoam cups, announcements were on a static filled, barely audible p.a. system. The slop they tried to pass off as food wasn't fit for the starving of a third world country. They said the food was catered...uh, huh. I ended up googling facts about Lake Erie since the "tour" portion of the cruise never happened. Thankfully, a small boat weather advisory cut our two hour torture to just over an hour. Not only will I never recommend this dinner cruise to anyone, I will never ever come back to Erie PA.
First the good: it's a boat ride in Presque Isle Bay and out into Lake Erie. It's beautiful, and you can sit on the top deck of the boat which is open. A lovely ride. And they had a nice two-piece band playing. BUT... The brunch...the food was absolutely disgusting. Like "can't eat it" disgusting. A few in our party gave it a shot and at least put food on the plate, but the smart ones just avoided it altogether. The boat was quite dirty. I get that it's old, and it's on a lake where there are bugs and spiders, but at almost $50 a head it should be reasonably clean. It wasn't. After the cruise we actually went across the street to eat at the Sheraton cause we were all starved. We chatted with a server who said they knew that this operation had recently changed hands, so maybe that's why the food was so awful. Save yourself the stomach ache and just charter a fishing boat or something if you want to take a ride out on the water.
We booked a 2 hour brunch cruise on 10/24 from 11:30-1:30. I couldn't find any info online regarding the menu or if the bar would be open. Having a more organized website would have been helpful. I called twice and didn't reach anyone so I sent message on Facebook. Someone replied and told me to look online for the menu (lol). Not helpful but, ok. When we arrived, the staff informed us that the caterer was a no call / no show again. They refunded our tickets since there was no food as planned and took us on a complimentary hour long cruise, which was nice. The bar was open so we had some cocktails. The bartender was ok but could have been more attentive. We chatted with another couple and they said this is the second time the caterer cancelled and that this cruise was supposed to be their make up cruise after their last one was cancelled. Sounds like it's time for a new caterer. The interior and exterior of the boat needs some work but it was pretty clean for the most part. The boat crew was very nice. There was a young man that greeted customers as they boarded and handled setting up the walkway when we docked - very nice kid and a hard worker. We made the most of the cruise and overall it was an "ok" experience. I think it's neat that we have the Victorian Princess in Erie. With more a more effective management team and better focus on customer service, this could be a 5 star experience.
Victorian Princess
Amazing experience, watching sunset and moonrise at the same time! Captain and staff were so passionate and friendly, they shared lots of cool information with us! Hasan was awesome, young passionate Captain in future!
skip the dining cruise. overpriced and food is unimpressive and tasteless. we did the lunch one and felt ripped off. they need to change catering company. the cruise itself wouldn't have been bad if we could have seen through the window but it was covered in cobwebs and dead bugs.

— Helen/Birthday party at Put-in-Bay
Captain conveniently picked up me and my future wife in his Zodiac Deluxe Dinghy at Catawba State Park and shuttled us out to the PowerPlay. We cruised over to South Bass Island where we spent the afternoon swimming at anchor in the sun. Thanks, Captain Jim!

Bike rental places in Erie Pa. offer options, prices for all levels of riders
Better weather in Erie means more bicyclists will be out and about enjoying a trip around areas like the bayfront and Presque Isle State Park.
For those who don’t own a bicycle, Erie has at least two rental options that will allow you to take a ride either manually or with some help from an electric motor.
For Erie riders who are looking to rent a bicycle around the Presque Isle area, The Yellow Bike Rental Company at 52 Peninsula Dr. offers several options.
Owner Greg Clarke, who also owns Presque Isle Boat Rental, says that his company offers both manual and electric options.
For manual bikes, Clarke's business has options from normal single-speed cruisers to tandem bikes, fat tire bikes, tricycles for kids and teens, senior tricycles, three-wheel bikes for easier balance, junior bikes for kids, and streamways, which are step-through bicycles.
More: Paddling around: The ins and outs of kayaking at Presque Isle State Park
The rental prices for manual bikes are:
- Bicycles : $12 for one hour with $5 each additional half hour.
- Tandem bicycles : $22 for one hour with $8 each additional half hour.
- Youth bicycles : $10 for one hour with $3 each additional half hour.
- Trikes for ages 17 and under : $15 for one hour with $5 each additional half hour.
- Senior trikes : $15 for the first hour with $5 each additional half hour.
- Fat tire bicycles : $12 for the first hour with $5 for each additional half hour.
To reserve a bike ahead of time, all bike rentals require a $40 deposit.
Surrey bikes, four-wheeled bikes that seat four to six people in a carriage with an open bench seat, start at $30 for an hour with $10 every additional half hour for a bike with one bench. A double-bench surrey costs $40 for the first hour with $15 for every additional half hour.
To reserve a surrey bike ahead of time will require a $100 deposit.
The Yellow Bike Company also offers an aqua-cycle water trike for $20 every half hour and a $40 deposit to reserve ahead of time.
“They’ll rent a bike, come back and then the kids usually want to go out on the pond and pedal one of our water tricycles,” Clarke said.
Electric bikes are becoming more popular in Erie
On top of the manual bike options, Yellow Bike Company also offers electric bikes that can be requested at the shop.
“We have noticed an increase in electric bikes, Clarke said. “A lot of people like to get what our most popular bikes are, which are beach cruisers."
He continued, "I think where eBikes come in handy is if you are riding in an area or going an extended distance that have a lot of hills in it then the pedal assist will help you."
