A traditional motorhome with the self-contained features you expect, units in the USA even include a power generator. This economical family unit is a traditional favorite for those who want the walk-through convenience of a motorhome.

Features & Amenities

The rooftop air conditioner is easily controlled from within your motorhome to keep you cool and comfortable when the outdoor air is a little too warm. It's powered either by plugging into the campground power receptacle or the onboard generator outlet.

With a pressurized fresh water tank our RV/Marine toilet feels more like home. A large capacity sewage tank allows you to stop less and is easy to use.

The high-output gas range top is easy to use for any meal. Turn the burner to the "light" position, and then turn the igniter switch to light the burner. It’s that easy.

Take the kitchen with you, thanks to the gas/electric refrigerator.

Each Cruise America motorhome comes with a microwave oven as part of the complete kitchen. Not having to eat out at restaurants is one of the attractions of traveling in a motorhome, and we all know how handy a microwave oven can be when you're fixing snacks or meals!

The freshwater tank lets you take a shower without the worry of running out of water. And with the large hot water heater, you’ll never be out of hot water.

Our motorhomes are equipped with a receiver hitch, so you need to provide your own tow bar. No towing apparatus or hook-up services are provided under any circumstances. The customer must declare intention to tow prior to departure and warrant that towing weight is within 2,500 lb. tow weight restrictions. A daily towing charge will be imposed. Cruise America provides no collision or liability coverage for damage to the towed object or for third-party injury inflicted by the towed object, under any circumstances.

You can also attach a bike rack to the receiver hitch.  There is no charge for this feature, but you must let the rental center know at the time of pickup so the locking pin can be removed.

It would be nice if there were a blower for the furnace under the table. We could not set the bed from the table, could not get the top loose. “ Really bad: old dirty lot of damages no bluetooth no usb at the dashboard so no way to listen music while travelling out of the cities (the kind you do with an RV) no gps available neither as optional (I had to buy one at Walmart!!). Refrig didn’t work properly, I had to throw away lot of stuff and had to spend other money at restaurants. “A little bit “old” but very comfortable but perfect for driving coast to coast in 5 people. The cook rivets were Broken (and very dirty) , as well as the outside luggage lock (every night we took all our bags inside), the floor was not clean and the corner protection was broken in the bedroom area BUT the vehicle did work very well for several thousands miles we drove; spacious and comfortable. The fridge was working super well and we always had cool water and sodas. Nice product over all! ”

“Vehicle is a bit dated, pretty much the same equipment as 20 years ago. No bluetooth or satelite audio. Lots of noise while driving.. Rental price for optional add-on's such as camping chairs, personal kit, vehicle kit, etc is higher than buying equipment at Walmart and discarding at the end of a vacation. We were forced to pay 1/4 propane whereas we used only 1/8 but "system did not allow to charge anything less". It's only 17$ but still left a bad taste”

“The vehicle was so dirty that we had to clean everything with desinfectant before we would dare use it. Even the dishes had food remainders still on them. All surfaces were sticky or fatty. The depot service was unfriendly, rushing over everything when handing over the vehicle. During our trip we found that several things were not working: The 12V/120V converter, 2 electrical plugs, the microwave would shut down after heating 2 cups of water, water leaking through 2 of the windows in the roof.”

Terms & Conditions

You must be over 21 and have a valid and identifiable driver’s licence. All drivers must be identified and authorised upon pick up of the vehicle (there is no cost for additional drivers). On collecting your motorhome, you will be asked to sign the hire company’s own terms and conditions of hire making the rental subject to a direct contract between each driver and the hire company. A basic refundable security deposit of $500 USD (increases to $1000 USD for Burning Man departures) and the use of a credit card to pay for all local charges and deposits are required at departure. Upon vehicle return, all extra charges are balanced against the security deposit and a credit will be issued to cover the refund.

Standard Hire Includes Standard liability insurance, public liability insurance, tax on all pre-paid items, daily rate, personal kits (includes: sleeping bags, pillows, sheets and towels), kitchen kit (includes: pots, pans, cookware and crockery), RV preparation fee and on the road support.

Hire Excludes Mileage charges, optional extras, generator usage one way fees and security deposit.

Length of Hire Minimum rental is 7 nights.

*COVERAGE SUMMARIES – USA DEPARTURES

Provided you abide by the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement, report accidents and/or damage promptly, and avoid prohibited vehicle uses, your coverages include:

• Auto Liability  Statutory and excess Supplemental Liability Insurance up to $1,000,000.
• Vehicle Damage/Loss  Per occurrence or incident, up to $2,500 regardless of responsibility. You are covered for amounts in excess of $2,500 under most conditions.
• Trip Reimbursement  Travel Expenses incurred as a result of mechanical breakdown up to $3,000 per tour.

Ferry Restrictions

Ferry reservations can be difficult to manage during high season. We recommend that you make a reservation for at least a 30-foot vehicle on the ferry, irrespective of the size of motorhome reserved, to avoid problems due to possible upgrades.

Travel Restrictions

Coverages are invalid if problems occur in the following areas and all recovery expenses are at the client’s own cost. Violations of these restrictions void damage waivers and the client will be held liable for all vehicle damages including to tires, towing charges and other related expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas. Clients should consult the Renter Assistance Guide and the departure location personnel for complete information on travel restrictions and local circumstances at the time they collect their motorhome.

Alaska, Yukon & Northwest Territories & Newfoundland Travel on all public and/or numbered roads is permitted. Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and the like – commonly called ‘logging roads’ or on any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited. Clients may receive further information from Cruise America regarding seasonal travel restrictions as well. We reserve the right to restrict travel, dependent on current road conditions.

Death Valley Vehicles may be operated with EXTREME CARE in Death Valley and other desert areas during the months of July and August. In Summer, clients visit these areas at their own risk and Cruise America will not be held responsible for extraordinary vehicle recovery and other charges. During certain periods these areas are not habitable and could pose a danger to the driver and passengers.

Manhattan Due to restrictions on vehicle heights, propane gas and parking, vehicles with propane are not permitted in Manhattan and are not permitted to travel through any underground or underwater tunnels.

Mexico You are strictly forbidden to take Cruise America vehicles across the US border to Mexico.

5 Simple Steps to Booking a Motorhome

1. select a motorhome rental company.

There are four major motorhome rental providers in the United States. You have the choice between Cruise America, El Monte RV, Road Bear, and Britz. These are all well established, renowned business with many years of experience in the motorhome rental industry.

2. Select your Travel Season

The various packages and rates offered by the rental car company are divided into two rental seasons – Summer and Winter. In order to best research the motorhome possibilities, you need to select in which timeframe you would like to travel. Hint: There are several Early-Bird discounts! This means that the earlier you book, the better the specials (and availability).

3. Choosing your Motorhome

After you have decided on a rental company and travel season, it is time to select a vehicle. Choosing the right motorhome size is the most important part of a motorhome vacation! Remember that everyone needs their space. Packing the maximum number of people into a motorhome may spoil your dream vacation. We always recommend choosing a motorhome that sleeps more people than you are traveling with!

4. Choosing your Pick-Up and Drop-Off Locations

When selecting your pick-up and drop-off locations it is always beneficial when they are the same. This increases the chances that the rental company will be able to confirm your reservation request and in addition they do not cary any extra fees. Should you choose a pick-up and drop-off location that are not the same, please be aware that there will be an additional fee to be paid at the rental location known as a one-way fee. The further the locations are apart, the more costly this one-way fee becomes.

5. Choosing a Special

Most rental companies offer special packages or discounts for certain rentals. Some of these include discounts for extended rentals of 21 days or more, others simply offer free extras like vehicle kits or navigational systems. Here its important too to book early, in order to save more!
