Einfach nur Mega

schon immer sind wir Bruce Spingsteen Fans und wir haben schon einige Konzerte besucht. Dieses war mit Abstand eines der Besten. Einfach nur Mega was Bruce in seinem Alter noch auf der Bühne leistet. Einfach nur geil geil und nochmal geil. Tolle Auswahl der Lieder und eine einmalige Stimmung. Wir hoffen dass wir in Hannover dabei sind.

Erstes Konzert!

Es war mein erstes Konzert, auf dem ich je war (17 Jahre alt) und absolut Super! Die Planung (Parkplätze, Personal, Übersicht) war jetzt nicht gerade der Hammer, aber das hat mich nicht sonderlich gestört. Das Konzert war der Wahnsinn, besonders zusammen mit den Lichteffekten an der Bühne, als es dunkler wurde. Ich wusste zwar, dass sowohl Bruce als auch die E-Street Band es auch in dem Alter noch voll drauf haben (Letter To You!), aber war mir nicht sicher wie es Live ist, auch da sie ja schon einen großen Teil der Tour hinter sich hatten. Ich wurde nicht im geringsten enttäuscht und würde jederzeit wieder hingehen. Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band Forever!!! ; )

Singer/songwriter Bruce Springsteen ’s upcoming tour is coming up fast, and fans still have a chance to get last-minute tickets to see The Boss himself live. The tour will span the United States as well as a number of tour dates in Canada. The E Street Band, who have been Springsteen’s backing band for decades, will also be headlining the tour.

The next tour date will kick off on March 19 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Footprint Center. Pending additional dates, the final tour date will be on November 22 in Vancouver, Canada at the Rogers Arena. Any of the tour dates on the Bruce Springsteen 2024 Tour were dates in 2023 that had to be postponed due to Springsteen’s hospitalization for peptic ulcer disease.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced the dates for their 2023 U.S. tour on Tuesday (July 12). The 31-show swing is slated to kick off on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Florida and is currently slated to keep the hard-charging group on the road through a homecoming gig in Newark, New Jersey on April 14.

Along the way the veteran rockers will hit Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, New York, Cleveland and Baltimore. The shows will be The Boss’ first North American dates with his long-running band since Sept 2016.

Springsteen announced the dates for his 2023 European tour in May, explaining on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio that after nearly five years off the road it was time for him to get the band back together. “It’s kind of mind boggling to be honest with you… IT doesn’t feel that long, but,  you know, we stayed busy over that time, but still it’s, I’m really, I’ve got the Jones to play live very badly at this point,” Springsteen said of getting back at it with the band for the first time since they recorded 2020’s  Letter to You  album. “So, I’m deeply looking forward to getting out there in front of our fans.”

The group is gearing up to hit the road for the first time since the conclusion of their 14-month global River Tour, which kicked off in 2016. According to a release announcing the new dates, since the 2023 European dates were announced in May more than 1.2 million tickets have already been sold. After the end of the European run — scheduled for April-July 2023 — the band will begin a second as-yet-unannounced string of North American shows in August; tour dates in the UK are also slated for next year, with the details to be announced soon.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band roared back to life Wednesday night at Madrid, Spain’s Metropolitano Stadium, three weeks after they were forced to postpone shows so Springsteen could recover from vocal strain.

“Hola Madrid!” Springsteen said upon taking the stage. “Estáis preparados?” The spirited crowd was indeed ready for a 30-song, two-and-a-half hour set that included the first live rendition of the High Hopes deep cut “Frankie Fell in Love” since 2015 and a cover of John Fogerty’s 1975 classic “Rockin’ All Over the World,” which they hadn’t touched since 2016. They also broke out rarities “Seeds” and “If I Was the Priest.”

They also spoke about the full band sessions for Nebraska , which were ultimately shelved in favor of Springsteen’s stark, solo renditions of the songs. “I remember recording all of that [ Nebraska ] material and it was very much in the E Street Band style and very similar to what we do now when we play those songs, and it was great,” Weinberg said. “And it was a rock record … [Springsteen’s manager-producer] Jon Landau, during the writing of [ Nebraska ], suggested that I listen to John Wesley Harding , the Bob Dylan record. And he said, Bruce seems to be going more in this kind of direction. And there were some takes like that, with brushes, just a bare minimum rhythmic approach. And there were also rock versions of [some of] the Nebraska material.”

The E Street Band’s world tour resumes Friday night back at Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. They head back to the America in mid-August, and play sporadic shows until wrapping up the year in Vancouver, British Columbia, on November 22. The four European shows they were forced to postpone due to Springsteen’s vocal issues have been rebooked for the summer of 2025.

Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band rock Madrid after Boss' 'vocal issues'

Is Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band ready to rock 'n' roll again? That's a definite si.

Springsteen and E Street rocked a very enthusiastic audience at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 12 in a nearly three-hour show. It was the band's first concert since the Boss postponed the tour in late May due to “vocal issues.”

 “Hola Madrid!” said Springsteen from the stage. “Estáis preparados?”

“Lonesome Day” started things off, and the set included a cover of John Fogerty's “Rockin’ All Over the World.” Rarities played included “Seeds,” “If I Was a Priest” and “Frankie Fell in Love.”

“The show was great,” said Steven Z. Ehrlich of New York City via email. “Crowd energy off the hook. Band was having a blast. Bruce sounded great but you could hear a little roughness at the edges.”

Concerts May 25 in Marseille, France; May 28 in Prague; and June 1 and 3 in Milan were postponed due to Springsteen’s “vocal issues” on doctor’s orders. Springsteen later referred to the issue as a “vocal bug” in a social media post.

“The crowd was spectacular, which always makes a difference!” said Damian Clarke of Ireland via email. “I was saying to my friends that Bruce sang the songs like it was the first time he's sung them, such was his commitment. Amazing.”

“Loved hearing it all but the 'Rockin’ All Over the World' cover, that was fun,” Ehrlich said. “High octane for sure. Of course hearing 'Priest' again is a highlight.”

Springsteen and E Street play two more shows, Friday, June 14, and Monday, June 17, in Madrid. The Marseille show has been rescheduled for May 31, 2025; the Prague show for June 15, 2025; and Milan for June 30, 2025, and July 3, 2025.

As he picked up his Ivor Novello Award in London Thursday, Bruce Springsteen told a story about the first time he came to the U.K.’s capitol city.

In 1975, Springsteen and his band arrived at Heathrow Airport famished, and went in search of a cheeseburger — only to find that such exotic cuisine had yet to make it to that side of the pond, with only fish ‘n’ chips available.

Nearly 50 years on, U.K. tastes have changed – and so have the Ivors, now officially known as the Ivors with Amazon Music. So, while Thursday’s ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel was the 69th Ivors, it was the very first to reward an international songwriter with its highest honor, making Springsteen a Fellow of its Academy.

(Side note: Springsteen’s culinary preferences may also have moved on, if the très European charcuterie-and-cheese-board specially requested for his table, while everyone else dined on guinea fowl, was anything to go by.)

Springsteen’s Fellowship means he joined an elite club alongside the likes of Kate Bush, Elton John, Annie Lennox and the man who inducted him, Paul McCartney .

Macca’s arrival on stage caused ripples of genuine excitement in even this jaded, slightly sozzled industry crowd, which soon turned into howls of laughter as the ex-Beatle roasted his American friend.

“Unlike Bruce’s concerts, I’m going to keep this brief,” McCartney quipped, before adding: “I was wondering how Bruce would fit into the Beatles. When it comes to talent, he was definitely in the Top 5.”

It was the sort of moment only the Ivors can deliver: two legendary figures supremely relaxed not only in each other’s company, but in front of a crowd happy to provide a safe space where, for one day at least, the art of songwriting can take center stage.

Springsteen chuckled away during the speech, hugging McCartney before delivering a trademark sincere response. Complaining of losing his voice after playing a show in “hellacious weather” in Sunderland the night before, he paid tribute to the influence of McCartney’s former band, the Rolling Stones and the Animals. “While I was stone cold born in the bowels of the U.S.A,, at 16, I desperately yearned to be British.”

He also hailed his record company Sony Music Group, especially British chairman Rob Stringer (“I sold all my music and they still treat it like it’s mine,” he said of his 2021 deal for Sony to acquire his recording and publishing catalogs). The less said about his attempt at a British accent the better, but there was no doubting his appreciation of his “long and beautiful history” in this country.

“As we flew towards the U.K. in 1975, all I was wondering was, ‘What do I have that I could conceivably give back to those people who gave me so much?’ The answer is, everything I’ve got. I want to thank you for taking my music into your hearts and into your souls, and for including me in the challenging and beautiful cultural life of the U.K.,” he said.

As it turned out, the Boss was not the only splash of American razzmatazz at this year’s Ivors. Organizers had shifted the start time back from its traditional morning kick-off to mid-afternoon, allowing America – on the East Coast at least – to tune in to the new, shiny behind-the-scenes coverage on Twitch (although many diehard British execs were still in a nearby pub, the Audley, long after the official start time, proof that some Ivors traditions will live forever).

Furthermore, the Special International Award was presented to Lana Del Rey by Universal Music Publishing Group CEO,Jody Gerson.

Gerson – part of a strong U.S.-based publishing presence that also included Warner Chappell’s co-chairs Guy Moot and Carianne Marshall – called Del Rey “a true original who would be a brilliant artist in any era. She’s iconic, she’s influential, her career transcends genres and her songs and music will stand the test of time. She’s a treasure.”

Gerson stressed the best was yet to come for the influential artist – unless, she said, Del Rey chooses to become “a waitress in a waffle house in Alabama,” a suggestion that saw the star give two thumbs up to the cameras.

Del Rey revealed she’d recently turned down the chance to do a stadium tour after her Coachella triumph.

“After Coachella, everyone kind of treated me like a brand-new artist, like, ‘Oh, she’s back’,” she said. “I said, it’s like being in a new ship but I don’t just want to go forward and do a stadium tour, I want to figure out how to turn it into a glass ship that can fly. And I don’t even know what that means – but I’m going to find out.”

So far, so transatlantically kooky. But there was also plenty of no-nonsense Britishness on display as host Lauren Laverne breezed through proceedings, even taking the Ivors’ own Oscars moment in her stride, when Bat For Lashes, handed the wrong envelope, read out the incorrect winner of the Best Original Film Score award (“Poor Things” was swiftly instated as the rightful victor).

Ivors Academy chairman Tom Gray – now also a prospective Member of Parliament, and one of the few political figures not to drop out of attending the ceremony after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called a snap general election the night before – billed the Ivors as “the biggest celebration of songwriting anywhere in the world,” but also warned: “Songwriters should not be taken for granted.”

He was not alone. This season’s serial award winner, Raye , picked up Songwriter of the Year and brought her grandfather – a former aspiring songwriter who, according to Raye, “had a song stolen from him that was huge” – up on stage.

“This is for all the songwriters who never even made it into this room, that just needed a break,” she said, before repeating her call for record labels to give songwriters points on master recordings and travel/food expenses for sessions.

“This is not a joke,” she fumed, as the crowd gave her a standing ovation (and a few major label executives squirmed in their seats). “We are so important. I’m talking about the voiceless beating heart of this industry, which is songwriters. We need to come together.”

Elsewhere, Squeeze songwriter Chris Difford delivered a hilarious speech as he presented KT Tunstall with the Outstanding Song Collection prize.

“KT has recently joined the long list of people who have supported Squeeze and gone on to much better things,” he quipped. “R.E.M., the Police, Bon Jovi, the Jam, Dire Straits and U2 have all supported Squeeze over the years. Today proves that a support slot with Squeeze is the gift that keeps on giving. Unless, of course, you’re A Flock of Seagulls…”

In return, Tunstall announced a new publishing deal with BMG (scooping the official announcement the following day) and recalled her first Ivors win back in 2006 for “Suddenly I See,” when she wrote in her journal: “Oh my God, I won a fucking Ivor. I had no idea that was going to happen and I wore my really crap jeans.” “So I dressed up this time,” she noted.

In response, Taupin apologized for the time when he and the then-Reg Dwight were just “jobbing songwriters” and entered a prospective song for the U.K.’s Eurovision Song Contest entry, which Lulu had to sing on TV as part of the selection process (the song wasn’t selected and Lulu eventually became the Contest’s joint winner with a different tune, “Boom Bang-a-Bang”).

“In the interim between that godawful song and today, maybe I did something right in order to win this,” Taupin said.

There were plenty of newer faces too. Skepta picked up the Visionary Award (“I know all the songwriters in the room are feeling like what we do has no value anymore, and technology could just do what we do. But our talent is not something that can be taken away”).

Dave collected the PRS for Music Most Performed Work for his Central Cee collaboration, “Sprinter” (“As a songwriter myself, to see this many people share the same sentiment in one building is amazing to see”).

And last year’s Rising Star winner Victoria Canal returned to win Best Song Musically & Lyrically for “Black Swan” (a song she also performed live at the awards).

It all added up to a vibrant ceremony with notably more international star power than its usually more high-profile recorded music rival, the Brit Awards.

Whether the Ivors can keep it up, now that its top award is, presumably, open to all comers, remains to be seen – and much of the chat at the aftershow centered on how organizers could possibly top this year’s McCartney-Springsteen combination.

But that can wait. This year, there was only one way to end proceedings, as Springsteen grabbed a guitar and a harmonica and wheezed his way through “Thunder Road,” his voice cracking but still energizing a crowd that couldn’t quite believe they had a front row seat for a show you only usually see in stadiums.

And, as everyone dispersed to the parties, Springsteen’s speech still stuck in the memory.

“Once this was only a dream I had, today it’s real,” he said. “I guess London’s finally ready for… cheeseburgers.” And, as the Ivors head off into a potential bold international future, the only question that remains is: Do you want fries with that?

Courteney Cox is still dancing.

The " Friends " star, 59, recreated her dance from Bruce Springsteen 's iconic "Dancing in the Dark" music video in a TikTok shared on Sunday. She was getting in on a TikTok trend where young people ask their moms to dance like they did in the 1980s, and Cox is certainly an expert in that area.

"Asking my mom how she danced in the 80's," the actress wrote over the clip, in which she takes off her sweatshirt to reveal a Springsteen shirt underneath and dances like she did in the 1984 video.

"1980's dancing … in the dark," Cox captioned the TikTok.

A decade before her role on " Friends ," Cox starred in the Brian De Palma-directed "Dancing in the Dark" music video as a fan who is pulled on stage by Springsteen during a concert and dances with him in front of the crowd.

In a 2022 interview on "The Howard Stern Show," the " Scream " star admitted she gets "a little embarrassed" looking back on the video today.

"Did you see my dance?" she joked. "It was pathetic. I'm not a bad dancer, but that was horrible. I was so nervous."

She also recalled feeling embarrassed and out of her element while auditioning for the role, which may be why she was cast over professional dancers who were also trying out. "I think that's what they wanted: a fan that just couldn't believe it," she told Stern.

Prior to this, Cox's only acting credits were in a commercial and an episode of the soap opera "As the World Turns," she noted on "Off Camera with Sam Jones" in 2017. Ultimately, though, the role helped launch her career.

"I spent a lot of time talking about what Bruce Springsteen was really like after that video," she said on "Off Camera." "It got me in the door to so many places."
