Background [ ]

Development [ ].

Brad Bird originally pitched the idea of Bomb Voyage's name. His original idea was that Bomb Voyage would be named " Bomb Pérignon " in reference to the similarly named champagne, Dom Pérignon, but the Moët et Chandon company would not allow that kind of parody.

Personality [ ]

Apart from his obviously evil and insane persona, Bomb Voyage is very sarcastic, mocking "Incrediboy" for trying to intervene on him.

Role in the film [ ]

Bomb Voyage is a recurring enemy of Mr. Incredible as he is introduced. He is a mime-like criminal who speaks French, although he can understand English as well.

When he is first introduced, Bomb Voyage crashes through a brick wall after stealing money. Just before Mr. Incredible could fight him, a young Buddy Pine (as "IncrediBoy", Mr. Incredible's so-called sidekick) arrived and tried to appeal to Mr. Incredible that he would be a worthy sidekick for him (and that he invented new rocket boots, which make him get around so fast). Mr. Incredible then told him, "Fly home, Buddy. I work alone" while Bomb Voyage agreed with him by insulting Buddy's "ridiculous" costume and calling him a "little oaf" (in French). Bomb Voyage then took advantage of the distraction to aid his escape. As Buddy flew off to get the police, Bomb Voyage put a bomb on his cape (unbeknownst to him), forcing Mr. Incredible to release Bomb Voyage in order to save Buddy. Bomb Voyage was presumably aware of Mr. Incredible's persona in that in a tight situation, he would choose saving people over apprehending criminals.

Bomb Voyage successfully made a getaway, and it is presumed that he remained at large for the remainder of the film. He was also partially responsible for the Anti-Super Legislation Act being enacted, as the bomb he placed on Buddy was later removed from his cape by Mr. Incredible and managed to land and detonate on a railroad bridge, which forced Mr. Incredible to stand in the path of the train to prevent it from falling off the broken bridge, which resulted in the passengers suing Mr. Incredible, and acting as the jury in his lawsuit trial, that eventually led to it being passed.

Video games [ ]

In the video game version , Voyage is the main villain for the first three levels of the game and he speaks English. In the last level he is involved in, he recreates the scene in the movie, placing a bomb on Buddy Pine's cape, forcing Mr. Incredible to save him. After this, he attempts to escape in a helicopter, and Mr. Incredible defeats him by throwing six bombs at the chopper, causing it to fly out of control and leave the scene.

Printed media [ ]

In the comic series, Bomb Voyage is recruited by Xerek to make the Eiffel Tower vanish with one of his bombs, and later meets Elastigirl and Mirage in person when they arrive to investigate, when he attempts to escape, Elastigirl follows him throughout Paris and eventually shakes Xerek's location out of him. Since it has been 15 years since his appearance in the movie, Bomb Voyage has aged significantly, with a potbelly and balding hair.

  • Bomb Voyage had a minor cameo as a street mime, during the 2nd act when Linguini and Colette are rollerskating by Notre Dame in Ratatouille during the Le Festin sequence. His name also appears on a newspaper that Colette is reading.
  • Bomb Voyage's name is a pun on the French phrase "Bon voyage". His real name is "Remy Bon Mot".
  • The Boom! Studios comic reveals Bomb Voyage was one of the few villains to elude the NSA completely around the time of the superhero ban, only to re-emerge in Paris years later and destroying the Eiffel Tower in the process. Working for Xerek, he destroys the rendezvous point that Mrs. Incredible and Mirage were to meet their contact at. When Bomb Voyage tries to escape, Helen takes a jetpack in pursuit and Xerek reveals himself through Bomb Voyage's communicator, which threatens to explode and take both of them down.
  • In the comic series, he speaks perfect English.
  • Bomb Voyage refers to Mr. Incredible as "Monsieur Incroyable", which is, ironically, not what Mr. Incredible is referred to in the French dub of the film, instead being named "Monsieur Indestructible"; however, the Canadian French dub names him "Monsieur Incroyable".

Biography [ ]

The incredibles [ ].

Bomb Voyage is a recurring enemy of Mr. Incredible as he is introduced. He is a mime-like criminal who speaks French, although it was hinted that he knew English as well, as he said "IncrediBoy" in its English wording rather than a French translation of the name.

When he is first introduced, Bomb Voyage crashes through a brick wall after stealing money. Just before Mr. Incredible could fight Bomb Voyage, a young  Buddy  (as "IncrediBoy," Mr. Incredible's unofficial sidekick) arrived and tried to appeal to Mr. Incredible that he would be a worthy sidekick (and that he invented new rocket boots, which make him get around so fast). Mr. Incredible rejects Buddy, and Bomb Voyage took advantage of the distraction to aid his escape. As Buddy flew off to get the police, Bomb Voyage put a bomb on his cape (unbeknownst to him), forcing Mr. Incredible to release Bomb Voyage in order to save Buddy.

Bomb Voyage successfully made a getaway, and it is presumed that he remained at large for the remainder of the film. Despite his minor role, Voyage's actions left a major impact on the film and its sequel, as he was partially responsible for the Anti-Super Legislation Act being enacted since the bomb he placed on Buddy Pine was later dislodged from his cape and destroyed a railroad track, leading to Mr. Incredible stopping a train and getting sued by the injured passengers, who acted as the jury in his lawsuit trial, resulting in the act being passed.

Video Game Adaptation [ ]

In the video game version, Voyage is the main villain for the first three levels of the game and he speaks English. In the third level he is involved in, he recreates the scene in the movie, throwing a bomb in Buddy Pine's cape, forcing Mr. Incredible to save him. After this, he attempts to escape in a helicopter, and Mr. Incredible defeats him by throwing six bombs at him, causing it to fly out of control and presumably crash, killing Voyage.

Comic Book Series [ ]

Bomb Voyage’s defeat in the comic book version of The Incredibles .

Personality [ ]

Bomb Voyage is an obviously evil terrorist who doesn't care about bombing buildings or killing someone who gets in his way. He's likely of French origin, all of his speech being in French language. He wasn't above killing a young child, as shown when he puts a bomb on Buddy's cape, the latter being unaware of that. He's also an unpleasant person, mocking IncrediBoy's cape and mocking him when he shows up.

Enemies [ ]

  • Mr. Incredible - Old foe and Attempted Captor
  • Buddy Pine † - Attempted Victim

The Incredibles - Bomb Voyage Scene (HDR - 4K - 5

  • Brad Bird originally pitched the idea of Bomb Voyage's name. His original idea was that Bomb Voyage would be named " Bomb Pérignon " in reference to the similarly named champagne, Dom Pérignon, but the Moët et Chandon company would not allow that kind of parody.
  • Later on in the film, when Syndrome tells Mr. Incredible that he became evil due to the latter rejecting his help the night Mr. Incredible faced Bomb Voyage, Bomb Voyage is noticeably absent from the scene despite that Mr. Incredible was holding him when he told Buddy to fly home. This was most likely done to emphasize Syndrome's narcissism as he figured Mr. Incredible was just being a jerk rather than the fact Mr. Incredible was actually busy trying to apprehend Bomb Voyage.
  • Bomb Voyage makes a cameo appearance in Ratatouille as a mime. His first crime scene was in the newspaper Collete reads where they get about the review of the soup.
  • Bomb Voyage's name is a pun to the French phrase "Bon Voyage", meaning "have a nice trip" or "safe journey".
  • He and The Underminer are the only villains in the film series to succeed in their plan in spite of both being defeated in the non-canonical comics and the video game adaptations. This makes both villains to make successful getaways while being chased by their enemies.

  • Syndrome : See? Now you respect me, because I'm a threat. That's the way it works. Turns out there are lots of people, whole countries, that want respect, and will pay through the nose to get it. How do you think I got rich? I invented weapons, and now I have a weapon that only I can defeat, and when I unleash it...
  • [ Mr. Incredible throws a log at Syndrome, who dodges it and traps Mr. Incredible with his zero-point energy ray ]

  • [ Bob grabs Huph by the throat and throws him through the wall; he goes through several walls, to the shock of the other workers ]
  • Bob : Uh-oh.
  • Syndrome : It's finally ready! You know, I went through quite a few supers to make it worthy to fight you, but man, it wasn't good enough! After you trashed the last one, I had to make some major modifications. Sure, it was difficult, but you are worth it. I mean, after all... I am your biggest fan.
  • Mr. Incredible : [ recognizing that last line ] Buddy?
  • Syndrome : My name is not Buddy! And it's not Incrediboy, either. That ship has sailed. All I wanted was to help you. I only wanted to help, and what do you say to me?
  • Mr. Incredible : [ Flashback ] Fly home, Buddy. I work alone.
  • Syndrome : It tore me apart. But I learned an important lesson. You can't count on anyone, especially your heroes.
  • Syndrome : [ watching live news footage of the Omnidroid ] Huh? Huh? Oh, come on! You gotta admit, this is cool! Just like a movie: the robot will emerge dramatically, do some damage, throw some screaming people. And just when all hope is lost? Syndrome will save the day! I'll be a bigger hero than you ever were.
  • Mr. Incredible : You mean you killed off real heroes so that you could *pretend* to be one?
  • Syndrome : Oh, I'm real. Real enough to defeat *you*! And I did it without your precious gifts, your oh-so-special powers. I'll give them heroics. I'll give them the most spectacular heroics anyone's ever seen! And when I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll sell my inventions so that everyone can be superheroes. *Everyone* can be super! And when everyone's super...
  • [ laughs maniacally ]
  • Syndrome : ...*no one* will be.
  • [ Helen hands the kids two masks ]
  • Elastigirl : Put these on. Your identity is your most valuable possession. Protect it. And if anything goes wrong, use your powers.
  • Violet : But you said never to use...
  • Elastigirl : [ snaps at her ] I know what I said!
  • [ sighing ]
  • Elastigirl : Remember the bad guys on the shows you used to watch on Saturday mornings? Well, these guys aren't like those guys. They won't exercise restraint because you are children. They *will* kill you if they get the chance. Do *not* give them that chance.
  • [ Helen's plane is targeted by Syndrome's missiles ]
  • Elastigirl : India-Golf-Niner-Niner transmitting in the blind guard, disengage, repeat, *disengage*.
  • [ she releases anti-missile devices, begins evasive maneuvers ]
  • Elastigirl : Disengage, repeat, *disengage*!
  • Mr. Incredible : No! Call off the missiles, I'll do anything!
  • Syndrome : Too late! Fifteen years too late...
  • Elastigirl : Friendlies, at two-zero miles south-southwest of your position, angels ten, track east, disengage, over! Vi! You have to put a force field around the plane!
  • Violet : But you said we weren't supposed to use our powers!
  • Elastigirl : I know what I said! Listen to what I'm saying *now*! Disengage, repeat, *disengage*!
  • [ missiles close in ]
  • Dash : [ frightened ] Mom?
  • Elastigirl : *Violet*! Mayday, mayday, India-Golf-Niner-Niner is buddy spiked! Abort, abort, there are children aboard, say again, there are children aboard this plane!
  • Mr. Incredible : NO!
  • Elastigirl : [ shouts ] Put a field around us, *now*!

  • Elastigirl : Abort abort abort!
  • [ the missiles hit; Helen envelopes the children as the plane explodes around them ]
  • Old Man #1 : Ya see that? That's the way to do it. That's old school.
  • Old Man #2 : Yeah. No school like the old school.
  • Old Man #1 : Yeah!
  • Helen : E, it's great to see you, but I gotta tell you, I've got no idea what you're talking about.
  • Edna : Yes, words are useless! Gobble-gobble-gobble-gobble-gobble! Too much of it, darling, too much! That is why I show you my work! That is why you are here!
  • [ Bob is explaining an insurance policy loophole to a Mrs. Hogenson ]
  • Bob : [ whispering ] Alright, listen closely. I'd "like" to help you, but I can't.
  • [ hands her a pen and pad ]
  • Bob : I'd "like" to tell you to take a copy of your policy to Norma Wilcox on...
  • [ Mrs. Hogenson looks at him in confusion; he taps on the pad ]
  • Bob : Norma Wilcox, W-I-L-C-O-X... on the third floor, but I can't.
  • [ getting the idea, Mrs. Hogenson writes everything he says down ]
  • Bob : I also "do not" advise you to fill out and file a WS2475 form with our legal department on the second floor. I would "not" expect someone to get back to you quickly to resolve the matter. I'd "like" to help.
  • [ stands up, smiling ]
  • Bob : But there's nothing I can do.
  • Mrs. Hogenson : Oh, thank you, young man!
  • Bob : [ panicked ] Shh, shh, shh!
  • [ pokes his head over the top of his cubical ]
  • Bob : I'M SORRY, MA'AM! I KNOW YOU'RE UPSET!
  • [ whispering ]
  • Bob : Pretend to be upset.
  • [ playing along, Mrs. Hogenson leaves the cubical blubbering as Bob smiles victoriously ]
  • Helen : Dash... this is the third time this year you've been sent to the office. We need to find a better outlet. A more... constructive outlet.
  • Dash : Maybe I could, if you'd let me go out for sports.
  • Helen : Honey, you know why we can't do that.
  • Dash : But I promise I'll slow up. I'll only be the best by a tiny bit.
  • Helen : Dashiell Robert Parr, you are an incredibly competitive boy, and a bit of a show-off. The last thing you need is temptation.
  • Dash : You always say 'Do your best', but you don't really mean it. Why can't I do the best that I can do?
  • Helen : Right now, honey, the world just wants us to fit in, and to fit in, we gotta be like everyone else.
  • Dash : But Dad always said our powers were nothing to be ashamed of, our powers made us special.
  • Helen : Everyone's special, Dash.
  • Dash : [ muttering ] Which is another way of saying no one is.
  • Edna : You need a new suit, that much is certain.
  • Bob : A new suit? Well, where the heck am I gonna get a new suit?
  • Edna : You can't! It's impossible! I'm far too busy, so ask me now before I can become sane.
  • Bob : Wait? You want to make me a suit?
  • Edna : You push too hard, darling! But I accept!
  • [ after seeing Jack-Jack's superhero outfit ]
  • Helen : What on earth do you think the baby will be doing?
  • Edna : Well, I am sure I don't know, darling. Luck favors the prepared.
  • Principal : I appreciate you coming down here, Mrs. Parr.
  • [ Mrs. Parr looks at Dash ]
  • Helen : What is this about? Has Dash done something wrong?
  • Bernie Kropp : He's a disruptive influence and he openly mocks me in front of the class.
  • Dash : He says.
  • Bernie Kropp : [ to Dash ] Look, I know it's you!
  • [ to Helen ]
  • Bernie Kropp : He puts thumbtacks on my stool.
  • Helen : You saw him do this?
  • Bernie Kropp : Well, not real... No, actually not.
  • Helen : Then, how do you know it was him?
  • Bernie Kropp : I hid a camera.
  • [ has the videotape, Dash gasps and looks at Helen, glaring at him ]
  • Bernie Kropp : And this time I got him.
  • [ Plays the videotape of Bernie goes back into the chair. Dash puts a tack on his chair while he's sitting down. Bernie screams and students laugh ]
  • Bernie Kropp : See? You see?
  • [ Helen, Dash and Principal squinting their eyes, while Bernie rolls his eyes ]
  • Bernie Kropp : What, you don't see it?
  • [ groans, rewinds the tape ]
  • Bernie Kropp : He moves! Right there! Wait, wait... Right there! Right as I'm sitting down! I don't know, I don't know how he does it. But, there's no tack on my stool before he moves and after he moves, there's a tack! Coincidence? I think not!
  • Principal : Uh... Bernie?
  • Bernie Kropp : Don't "Bernie" me! This little rat is guilty!
  • Principal : You and your son may go now, Mrs. Parr. I'm sorry for the trouble.
  • [ Helen and Dash leaving the Principal's Office, Bernie is in clear shocked ]
  • Bernie Kropp : You're letting him go again? He's guilty! You can see it in his smug little face. Guilty, I say! Guilty! Guilty! No!
  • Mr. Incredible : I should have told you I was fired, I admit it. But I didn't want you to worry.
  • Elastigirl : You didn't want me to *worry*? And now we're running for our lives through some godforsaken jungle?
  • Mr. Incredible : [ grinning happily ] You keep trying to pick a fight, but I'm still just happy you're alive.
  • Boy on Tricycle : [ after watching the Parr Family defeat Syndrome over their house ] Oh, man...
  • Boy on Tricycle : That was totally wicked!
  • Helen : [ on the phone ] I'd like to speak to Edna, please.
  • Edna : This is Edna.
  • Helen : E? This is Helen.
  • Edna : Helen who?
  • Helen : Helen Parr. You know...
  • Helen : [ whispers ] Elastigirl.
  • Edna : [ booming ] DARLING! How are you, it's been such a long time...
  • Helen : [ nearly dropping the phone ] Yes, yes, it's been a while. Listen, there's only one person who Bob would trust to patch a super suit, and that's you, E.
  • Edna : Yes, yes, marvelous suit, darling, much better than those horrible pajamas he used to wear.
  • Helen : Huh?
  • Edna : They're all finished, when are you coming to see?
  • Helen : Look, I'm calling about...
  • Edna : Don't make me beg, darling, I won't do it, you know!
  • Helen : [ trying to talk over Edna ] Beg? Uh, no, I'm, I'm calling about a suit, about, about Bob's suit. I'm calling about Bob's suit!
  • Edna : You come in one hour darling, I insist, okay? Okay, bye-bye.
  • [ Helen is left holding the phone, looking puzzled ]
  • Mr. Incredible : Wait here and stay hidden. I'm going in.
  • Elastigirl : While what? I watch helplessly from the sidelines? I don't think so.
  • Mr. Incredible : I'm asking you to wait with the kids.
  • Elastigirl : And I'm telling you, not a chance. You're my husband, I'm with you - for better or worse.
  • Mr. Incredible : I have to do this alone.
  • Elastigirl : What is this to you? Playtime?
  • Mr. Incredible : No.
  • Elastigirl : So you can be Mr. Incredible again?
  • Mr. Incredible : No!
  • Elastigirl : Then what? What is it?
  • Mr. Incredible : I'm not...
  • Elastigirl : Not what?
  • Mr. Incredible : Not... I'm not strong enough.
  • Elastigirl : Strong enough? And this will make you stronger?
  • Mr. Incredible : Yes. No!
  • Elastigirl : That's what this is? Some sort of work out?
  • Mr. Incredible : [ shouts ] I can't lose you again!
  • [ calms down ]
  • Mr. Incredible : I can't. Not again. I'm not s-strong enough.
  • Elastigirl : [ kisses him ] If we work together, you won't have to be.
  • Mr. Incredible : I don't know what will happen...
  • Elastigirl : Hey, c'mon. We're superheroes. What could happen?
  • Mirage : He's not weak, you know.
  • Syndrome : What?
  • Mirage : Valuing life is not weakness.
  • Syndrome : Oh, hey, look, look, if you're talking about what happened in the containment unit, I had everything under control.
  • Mirage : And disregarding it is not strength.
  • Syndrome : Look, I called his bluff, sweetheart, that's all. I knew he wouldn't have it in him to actually...
  • Mirage : [ through her teeth ] Next time you gamble, bet *your own* life!
  • [ Helen emerges from the restroom after changing into her superhero costume, and tosses her bag onto an apparantley empty seat ]
  • Violet : Ow!
  • Elastigirl : Violet!
  • Violet : [ becomes visible ] It's not my fault! Dash ran away and I knew I'd get blamed for it...
  • Dash : [ pops up ] THAT'S NOT TRUE!
  • Elastigirl : Dash!
  • Violet : [ over him ] And I thought he'd try to sneak on the plane so I came in...
  • Dash : [ over her ] You said, "Something's up with Mom, we have to find out what!"
  • Violet : ...And then you closed the doors before I could find him...
  • Dash : ...It was YOUR idea, YOUR idea-!
  • Violet : ...AND IT'S NOT MY FAULT!
  • Dash : ...100 percent, all yours, all the time IDEA!
  • Elastigirl : Wait a minute, wait a minute! You left Jack-Jack ALONE?
  • Violet : Yes Mom, I'm completely stupid - OF COURSE we got a sitter...
  • Dash : [ over her ] No, we got someone, Mom! Somebody great! We wouldn't do that!
  • Violet : [ over him ] Do you think I'm totally irresponsible? Thanks a lot!
  • Elastigirl : This is the right hangar, but I don't see any jets.
  • Mr. Incredible : A jet's not fast enough.
  • Elastigirl : What's faster than a jet?
  • Dash : Hey, how about a rocket?
  • Elastigirl : Great. I can't fly a rocket.
  • Violet : You don't have to. Use the coordinates from the last launch.
  • Mr. Incredible : Oh, wait. I bet Syndrome's changed the password by now. How do I get into the computer?
  • Mirage : [ Over PA system ] Say please.
  • [ going through an identification process ]
  • Edna : Edna Mode...
  • [ laser guns point at Helen ]
  • Edna : ...and guest.
  • [ laser guns retract ]
  • [ as the cops burst into the jewelry store where Bob and Lucius are, Lucius reaches for a water cooler to replenish his freezing powers ]
  • Police Officer : Freeze!
  • Lucius : I'm thirsty.
  • Police Officer : I said freeze!
  • Lucius : I'm just getting a drink.
  • [ takes the cup to his lips and drinks ]
  • Police Officer : Okay, you had your drink. Now, I want you to...
  • Lucius : I know, I know. Freeze.
  • Police Officer : [ freezes the cop ]
  • Helen : Dash, do have something you want to tell your father about school?
  • Dash : [ nervously ] Oh, uh... Well, we dissected a frog...
  • Helen : Dash got sent to the office again.
  • Bob : [ distracted ] Good, good.
  • Helen : No, Bob. That's bad.
  • Bob : What?
  • Bob : What? What for?
  • Dash : Nothing!
  • Helen : He put a tack on the teacher's chair. *During* class.
  • Dash : Nobody saw me. You could barely see it on the tape.
  • Bob : They caught you on tape and you still got away with it? Whoa! You must have been booking! How fast do you think you were going?
  • Helen : Bob, we are not encouraging this!
  • [ Bob notices the little boy on the tricycle staring at him for the second day in a row ]
  • Bob : Well, what are *you* waiting for?
  • Little Boy on Tricycle : I don't know. Something amazing, I guess.
  • Bob : [ sighs ] Me too, kid.
  • Frozone : Superladies? They're always trying to tell you their secret identity... think it'll strengthen the relationship or something like that. I say, "Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that. I mean, you tell me you're, uh... S-Super, Mega, Ultra Lightning Babe, that's alright with me. I'm good... I'm good.
  • Syndrome : You, sir, truly are Mr. Incredible. You know, I was right to idolize you? I always knew you were tough, but tricking the probe by hiding under the bones of another super? Oh, MAN! I'm still geeking out about it!
  • Syndrome : And then you just had to go and ruin the ride. I mean, Mr. Incredible calling for help?
  • [ Mocking voice ]
  • Syndrome : Help me! Help me! Lame, lame, lame, lame, *lame*!
  • Gilbert Huph : I'm not happy, Bob. Not happy. Ask me why.
  • Bob : Okay. Why?
  • Gilbert Huph : Why what? Be specific, Bob.
  • Bob : Why are you unhappy?
  • Gilbert Huph : Your customers make me unhappy.
  • Bob : Why? Have you gotten complaints?
  • Gilbert Huph : Complaints I can handle. What I can't handle is your customers' inexplicable knowledge of Insuricare's inner workings. They're experts! Experts, Bob! Exploiting every loophole! Dodging every obstacle! They're penetrating the bureaucracy!
  • Bob : E, I just need a patch job. For... sentimental reasons.
  • Edna : Fine. I will also fix the hobo suit.
  • Bob : You're the best of the best, E
  • Edna : [ Walking up stairs ] Yes, I know, dahling.
  • Lucius : [ Bob and Lucius are sitting in a parked car, reminiscing ] So now I'm in deep trouble. I mean, one more jolt of this death ray and I'm an epitaph. Somehow I manage to find cover and what does Baron von Ruthless do?
  • Bob : [ laughing ] He starts monologuing.
  • Lucius : He starts monologuing! He starts like, this prepared speech about how *feeble* I am compared to him, how *inevitable* my defeat is, how *the world* *will soon* *be his*, yadda yadda yadda.
  • Bob : Yammering.
  • Lucius : Yammering! I mean, the guy has me on a platter and he won't shut up!
  • Frozone : Just like old times, huh Bob?
  • Mr. Incredible : [ slapping him in the back ] Just like old times.
  • Frozone : Ha-ha, yeah. Hurt then, too. Ow.
  • Elastigirl : I think your father is in trouble.
  • Violet : If you haven't noticed, Mom, we're not doin' so hot either.
  • Elastigirl : [ on Jack-Jack ] All right, well, who'd you get?
  • [ scene switch to the Parr home ]
  • Kari : You don't have to worry about one single thing, Mrs. Parr. I've got this baby-sitting thing wired. I've taken courses and learned CPR, and I've got excellent marks and certificates I can produce on demand.
  • Elastigirl : Kari?
  • Kari : I also brought Mozart to play while he sleeps to make him smarter because leading experts say Mozart makes babies smarter.
  • Elastigirl : Kari...
  • Kari : ...And the beauty part is the babies don't even have to listen 'cause they're asleep! You know, I wish my parents played Mozart when I slept because half the time I don't even know what the heck anyone's talking about!
  • Elastigirl : Kari, I really don't feel comfortable with this. I'll pay you for your trouble but I'd really rather call a service.
  • Kari : Oh, there's really no need, Mrs. Parr. I can totally handle anything this baby can dish out.
  • [ to Jack-Jack ]
  • Kari : Can't I, little baby? Who can handle it? Who can handle it?
  • Mr. Incredible : [ yelling to Helen as she holds up the RV ] How ya doin', honey?
  • Elastigirl : [ screaming back ] Do I have to answer?
  • Kari : [ on phone message ] Hi, this is Kari, sorry for freakin' out but your baby has *special needs*.
  • Edna : Men at Robert's age are often unstable... prone to weakness.
  • Helen : What are you saying?
  • Edna : Do you know where he is?
  • Helen : Of course...
  • Edna : Do you *know* where he is?

Bomb Voyage

Bomb Voyage is a minor antagonist from the Disney/Pixar film The Incredibles. He was a

Bomb Voyage

longtime enemy of Mr. Incredible .

Background [ ]

The Incredibles

Bomb Voyage is a recurring enemy of Mr. Incredible as he is introduced. He is a mime-like criminal who speaks French, although it was hinted that he knew English as well.

When he is first introduced, Bomb Voyage crashes through a brick wall after stealing money. Just before Mr. Incredible could fight Bomb Voyage, a young Buddy (as "IncrediBoy", Mr. Incredible's so-called sidekick) arrived and tried to appeal to Mr. Incredible that he would be a worthy sidekick for Mr. Incredible (and that he invented new rocket boots, which make him get around so fast). Mr. Incredible then told Buddy, "Fly home, Buddy. I work alone." Bomb Voyage took advantage of the distraction to aid his escape. As Buddy flew off to get the police, Bomb Voyage put a bomb on Buddy's cape (unbeknownst to Buddy), forcing Mr.

He was also partially responsible for the Anti-Super Legislation Act being enacted, as the bomb he placed on Buddy Pine was later dislodged from his cape due to Mr. Incredible and managed to land and detonate on a railroad track, which forced Mr. Incredible to stand in the path of the train to prevent it from going through the newly made hole in the tracks, which resulted in the passengers suing Mr. Incredible, and acting as the jury in his lawsuit trial, that eventually led to it being passed.

It is unknown what became of him afterwards, and he is presumably at large.

The Incredibles (video game)

In the video game version, Voyage is the main villain for the first three levels of the game and he speaks English. In the last level he is involved in, he recreates the scene in the movie, throwing a bomb in Buddy Pine's cape, forcing Mr. Incredible to save him. After this, he attempts to escape in a helicopter, and Mr. Incredible defeats him by throwing six bombs at him, causing it to fly out of control and presumably crash, killing Voyage.

The Incredibles: The Comic Book

In the comic series, Bomb Voyage is recruited by Xerek to make the Eiffel Tower vanish with one of his bombs, and later meets Elastigirl and Mirage in person when they arrive to investigate, when he attempts to escape, Elastigirl follows him throughout Paris and eventually shakes Xerek's location out of him. Since it has been 15 years since his appearance in the movie, Bomb Voyage has aged significantly, with a potbelly and balding hair.

Where Kamala Harris Stands on the Issues: Abortion, Immigration and More

She wants to protect the right to abortion nationally. Here’s what else to know about her positions.

  • Share full article

bomb voyage ne

By Maggie Astor

  • Published July 21, 2024 Updated Aug. 24, 2024

With Vice President Kamala Harris having replaced President Biden on the Democratic ticket, her stances on key issues will be scrutinized by both parties and the nation’s voters.

She has a long record in politics: as district attorney of San Francisco, as attorney general of California, as a senator, as a presidential candidate and as vice president.

Here is an overview of where she stands.

Ms. Harris supports legislation that would protect the right to abortion nationally, as Roe v. Wade did before it was overturned in 2022, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

After the Dobbs ruling, she became central to the Biden campaign’s efforts to keep the spotlight on abortion, given that Mr. Biden — with his personal discomfort with abortion and his support for restrictions earlier in his career — was a flawed messenger. In March, she made what was believed to be the first official visit to an abortion clinic by a president or vice president.

She consistently supported abortion rights during her time in the Senate, including cosponsoring legislation that would have banned common state-level restrictions, like requiring doctors to perform specific tests or have hospital admitting privileges in order to provide abortions.

As a presidential candidate in 2019, she argued that states with a history of restricting abortion rights in violation of Roe should be subject to what is known as pre-clearance for new abortion laws — those laws would have to be federally approved before they could take effect. That proposal is not viable now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe.

Climate change

Ms. Harris has supported the Biden administration’s climate efforts , including legislation that provided hundreds of billions of dollars in tax credits and rebates for renewable energy and electric vehicles.

“It is clear the clock is not just ticking, it is banging,” she said in a speech last year , referring to increasingly severe and frequent disasters spurred by climate change. “And that is why, one year ago, President Biden and I made the largest climate investment in America’s history.”

During her 2020 presidential campaign, she emphasized the need for environmental justice , a framework that calls for policies to address the adverse effects that climate change has on poor communities and people of color. She has emphasized that as vice president as well.

In 2019, Ms. Harris, then a senator, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democrat of New York, introduced legislation that would have evaluated environmental rules and laws by how they affected low-income communities. It would have also established an independent Office of Climate and Environmental Justice Accountability and created a “senior adviser on climate justice” within several federal agencies. In 2020, Ms. Harris introduced a more sweeping version of the bill. None of the legislation was passed.

Ms. Harris was tasked with leading the Biden administration’s efforts to secure voting rights legislation, a job she asked for . The legislation — which went through several iterations but was ultimately blocked in the Senate — would have countered voting restrictions in Republican-led states, limited gerrymandering and regulated campaign finance more strictly.

This year, she met with voting rights advocates and described a strategy that included creating a task force on threats to election workers and challenging state voting restrictions in court.

She has condemned former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. In a speech in 2022 marking the anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, she said that day had showed “what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful.” She added, “What was at stake then, and now, is the right to have our future decided the way the Constitution prescribes it: by we the people, all the people.”

Economic policy

In campaign events this year, Ms. Harris has promoted the Biden administration’s economic policies, including the infrastructure bill that Mr. Biden signed, funding for small businesses, a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act that capped the cost of insulin for people on Medicare and student debt forgiveness.

She indicated at an event in May that the administration’s policies to combat climate change would also bring economic benefits by creating jobs in the renewable energy industry. At another event , she promoted more than $100 million in Energy Department grants for auto parts manufacturers to pivot to electric vehicles, which she said would “help to keep our auto supply chains here in America.”

As a senator, she introduced legislation that would have provided a tax credit of up to $6,000 for middle- and low-income families, a proposal she emphasized during her presidential campaign as a way to address income inequality.

Immigration

One of Ms. Harris’s mandates as vice president has been to address the root causes of migration from Latin America, like poverty and violence in migrants’ home countries. Last year, she announced $950 million in pledges from private companies to support Central American communities. Similar commitments made previously totaled about $3 billion.

In 2021, she visited the U.S.-Mexico border and said : “This issue cannot be reduced to a political issue. We’re talking about children, we’re talking about families, we are talking about suffering.”

More recently, she backed a bipartisan border security deal that Mr. Biden endorsed but Mr. Trump, by urging Republican lawmakers to kill it , effectively torpedoed. The legislation would have closed the border if crossings reached a set threshold, and it would have funded thousands of new border security agents and asylum officers. “We are very clear, and I think most Americans are clear, that we have a broken immigration system and we need to fix it,” Ms. Harris said in March .

Israel and Gaza

Ms. Harris called in March for an “immediate cease-fire” in Gaza and described the situation there as a “humanitarian catastrophe.” She said that “the threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated” but also that “too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.”

In an interview later that month , she emphasized her opposition to an Israeli invasion of Rafah, the city in southern Gaza to which more than a million people had fled. “I have studied the maps,” she said. “There’s nowhere for those folks to go, and we’re looking at about 1.5 million people in Rafah who are there because they were told to go there, most of them.”

She has said on multiple occasions that she supports a two-state solution.

Racial justice

Racial justice was a theme of Ms. Harris’s presidential campaign. In a memorable debate exchange in 2019 , she denounced Mr. Biden’s past work with segregationist senators and opposition to school busing mandates.

She has called for ending mandatory minimum sentences, cash bail and the death penalty, which disproportionately affect people of color.

Amid the protests that followed the police killing of George Floyd in 2020, she was one of the senators who introduced the Justice in Policing Act, which would have made it easier to prosecute police officers, created a national registry of police misconduct and required officers to complete training on racial profiling. It was not passed.

Her record as a prosecutor also came into play during her presidential campaign. Critics noted that as attorney general of California, she had generally avoided stepping in to investigate police killings.

This biography of Elizabeth II is a very unusual masterpiece

R obert Graves, seldom a shrinking violet, on receiving the late Queen’s Medal for Poetry, in person, aged 73, gave her a metaphorical score of 10: “You’ve done it beautifully, my dear.” Emboldened by her laughter, he informed her that they were both descended, via Edward IV, from the Prophet Mohammed, and suggested that she might mention this next Christmas, for the benefit of her Muslim subjects.

Lord Weinstock, swimming one day with Lord Wyatt, mentioned that the Queen didn’t eat shellfish. “That is probably because of her Jewish ancestry, Prince Albert being the son of his mother and a Jewish music master,” replied Wyatt, who was the “Voice of Reason” in The News of the World for many years.

In this fat, funny, fact-filled biography of Elizabeth II, Craig Brown notes that more is discoverable about her life day by day than about his mother’s, or his own. He calls his method, already triumphantly deployed on the Beatles and Princess Margaret , a kaleidoscope or scatter-gun, but it is more like a mosaic. If some tesserae are ill-shapen or just fragments of broken mirror, a picture emerges through the skill of the mosaicist.

I enjoyed A Voyage Around the Queen so much that I wished it were longer than its 672 pages. The whole life is covered chronologically through thematic chapters. One, on who curtsies to whom, contains this surprising remark from Princess Margaret about her grandmother: “I detested Queen Mary. Of course, she had an inferiority complex. We were Royal and she was not.” It was a matter of birth.

The hand-woven tablecloth given by Mahatma Gandhi as a wedding-present to her other granddaughter was mistaken by Queen Mary for one of his celebrated loincloths: “Such an indelicate object – what a horrible thing!” Mistaken identity, however, could not often have been experienced by Jeannette Charles (1927-2024) in a career as a lookalike. She resembled the Queen only “as she might appear in a bad dream”, Brown judges, launching into a cheering chapter on the Queen in dreams.

As for the interpretation of dreams, here comes Lucian Freud in a chapter on the Queen’s sittings for his portrait, and Rolf Harris in a chapter on his. Both say even more about the artists than about the Queen. Only Rolf Harris had his honour, a CBE, revoked – like  Nicolae Ceaușescu’s knighthood the day before his death and Mussolini’s after Italy declared war.

This is not the sort of book to discuss the Queen’s constitutional role theoretically, but we learn that Prince Philip’s mother’s father had a dragon tattoo stretching from his chest to his legs. As for the Prince’s quips, they benefited from the right audience. He once asked Joan Walley, a very sincere Left-ish feminist MP, “Where do you represent?” “Stoke,” she replied. “Ghastly place, isn’t it?” he said. In a list for a periodical of his 14 “most ugsome words”, Prince Philip included, along with nihilism , charismatic , gay and conurbation , the tricky term camp . Since Craig Brown delights in bit parts for Isobel Barnett, Gerald Nabarro, Dorothy Squires, Lulu, David Starkey, Antony Armstrong-Jones and Norman Wisdom, it is clear that the concept of camp is not entirely ugsome to him even before he devotes a chapter to it.

All the more powerful, then, are sudden eruptions of violence: the evisceration of a corgi; wounds inflicted by the IRA bomb that killed Lord Mountbatten; the author’s grandfather shooting himself in the stomach at the dinner table, declaring: “Now look what you’ve made me do.” A technique used by the fiction writer Flannery O’Connor, this mustn’t be done too frequently. It’s not overdone here.

But amid the dullness of royal duties – “Have you come far?” – the surgeon David Nott tells a different story. Just back from volunteer work as a surgeon in Aleppo amid scenes too terrible to detail, he was invited to a lunch with the Queen for eminent people and found when he tried to reply to her that his bottom lip quivered and he couldn’t say a word. She asked: “Shall I help you?” She talked about her corgis, and biscuits were brought and they fed them and stroked them for half an hour. “She did it because she knew I was seriously traumatised. The humanity of what she was doing was unbelievable.”

A side to the late Queen went beyond the Eeyorish. At the beacon-lighting for her Silver Jubilee, the army officer in charge confided: “Ma’am, I have to say that absolutely everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong.” “Oh, good,” she replied. “What fun!”

Craig Brown chooses as a striking image of Elizabeth II’s reign the photograph of her alone in a black Covid mask in the stalls at Windsor Castle for the funeral of the husband she had met 87 years earlier. And how could the nation thank her for her life of duty? Through a computer-generated Peruvian bear called Paddington, it seemed. In the last year of her life, too frail to attend the thanksgiving service for her Platinum Jubilee at St Paul’s, she had some footage in the can. “Happy Jubilee, Ma’am,” said Paddington. “And… thank you. For everything.” The Queen replied, smiling: “That’s very kind.”
