Great Day Out

Nice Tour, good value for anyone visiting London who wants to see the sights. We preferred the Red Route over the Blue. Tanvir was great, very informative and engaging, even spoke 5 languages and was able to communicate with my non-English speaking in-laws! Would highly recommend the tour! Thanks!

No Refund for No Show

I purchased 2 tickets online for London Big Bus/boat for May 6. When I arrived in the city in the afternoon, we went to the designated stop near our hotel and waited in the rain for an hour — the bus never came. When I advised the company that the bus was a no-show and I could not use the tickets on that day, nor any other time on my short stay in the city, they refused to issue a refund. Ripoff!

Shocking experience

Shocking experience. We got on the red line, drove two stops, were told that the bus wasn’t going on the red line anymore so then got on another bus, got a little further and then were told that we had to get off this one and get on a third red line bus. All in the span of 15 minutes. No explanation and I had older relatives with me who were exhausted from all the stairs.

We totally wasted £282

We totally wasted £282 for a two day ticket. Boarded the bus at 9:15 am on Friday to head to Buckingham Palace for changing of the guard. Arrived at 11:30!!!! The driver had taken the wrong turn. Refused to let us off the bus so we could walk. Another driver boarded and took over. On Saturday we did not see a bus anywhere. Going to St. Paul’s - walked 1.5 km then had to take a taxi to the British Museum. Again no BigBus although we saw several other company tour buses. We checked the app to see if we could see a bus coming to take us to Euston station. No buses showed. Again had to take a taxi. We used the ticket two times. We will be demanding a refund and will NEVER use or recommend this company.

I don't recommend it

I don't recommend it, bad service in London. I used it in Paris fine, but London was a disaster. It was 8:30 pm and they told us that the bus ended at 9 pm. We were missing about 4 or 5 stops where we had to get off, someone got on and told us that the bus ended there. They gave us no alternative to continue and told us to take public transportation. We were with my son who is a boy. We had paid almost 400 pounds because we hired them for more things, and they left us stranded. I would look for another company because even some buses are destroyed, both the seats and the ability to listen to the guide.

Don’t really know why all the bad…

Don’t really know why all the bad reviews for this company yes it is expensive but it’s LONDON and like any big city things cost more get used to it. Staff were great and drivers have such a hard job driving round the busiest parts of the city what do people expect their own VIP bus lane? If your in a rush and want to see all the sights you can’t go wrong with Big Bus👍

96 pounds for 2 adults, guy who sold the tickets was as nice as they come. Tour is rubbish, kept slippin off my hard plastic uncomfortable seat every time the brakes were hit, driver dangerously stopped in the middle of the street :):) and let us on and others off one driver didn't announce the stops and I couldn't care less about listening to the prerecorded stuff tht they had, another driver was shouting the stops like it was a fish auction. One of there street promoter had am argument with another rival bus tour company at the stop cursing each other arguing about there shi-tty ratings ha ha. The same girl was on one of the bus sitting in the back shouting with her colleagues. Avoid and save ur money. 96 english pounds is way toooo expensive for that kinda crap.

Private School Tour

We went on a private tour for a school trip with children aged 8 and 9. The driver (Paul) and tour guide (Phil) were both excellent - extremely child friendly and accommodating for all of our needs (including toilet breaks!). The children all said it was the best school trip they'd ever been on - they particularly enjoyed the on-board singing and facts that Phil provided! We were lucky to have a dry day so we could sit outside on the top deck. It was such a great, informative and invaluable experience for all of the children, in particular those who had never experienced London before and who probably wouldn't ever get an opportunity like this.

Big Bus almost recklessly killed 30 tourist in Miami

We were coming back from Everglades in Miami and Big Bus driver was eating penuts and breathing heavily while driving. He was very old, didn’t look fit to drive and the AC didn’t work properly. Then he collapsed next to the driver seat. The bus lost control, going left and right on the highway. The bus hit the sign and the bender. As the bus was about to “fly” off the highway, anouther passenger jumped into the driver seat and got it back to the highway and eventually stopped the bus. We pulled the driver up, gave him some watter and he said he was fine and wanted to continue driving. Then all passengers screamed NO and demanded him to open the door so we can get out. When the rescue team came the driver refused medical assistance. Big Bus is very dodgy, covering this up and pretending like nothing happened. They didn’t even send us “we are sorry” emails, let alone offering compensation. We would’ve been killed if it wasn’t for the passenger who saved our lives.

LYING EMPLOYEES

LYING EMPLOYEES I bought a Big Bus combo pack which included the bus tour & london eye. Our particular guide / seller was a real liar, we were never told about our ticket type, were told to come 30 minutes early to queue which wouldn't work as we wouldn't be accepted, directions were wrong and this particular employee seemingly did not care. The queue for the london eye is over 1.5 hours long but he told us its 15 minutes. Please resolve this issue and fire this lying employee

Terrible experience

Terrible experience, booked for all day attractions. Not one place excepted them had to pay again for entry. No guided tour just a bus ride where u had no idea where u were what stop or any history of the buildings just terrible music . Drivers weren't any help either especially with their language barriers. Website and flyers are extremely misleading #ripofbritain. Don't waste your money

Horrible ! The worst bus tour ever. Always waiting more than 30min in every station meanwhile bus from other companies are very frequent. Audio comment ( In french) is poor Can't understand why Bigbus is the most expensive and at the same time delivering the poorest service.

Big bus has always been the best for…

Big bus has always been the best for the range of buses and the drivers, however, the recorded audio is atrocious! You used to have the best live commentary from your staff members but haven't bothered to bring them back since COVID. Now we have to listen to that God awful recording with those "comedians" who are trying to be funny. And I agree with everyone else, 75% of the tour just has music playing instead of anything actually useful to listen to.

Avoid at all costs!

One of the worst bus tours I've been on. Myself and my partner were standing on an overpacked bus with no ability to listen to the commentary. There was no control over the number of people entering the bus with more and more people being wedged together. When we finally did get a seat we spent 1 hour listening to the Beatles while driving around London with minimal factual information about the sites. Whatever information we did hear was an extremely poor attempt at comedy with no substance whatsoever. Avoid this tour at all costs!!! Literally did not learn a thing about the city. What an incredible waste of money.

With no advance warning the green route…

With no advance warning the green route did not stop at Temple Underground Station, causing problems with a pre-arranged meet up. Your map/route guide is poor. Not enough information regarding which direction the bus routes follows - which route is Eastbound and Westbound on your maps?. A different colour for each would be very helpful. Very poor value for money.

Avoid the Big Bus

Today I did the red bus route. I cannot believe that a company that has had so many bad reviews does not appear to have done anything to improve their service. The recorded commentary is very poor. The queen died nearly 2 months ago but the commentary has not been updated to reflect this. I experienced all the previous complaints. I am just very angry with myself that I didn’t read the reviews before I chose The Big Bus over its several competitors. Avoid.

Very bad customer service

Very bad customer service, just been informed 11 of the stops on Saturday will be out of use, no offer of a refund or partial refund at all, out of order selling a service at full price for that day when so many of the stops are unavailable that day.what about a refund ? Over a third of the stops where not in use ? Why not offer a refund or partial refund? Very greedy company, do not use.

Rubbish commentary, bad music!!!!

Bought two tickets from Sealife..... Expected to be given a running commentary from the plug in earphones, as really wanted to know about the history etc., and the passing attractions. There were none!!!!! We plugged in and got irritating music. Asked the old lady driver who just shrugged her shoulders. We did notice that the ticket got us on to a river cruise for free. The live commentary was much better, informative and very funny. Could have missed it, as not mentioned to us when tickets bought.

The staff are amazing

The staff are amazing. Did not like ear pieces as I have hearing aids and they didn't fit very well. By the end of the tour, me ears are really sore. Would have been nice to have a person talking and saying what number stop was approaching as I kept missing my stops. Julie or Julia was awesome. Told us heaps of information about the walking tour I did. Watching og the guard's. Fantastic

This is an absoulte rip off

This is an absoulte rip off. £115 for one adult and 2 kids under 8. No advice on board, not even where and when to change from any of the three lines. An occasional "stopping" sign flashed upstairs completely randomly. Bad tempered and monosylabic staff. I took 2 out of town grandkids and ahshamed that this rips off tourists in my city. For heavens sakes, take a regular bus.

DREADFUL! LONDON 19th August We had prebooked . There was a bus waiting with no driver. The chap who was booking in had disappeared. The next two bus were full to overflowing! People were pushing to get up stairs where there was no room! The route did not follow the printed route! We got off after two stops. The commentary was rubbish just pure drivell ! Not at all happy ! Can I have refund?

A complete waste of money - avoid

We booked 3 tickets on the Big Bus tour today and it was a total Waste of money. We got on the bus with no guidance or instructions- no headphones were provided and the tour comprised of us sitting on the bus with no engagement from anyone whatsoever. In the end we got off after 3 stops and took public transport for a fraction of the price. I would highly recommend that instead of the ridiculous £35 charge, so some reeeach and take the local double decker bus. For about a £10 day travelcard you can hop on and off busses, trains and tubes around the capital! Honestly - todays experience made me feel like I was mugged. Over £100 and ended up having to abandon - would have been cheaper to hire a limo. Avoid.

Not enough busses

Not enough busses, 45min+ wait between (on a good day) You’d be better taking a regular London bus, won’t feel like you’ve been robbed that way - I never got a tour and no possibility of a refund.

My card was charged, I received no tickets and they did not respond.

I purchased 3 bus tickets and my credit card was charged. The website had an error once I clicked to confirm my purchase which caused me to never receive the tickets. I tried to contact Big Bus Tours but they never responded. I even contacted my credit card company, Chase, and filed a dispute but they did not assist which has shocked me. I never took the tour because I obviously never got the tickets. This is very upsetting. I just want others to know and beware. I just wanted my money back because I paid for a service that was never used.

It has been great

It has been great. The company has tried very hard to provide a service with all these protests going on. One improvement would be for the bus driver to announce the stop by the number on our map as us and a few other passengers were trying to follow where we were at. Enjoyed the trip to Greenwich. Would recommend this company.

Feel as misold this tour

Booked this tour at 2.30pm and only wanted the bus tour as wouldn't benefit from river cruise. When paying had trouble seeing terminal and when got on the bus noticed we had been charged for river cruise. Also 24 hour ticket expired at midnight on same day. Driver wouldn't even listen to my query. Ticket bought at Victoria train station. Was misold this tour

DANGEROUS BUS DRIVER I was almost run over by one of…

I was today almost run over by one of your drivers at approximately 5.25 pm 18/3/22 on Kensington High St. I believed that the driver, who had a bus full of passengers was probably looking down at a mobile phone. It transpired that he was actually looking down at a book when he moved forward without looking and almost ran me over. He then went on to sound his horn and abuse me when I remonstrated with him. Please do not board a bus with the reg SN12 APU. You will be taking your life in your hands. I will be taking this matter further as I have photos of the driver and the bus.

This is my second time to London last…

This is my second time to London last year when I was here I didn't get on any of the Buses until last Monday and I did the night tour my first one it was great. I decided to go on one time tonight 8/ 11/ 23 my last night in London fly home Sat after noon to the States. CHRIS did the Narrating Chris did an excellent Job. I Forgot the Drivers name . Buses were over crowded and late

Buses were over crowded and late, however I'm sure some of the problem had to do with the construction on all the roads. The headphones were a great idea BUT...the so called background music was way too loud. Not being able to understand the narrator since I was not from that country and accustomed to the dialect.

Gringo Staff on Christmas Light Tour Bus

We had the misfortune of going on a Christmas Lights Tour in London on 29/12/23 at 7:00 pm. We were a party of 7. We were the first ones in the queue but the attendant took four people from the back of the queue and let them sit in the bus at the front while we all waited to enter the bus but were told that the bus had to be pulled forward to the stop for us to enter. When I objected, a supervisor Sylvester very rudely said I can give you the customer service number and you can get a refund. Having been waiting for more than an hour, I said to him don't play hard ball and ruin our fun your colleague by being unfair has already ruined it for us, to which he again said very rudely, no he hasn't done anything wrong. They were running the service like a racket. They cared less about anyone at all and were extremely rude. In the end when the bus pulled to the stop, the staff let people cut through in front of others and not care about anyone waiting before. They mismanaged it intentionally as they didn't want to put in any effort. People like Sylvester should be stopped from misbehaving with the customers and ruining the customers experience. An absolute waste of £192

A lovely day on the open top bus tours

A lovely day on the open top bus tours. The buses were generally frequent which was great, however we often found ourselves having to wait for the next bus as they were just way too busy and people were having to stand. At times this made for a really uncomfortable trip and almost impossible to enjoy the tour itself. I think it was the red route which was busiest and more red route buses needed I think in peak times. If it wasn’t so crowded on these buses I think it would have been perfect.

Definitely best way to get around…

Definitely best way to get around London and get your bearings. We booked a 2 day bus which included the cruise to Greenwich. The cruise was just as good with live commentary. Didn't get to use the night tour due to the weather. Some very knowledgeable people giving great commentary on the bus. Should of booked this company in Paris also

Expensive and OVERCROWDED

Expensive, overcrowded and overcrowded again! Drivers will let people in until the only thing you see is forehead of a guy standing next to you, oh and, you can’t stand on the second deck or stairs. You would think that for £49 ticket you can at least sit on a bus instead of standing!

Big BUS TOUR FARCE !!!

We were excited and looking forward to the BIg Bus tour in London a few weeks ago. 20 mins into our journey the intercom broke down and we were told we had to change buses. 20 mins later another bus arrived which was completely full and we were then told we would then have to wait for another bus! We were completely fed up at this stage as we had missed a lunch reservation and asked for a refund. We were then informed that we would have to contact customer services to arrange this. 2 WEEKS IN AND I HAVE EMAILED NO LESS THAN 5 TIMES, CHATTED ON THEIR FORUM AND STILL NO REFUND. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!! I would give this Zero Stars if I could, terrible Service !!

Our particular guide / seller was a real liar, we were never told about our ticket type, were told to come 30 minutes early to queue which wouldn't work as we wouldn't be accepted, directions were wrong and this particular employee seemingly did not care. The queue for the london eye is over 1.5 hours long but he told us its 15 minutes. Please resolve this issue and fire this lying employee

Terrible experience

Terrible experience, booked for all day attractions. Not one place excepted them had to pay again for entry. No guided tour just a bus ride where u had no idea where u were what stop or any history of the buildings just terrible music . Drivers weren't any help either especially with their language barriers. Website and flyers are extremely misleading #ripofbritain. Don't waste your money

Horrible ! The worst bus tour ever. Always waiting more than 30min in every station meanwhile bus from other companies are very frequent. Audio comment ( In french) is poor Can't understand why Bigbus is the most expensive and at the same time delivering the poorest service.

Big bus has always been the best for…

Big bus has always been the best for the range of buses and the drivers, however, the recorded audio is atrocious! You used to have the best live commentary from your staff members but haven't bothered to bring them back since COVID. Now we have to listen to that God awful recording with those "comedians" who are trying to be funny. And I agree with everyone else, 75% of the tour just has music playing instead of anything actually useful to listen to.

Avoid at all costs!

One of the worst bus tours I've been on. Myself and my partner were standing on an overpacked bus with no ability to listen to the commentary. There was no control over the number of people entering the bus with more and more people being wedged together. When we finally did get a seat we spent 1 hour listening to the Beatles while driving around London with minimal factual information about the sites. Whatever information we did hear was an extremely poor attempt at comedy with no substance whatsoever. Avoid this tour at all costs!!! Literally did not learn a thing about the city. What an incredible waste of money.

With no advance warning the green route…

With no advance warning the green route did not stop at Temple Underground Station, causing problems with a pre-arranged meet up. Your map/route guide is poor. Not enough information regarding which direction the bus routes follows - which route is Eastbound and Westbound on your maps?. A different colour for each would be very helpful. Very poor value for money.

Avoid the Big Bus

Today I did the red bus route. I cannot believe that a company that has had so many bad reviews does not appear to have done anything to improve their service. The recorded commentary is very poor. The queen died nearly 2 months ago but the commentary has not been updated to reflect this. I experienced all the previous complaints. I am just very angry with myself that I didn’t read the reviews before I chose The Big Bus over its several competitors. Avoid.
