Full menu TheFork – Les Gens Heureux

Wow! We live in Philly, USA which has amazing food, so most of the restaurants here were just ‘OK’ in comparison to what we’re accustomed to. But this restaurant was next level! The presentation is spectacular-each course was a marvel of colors and textures. The... flavors were unique and balanced. The server explained how the chef envisioned the dish to be eaten and enjoyed. Great wine pairings and just a lovely experience. That sounds super pretentious but it wasn’t at all stuffy, old school French. More of a creative, exuberance! We were so thrilled we immediately made a reservation to come back again for lunch. More

Wonderful friendly service, a great atmosphere & delicious food that really tantalises the taste buds!! Coming from Shropshire we were delighted to have Shropshire Blue on the cheese board!! Highly recommend

The best meal we had on our two week trip including our own wedding meal! The staff are great and are a true reflection of excellent customer service. The food… Devine! Order the octopus followed by the veal and you won’t be disappointed. We love... this place! More

This was a really unpleasant experience which spoiled our morning in Tours. Our mistake was probably taking our chIldren and asking for a menu enfant - our children were clearly not erudite enough for them. When announced a croque monsieur we asked if they could... have it without the ham- the answer “non” as it was clearly coming out of a packet rather than being made. Fine we make do, and don’t make a fuss. Us having a native french speaker was also not enough, it was clear they had no time for us - suspect we know why. There were 4 items on the menu and when the manager sighed and said “no beef no veal” we should have taken that as our cue to leave. A menu from outside had previously been flashed in front of me without explanation. So I remembered there was pork on the outside menu so decided on that without knowing what it was. All the food being brought from the kitchen I was sure this would be good too. A soupy green pasta dish was presented, I said I’d asked for the pork and the manager looked up and shouted across the restaurant it was the pork in front of the other customers. This was embarrassing. True there were some pieces of pork within a broccoli pasta, which was poorly put together. My wife’s vegetarian dish did seem very good. I am sure you could have a decent meal here, but the manager was so unpleasant, made it clear we were not welcome and we left as soon as possible after paying not an inconsiderable amount of money. We spend plenty of time in France given family here and have never had this kind of treatment because it’s not the way you speak to people who are polite and paying to eat in your establishment. There will be much better places to eat. More

We wanted to have a nice dinner and at first everything looked promising but the Food is terrible. My partner had fish that tasted like nothing and I had e vegetarian dish that was terrible. The kitchen in this restaurant wants to do as less... effort as possible and it’s all prefab food. Don’t waste your money here. More

I'm so disappointed by your review. Everything here is home made, cooked with fresh products and even sourced locally when possible. Customers usually really enjoy the vegetarian dish for its quality and variety. The team puts a lot of efforts into their work. Next time,... More

Nice deco but frankly we left disappointed and still hungry for the 130 Euros spent. Overpriced for what you get. Small main plate, almost missing protein portion. Spilled aperitif by the young staff. Pay at the entrance, cashier quick to want to settle note with... no receipt provided. I would not go again. There must be better options in Tours. More

I had a lovely evening here at Les Gens Heureux; there is a lovely atmosphere in this restaurant where everyone looked relaxed and happy. Maybe it's in the name!! The menu was superb and the food delicious - I was so impressed. What's more, the... French owner (Lucie) speaks fantastic English and Spanish so if there is anything you don't understand she'll be able to help. More

Parked close by and before leaving Tours we decided to eat, this cafe/restaurant was close, looked clean and was half full so we decided to dive in and have lunch. Very glad we did, I had a chicken dish in a creamy sauce on a... bed of gnocchi with ham & veg on the side, it was delicious & the best meal I had in the 10 day trip. Very reasonable prices too. If I ever go back to Tours I will definitely have another meal there, they deserve my custom. More

We came across this restaurant by chance and were delighted. Absolutely charming decor: a little quirky but not trying too hard, tables set not too close but close enough to give a pleasant ambience. We were greeted and made so welcome. The food was delicious;... not too much choice but enough to be intrigued, the lamb was superb and the chocolate dessert was out of this world! Lovely wines too at a reasonable price - would definitely revisit. More

Food was delicious, small but interesting selection, which I prefer.. , staff/owners are really great and helpful, price also good, definitely not our last time here, English speaking

I stumbled on this lovely restaurant on a beautiful sunny day after not receiving service from 2 other places. I ordered the starter/entrée and the main plat specials of the day. They were superb and used current fall vegetables and fresh (I think) fish. The... staff were excited to speak English with me. I’d love to go back. More

Food was amazing!! service was even better! The owner took time out of her night to help us translate the menu into English! she was one of the nicest sweetest servers/ owners during my whole time in France for sure recommended to any Americans traveling... abroad in France. She even helped my friends the next day order a taxi back to the hotel, when they went into town to shop! More

Thanks a lot for taking time to write a review. I'm pleased you enjoyed our restaurant.

I was in France with a group of travel agents on a tour and we spent some time in Tours. We stumbled upon Les Gens Heureux for dinner and it was by far the best meal I had on my trip. The scallops were so... fresh and the coconut tapioca dessert was so memorable I'm still thinking about it to this day. The owner was an amazing woman who actually saw us on the street the next day and remembered who we were! She was also so kind and called us a taxi so we didn't have to try and do it in French. I highly recommend everyone to stop and enjoy the incredible food and great owners! More

Very good. Inventive cuisine. Limited menu each night. Good value. Not as inventive (or as spotty) as Le Turon. And not a good as the great-but-older-school Le Theleme (which is by the train station.)

We are staying in Tours and have a Michelin restaurant reserved for another day. We still wanted to eat well without breaking the bank, and after much consideration, we decided on Les Gens Heureux... best decision! We went around 7 (19h) in time for Happy... Hour and enjoyed their delicious, half priced cocktails. We tried both appetizers (entrées) and got the fish and the duckette (canette) — both delicious! With the wine pricing at about 5 euros per glass, wine pairing with each dish is totally doable. They have recommended pairings listed on their menu. My French is just enough to get by, and I appreciated that the waitstaff realized I wanted to practice my French and helped me out. At other places people just cut me off and start speaking in English... anyways, we were in love with this little place! I will say, in search for ice cream we went a little further in and saw there was a huge square with a ton of other restaurants where clearly it was the place to be for locals and prices were somewhat lower. You won’t really find those places on review sites, so we are planning to explore there for another meal another time. Nevertheless, we loved our meal at Les Gens Heureux and wholeheartedly recommend to those who want to experience French culinary arts at a reasonable price! More

Capri.com: Your complete guide

"There is no spot in the world with such delightful possibilities of repose as this little isle."

So said Charles Dickens when speaking about Capri over a century ago, and his observation still rings true today. From the Faraglioni and Tiberius' Leap to the sparkling sea in the bays of Marina Piccola and Marina Grande—everything on Capri is an invitation to relax. The island moves at a slower pace, calling you to immerse yourself in its natural beauty and bask in the warm Mediterranean sun.

Where is the island of Capri?

Capri is set in the blue waters of Italy's Tyrrhenian Sea in the Bay of Naples just off the Sorrentine Peninsula in the southern Italian region of Campania. The island is connected to the mainland all year round with ferries and hydrofoils that run from Naples (Napoli) and Sorrento. There are also ferries from Ischia, Salerno, and the Amalfi Coast (Positano and Amalfi) in the summer months. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Capri from Sorrento and about an hour to reach Capri from Naples by ferry, so is an easy day trip from the mainland.

Where should I stay on the island?

The Isle of Capri has two municipal areas: Capri town and Anacapri. Capri town is home to the famed "Piazzetta" and the nearby Via Camerelle, both lined with high-end boutiques, fashionable cafés, luxury hotels, and nightclubs. This is where celebrities from across the globe come to see and be seen by day and by night. The island's main church, the Cathedral of Santo Stefano with its famed bell tower, is also located here. Inside the church, you can see the silver bust of San Costanzo, the patron saint of the island.

To reach the Piazzetta, you have to catch the funicular from Marina Grande, the port at sea level. Marina Grande is also home to the largest and most family-friendly beach on the island. On the opposite coast, Marina Piccola is home to the only other beach.

The other island town is Anacapri, which sits on the high inland hills at the foot of Monte Solaro. There are no beaches here, but below the town there are the rocky coastlines of the Punta Carena lighthouse and Gradola, near the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), where beach clubs have been set up. Anacapri has a delightful historic center, largely pedestrian, where there are excellent restaurants for sampling Neapolitan specialties like fresh mozzarella caprese salad and local fish and seafood. You can also visit Axel Munthe's famed Villa San Michele.

What should I see on Capri?

The first thing you should do when arriving for a Capri day trip is take a boat tour around the island to admire iconic landmarks like the Faraglioni and grottoes by sea. You can also take the chairlift to the top of Monte Solaro, stroll the Pizzolungo trail to the natural Arch, visit the Gardens of Augustus over the scenic Via Krupp, take in the Charterhouse of San Giacomo, admire the breathtaking views from the Tragara overlook, and tour the ancient Roman ruins of Tiberius' villas.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes on Capri, because you will be doing quite a bit of walking. Either on hiking trails through the countryside, along flower-lined town lanes, or across scenic overlooks with views of the sea...Capri is an island best explored on foot.

What agency inspects restaurants in Florida?

Routine regulation and inspection of restaurants is conducted by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The Department of Health is responsible for investigation and control of food-borne illness outbreaks associated with all food establishments.

How do I report a dirty restaurant in Florida?

If you see abuses of state standards, report them and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation will send inspectors. Call the Florida DBPR at 850-487-1395 or report a restaurant for health violations online .

Get the whole story at our restaurant inspection database .

What does all that terminology in Florida restaurant inspections mean?

Basic violations are those considered against best practices.

A warning is issued after an inspector documents violations that must be corrected by a certain date or within a specified number of days from receipt of the inspection report.

An administrative complaint is a form of legal action taken by the division. Insufficient compliance after a warning, a pattern of repeat violations or existence of serious conditions that warrant immediate action may result in the division initiating an administrative complaint against the establishment. Says the division website: "Correcting the violations is important, but penalties may still result from violations corrected after the warning time was over."

An emergency order — when a restaurant is closed by the inspector — is based on an immediate threat to the public. Here, the Division of Hotels and Restaurants director has determined that the establishment must stop doing business and any division license is suspended to protect health, safety or welfare of the public.

A 24-hour call-back inspection will be performed after an emergency closure or suspension of license.

Golfer Grayson Murray dies at age 30 day after withdrawing from Colonial, PGA Tour says

AP logo

FT. WORTH, Texas -- Two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray died Saturday morning at age 30, one day after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Cup Challenge at Colonial.

There were no immediate details on the circumstances of his death, only shock and grief from the PGA Tour and his management team.

"I am at a loss for words," PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said. "The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones."

His management company, GSE Worldwide, confirmed the death and said it was heartbroken.

"We will hold off on commenting until we learn further details, but our heart aches for his family, his friends and all who loved him during this very difficult time," GSE said in a statement.

Monahan said he spoke with Murray's parents to offer condolences, and they asked that the tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, continue.

He said grief counselors would be on site at the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour event in Knoxville, Tennessee. Monahan said he was headed to Texas.

Murray, who had dealt with alcohol and mental health issues in the past, made a massive turnaround this year and won the Sony Open, hitting wedge to 3 feet for birdie on the final hole to get into a playoff and winning it with a 40-foot putt.

He also won the Barbasol Championship in 2017.

Murray was No. 58 in the world rankings coming off a tie for 43rd in the PGA Championship last week at Valhalla. He also made the cut in his Masters debut, finishing 51st, and was in the field for the U.S. Open next month at Pinehurst No. 2.

Murray, who grew up in North Carolina, was among the most talented juniors in the country. He won the prestigious Junior World Championship in San Diego three straight years and earned the Arnold Palmer Scholarship at Wake Forest.

He wound up going to three colleges, lastly at Arizona State, and won as a 22-year-old PGA Tour rookie at the Barbasol Championship.

Murray said when he won the Sony Open in January that he had been sober for eight months, was engaged to be married and felt his best golf was ahead of him. He was appointed to the 16-member Player Advisory Council.

"My story is not finished. I think it's just beginning," Murray said in Hawaii. "I hope I can inspire a lot of people going forward that have their own issues."

Murray said he used to drink during tournament weeks as a rookie because he knew he had talent and felt he was invincible. He also brought attention to himself through social media, openly criticizing other players and getting into one social media spat with Kevin Na over Na's reputation as a slow player.

But he felt like he turned the corner when he sought help - letting others fight for him, is how he explained it this year.

"It took me a long time to get to this point," Murray said in January. "That was seven years ago, over seven years ago. I'm a different man now. I would not be in this position right now today if I didn't put that drink down eight months ago."

This story has been corrected to show that Murray won the Barbasol Championship in 2017, not last year.

From our tour. Impressions of our American tourist:

Arriving at the Kremlin (which means “fortress”) made of its red brick walls, our guide noted the “swallowtail” border at the top of the wall that surrounds the 2km distance of the wall, a result of the style of the Italian architects hired for this job.

While our guide went to secure our pre-ordered tickets to see the Armory Chamber and the Diamond Fund, we admired the abundant hydrangeas.  It was this destination that spurred Linda and me to seek a private tour guide....Viking was NOT going to take us to the Diamond Fund....

Understandably, since the space is too small to manage 200 people, even if we are divided into 'subgroups.'  And, I am so glad we did not miss it.  Fabergé eggs are always on my list of favorite things, and I was delighted to see some I had never seen in the 3 other exhibits I have visited in the US.

The collection of royal garments, the extensive collection of impressive pieces of silver (that tarnish to a lovely dull gold hue....not black as my silver does....how does THAT happen??) used for serving or given as gifts or used in religious worship; armaments, including intricately inlaid rifles and sets of armor and chain mail; and royal carriages.  I would not have been happy if we had not seen this collection.

We made our way into Cathedral Square, the Kremlin’s ancient center framed by three large cathedrals in the old Russian style, the Imposing Ivan the Great Belltower, and the Palace of Facets, and the church of the 12 Apostles (because of the number of onion domes).

The 3 cathedrals are: Annunciation Cathedral (late 1490's); Assumption Cathedral (early 15th C.); Archangel Cathedral (early 16th C.).  Our guide explained that the 3 cathedrals represented a type of 'circle of life'....daily prayer/bread taken at Annunciation Cathedral; where the heads were crowned at Assumption Cathedral, and a place of final rest for the royalty and patriarchs at Archangel Cathedral.

These cathedrals do not function as places of worship....they are museums....period!  There is no sanctuary space....there are small rooms; also, larger rooms whose high, elaborately painted ceilings rise into a dome where the face of Christ looks down upon you; and rooms with massive altarpiece art.

I am amazed they survive, considering where the relegation of religion after the Revolution.  Thank goodness they do....the frescoes, the art, the icons are expansive and impressive.  We were not allowed to photograph; so sorry.

The Ivan the Great Bell Tower is 263-ft. high; although in place since 1329, this modern version dates from 1600.  No building was allowed to be taller than it was in that time.

Had we stayed with the ship's itinerary today, the only noteworthy sightseeing we would have done of the Kremlin is the Tsar's Bell and the Tsar's Cannon.  Yes, they are huge.  No, neither ever 'worked.'  A wayward drop of cold water on the hot metal silenced the big bell for the ages; and the Tsar's Cannon was never fired.  Yes, we were glad we were with Inna and seeing so much more.

The chateau of Chantilly is a picture postcard perfect with a fairy tale castle set in its own moat (lakes) surrounded by acres of formal gardens. The chateau has a very chequered history, both throughout Mediaeval times and later during the revolution when it was looted and eventually repossessed by an English private bank until the mid-1870s when Henri d’Orleans restored the chateau to its original glory.

This beautiful chateau was also the setting for much of the James Bond ‘A View to A Kill’ film as well as the setting for many periods of French dramas.

Inside the chateau is the Condé Museum, which after the Louvre is the most impressive art gallery in France with over 1,000 paintings, 2,500 drawings, and 2,500 engravings exhibited.

There is also a unique collection of rare and precious books which can be found in the chateau’s magnificent library – at last count, there are over 30,000 rare books here. One of the most valuable medieval manuscripts in Europe is housed here: The Very Rich Hours of the Duke of Berry (the original is not on display however there is a copy behind a glass display cabinet to see).

Your tour will also take in the Gallery Psyche, this gallery of stained glass panels depicts a 2nd Century love story about Psyche, a princess more beautiful than Aphrodite and Cupid as well as the Great Apartments and Prince’s bedroom which has panels dating back to  1720.

Take a look at the Grande Singerie – a unique room decorated with murals depicting monkeys in various scenes. Following your tour inside the chateau lunch at the restaurant situated in the Anglo-Chinese gardens, complete with authentic English thatched cottages (think Anne Hathaway’s cottage in Stratford upon Avon!) before a private tour of the formal gardens of the chateau.

The most unusual feature of the gardens is the large amount of water features: instead of a moat the castle has lakes to the front and the rear and the gardens themselves also incorporate large pond areas in the English-style garden.

We end our trip to Chantilly with a visit to the Great Stables. This magnificent stable building could easily be mistaken for a chateau or an equally important building given its grandeur and scale of the building.  Built by Jean Aubery for the 7th Prince of Conde in 1719 (although construction was not completed until 1735) and is now home to the museum of the Horse which charts man’s relationship with horses since the start of civilization.

After a busy day exploring Chantilly, relax in the back of your air-conditioned vehicle and let your chauffeur take you back to your hotel in Paris.

Day 5: Versailles

Versailles palace private tour

Escape the bustle of Paris today and head out to Versailles, the most opulent of all French Chateaux where your private guide will accompany you on your visit to the Chateau, its gardens, and finally a stop in Versailles town center.

This magnificent chateau was created by Louis XIV as a demonstration of not only his personal wealth and power but to show the world French architecture and opulence.

Probably the most famous room in the chateaux is the Galeries des Glaces (hall of mirrors), comprising over 350 specially constructed mirrors that line the impressive room. Every part of the chateau was constructed, using only French materials and workmen who worked day and night to create this architectural masterpiece.

Following your tour of the chateaux, you will then take a private garden tour to explore the extravagant grounds surrounding Versailles The gardens took over 40 years to complete and comprise 50 elaborate fountains decorated with sculptures of gilded lead or metal portraying characters from Greco-Roman mythology.

Spend the afternoon visiting the famous indoor and outdoor food markets situated in the heart of Versailles where you can sample artisanal French produce from around the country – from Jambon de Bayonne to truffle-infused Roquefort to hand-made chocolate from the finest Parisian chocolatiers this market has it all!

3 tours restants

Day 6: Burgundy - Chablis

Church of Saint-Claire de Préhy in the Chablis vineyard in Burgundy.

This morning your driver will be waiting for you in reception ready to start your 3 days of touring in Burgundy, located in the east-central part of France, and home to some of the world’s best-known wines.

This wine region has 5 key growing areas: Chablis, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, Côte des Nuits and Macconais and has been a wine-producing region since 854 when local monks first arrived in the region.

Famous for lean, unoaked Chardonnay, Chablis is the growing region located furthest north and is geographically set apart from the rest of Burgundy. The dominant soil here is called “Kimmeridgian” limestone, just like in Champagne. Its white, chalky texture is great at retaining and reflecting the warmth of the sun, sorely needed this far north, which also helps the grapes ripen.

Today we visit a Grand Cru winery where you will have a tour of the vines with the vigneron (vintner) before returning to the winery for a private cellar tour followed by tastings and formal lunch.

In the afternoon explore the pretty town of Chablis with beautiful Mediaeval half-timbered houses and charming wine shops and restaurants.

Day 7: Burgundy - Dijon

Eglise Notre Dame Cathedral private tour

This morning your driver guide takes you to the historic capital city of Burgundy – Dijon, home of the renowned French mustard and also the birthplace of the creator of the most famous monument in the world – Gustave Eiffel.

It is also the city where the famous cocktail Kir and Kir Royale were invented by the then mayor of Dijon, Canon Felix Kir.

Dijon is also famous for having the most original buildings over 300 years old or more across the whole of France and on today’s tour you will see amazing architectural buildings from Mediaeval to Renaissance to Art Deco and Art nouveau all in the same city.

In the Middle Ages, the Dukes of Burgundy were almost as important as the Kings of France and were almost an independent state within France. The city center of Dijon is classified as a UNESCO world heritage site and we start our tour here at the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy which now houses a museum charting the development of Burgundy as well as a museum of fine art, considered one of the finest in France outside Paris, which has an impressive collection of art from the Middle Ages through to the late 19th Century including works by Titian, De Latour, Delacroix, Monet, Manet, and Sisley.

When you have finished touring this impressive building we head towards Rue de la Verriere, a stunning Mediaeval cobbled street lined with overhanging half-timbered houses.

Lunch in one of the pretty brasseries located in the city center and sample local delicacies such as coq au vin or Boeuf Bourguignon, all served with the obligatory Dijon mustard.

In the afternoon we head to Notre Dame, a 13th Century Gothic masterpiece in the city center famed for the unusual Western facade which consists of 3 superimposed rows of arches, decorated with over (albeit fake) 50 gargoyles as well as the impressive automated clock that was shipped over from Belgium in the late 1780s, how the automation changed over the years and now depicts 4 figures rather than the single man on the original automation.

In the evening have ‘aperos’ (this is what the French call pre-dinner drinks) and learn the story about how Kir originated here.

Day 8: Burgundy - Beaune

Wine tour in the Village of Meursault, Burgundy.

No visit to Burgundy would be complete without tasting the wine this region is so famous for.

Today we start with a drive to Meursault, mainly renowned for its white wines but it also produces reds. The grape variety for whites is Chardonnay, while the reds are produced from Pinot Noir. This tiny appellation is a 2 KM square and produces undoubtedly some of the world’s best wine.

We start the day with a private tasting and a tour of the chateau where this wine is named after. This is unusual for the region, unlike in Bordeaux, there are much fewer wine châteaux. Our visit today includes a private tour of the castle and grounds with the head sommelier who will teach us why this tiny region of France is home to such a vast array of special wines.

Your tastings will include wines featured at 3* Michelin restaurants and your sommelier can arrange a shipment of bottles so that you can savor the delicious Meursault when you get home.

In the afternoon we head to Beaune and visit a local winery based in the town. Your tour will include at least 6 tastings of local award-winning Burgundy wines.

Day 9: Lyon

Guided tour in Lyon Town Square in France.

Lyon is France’s 3rd city and has been an important city across the ages from Roman times through to today. During World War II Lyon was the command center for the South of France as well as home to the Gestapo. Ironically Lyon was also a stronghold for the Resistance during this period with many of the freedom fighters using the city’s secret underground tunnels to move about.

Spend the afternoon in the Vieux Ville and explore the magnificent cathedral that has both Romanesque and Gothic architecture. The cathedral of Saint Jean took almost 300 years to complete and is famous for its amazing lamb rose stained glass windows created in the 12th Century. Enter through the huge oak doors and marvel at the incredible 16th Century astrological clock which features the automation of animals and people.

Your guide will take you on a private tour of this wonderful building before visiting the archaeological gardens adjacent that contains remnants of a 4th-century church that was originally built on this site.

Finish the day in one of the bustling bars in the piazza and watch the world go round.

Day 10: Lyon

Wine Estate near Lyon, Cotes du Rhone, France on 1 week tour itinerary

We spend today exploring Lyon and its gastronomic heritage. Since 1935 Lyon has been recognized as the gastronomic capital of the world and today it has over 4000 restaurants, of which 20 have one or more Michelin stars.

Your tour starts with a private tour of Les Halles des Lyon, a covered market with over 50 artisan farmers and producers. Learn why Lyon is a culinary capital and sample local delicacies paired with wines from the region.

In the afternoon visit, one of the local award-winning wine farms and have a private tour of the estate. Learn from your specialist guide about the wines from the region and what makes this area so perfect for wine growing and enjoy private classes about pairing wine and tasting exquisite vintage wine paired with local cheeses and charcuterie.

In the evening have dinner at one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants and taste the finest Lyon has to offer.

Day 11: Lyon - Geneva - Lyon

Visit Geneva on your 21 day tour of France.

Relax in the back of your luxury car and drive east towards the beautiful city of Geneva, which is built on the south of the incredible Lac Leman (Lake Geneva)  and surrounded by the Jura Mountains and  Alps.

It is the largest city in the French-speaking part of Switzerland and was the center of the Reformation in the 16th Century led by Jean Cauvin (John Calvin) and was known as the ‘ Protestant Rome.’It was not until the end of the Napoleonic wars that Geneva was made part of Switzerland and since then this city has flourished and is now a global financial banking hub as well as the global center for international diplomacy, with the UN having its headquarters here.

As if these were not enough reasons to visit, Geneva is also globally famed for precision watchmaking as well as being the home of fine chocolate (although my Belgian and French colleagues would beg to differ here!).

Our tour today will take you through the old town where you can spend time browsing the artisan chocolatiers and admire the beautiful architecture and stop to look down at the town from the Treille Promenade.

This is the world’s longest wooden bench and runs from one end of the promenade to the other – just over 410 feet! Our tour will also take in the famous Jet d’Eau, an iconic landmark in the city with 130 gallons of water being forced into the air to a height of 450 feet and can be seen even when flying over the city at an altitude of 30,000 feet.

In the afternoon we have a tour of an award-winning chocolatier and have a chocolate workshop and learn how to temper chocolate and make a ganache. Your class will also include chocolate tasting and as with everything Gallic, we also have a wine pairing to show what wines work best with each chocolate type.

We end the day with a drive around the city taking in the UN building and the poignant  Broken Chair sculpture – this 40-foot high sculpture was installed to commemorate the Ottawa Treaty.

Day 12: Lyon - Chamonix & Annecy - Lyon

Church of Saint Francis of Sales in Annecy France

Today we head into the alps and to the home of the highest mountain in Europe west of Russia, namely Mont Blanc.

Chamonix is primarily known as a winter ski resort, in fact, the first Olympic Winter games were held here in 1924. Things have changed over the decades and even in summer, Chamonix is a thriving busy town.

We head first to the famous Aiguilles des Midi, one of the world’s highest (and steepest) cable cars which only takes 20 minutes to reach its destination which is 3,842 m high. Step out of the cable car and take in the most spectacular views of the Alps and of course Mont Blanc For those of you more adventurous you can step onto a viewing platform which is essentially a glass box suspended over the mountain face.

Lunch in one of the pretty restaurants in the town square and sample local delicacies such as raclette or tartiflette and try a glass of local Savoi wine.

On the way back to Lyon we stop in Annecy, one of the most beautiful towns in the whole of France nestled on the shores of Lake Annecy surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The old town is picture perfect, cobbled narrow streets and brightly colored houses line the canals of this pretty town. Your guide will then lead you through the old town lined with art galleries, artisanal craft shops, and local delicatessens.

Your evening starts when we arrive back in Lyon and your chauffeur takes you for your elegant private dinner cruise on the Rhone.

Day 13: Provence - Menton

Beachfront and cascading houses of Menton on the French Riveira.

Menton, known as the Pearl of France is located on the border with the Italian riviera and  Monaco, home to the rich (or rather very rich) and famous.

Menton is the starting point for our tour of the area known as Provence and the gateway to the exclusive French Riviera. As with many frontier towns, Menton was only officially made part of France in 1861 when Napoleon bought it from the Grimaldi family, it has also been occupied by both Italy and Germany and was liberated after WWII by Canadian and American troops as part of the First Special Service Force on 8 September 1944.

Menton’s famous climate – it has an impressive 316 days of sunshine every year making it perfect for citrus growing and every February there is a lemon festival – think Mardi Gras with citrus fruits!

At the famous indoor market, We start the day in the old town which is a mix of pastel-colored houses, interspersed with grand villas and refined baroque buildings and narrow cobbled streets and pavements leading to the Basilica Saint Michel Archange, an impressive 17th Century cathedral that had a Baroque makeover on the early 19th Century.

Lunch in one of the harbor restaurants, and make sure to try local specialties such as pichade and tarte au citron de Menton.

After lunch,  we will have a private tour of the Cocteau Museum, which features over 1000 of his works. Cocteau was made an honorary citizen of Menton and worked with the then mayor to design the museum which he worked on until his death in 1966.

In the evening dine at one of the elegant fine dining spots by the seafront.

Day 14: Monaco

Entrance of the Prince's Palace (Palais du Prince) in Monaco.

Our next stop is the glamourous principality of Monaco, the world’s 2nd smallest country, only the Vatican is smaller.

When people think of Monaco it is usually Monte Carlo, the casino, and expensive mega yachts. In fact, there is so much more to see in Monaco.

Today we head off to the Palais du Prince for a private tour of the Prince’s castle (NB the tour is not available if the Prince is in residence). The Palace overlooks Monaco below and has stunning views across the Mediterranean. It was originally constructed as a Genoese fortress but is now home to the Prince and his family. Your private tour will include a look at the Throne room, the private chapel, and the famous Blue room, known for its opulent gold and blue decor.

Following your tour of the Palace, we will then visit the famous Princess Grace Rose gardens, created by Prince Rainier III to honor the memory of his wife, Princess Grace.

This amazing rose garden has over 300 varieties of roses and a total of over 8,000 rose bushes adorn this English Style garden dedicated to the late Grace Kelly.

Next, we head over to the Musee Oceanographique, situated nearly 100 meters above sea level. This giant structure took over 11 years to build the foundations to ensure the building would be secure. Opened in 1910, it is one of the world’s oldest aquariums and it now comprises a Mediterranean aquarium, a Tropical aquarium, and a shark lagoon and has over 6000 marine life creatures and over 100 different pools.

We end the day in Monte Carlo and a trip to probably the most famous casino in the world., Inside admire the enormous crystal chandeliers, the original priceless artworks that adorn the walls, and the majestic Onyx columns that welcome you to the gaming rooms. Said to be the inspiration behind the James Bond film Casino Royale, maybe try your luck at one of the tables or just people-watch at this most iconic casino.

Day 15: Nice

Nice, France, Tours

Nice was originally named after the Greek Goddess Nike and so was possibly the original Nike Town! Nice was an Italian city until relatively recently (1860) when the Italians gave the City to France as recognition of French support in helping the Italians against the Austrians. The strong Italian influence can be seen throughout the city and many of the locals speak both French and Italian.

It is not just French and Italian influences that can be seen in this city. At noon every day, a cannon is fired across the city. This tradition was in fact started by an Englishman in 1860.

Sir Thomas used to get very frustrated that his wife could not serve the midday meal at noon and so he requested the mayor that a cannon be fired every day at noon and he would cover this cost. When Sir Thomas moved back to the UK the locals, having been so used to managing their time with the aid of the midday cannon that they petitioned for the cannon shot to continue at noon. To this day a cannon is fired every day at noon in Nice!

We start the tour in the old town, which is a myriad of winding narrow streets leading to gilded shaded squares with little bistros and cafes.

Your private tour will also include a visit to the magnificent Opera house and the Town Hall and Rosetti Square, home to Nice Cathedral. The Cathedral is unlike many French Cathedrals rather modest from the outside, but once inside admire the lavish Baroque designs, gilded ornate chapels, sculptures, and paintings, all with a distinctly Italian feel.

Stop for lunch in the famous flower and produce market which is also in the old town.

The afternoon begins with a private tour of the Musee Marc Chagall. Chagall’s influence was not just limited to the paintings and exhibitions in this building, he also decided how the building should be constructed based on where he wanted his works to be displayed. Amongst the 17 works from Chagall the exhibition also houses the famous Resistance, Resurrection, Liberation triptych, painted before, during, and after the Second World War. End the day with a walk along the famous Promenade des Anglais – so named after the high society English tourists that visited Nice, including Queen Victoria and Winston Churchill.

Day 16: Cannes

Luxury tour in Cannes

Known as the Beverly Hills of the Riviera, Cannes is an elegant coastal city located just west of Nice. The stunning beachside city became popular in the early 19th Century when Lord Brougham, an important British statesman who was also Lord Chancellor  discovered the city and really helped make it a resort for the upper classes of British society- there is a huge bronze statue in his memory right in the city center to celebrate the importance of this man(he also was instrumental in banning slavery in the UK)

Today it is like many other cities along the Med and is home to the rich and famous and not just whilst the festival is on. We start your tour of Cannes with a visit to Le Suquet, the original Roman hillside settlement of Cannes which is filled with pastel-colored houses and cottages and narrow cobbled streets, and stop for refreshments in one of the many hillside cafes that overlook the Bay of Cannes.

Next, we head to the indoor market, Marche Forville filled with local farmers and artisan food manufacturers. Sample some local organic olives or freshly caught oysters, and for those of you with a sweet tooth, sample handmade elegant chocolate creations or sample locally made macaroons.

Enjoy Lunch in one of the traditional brasseries outside the market.

In the afternoon head to the Grand Auditorium for a private tour, your driver guide will even take a photograph of you on the famous red-carpeted steps outside the building. Later stroll along the iconic  La Promenade de Croisette, this famous beachside road is lined with the world’s most famous luxury brands and 5 and 6-star luxury hotels with Michelin * restaurants. This promenade runs the whole length of the seafront an incredible 1.6 Km.

This evening dine with the rich and famous at one of the many fine dining restaurants.

Day 17: Grasse

Aerial view of the city of Grasse on the French Riviera

The perfume capital of the world is widely recognized to be Grasse, a beautiful town nestled in the hills above Cannes. Over 2/3 of France’s perfume is manufactured here in Grasse.

We start with a perfume workshop where you will be taught the basics of perfume making by a ‘nez’ as well as create your own perfume. We then visit the incredible Musée International de la Parfumerie which charts the development of the industry and its importance in the French industry and has a stunning selection of antique crystal perfume bottles.

Our next stop is to the 12th Century cathedral which is in the old town. Although from the outside the building seems quite plain once inside the opulence is quite incredible and includes 3 paintings from Rubens, the famous Belgian artist.

Lunch in one of the many pretty bistros – most of the squares in the town has an abundance of great bars and restaurants.

In the afternoon we visit one of the local award-winning olive oil farms and have a private tour of the estate and learn why the climate in Grasse is perfect for producing great olive oil. Your tour will also include tastings of local bread and charcuterie.

Day 18: Toulon

Cable Car Ride Mont Faron, Marseilles

We start the day with a cable car ride up to the top of Mont Faron, a 584 M mountain overlooking the city and port of Toulon. From the summit the views are spectacular and on a clear day, you can just see Corsica in the distance. Your tour continues with a private tour of the Musee du Debarquement, a museum that commemorates the allied invasion of Provence in 1944.

In the afternoon explore the wonderful port, home to a large French Naval base as well as local fishermen and sailors. Lunch in one of the many fashionable restaurants along the harbor.

Provence is the oldest wine-making region in France and specializes in making rose wine and consensus amongst wine lovers is that the best rose in the world is from Provence.

This evening you will have a  private tour of a local award-winning wine estate where you can learn about how this delicious wine is produced as well as taste various different vintages.

Day 19: Marseilles

Marseille mountain on tour of marseille.

Marseilles’ position as a key strategic port goes back to 600 BC when the Greeks first created the port and are steeped in history – even the French National anthem: le Marseilles is based on Marseilles.

Our tour starts at the Basilica Notre – Dame de la Garde which was built by King Francois I to protect the city and is the highest building in Marseilles standing at an impressive 490 feet above sea level. On top of the Basilica is a statue of the Virgin Mary which is said to protect the city and its inhabitants. for those of you less mobile there is a train from the Vieux port that goes directly to this amazing Byzantine monument – from there admire the view across the city and across the Mediterranean.

From there it is a short walk to the Vieux port – the real heart of Marseilles. This is where locals and tourists mix – sample some delicious Bouillabaisse (a local specialty) with freshly caught seafood at one of the many fish restaurants dotted about the port.

In the afternoon we have a private tour of the Mucem (Museum of Civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean) which is Marseilles’s newest museum and was opened in 2013 to commemorate Marseilles being recognized as a European City of Culture.

The museum itself is a contemporary design that is in stark contrast to the historical buildings in the rest of Marseilles and is built on the site of the original Fort of St Jean. There are close to a million exhibits on display that show how civilizations in the Mediterranean and North Africa have developed over the past centuries.

Day 20: Marseilles - Aix-en-Provence

View of Cathedrale Saint Sauveur d'Aix facade from the outside

Today we visit the beautiful and very chic town of Aix-en-Provence, known locally as the 21st arrondissement due to its magnificent architecture, wide leafy boulevards, and fashionable artisan shops and art galleries. Also called the ‘la Ville aux mille Fontaines’ which translated means the city of a thousand fountains. When the fountains were constructed, running water was seen as a sign of wealth and so this was an open sign of prosperity in the city.

We start at the Musee Granet, a real museum found outside of Paris. With over 12,00 artworks including a neoclassical sculpture collection, a pop art expo, and of course pieces from possibly the most famous artist who lived here, Paul Cezanne. For those lovers of Cezanne, we can also take a tour of his actual workshop where he created the vast majority of his art, largely untouched over the years; it provides an intimate look into how Cezanne worked.

Next, we head off to le Cours Mirabeau, a charming boulevard lined with tall Plane trees and the perfect spot for lunch in one of the many cafes and restaurants. After lunch, have a stroll around the local market.

We end our day in Aix-en-Provence with a private tour of the Cathedrale Saint Sauveur d’Aix-en-Provence, an imposing building that began construction in the 12th Century.

The cathedral has been subject to many alterations and modifications to its construction and the building were only completed in the 19th Century. The architectural style is a combination of Baroque, Gothic, and Romanesque. The imposing walnut doors mark the main entrance, and each side of the doors is flanked by 3 beautiful carved apostles – sculptures of the additional apostles are located inside along with many sculptures and paintings that have been curated over the centuries.

  • RestaurantWeekLV.org , the official website of Las Vegas Restaurant Week, allows diners to view a complete list of participating restaurants and special promotions.
  • Las Vegas Restaurant Week takes place Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 14 , with an estimated 230 participating restaurants.
  • Restaurant participants across the valley are offering a variety of globally inspired flavors, including Italian, Chinese, Mediterranean, Brazilian, Mexican and more. Each restaurant will offer assorted prix fixe menus – for breakfast, brunch, lunch and/or dinner – at price points ranging from $20 to $120 with $4, $5 or $6 from each cover donated to Three Square and the one in seven Southern Nevadans who are food insecure.
  • Special promotions will also be offered by more than 15 participating food service businesses during the 12-day event. The diverse range of participants include local bars and breweries, coffee shops and more, each offering promotions with a fixed portion of proceeds donated to Three Square.
  • Diners are encouraged to share their experiences on social media, connecting with Three Square on X , Instagram and Facebook , in addition to ‘Liking’ Las Vegas Restaurant Week and using the hashtag #LVRW.

Last year, funds donated during Las Vegas Restaurant Week provided more than 664,347 meals to hundreds of thousands of valley residents struggling with hunger. Since 2007, more than 6 million meals have been provided for those in need through the event.

Billie Eilish Calls 3-Hour-Long Concerts ‘Psychotic’: ‘Nobody Wants That’

Billie Eilish Calls 3-Hour-Long Concerts Psychotic Nobody Wants That

Don’t expect an Eras Tour -like concert from Billie Eilish any time in the near future.

The “ Lunch ” singer laid into the idea of ultra-long concerts during a fan chat on the Stationhead app on Thursday, May 23. Eilish, 22, called concerts that push well north of feature-length “psychotic.”

“I’m not doing a three-hour show,” she said. “Nobody wants that. You guys don’t want that. I don’t want that. I don’t even want that as a fan. My favorite artist in the world, I’m not trying to hear them for three hours.”

The crack about ultra-long concerts was interpreted by Taylor Swift ’s most rabid fans as a shot at Eilish’s pop peer. Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour pushes far past the three-hour mark while covering the entire scope of her nearly two-decade-long discography. The clip spread after being posted to X by a Swift fan account, with many users noting that the demand for the Eras Tour clearly shows that some people want a long show.

Representatives for Eilish declined to comment when reached by Us Weekly .

It’s not the first time that an errant remark by Eilish has been interpreted uncharitably by Swifties. The environmentally conscious artist slammed the practice of “the biggest artists in the world” releasing a raft of slightly tweaked vinyl albums as “wasteful” in an interview with Billboard in March. Eilish has long positioned herself as an advocate for sustainability in the music industry but Swift fans felt the reference to “the biggest artists” was a targeted dig. The furor over the perceived slight of Swift grew so loud that Eilish felt compelled to respond.

“Okay so it would be so awesome if people would stop putting words into my mouth and actually read what I said in that billboard article,” she wrote via Instagram Stories in April. “I wasn’t singling anyone out, these are industry-wide systemic issues.”

Eilish and Swift have been supportive of each other throughout their careers. Swift presented Eilish with Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award in 2019. Eilish praised both Swift and Beyonce for their ability to play stadiums for many hours in an interview with the Los Angeles Times last October.

“Beyoncé and Taylor [Swift] are untouchable superstars; the fact that they can put on a show that long, and it’s filled with so many incredible moments, is really amazing,” she said, adding that she finds it “really hard to play stadiums.”

3 Day Itinerary in New York City - A Foodie's Tour

A 3-day itinerary of the best things to do if you're a foodie and visiting New York City. From the popular food halls in the city to the best Michelin-starred restaurants to the hidden bars of the city. Follow us step-by-step as you plan your trip to eat through the Big Apple.

1. Chinatown and Lunch at Joe's Steam Rice Rolls | 11 a.m.

261 Canal St, New York, NY 10013

The first stop on our trip brings us to Chinatown, which is filled with diverse foods from all across Asia. Joe's Steam Rice Roll is right on the main Canal St. which runs across Chinatown and serves the Cantonese classic. The rice rolls are thin, silky, and luxurious, and the signature has ample filling of beef, pork, and eggs. The price is also quite cheap and easy on the budget.

2. Kakigori at The Little One | 12 p.m.

150 E Broadway, New York, NY 10002

Walking over to the East side of Chinatown is a small cute shop that specializes in kakigori, or Japanese shaved ice. The interior has a soft woodgrain theme that gives it a zen sensibility. The kakigori was very light and soft, which is a sign of one done well, without being too sweet and comes in many flavors including the more classic matcha and hojicha to more seasonal flavors.

3. Jiggly Cheesecake at Kiki Modern Cakes | 1 p.m.

79 Mott St, New York, NY 10013

There's always room for one more dessert. Walking back to the West side of Chinatown, we stop by Keki Modern Cakes, whose specialty is its Japanese cheesecake. Videos of this type of "jiggly" cheesecake have gone viral, and we were glad that the taste lives up to the fad as it was light and fluffy. The store also had a number of other items including cheese tarts and castella cakes.

4. Shopping at Soho | 2 p.m.

The whole day can't be spent eating, although we wish it could! Walk up Broadway St. to Soho and be brought into a shopper's paradise. The main street contains many of the large major brands like Nike, Zara, and Madewell. Walk around the side cobblestoned streets and discover the world of fashion, from high end luxury brands like Dior and Chanel to street fashion such as Off-White and Palace.

5. Chocolate Break at MarieBelle | 4 p.m.

484 Broome St, New York, NY 10013

Take a break from shopping to sit down for some coffee or for their afternoon tea. Specializing in chocolate, the store has a room called the Cacao Bar in the back that transports you to the European cafes of Vienna and Budapest with its antique and glistening lights. Sit and enjoy one of their variety of hot chocolates or a number of other quick bites and desserts. Their gift boxes also make great souvenirs from a New York boutique chocolatier.

6. Explore Chelsea Market | 5 p.m.

75 9th Ave, New York, NY 10011

Take the A,C,E train or a cab north along the Hudson River on the west side of town to get to the culinary iconic destination in New York City. An indoor marketplace, Chelsea Market is home to a variety of shops and restaurants to fulfill all your food needs. From butchers and fresh seafood, to sit down restaurants such as Sarabeth's and Buddakan, to the numerous food stands like Num Pang's Southeast Asian sandwichs and Doughnuttery's donuts, there is something for every food lover.

7. Michelin Starred Meal at the Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare | 7 p.m.

431 W 37th St, New York, NY 10018

Taking the A train one stop uptown, we arrive for dinner at perhaps the ultimate foodie's restaurant. Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare is 3-Michelin starred restaurant that is also probably the only one that is at the back of a grocery store. Taking this casual sensibility, we see it translated into the innovative dishes prepared by Chef Ramirez that break from tradition and redefine how we taste food. Although certainly pricey at close to $400 per person, it is certainly worth a once-in-a-lifetime meal.

8. Winding Down at The NoMad Bar | 10 p.m.

10 W 28th St, The NoMad Hotel

Taking a quick cab across town, we arrive at the NoMad Bar, which is located at the NoMad Hotel. The bar, which is consistently ranked in the World's Top 50 Bars, offers a sophisticated classic atmosphere with dark oak furnishings that still feel modern with its elevated 2-story open space and illuminated wall of bottles. The drinks also live up to the decor, with mixologists crafting cocktails which both look and taste great. The bar is a great place to wind down after a busy first day in the city.

9. Off to Flushing for Authentic Asian Food | 11 a.m.

136-20 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11354

Day 2 brings us to Flushing, Queens, which is around a 45 minute ride on the 7 train from Times Square or Grand Central. Yes, it's really far out, but it's also really worth it in order to taste the most authentic Asian cuisine. Emerging out of the last stop on the 7 train, you're transported into the middle of the Flushing Chinatown. Right by the corner is the New World Mall, whose basement is a food court with shops specializing in cuisines such as hand-pulled noodles and dumplings. There are also a lot of stalls focusing on Sichuan cuisine if you can handle the ma-la (numbing and spicy) taste.

10. Xiao Long Bao, Dumplings, & Boba Tea | 1 p.m.

We can't go all the way to Flushing to only eat at one stop. We mapped out a couple places that we had wanted to try out, including Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao ( Yelp ), which is supposedly the best XLB in New York City. The skins on the dumpling were thin, and the inside had lots of juice - all marks of a XLB done right. The trip to Flushing also takes us to White Bear ( Yelp ), a non-descript shop known for its chili oil won tons. It packs great flavors without being too spicy and is the perfect snack. The last stop takes us to Xing Fu Tang ( Yelp ), an import from Taiwan specializing in brown sugar boba that is caramelized at the top. The boba is chewy with the right amount of bounce, with the milk not being overly sweet. Take one with you to go on the way back to Manhattan.

11. Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies at Levain Bakery | 3 p.m.

1484 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10028

Taking the 7 train back to Grand Central, we then switched over to the green line uptown to the Upper Eat Side. Close to the 86th stop is one of the most famous bakeries in NYC. Famed for its huge chocolate cookies, they are crunchy on the outside while being soft in the middle with chocolate oozing out. A perfect pick-me-up snack after the long subway ride.

12. Admiring the Art at the MET | 3 p.m.

1000 5th Ave, New York, NY 10028

Only a few blocks away is one of the greatest museums in possibly the world, the MET Museum. One could literally spend the entire day here and still not fully explore the whole museum. There are art pieces ranging from the Greek and Egyptian to European and Asian art to Modern paintings. No matter what your interest, there is something for everyone.

13. Omakase at Sushi Noz | 6 p.m.

181 E 78th St, New York, NY 10075

Staying on the Upper Eat Side, we had reservations at Sushi Noz, which is one of the most popular sushi places currently in the city. Book for the counter for a more extensive menu and experience, with the omakase consisting of several small dishes and a large selection of nigiri. While very expensive at over $300 per person, you can taste the freshness in the fish and the art and mastery that is in crafting each piece by the sushi chefs.

13. The Truely Hidden Gem of Attaboy | 10 p.m.

134 Eldridge St, New York, NY 10002

A visit to New York is never complete without visiting a speakeasy. This time, we headed south to Lower East Side to another one of the Top 50 bars in the World. Behind a door simply marked "AB", you have to wait until you are brought inside. Once inside, you tell the bartender what flavor profile you like and they will create something specifically for your taste. The drinks as well as the vibe are both top notch.

14. Outdoor Fun at Smorgasburg | 11 a.m.

90 Kent Ave East River State Park, Brooklyn, NY 11211

Cross over to the hip district of Williamsburg in Brooklyn by train or better yet by the ferry. Smorgasburg is a large open-air food market that is open on Saturdays and has a huge variety of vendors from lobster rolls to ramen burgers to ice cream. The selection is endless and there will be something for everyone's taste. The view is also unparalleled, as it sits right by the East River and you can look across to get a perfect view of the Manhattan skyline.

15. Financial District - Eataly & Le District | 1 p.m.

Come back to Manhattan and this time to the Financial District. Visit the World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial, as well as the new Oculus which has a number of retail shops. While down here, don't forget to visit Eataly ( Yelp ), a multi-level center dedicated to Italian food. With outlets around the world, it has both dry good and products to take home as well as restaurants and food to enjoy there. If you feel like you've been to Eataly too many times, cross the West Side Highway to go to Brookfield Place. A large shopping mall with stores like Gucci and lululemon, it also has a food hall on the second floor with large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson River. The bottom floor also has Le District ( Yelp ), which is the French equivalent of Eataly. While a lot smaller, it offers unique foods and products imported from France.

16. Pre-Dinner Drinks at The Dead Rabbit | 5 p.m.

30 Water St, New York, NY 10004

Perhaps the best bar in the city for true connoisseurs. The bottom floor is a casual stand-up counter, while the actual sit-down bar is on the 2nd floor featuring a hefty menu of unique and innovative cocktails. While small and often crowded, the bar is one-of-a-kind and serves drinks that are thoughtfully crafted and must be tried at least once.

17. Atomix | 7 p.m.

104 E 30th St, New York, NY 10016

Take the green line up to the Herald Square area near K-Town. While K-Town is more known for its 24 hour barbecue restaurants and karaoke spots, Atomix stands out as a refined upscale and modern take on Korean cuisine. The recent recipient of 2 Michelin stars, it is well deserved as it takes Korean ingredients and techniques and pushes the boundaries on creativity. The food is meticulously detailed and is executed flawlessly to taste as good as it looks.

18. ChikaLicious | 9 p.m.

203 E 10th St, New York, NY 10003

A quick cab or train ride on the green line brings us to the East Village and to end the night on a sweet note. ChikaLicious is run by a husband and wife team that serves a dessert tasting menu, complete with amuse bouche, an entree, and mignardises. With their signature Fromage Blanc Island Cheesecake that melts in the mouth, it is truly a unique experience and a beautiful way to end a foodie's tour of New York City.
