Honda are punching their tickets into the vibrant roster of playable characters. And finally, get your hands on Street Fighter 6 with the Closed Beta. Learn more about these stadium-sized announcements below!

Your Avatar. Your World Tour.

world tour e honda

When we first revealed World Tour back in June, we said it would be an immersive single-player story mode that would push the boundaries of what a fighting game is. And here we are!

Your first destination will be Buckler Security, located in Metro City. This company trains new recruits in security detail. Here, Luke will act as your coach as you sign up for the basic training course, and this is where your story begins.

World Tour offers the most robust Avatar Creation feature that stretch the limit of what a character creation tool can do. There are tons of customization options to reflect your personal style and flair.

The avatar creation menu contains several pages of options you can tweak. Choose your avatar’s body type with Height & Proportions, Upper Body, Lower Body, Muscle Definition, Skin Color, and Body Hair. In the Muscle Definition category, you can freely select what your avatar’s body will look like from Shredded, to Built, to Soft, and anywhere in between.

Then go into even more detail with categories like Hair, Eye Shape, Iris, Eyebrows, Nose, Mouth, Ears, Facial Hair, and more! Each of these categories then contains a multitude of sliders that can change your avatar with the finest detail – we’re talking cheek depth, jaw length, and even creating an ombre effect with your avatar’s hair!

You can also change your avatar’s Gear so they always have the latest drip as they’re roaming the world. Visit shops to buy Gear for your wardrobe so you can strut the latest fashion trends or stick to your own style. You can check and change which styles you’re using and what Gear you have equipped via the Gear section of the Status menu. Categories include Head Gear, Upper Body Gear, Lower Body Gear, Foot Gear, and Gear Sets. But gear isn’t just for looks. Different gear affects your strength and stats, so be on the lookout for which ones work best.

Luke (call him “Coach”) will be your World Tour guide as you begin your adventures in Metro City. As you progress through the story, you’ll meet Masters who will take you under their wing and teach you their style and attacks. As your bond with them grows stronger, you can also learn Master Actions from their repertoire like a Shoryuken from Ryu and a Spinning Bird Kick from Chun-Li. Use them to open a battle and you’ll kick things off with an advantage or some of them can even be used to destroy wooden boxes and barrels, or leap to faraway platforms. Master Actions, while convenient, do consume Drive Gauge, so always keep an eye on how much you have left in the tank.

During your travels, you’ll face a number of trials and challenges. You’ll come across opportunities to prove yourself in street fights. As you grow stronger, you’ll face even stronger opponents.

In Metro City, long-time fans will find familiar locations like names from the Street Fighter universe as the city’s signature landmarks. Make sure to explore around every corner. You never know what surprises lie in wait for you!

We’ll have even more information on World Tour in the future, including what else you can do to immerse yourself in this new foundational mode in Street Fighter 6.

Everyone’s Battle Hub

world tour e honda

Take your avatar from World Tour into the Battle Hub, another core mode in Street Fighter 6, where you can gather with other players to communicate through various means. Fighting Ground online features are also accessible in the Battle Hub.

One Battle Hub can host up to 100 players at the same time! Players can use emotes or chat to communicate with each other. Of course, make sure you check the Hub Good Shop to show off your fashion when you’re out on the floor!

There are a host of Arcade Cabinets that you will find in the Battle Hub. Take part in arcade-like Battle Hub matches on cabinets that are placed back-to-back. A match will begin when two players sit on both sides. Having audiences change everything…and turns a mere fight into a thrilling spectacle. Spectate a Battle Hub Match, and bear witness to glory.

Head over to Game Center cabinets to play various Capcom classic arcade games like Street Fighter II and Final Fight where you can also show off your skills to compete with others for a high score!

Don’t forget to check out various events that are ongoing or scheduled at the Event Counter. Tournaments also held periodically in the Battle Hub. This would be a great time to turn on the commentary feature and get the feel of a real tournament!

Jam out at the DJ Booth in the Battle Hub by picking your favorite tunes and setting the dance floor aflame!

Well. that’s everyone’s Battle Hub! You may be able to have some quality time in here soon…?

Four legendary characters join fighting ground!

world tour e honda

We know the community has been waiting for this one (yes, we’ve seen the memes). Ken Masters is a former US National Fighting Champion and ex-VP of the Masters Foundation. Accusations of orchestrating a criminal plot have forced Ken to abandon his family and business to go into hiding.

As a legend in the Street Fighter series, Ken’s core move set remains similar to his previous iterations. Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku? Check, check, and check. His Dragonlash Kick and Sprint from Street Fighter V are also now special moves rather than V-Skills. New to Ken is the Jinrai Kick, a forward-moving roundhouse kick that can be followed up with three different options to reflect Ken’s quest to clear his name.

world tour e honda

A kindhearted defender of nature, Blanka has become an adventure tour guide, confident his intimate knowledge of the jungle will serve as a springboard to fame—and a comfortable life for his beloved mother. You can visit Blanka’s tour in his Ranger’s Hut stage by the river where village life is set on a lush green backdrop.

Blanka wouldn’t be the wholesome beast he is without his usual Electric Thunder and various Rolling Attacks. But his time trying to sell Blanka-chan dolls in Street Fighter V has altered his move set due to the surplus of the adorable plushies. He can now use Blanka-chan Bomb to toss a doll to the ground. When Blanka touches it with an electrical special move, the cute little thing will run towards the opponent in a mad rage and explode.

world tour e honda

Dhalsim is a monk and yoga master who has served as a guide for countless suffering souls. He prefers to avoid conflict when possible, but his innate hatred of evil compels him to dispense stern justice. The elephants return in the Dhalsimer Temple stage where monks study yoga amongst the candles in a peaceful setting.

Dhalsim channels his familiar fire techniques from past games, but has also mastered alternate ways to release the flames to cover all angles. His Yoga Fire travels horizontally again, Yoga Arch fires the ball of flame in a similar arc trajectory like in Street Fighter V, and Yoga Comet is fired at a downward angle when Dhalsim is in the air. Yoga Flame is back as Dhalsim blows a large ball of flames in front of him while Yoga Blast blows at an upwards angle as a good anti-air counter. Additionally, Dhalsim can still teleport and float his worries away.

A sumo wrestler looking to bring the sport to a worldwide audience, E. Honda has the skills of a Yokozuna, but his constant globetrotting has prevented his promotion to the rank. He’s also an expert chef renowned for his mouthwatering chanko stew.

Much like the previous three World Warriors, E. Honda fans will feel right at home with his move set. His trademark Hundred Hand Slap, Sumo Headbutt, Sumo Smash, and Oicho Throw return. His two V-Skills from Street Fighter V, Neko Damashi and Sumo Spirit, are now special moves. E. Honda’s new move is Sumo Dash, where he moves forward with a traditional sumo shuffle and can be followed up with more pressure or a launcher.

Turn the volume up to Extreme

world tour e honda

Shown in our trailer revealed at Tokyo Game Show, Extreme Battle is a new addition to Fighting Ground which adds fun and unexpected parameters to your matches. Each Extreme Battle contains a Rule and a Gimmick. A Rule is the conditions that must be met to win the match. For example, you can set the Rule to “First to get five knockdowns wins!” A Gimmick on the other hand, adds an extra layer of delight. Examples are a stampeding bull that runs through the level and deals damage, a Met from Mega Man that can shock you, and more wacky surprises to amp up the excitement and challenge in Street Fighter 6. This is a mode for those who want something different from the usual fights. If you want to survive in the world of extreme battling, luck is every bit as important as technique!

The closed beta test you’ve been waiting for

It’s true! We will have a Closed Beta Test (CBT) for Street Fighter 6 from October 7-10 on PlayStation 5. The best part is that it’s cross-play enabled, just like the full game when it launches in 2023! (Note: Times may vary across regions)

During the CBT, players can face off against each other and have access to the Battle Hub to experience features including Ranked Match, Casual Match, Battle Hub Match, Open Tournament, Extreme Battle, Game Center, and Training Mode.

You’ll be able to play eight characters during the CBT: Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, Jamie, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, and Ken. Since each of them have unique and distinct playstyles, we know you’ll be able to find a character to gel with. Keep your mind open though since we still have more characters to show you with equal amounts of personality.

Please head to the official website for more information on how to sign up.

Two more commentators add their style

Finally, two more commentators were added to the Real Time Commentary feature: Kosuke Hiraiwa and H.E.Demon Kakka. Kosuke Hiraiwa is a well-known esports caster who lends his expertise and professionalism to Street Fighter 6. H.E.Demon Kakka is the lead singer of Japanese heavy metal band Seikima-II. While they will commentate your matches in Japanese, there will be accompanying English subtitles on the screen if they are selected.

And those are our announcements from Tokyo Game Show 2022! There’s still lots to come before Street Fighter 6 launches in 2023, but in the meantime, we’ll see you in the Closed Beta Test.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and Mass Effect 4's Romance Options Could Have a Symbiotic Relationship

Persona 6 placeholder logo leaks, street fighter 6: 8 possible season 2 characters, quick links, where to find every world tour master in street fighter 6, 'missable' masters in street fighter 6, dlc masters in street fighter 6, how to change master assist in world tour mode.

Street Fighter 6 introduces several new game types, one of which is called World Tour mode. This effectively serves as a sort of Street Fighter RPG, with players able to create their own avatar and then use it to take on some of the toughest street fighters from all over the world. As they do so, they'll run into quite a few familiar faces, with the main cast of Street Fighter serving as masters from whom the playable character can learn and grow.

Street Fighter 6: The Best Master Gifts in World Tour Mode (SF6 Gift Guide)

Figuring out the best gift for every World Tour mode Master will make it much easier for players to reach the maximum bond and unlock Outfit 2.

There are 22 World Tour mode Masters in Street Fighter 6 , though not all of them can be encountered right away. Players will run into most of them as they make their way through the main story, though some can only be encountered through exploration and side quests, so players will need to keep their eyes peeled for any extracurricular opportunities that might come their way. Each master will teach players new moves upon meeting them and will also provide unique missions and costumes over time.

Updated May 22, 2024, by Tom Bowen: It's been almost a full year since the release of Street Fighter 6, during which time, four DLC fighters have been added to the game. Regardless of whether players pay to unlock these new combatants, A.K.I., Rashid, Ed, and Akuma are all available in World Tour Mode, bringing the total number of SF6 masters up to 22 as of the time of writing. The locations of these new Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode masters have been added to the table below, with detailed instructions on where to find them available a little further down the page.

Strictly speaking, none of the masters in Street Fighter 6 are really missable, as players will be able to meet with all of the optional masters at any time after their initial unlock point. That said, it's entirely possible to play through the entirety of the main story without encountering some of them, while others will need to be spoken to multiple times before they will agree to become the player's Master. With this in mind, players might want to refer to the cheat sheet below to get a better idea of when and where they should be looking.

Where to Find Lily in World Tour Mode

From the beginning of Chapter 4, players will be able to trigger a side mission called "The Spirit Guide" by speaking with an NPC called Ana in the Hong Hu Lu Chinatown area of Metro City. This will eventually lead them to the Thunderfoot Settlement in Mexico and an encounter with Lily.

Where to Find Blanka in World Tour Mode

At the beginning of Chapter 6, players will unlock the Ranger's Hut area of Brazil and can go there to meet Blanka. To unlock Blanka as a Master, they'll simply need to speak with him again after the introductory cutscene.

Where to Find Dee Jay in World Tour Mode

At the beginning of Chapter 6, players will unlock the Bathers Beach area of Jamaica and can go there to meet Dee Jay. To become Dee Jay's student, players should speak with him again after the cutscene ends.

Where to Find Cammy in World Tour Mode

From the beginning of Chapter 7, players will be able to trigger a side mission called "Special Unit Del-" by speaking with an NPC called Alfred in the Beat Square Subway area of Metro City. This will eventually lead them back to King’s Street in the United Kingdom and an encounter with Cammy.

Where to Find Manon in World Tour Mode

From about halfway through Chapter 7, players will be able to trigger the "Extra" side mission by speaking with an NPC called Manager Oscar in the Beat Square area of Metro City. This will lead to them visiting Fete Foraine in France and an encounter with Manon.

Where to Find Ryu in World Tour Mode

Not long after the encounter with E. Honda in Chapter 8, players will need to visit the Genbu Temple in Japan. Here, they'll be able to meet Ryu and can speak with him to become his student.

Where to Find Jamie in World Tour Mode

Players will first meet Jamie in the Hong Hu Lu Chinatown area of Metro City at the beginning of Chapter 8. A little later on in the chapter, they'll be able to find him on the rooftop where they met Boluo in Chapter 2 and can speak with him there to become his student.

Where to Find Kimberly in World Tour Mode

Players will first encounter Kimberly as part of the main story in Chapter 8. To unlock Kimberly as a Master, they'll need to speak with her on the roof of the Metro City police station during nighttime hours from Chapter 9 onward. To get up there, they can use the ladder near the Hangout.

Where to Find Zangief in World Tour Mode

To train under Zangief, players will need to complete the "Hither and Thither" side quest, which can be triggered by speaking with the two fighters outside the Mike Haggar Memorial Stadium in Metro City from Chapter 9 onward, though this can only be done at night.

Where to Find Dhalsim in World Tour Mode

Players can meet Dhalsim by completing a side mission called "The Yoga Statue," which can be triggered by speaking with an NPC called Anik in the Bayside Park area of Metro City from Chapter 9 onward.

Where to Find Juri in World Tour Mode

Upon reaching Chapter 12, players will be able to trigger the "A Hardboiled Adventure" side quest by speaking with Govind in the central Bazaar area of Nayshall. They'll meet with Juri as part of this quest.

Where to Find JP in World Tour Mode

After completing the main story of World Tour Mode, players should return to the Suval’hal Arena Entrance in the Mount Vayshal area of Old Nayshall at night. There, they'll find JP hanging around near the stairs opposite the main entrance to the arena and can talk with him to become his student.

Where to Find A.K.I in World Tour Mode

If players head to Metro City during the daytime, they'll find an old woman named Lao Mao standing around near Chun Li. When given an energy drink, she'll direct players to a man named Fang Fei, who can be found hanging around near the stadium (his exact location is marked on the map). After speaking with him, players will then be able to travel to Tian Hong Yuan via the world map screen, and it's there that they'll find A.K.I.

Where to Find Rashid in World Tour Mode

To find Rashid in World Tour Mode, players should make their way to the Old Nayshall Central Bazaar at night. Right by the hangout, they'll find a guy named Azam, who needs help making an educational video. From there, players should fast travel to the Lowlands Commerce Plaza and then travel north to the quest marker, which is where they'll find Rashid. After beating him in a best-of-three fight, players can find Rashid near the train station during the daytime, and must speak with him there to become his student.

Where to Find Ed in World Tour Mode

Those hoping to find Ed in World Tour Mode will need to head to the the Haggar Stadium in Metro City at night and speak with an NPC named C. Raven to trigger the Neo Shadaloo's Leader? side quest. Completing this mission is relatively straightforward, with players simply needing to head down into the nearby subway and beat some Neo Shadaloo members. Next, they'll just need to ride the train and then talk to C. Raven again on the platform. Once the mission is cleared, Ed will appear on the platform near the stairs. Speaking with him will trigger another fight with some Neo Shadaloo members, after which, players will become Ed's student.

Where to Find Akuma in World Tour Mode

If players head to the SiRN building in Metro City during the daytime, they'll be able to trigger the Master of Styles side quest by checking a poster on one of the outer walls. From there, they'll need to speak with an NPC named Steven near the entrance to the building to be transported up to the server room. There, they should head up to the fifth floor and speak with SiRN Staff Liu, who'll ask players to defeat the copy fighters using certain moves. They'll need to use Luke's Flash Knuckle on the left copy fighter, JP's Stribog on the center one, and Manon's Manaege Dore on the one on the right. After doing so, players should speak to the researcher again and then travel to Genbu Temple and talk with Retsu (players will need to have completed the Monk Without a Cause side quest first), which will unlock Enma's Hollow on the world map screen. It's here that players will find Akuma, though they won't be able to become his student right away. Instead, they'll need to return to Retsu to trigger the Murderous Demon side quest, after which, they can make their way back to Enma's Hollow and fight Akuma. Sadly, he'll end the fight prematurely, at which point, players will need to speak with Ryu at Genbu Temple and complete the resulting fight (win or lose, it doesn't matter). They can then fight Akuma again, although just like last time, he'll walk away before the fight is done. To get around this, players should speak with Luke and complete the resulting fight (like the fight with Ryu, it doesn't matter if they win or lose) to get some more advice. Players can then fight Akuma one last time, which will result in them becoming his student.

After raising their bond with a Master to a certain level, players will gain the ability to summon them in certain fights. To do so, they'll need to have at least one bar of their Super Art Gauge full, at which point, they'll be able to call for help by briefly holding down L1 and R1 (PlayStation) or LB and RB). This will cause the Master displayed in the bottom left or bottom-right corner of the screen to turn up and start attacking enemies, with the duration of the Master Assist determined by how many bars of the Super Art Gauge were full at the time that the assist was triggered. The more bars the player had, the longer the assist will be.

A lot of players will probably be wondering how to change the Master Assist in World Tour mode. Sadly, however, there isn't a way to do so at the time of writing. After unlocking the Master Assist option for a specific Master, they'll be added to a pool, with a new Master being chosen from this pool at random each time players use the mechanic. This means that there isn't currently a way for players to choose which Master will be chosen for Master Assist . That said, a new Master is only chosen from the pool when the currently displayed one is used, so players could technically save a Master for a specific fight if they so wished.

Biography [ ]

Concept [ ].

E. Honda was designed by Eri "Erichan" Nakamura [11] and Akira Yasuda . He was initially named "Sumo". As his initial name implies, Honda is meant to have above average strength, but below average speed. The developers intended for the character to be popular in Japan, but to also make Japanese fighting styles appeal to foreigners. [12] Honda's shikona for sumo is mentioned as " Fujinoyama ." [13]

Akiman found Honda's initial design lacking, prompting Erichan to come up with the idea that he wears Kabuki makeup when fighting overseas as a way to hide his identity and to promote his Japanese pride. The makeup Honda wears is inspired by the play Shibaraku. The mawashi was also added on top of the loincloth to help improve the design. Erichan remarks that during the design phase, she had to come up with moves based off purely the name itself, and when given the prompt of " Super Headbutt ", she felt that making Honda fly would be the only way to convey the adjective of "Super". As revealed in Street Fighter 6 , Honda also goes under the name Edmond as an overseas shikona to both appeal to westerners and to reference the Edo period.

Appearance [ ]

Edmond Honda is a very heavy yet very muscular Japanese man, seemingly in his late 30s to early 40s. While not having the same height as T. Hawk , Sagat or Zangief , Honda is quite tall, though he does not appear to be due to his hunched-over fighting stance. He has black hair in a chonmage hairstyle and wears only a white and light blue mawashi with a striking red fundoshi underneath (the later is rarely seen). His face is painted in the kumadori style of red makeup used in kabuki. As a sumo wrestler, he always fights barefoot, though some artwork depicts him wearing a pair of geta (traditional Japanese wooden sandals with two "elevated" clogs). His classic appearance is his "Nostalgia" costume in Street Fighter V and in Street Fighter 6 .

In Street Fighter V , Edmond wears a traditional mawashi worn by sumos in sumo wrestling; the color of his mawashi is sky blue. It's loincloth has a white mountain design along with white clouds at the center with a gold trim at the edge, and he wears single footwraps on his right feet and armwraps on his left arm.

His story costume is semi-casual attire; a white formal suit jacket with a purple and gold designed button-up shirt underneath, white formal pants and black dress shoes.

His battle costume is a traditional outfit worn by ronin; a light blue traditional vest with designs and a dark blue traditional kimono shirt underneath, blue traditional pants and a geta sandals. He also has a katana strapped to his left side.

In Street Fighter 6 , Edmond wears his yukata once again but it is black, teal and yellow stripes, and the folded sleeves are red. He is seen wearing only the left half-sleeve of his yukata. He now wears sarashi shorts as a contrast of wearing a fundoshi and wears zori sandals instead of being barefoot. In his arcade story, he still wears his main outfit while wearing a hard construction hat on his head.

Personality [ ]

E. Honda is an honorable and friendly man who warmly welcomes people he sees as good. Yet quite boastful and ambitious in regard to displaying the strength of sumo (and himself) to the world, and to that end he always gives his all during his training and fighting regimens.

Despite his apparent lack of agility and portrayals in other media as clumsy or silly, Honda is a very powerful sumo grand master. He takes both his sumo art and his " Ōzeki " title very seriously, considering it a sacred martial art just like any other; Honda often throws a handful of salt in front of him before he begins to fight, in reference to a real-life sumo ritual often performed as a means of purification known as "shubatsu".

Due to his dogmatic belief about sumo, Honda would occasionally get angry at anyone who he thinks is suggesting otherwise, such as him misunderstanding that Manon doesn't understand "what makes sumo so great" when she is simply objecting Honda's choice of the location of his restraurant. Just like how Zangief boasts about how his ironclad muscle being the key of victory, Honda makes similar remarks towards some of his opponents, suggesting that they might have a better chance had they learned sumo wrestling.

Having trained as a sumo wrestler the entire life, Honda is generally strict when it comes to discipline and mannerisms, but was mild-mannered in giving advice on proper manners to his guests and would motivate his student to never give up on training. Outside of the ring though, Honda is very friendly towards anyone he see as good and enjoy socializing with others. Having mastered karaoke singing and hot pot cooking with his students and guests because of this. He also enjoys hot steaming baths between training sessions, his favorite spot being Kapukon Yu .

Other than his fighting skill, Honda is also a skilled businessman, evident by him owning several businesses. Such as a bathhouse in Street Fighter V and his "Chanko House Edomon" restraurant in Street Fighter 6 . To maintain and improve his services, Honda would supervise the business himself and make sure that it would be maintained in his high standard.

In World Tour, E. Honda also is revealed to be quite stubborn to criticism, especially towards his sumo techniques. He notably argued against online criticism that said that his sumo techniques were not "real sumo" from various hate comments he received on social media. Honda exclaims that his critics do not understand how his take on sumo is simply a new "standard" that will become integrated into traditional sumo once more people have learned his style.

Character Relationships [ ]

E. Honda and Ryu hold a very close friendship. Both hold a deep respect and understanding towards each other due to both being Japanese fighters. Whenever they fight, both are known to compliment each other's fighting styles; Ryu admitting that he learns more from Honda every time they fight and Honda suggesting that Ryu take up Sumo with him in Street Fighter V. In the 1994 anime movie, Ryu ends up unknowingly helping Honda win a fight against Dhalsim in India and observes him fighting back against the Shadaloo agents. As a show of respect and gratitude, he gives Ryu half of the winnings he made from the match.

Zangief [ ]

Being a fellow master of wrestling, E. Honda and Zangief held mutual respect towards their respective fighting style. While the two would often bluffing each other when it comes to their strength and techniques, they were on a good terms with each other regardless. In some earlier games, Honda and Zangief would often tag with each other to fight against evil, namely Shadaloo in Street Fighter Alpha 3 .

Hakan and E. Honda are very close friends. Though their beliefs in their own respective fighting styles make them more like rivals than friends, they are still on good terms with each other. Hakan is also one of the few people in the series to state E. Honda's first name (in his rival cutscene, he calls him "his old friend, Mr. Honda", as well as "Edmond").

Sodom attempted to recruit Honda for his new Mad Gear by defeating him in a match, but failed and was defeated; however, he earned Honda's respect. In Street Fighter 6 , Sodom became one of Honda's friends and regularly visits his restraurant both for his chanko stew and for a sumo match.

Background [ ]

In his Street Fighter II back story, E. Honda is mentioned to have began his training as a child, single-mindedly focused on becoming the greatest sumo wrestler of all time. He would eventually achieve the highly-revered titled of "Ōzeki" (in the English localization, he was incorrectly stated as having achieved the title Yokozuna, though his recent appearance states that he's generally considered good enough for that title, held back only by some of his rather outlandish techniques).

Street Fighter Alpha 2 [ ]

E. Honda appears here as a cameo - though a significant one - in Sodom 's storyline. Sodom, obsessed with both Japanese culture and trying to revive Mad Gear , attempts to recruit sumo wrestlers, citing them as examples of strong warriors. To achieve this he enters a sumo wrestling competition and faces Fuji-no-miya, who is revealed to be Edmond Honda. Agreeing to join Mad Gear if Sodom wins, Honda fights and defeats Sodom, though he is impressed by his effort nevertheless, according to their dialogue in Alpha 3 .

Street Fighter Alpha 3 [ ]

His storyline in this game serves as a prologue to his appearance in Street Fighter II , with him traveling the world looking for strong opponents and to show the strength of sumo wrestling. Along the way, he meets Ryu and has a sparring match with him, and tells Sakura where she can find him later on. About this time, he fights Sodom again in a friendly match as well. His wanderings lead him to Shadaloo 's base, where he meets Zangief , and the two are worked together to help destroy the base. In the aftermath, he took in a few of Bison 's Dolls to give them somewhere to stay until they could regain their memories, although which Dolls he sheltered is unknown.

Street Fighter II [ ]

E. Honda became upset that the rest of the world did not view sumo wrestling with the reverence held by the Japanese. He entered into the second World Warrior tournament intent on showing everyone that sumo wrestlers rank among the greatest fighters in the world. Beyond this, he yearns also to improve and prove his own strength, as well as to earn the title of Yokozuna.

His involvement with the second tournament is also part of him investigating the Shadaloo organization in response to sumo wrestlers taking biochemical drugs, and learning of their involvement after capturing some of the dealers. His face painting and dual-nationality name assisted him with remaining covert during his investigation. This aspect of his character was conceived well before Street Fighter Alpha 3 and his storyline there.

After the tournament and the fall of Shadaloo, Honda returned to Japan where he continued engaging in sumo wrestling, running his bath house, and training his disciples.

Super Street Fighter IV [ ]

Honda is not back in Japan for long - he soon joins another international fighting tournament. However his goals have not changed much at all, as he is once again fighting to prove the strength of sumo to the world. During the tournament, he meets up with his old comrade Hakan , but loses his match against him. They later agree to meet again in Japan, but Honda warns him not to expect victory. He also encounters El Fuerte , and helps the aspiring chef by telling him about Japanese food.

After the tournament he exclaims "Look out, Olympics, here I come!". However, while on a plane, he comes to the conclusion that in order to get sumo into the Olympics, he will have to join the IOC ( International Olympic Committee ) himself. [14] [15]

Street Fighter V series [ ]

During the events of the game, E. Honda is on a gourmet trip with Hakan and is searching for new disciples. [8] [16]

Having been originally leaked on July 2019, [17] E. Honda, along with Final Fight characters Lucia and Poison , was confirmed as a playable fighter in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition .

In his character story , he attempts to teach some of the guests (specifically Laura , Rashid and Ryu ) in his bathhouse the proper manners after taking a bath. As many female guests visit his bathhouse (particularly, Menat , Juri , R. Mika and Ibuki ), Honda decides to make it into an ideal business.

Other story appearances [ ]

In Alex 's character story, holograms of E. Honda and Hakan appear as opponents that attack together.

E. Honda also appears in Ibuki 's character story when she remembers all the good people she met.

Street Fighter 6 [ ]

A sumo wrestler looking to bring the sport worldwide, E. Honda has the skills of a yokozuna, but his constant globetrotting has prevented his promotion. Also an expert chef renowned for mouthwatering chanko stew.

Arcade Mode [ ]

E. honda: chanko house edomon [ ].

While E. Honda is monitoring the construction of his new restraurant, Chanko House Edomon in Metro City , he describe various features and attraction of his new business to the player; a sumo stage where spectator could watch a live match, a "genuine" sumo wrestler who use Sumo Headbutt to serve the food, and an hot spring bath with a tanuki statues stylized after Honda himself. Honda then narrates how he had a trouble of trying to come up with a suitable location for his restraurant, as he literally travelled around the world to find the best place to set up his business.

In a flashback, Honda arrives at the Fête Foraine funfair in France . He is so impressed by the location that he initially decided to set up his restraurant there. Overheard his word, Manon appears and tells Honda that she don't believe the funfair is a good place to set up his business. Before Manon could elaborate, however, Honda challenges the judoka for a bout as he mistakenly believed that she doesn't get "what makes sumo so great".

After a match, Manon decided to clear up the misunderstanding, explaining to Honda that the Fête Foraine is a travelling carnival and it would be relocated elsewhere by the time Honda built his restraurant. Dumbfounded by the revelation, Honda express his disappointment as he is now running out of ideas for the location. Manon then gave an advice to the sumo wrestler that a location is not important since being what they "wanted the world to see" is the most important, just like how Manon is always a model and a judoka regardless of where she went.

Back in the present, Honda concludes that his encounter with Manon is the reason he decided to choose Metro City as the final location, as he wanted it (and himself) to be the "star attraction" of the city and built "just the kinda restraurant [he] had in mind."

World Tour [ ]

Worldwide Sumo Wrestler. Limitless Potential. Bring on the World! ( 世界的な力士。 無限の可能性。 世界を連れて行こう! , Sekai-tekina rikishi. Mugen no kanōsei. Sekai o tsurete ikou! ? )

Taking place after his Arcade storyline, Honda have recently open his restaurant-sumo arena hybrid place Chanko House Edomon. While training the Avatar , he also informs them of Ryu 's whereabouts.

Crossover appearances [ ]

Capcom vs. snk series [ ].

Honda's appearance in the Capcom vs. SNK games is token at best, continuing his Street Fighter II storyline of proving to the world the strength of sumo. Given that it mentions his disciples in his ending, his story is mostly unchanged from Street Fighter II .

Japan Sumo Cup: Yokozuna vs. Street Fighter [ ]

E. Honda was an unlockable playable character.

Cameo appearances [ ]

E. Honda makes a cameo in Capcom Fighting Evolution , at the Japanese Street stage, in which he stands on the sidewalk cheering on the fighters.

In the Disney 2012 film Wreck-It Ralph , he had a cameo as one of the portraits in Tappers'.

E. Honda appears as one of the Spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate .

Animations and Movies [ ]

1994 live-action film [ ].

In the 1994 motion picture based on the Street Fighter franchise, the role of Honda is played by Peter "Navy" Tuiasosopo. Honda is portrayed as a close associate of Chun-Li , serving as her news crew technician and aiding her on her quest to avenge her father's death alongside Balrog . Like Balrog, he has a personal grudge against Shadaloo, who ruined his reputation as a sumo (though no details on how are given). In the film's climax he battles Zangief , smashing through Bison 's base.

While Honda is pure Japanese in the games, he is portrayed in the film as mixed-raced, having Japanese, Native American, and Polynesian heritage, and a native to Hawaii, just as many Japanese Americans are in real-life. His personality is rather laid back compared to his video game counterpart, and is shown to have a near immunity to pain when one of Bison's goons attempts to torture him, something he attributes to his discipline in sumo when Balrog asks about it. He does seem to enjoy fighting when he gets a chance to with Zangief, despite the degree of damage that it causes.

This version of Honda appeared in both the arcade and console games based off the film. In his arcade ending, it states that he returned to the world of professional sumo and regained the title of Yokozuna. The console game took this and expanded upon it, stating that he and Zangief had formed a friendship and had practice matches, with Honda only having one win over Zangief. The outcomes of said matches however seem to be just as calamitous as their original bout, resulting in the destruction of five sumo dojos.

1994 Animated Movie [ ]

Honda appeared as one of the more prominent characters to appear in the second half of the anime, unlike a majority of the characters that were not heavily involved in the backstory of the game. He is voiced by Daisuke Gōri in the Japanese version, and Richard Epcar in the English dub. His personality is relatively unchanged from that in the games, however his goal is shown to be to fight for cash compared to his in-game goal of proving the strength of sumo to the world. Several aspects of his character appearance here saw usage in the Street Fighter Alpha series much like many other characters, but moreso in the Capcom vs. SNK games, where outright nods (such as his run animation being a direct copy of his attempt to charge into Bison) were included in the game.

He's first seen wrestling with Dhalsim in Calcutta to win prize money. Dhalsim manages to slip away from his grip however, and attempts to mentally subdue Honda. Ryu 's presence however distracts Dhalsim enough for Honda to regain control of the match and win due to forfeit. Honda catches up with Ryu, recognizing he helped him win and the fact Ryu is a fellow Japanese fighter, offering him half the prize money (which the latter refuses) as well as a place to stay for a while.

Guile and Bison find Ryu eventually however. While Ryu tries to deal with a brainwashed Ken , Honda charges forward to take on Bison, only for him to teleport out of his path and Ken to send him stumbling forward, straight into Balrog. He and Balrog end up fighting, eventually with both of them falling off a nearby cliff. However Honda seems to recover quickly enough, seen lugging both the unconscious Balrog and Guile back just as Ryu and Ken defeat Bison.

Street Fighter II: Yomigaeru Fujiwara-kyō [ ]

Comics and manga [ ], street fighter gaiden [ ].

E. Honda appears in the Street Fighter Gaiden manga by Mami Itou in Ken's chapter. He is shown to have a student named Keiko Yanase ( 梁瀬恵子 , Yanase Keiko ? ) .

Gameplay [ ]

Fighting style [ ].

Honda's fighting style is based on sumo wrestling , although several of his techniques are either entirely unique additions to his basic sumo training or would be outright prohibited in a formal sumo match, as noted by Dan Hibiki , Rufus and Gouken . This somewhat undercuts his stated goal of promoting sumo wrestling. Though Honda himself later stated in Street Fighter 6 in response to his online critics that his techniques are simply an "evolution" of sumo, and that it will become "standard" once enough people adapted his style.

Moveset [ ]

In his first appearance in the original Street Fighter II , he has two special attacks, the Hundred Hand Slap and the "Super Zutsuki" (commonly referred to as the Flying Headbutt ). In Champion Edition , Honda gains ability to move while performing his Hundred Hand Slap. In Hyper Fighting , he gains a third special attack, the Flying Sumo Smash . In Super Street Fighter II Turbo , Honda gained a fourth special move, the Smashing Oak Tree Throw .

Honda's overall style revolves around baiting jumps and surprising opponents with sudden attacks; he can also use the Hundred Hand Slap as a keepaway or pinning option. Like Guile, Honda has a solid mix of offense and defense, but lacks agility as his moves are rather slow and difficult to execute, and many are unsafe on block. Despite being able to rush his opponent, he is vulnerable to counterattacks from various projectiles, and his attacks can be avoided with a proper jump.

In Street Fighter V , Honda retains his moves from his previous appearances and gains new ones. His first V-Skill is called Neko Damashi, a heavy-handed clap that can negate single-hit projectiles and cancel into his special moves, while his second V-Skill Sumo Spirit lets him combo into and out of an enhanced Hundred-Hand Slap. His first V-Trigger is called Onigawara where he gains access to Oni-Daikaku, a powered-up version of Flying Headbutt that has armor on start-up and can guard-crush at full power. His second V-Trigger is the Tajikarao where his Hundred Hand Slap deals higher damage, and he gains a command grab called Iwato Biraki that slams the opponent into the nearest wall.

Super / Ultra Combos [ ]

In Super Street Fighter II Turbo , Honda gained the Super Killer Head Ram (also known as the Oni-Mu-Sou), a powered-up version of his Flying Headbutt. In Street Fighter Alpha 3 , Honda gains two additional Super Combos, the Fuji Drop and the Orochi Crush . In Street Fighter IV , he gains a new Ultra Combo called the Ultimate Killer Head Ram , in which he does a Sumo Headbutt with so much force that he pushes the enemy to the other end of the stage. After the enemy is cornered at the other end of the stage, Honda uses his Hundred Hand Slap many times until he does one final slap against them causes them to crumple. His second Ultra Combo is the Orochi Breaker which is a more powerful version of the Oicho Throw as Honda's Sumo Slash deals heavy damage upon impact with full of shockwave. In Street Fighter V , his Critical Art is the Kamigashima which is similar to the Ultimate Killer Head Ram.

Pop Culture [ ]

E. Honda/Pop Culture

  • Despite the common (North American) pronunciation of Honda as "Hah-n-da", the actual way to say it would be "Hoh-n-da".
  • Honda is also the only one of the original eight World Warriors to not appear in Street Fighter X Tekken .
  • In fact, Honda has the fewest crossover appearances of the original World Warriors.
  • Honda was also the last original World Warrior to join the cast of Street Fighter V , a fact that was touched upon in his reveal trailer for that game.
  • In Street Fighter X Tekken , Jack-X has a Swap Costume that is based on E. Honda's design.
  • He is one of two people in the iPod Touch version of Street Fighter IV , the other person being Sakura, to use their second Ultra Combo , in contrast to the other characters, who use their first one.
  • Also, in the aforementioned comics, Zangief nicknames Honda Blue Tsunami , parallel to his own Red Cyclone moniker.
  • E. Honda also has the most sweeping attacks of the Street Fighter II cast.
  • E.Honda has the largest known chest size of any Street Fighter character, at 212cm.
  • In addition, there are multiple occasions that E. Honda were criticized in-universe for his unortodox (and otherwise illegal) sumo techniques. Such as in Dan , Gouken , and Rufus ' win quotes against him in Super Street Fighter IV and Kimberly 's win quote against him in Street Fighter 6 . And in his World Tour illustration where he reacted to social media comments that criticized his fighting style in shock.
  • E. Honda's story costume resembles one of Ganryu's customizations in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 .
  • E. Honda's battle costume resembles Ryoma's outfit in Capcom's Power Stone .
  • Interestingly, E. Honda still speaks some Japanese even with his English voice option in Street Fighter V , using the "ja" copula and the phrase "Gottsan desu" often associated with sumo wrestlers.
  • The rising sun Japanese flag has been removed from E. Honda's bath house stage in SFV. The flag was known to represent the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy and has a controversial history due to the army and navy's actions during World War II.
  • In Street Fighter 6 , it is revealed that "Edmond Honda" is not his birth name, and that it is a ring name he chooses to go by in order to spread sumo across the world. Honda states he chose the name "Edmond" due to it both being a western-sounding name, and featuring connections to historical Japan in the form of how it is pronounced in Japanese ( Edomondo ), bringing to mind the Edo period.
  • The misread of one of his Japanese win quotes in Street Fighter II , “ T'was easier than morning training ! ” ( 朝のけいこ より、楽勝でごわす!!!! , Asa no keiko yori, rakushō de gowasu!! ? ) , led to a joke among gamers about a woman who was on par with E. Honda, Keiko Asano (similar to how one of Ryu's win quote mistranslations in the English versions led to the Sheng Long hoax). While the joke was referenced many times in Street Fighter media, the character finally made her debut in Street Fighter 6 .

Street Fighter 6's Akuma DLC Has Secret Supers, And Fans Can’t Believe It

The hype for kingdom hearts on steam just shows how much people hate the epic game store, boy, i sure hope assassin's creed shadows isn't just ghost of tsushima, quick links, chapter 8 - 1: a toast to victory, chapter 8 - 2: tracking the mystery code, chapter 8 - 3: the elusive former national champ, chapter 8 - 4: big in japan, chapter 8 - 5: meeting at the sirn building, chapter 8 - 6: scraping the sky, chapter 8 - 7: high-flying man, notable avatars, hidden sirn chests.

So, you just won the Novice League Tournament, and you're a Metro City town hero. Life is good, right? Unfortunately, the good times don't last long in Street Fighter 6's World Tour. Just when you thought you could walk away from the Bosch drama, it pulls you right back in!

Related: Street Fighter 6: World Tour - Chapter 7 Walkthrough

Still, a little drama isn't a bad thing, especially when you meet FOUR ORIGINAL WORLD WARRIORS! If you thought World Tour mode was fan service before, wait until you've played Chapter 8. (Oh, and you'll fight refrigerators, too. But more on that later.)

Li-Fen reached a significant breakthrough with the encrypted memory card data while you kicked ass in the Novice League tournament. Head to Chinatown and grab some shaobing to get the 411.

Step 1: Fight Jamie

On your way to Bao Bao Bro, you'll walk in on Jamie taking down some Canary Crate ne'er-do-wells. After all, he is the "neighborhood peacekeeper." Unfortunately, he'll assume you're also a gang member and initiate a fight.

Unlike earlier matches, like the Juri fight, the match with Jamie is more balanced and easier to win. One stellar way to catch him off guard is to punish him whenever he goes for a drink from his flask .

Once the misunderstanding gets resolved, you'll become friends with Jamie. However, you won't be able to study under him yet.

Step 2: Talk To Li-Fen

Li-Fen will reveal that the data key contains three photos from around Metro City featuring posters containing random letters and numbers . These vital posters form a mysterious contact number you must unlock on your smartphone.

  • Flight Ticket x 5

After your conversation with Li-Fen, she'll send you the rest of the poster photos to your phone. All that's left to do is collect the posters.

Step 1: Collect The Posters

You'll find the posters in the following locations marked on your map:

  • Bayside Park
  • Construction Site near Baller Mando
  • Westbay Promenade

You can use the poster clues to enter the passcode or follow the next step below.

Step 2: Enter The Passcode

Once you collected all three posters, open the Messages app on your smart device. Then enter the following six-digit code:

  • 8,000 Zenny
  • Mighty Jawdestroyer x 5

Your new anonymous contact, Asterisk , will ask if you're Bosch. Once you confirm you're not him, Asterisk will offer you information regarding Bosch in exchange for intel on various Street Fighters. The first fighter on Asterisk's list? A former National Martial Arts Champ.

Step 1: Enter The SiRN Construction Site

To enter the SiRN construction site, you must have a Safety Helmet equipped with your gear . You can get a Safety Helmet by completing the "Safety First" sub-mission or purchasing one for 2,000 Zenny at the Kiss Ache Away store near Urban Park .

Talk to Nia at the entrance while wearing your helmet to enter the site.

Step 2: Meet Ken Masters

When you enter the construction site, a cutscene will occur where you will push someone out of the way from a falling beam. Ken will appear and deflect the beam away from you with a fiery kick.

Ken will enter the left scaffolding tower at the cutscene's end.

Step 3: Defeat Gus

But, of course, you can't stroll wherever you want on the construction site. To enter Ken's scaffolding tower, you must prove your strength to Gus, a worker guarding the scaffolding's entrance . Defeat him to enter the tower.

Step 4: Snap A Photo Of Ken

You'll find Ken on the scaffolding's second floor . Once you approach him, a blue marker will appear , signaling you to enter your smart device's camera app. After opening the app, select "Mission Mode" and take the photo .

Send this intel to Asterisk, and they'll direct you toward your next mark.

Master Opportunity: Ken

How would you like to learn from a champion? Talk to Ken and request you become his student. Then, you'll both enter a match so he can gauge your strengths and weaknesses. You'll become Ken's student after completing the match and the following cutscene.

  • 1,000 Miles
  • Lukewarm Beer x 1

Asterisk's next assignment directs you toward a fighter from Japan. However, with multiple Japanese fighters in this game, that's not the clearest request.

Step 1: Snap A Photo Of E. Honda

Your first instinct is to take a snapshot of a famous sumo wrestler living in Metro City. Visit the Sumo Restaurant near Urban Park to view a cutscene introducing the one and only Edmond Honda!

Once the cutscene is over, go to the designated photo spot and follow the same steps from Chapter 8 - 3 . Unfortunately, once you send the photo to Asterisk, they'll reveal it wasn't the fighter they sought.

Master Opportunity: E. Honda

Ready to become a professional sumo wrestler? Talk to E. Honda and request you become his student. You'll enter an awesome cutscene where the two of you duke it out in the sumo ring! After this initiation, you'll enroll in his style.

Step 2: Snap A Photo Of Ryu

Your conversation with Asterisk will direct you to Genbu Temple , thus unlocking it on the World Map. Fly over there to meet Street Fighter's legendary protagonist, Ryu!

After a fantastic cutscene that may make you cry (Just me? Okay.), Ryu will sit down to meditate . Use this opportunity to snap a mission photo of him . When you send the picture to Asterisk, they'll confirm he is the warrior they wanted.

Master Opportunity: Ryu

The time has come to enter the "heart of battle." Speak with Ryu and request to become his student. You'll fight in a match to convince him to take you on as a mentee.

After the match, you and Ryu will enter a disciplined training session (seriously, it's an awe-inspiring moment!). When this cutscene ends, you'll become his student.

  • 5,000 Zenny

Your last target will take some additional steps to meet. Specifically, you must enter a high-security building and commit identity theft. (NBD, really).

Step 1: Get The SiRN Key Card

This mission is straightforward. Travel to the SiRN construction site and speak with Jonathan , the SiRN security guard in the blue shirt with the yellow tie. He's working with Asterisk and will hand over the card to you.

Related: Street Fighter 6: Beginner's Guide To Ken

Now that you have a SiRN key card, you can nab the materials you need to impersonate a SiRN researcher. To complete this mission, you must grab a lab coat and a SiRN staff name tag .

Step 1: Get Into The SiRN Building

First, head to your hangout and wait until Night time . Then, you can enter the Night Shift area of the construction site that leads to the SiRN offices. Here are the step-by-step instructions:

  • Enter the construction site and turn right to enter the Night Shift area .
  • Head upstairs and fight Gus to cross the bridge to the next platform.
  • Drop off the bridge and make three right turns until you find the yellow power box . Turn on the box to power up the cranes.
  • Head back from whence you came and climb the two metal slab piles to return to the Night Shift entrance .
  • Cross the bridge and climb the ladder at the end of the room , located on the right.
  • Check your key card at the SiRN reader around the corner. A crane will move a platform in front of the STOP line.
  • Step on the crane platform and travel to the next scaffolding tower.
  • Run to the back of the tower and climb the ladder to the next floor. Then, follow the ramps up the tower until you reach the next SiRN reader.
  • Check-in at the SiRN reader . Then climb the ladder to the next floor and head onto the crane platform past the STOP line .
  • You'll encounter three poisonous drones on your way to the SiRN building . Use anti-air attacks like Shoryuken or Rising Uppercut to defeat them quickly.
  • Now you can enter the Base Server Room located on the right .

Step 2: Get The Lab Coat

Continue ascending the SiRN office floors to get to the Lab Coat. It's located in a SiRN chest in the 2nd Floor Office . Speak to SiRN Staff Grace to help you find it.

Step 3: Upgrade Your Security Clearance

You must upgrade your security clearance before you can access the elevator that reaches other SiRN floors. This requires a login from a desktop located in the 3rd Floor Office .

However, when you reach the 3rd Floor Office, you'll encounter Kimberly . She, too, is breaking into SiRN for unknown reasons. You must defeat her in a match to continue with the mission. Once you win, she'll deactivate the security alarm for you , thus making your upgrade much more manageable.

Now, approach this desktop to complete the upgrade.

Step 4: Get The Staff Name Tag

Use your new security clearance to ride the elevator to the 5th floor . Then, speak with SiRN Staff Liu , who happens to be missing his name card. He'll ponder if he left it in the server room, which provides your next lead.

Head down to the 3rd Floor Server Room, and you'll see an AI Refrigerator . Approach the refrigerator to begin an intense boss battle!

This three-on-one match pits you against the fridge, a drone, and a Hyoomba . In addition, the Shock Zone gimmick is in play. This means you'll get electrocuted if you get caught between the two electrical prods when they descend on screen.

Once you defeat the fridge, you'll obtain the Name Card, thus accomplishing your goal.

At this point, you've fought plenty of Hyoombas and attack drones. But what about AI Refrigerators? These opponents are tricky. Refrigerators have plenty of armor that absorbs most attacks. The key to beating the fridge is to cross it right before it starts hurling food at you. Then, strike it from the back . If you hit the fridge during its projectile attack, you'll trigger Pressure Time.

Step 5: Leave The SiRN Building

All that's left to do is to leave the SiRN building via Fast Travel . We don't know how a bus can transport you from inside a third-story building to the street below. But we won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

  • 7,000 Miles
  • Street Fiber (Head) x 1

So, what is the purpose of all this lab researcher cosplay? You'll soon discover that you must infiltrate a US government aircraft carrier. Who knew federal crimes were on the docket today?

Step 1: Meet Jonathan At The Construction Site

Equip the lab coat and meet Jonathan, the security guard, at the same spot you met him in Chapter 8 - 5 . He'll check over your look and give you the go-ahead for the rest of the mission. Your next stop is a US Navy aircraft carrier.

Step 2: Talk To Officer Curtis

Now that you're in disguise, and cleared to proceed, head to the Grace Marina and speak to Officer Curtis . Since you're posing as a SiRN researcher, he'll brief you on a maintenance job regarding SiRN's AI cleaning bots assigned to the Aircraft Carrier Byron Taylor. Then, he'll welcome you aboard.

Step 3: Complete The Maintenance Job

When you arrive on the aircraft carrier, you'll see that the AI cleaning bots have become very aggressive. So, it's your job to get them under control. Your next battle is against two rampaging Hyoombas and one rampaging drone . Fortunately, you'll face them one at a time.

After the battle, a cutscene will occur as your avatar tries to take down the last nasty Hyoomba. Luckily, a famous soldier will enter in the nick of time and flash-kick that sucker clean in half! Yes, we're talking about Guile .

Step 4: Snap A Photo Of Guile

Finally, find the proper position and use your camera's Mission Mode to get a snapshot of Guile to send to Asterisk. Asterisk will confirm Guile's identity, and thank you for your intel collection.

While Asterisk will not have more intel ready yet, they will invite you to visit Bosch's home country of Nayshall. This begins the next chapter.

Master Opportunity: Guile

Like the other masters in this chapter, there are no hoops to jump through to get Guile to become your teacher. If you approach him with the request, he'll oblige. After all, how could he refuse one of Luke's students?

There are so many interesting characters you'll find in Chapter 8. However, two avatars stand out for offering awesome gear drops!

Miharu Abeno

  • Location: Genbu Temple, Japan

Honda 'steadily and surely moving ahead' on EVs, announces large investment

Upcoming 0 series will be introduced in north america in 2026 and then rolled out globally.

world tour e honda

TOKYO — Japanese automaker Honda reaffirmed its commitment to electric vehicles Thursday, saying it will invest 10 trillion yen ($65 billion) through fiscal 2031 to deliver EV models around the world, including the U.S. and China .

“ Honda has not changed its belief that EVs are the most effective solution in the area of small mobility products such as motorcycles and automobiles,” the Tokyo-based company said in a statement.

By 2030, battery EVs and fuel cell EVs will make up 40% of Honda Motor Co.’s global auto sales , and it will have global production capacity for more than 2 million EVs, it said.

The so-called “0 Series,” a key part of Honda’s EV strategy, will be a totally new EV series created from “zero,” Chief Executive Toshihiro Mibe told reporters in an online presentation.

The 0 Series will be introduced in North America in 2026 and then rolled out globally, with seven models launched by 2030. In China, Honda will introduce 10 EV models by 2027, with 100% of its auto sales there EVs by 2035.

“We will become a frontrunner in changing lifestyles to attain sustainability goals, not wait for someone else to tackle them,” Mibe told reporters.

Despite some talk of a slowdown in electric vehicles in some markets, the move toward EVs remains solid in the long run, becoming dominant in the latter half of the 2020s, according to Honda, which makes Acura and Civic sedans and Gold Wing Tour motorcycles.

Honda’s determination to pursue battery and fuel-cell EVs appears to contrast with domestic rival Toyota Motor Corp .’s more varied or “multiple” powertrains approach, focusing on hybrids and other models that still have engines.

Honda is keeping hybrids in its lineup as it ramps up output of EVs, beefing up battery production, and making them thinner, aiming for zero accidents, Mibe said.

Of the 10 trillion yen ($65 billion) investment in the works, about 2 trillion yen ($13 billion) will go into research and development on software and another 2 trillion yen ($13 billion) into setting up comprehensive EV value chains in key markets such as the U.S., Canada and Japan .

About 6 trillion yen ($39 billion) will go into “monozukuri,” or “the art of making things” in Japanese, such as the construction of next-generation EV production plants, electrification of motorcycles and EV model development, the company said.

Mibe stressed Honda’s various partnerships, such as the one on developing EVs and intelligent driving technology with Japanese rival Nissan Motor Co ., announced earlier this year.

Honda announced Wednesday it signed a deal with IBM to work together on computer chips and software for future vehicles, meeting the upcoming demand for better processing and lower power consumption.

“We are steadily and surely moving ahead to be prepared for electrification,” Mibe said.

PGA TOUR winner Grayson Murray passes away at 30

PGA TOUR winner Grayson Murray passes away at 30

Change Text Size

Grayson Murray, who won his second PGA TOUR title at this year’s Sony Open in Hawaii, passed away Saturday.

"We were devastated to learn – and are heartbroken to share – that PGA TOUR player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I am at a loss for words,” PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan said. “The PGA TOUR is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.

“I reached out to Grayson’s parents to offer our deepest condolences, and during that conversation, they asked that we continue with tournament play,” Commissioner Monahan continued. “They were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so. As difficult as it will be, we want to respect their wishes.”

Grief counselors were made available at the venues for this week’s PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour events. Commissioner Monahan, who traveled from TOUR headquarters in Florida to the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, said he was "devastated" by the loss.

Grayson's parents, Eric and Terry Murray, said in a statement Sunday that the cause of death was suicide .

"Was Grayson loved? The answer is yes," his parents wrote. "By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family, by his friends, by his fellow players and – it seems – by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed."

Murray, 30, was a standout golfer from his youth. He won three consecutive Callaway Junior World Championships (2006-08) and was the top-ranked golfer in his age group. He made his first cut on the Korn Ferry Tour at age 16, becoming the second-youngest player ever to do so. After stints at Wake Forest University, East Carolina University and Arizona State University, he got the break he needed in 2016 when he was given a sponsor exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour event near his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. He finished inside the top 10 at that event, the Rex Hospital Open, which qualified him for another start. When he posted another top 10 at the BMW Charity Pro-Am, his professional career took off. He concluded his season with a victory at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship to finish second on the Korn Ferry Tour money list and earn full status on the PGA TOUR for the 2016-17 season. The win came a week before his 23rd birthday.

Murray wasted little time establishing himself on golf’s biggest stage as a rookie. He won the 2017 Barbasol Championship while still just 23 years old. His final-round 68 not only secured a one-shot victory, but also solidified a two-year exemption through the 2019 PGA TOUR season. He finished 66th in the FedExCup and earned nearly $1.5 million.

Grayson struggled for the next few seasons on the PGA TOUR. In 2023, he found his game again on the Korn Ferry Tour; he notched two victories – the Advent Health Championship in Kansas City and the Simmons Bank Open outside of Nashville – to finish fourth on that tour’s points list and earn a spot back onto the PGA TOUR for the following season.

Murray opened the 2024 season with a playoff victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He made a clutch up and down on the 72nd hole for a birdie to force a playoff. Then he sank a 40-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to defeat Byeong Hun An and Keegan Bradley. He reached a career-high 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking after that victory.
