The Black Keys

The Black Keys have quietly canceled their upcoming International Players Tour, which was scheduled to bring them to arenas throughout North America.

The tour, announced in early April, was scheduled to kick off in September, with dates set for New York City’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. The 31-date trek would have brought them across North America, with stops planned in Seattle, Boston and Milwaukee before concluding at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on Nov. 12. All dates have been marked as canceled on Ticketmaster’s website.

Management and publicity for the Black Keys did not respond to Variety ‘s requests for comment.

After news broke on Saturday that the tour had been canceled, the group posted on Instagram explaining that they had to reconfigure their tour to bring a similarly “exciting, intimate experience” for fans and that tickets for the original trek would be refunded in full.

“The band wants to assure everyone that Dan & Patrick are alive and well,” reads the caption. “Following the recent run of shows in the UK & Europe, including stops at iconic venues like Brixton Academy and the Zenith in Paris, we have decided to make some changes to the North American leg of the International Players Tour that will enable us to offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band, and will be announcing a revised set of dates shortly. Everyone who had purchased tickets and/or VIP to the initial tour dates will be fully refunded – and when the new plans are announced, will be the first to be able to buy tickets. Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the surprise change… We’re pretty sure everyone is going to be excited when you see what we have in mind though, and look forward to seeing everyone soon.”

The Black Keys should have UGK and Outkast’s 2007 hit “Int’l Players Anthem” blast through every arena they take the stage on during their forthcoming tour — it would only be fitting. The band has announced the 2024 International Players tour in support of their forthcoming album Ohio Players , out Friday. The North American run of shows will feature special guests The Head And The Heart on select dates.

The International Players tour will run for 31 dates, beginning in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Sept. 17 and wrapping in Detroit, Michigan, on Nov. 12. The Black Keys will make stops in Austin, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Toronto, Nashville, Louisville, New York, Baltimore, Chicago, and more. The band will also perform two hometown shows in Ohio.

General sale for the tour will begin on Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. local time. Presales will run throughout the week through Live Nation and the official Black Keys website.

Hawk tuah girl has already sold at least $65,000 worth of merch, 'the bear' season 3 is everything you've been waiting for and (maybe too much) more, trump allies urge him not to be a ‘raging asshole’ at debate.

“We had this epiphany: ‘We can call our friends to help us make music.’ It’s funny because we both write songs with other people – Dan all the time [as a solo artist and producer], me when I’m producing a record. That’s what we do,” Patrick Carney added. “What we wanted to accomplish with this record was make something that was fun. And something that most bands 20 years into their career don’t make, which is an approachable, fun record that is also cool.”

'Stay tuned,' Black Keys drummer says on reasons for tour downgrade and management split

The drummer for rockers the Black Keys hinted Monday that an explanation for the band's recent troubles is coming.

In a post on X, Patrick Carney gave a short message to fans: "We got f---ed. I’ll let you all know how so it doesn’t happen to you. Stay tuned."

The note follows a round of headlines for the Ohio-born duo that have signaled turmoil.

Late last month, the band announced it was canceling its planned tour of arenas in favor of more intimate venues — though dates for the new shows have yet to be announced.

Then last week, the band said it had split with a management team led by entertainment executive Irving Azoff. The news, first reported by The New York Times, was confirmed by Azoff to Variety, who called it an “amicable parting.” The Black Keys had been with Azoff and another manager, Steve Moir, since 2021.

A representative for Azoff said he had no comment. A representative for Moir did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Azoff is best known as the manger of the Eagles and the former CEO of Ticketmaster and former chairman of its parent company, Live Nation. Another Azoff-connected group has been directly implicated in the U.S. Justice Department's anti-monopoly suit against Ticketmaster and Live Nation . In their complaint, federal prosecutors named Oak View Group, a live entertainment advisory service, as having a relationship with Live Nation that unduly influenced the market.

Azoff cofounded Oak View, though is no longer listed as an executive there. He is not directly named in the Justice Department's suit.

In addition to the Eagles, Azoff has also managed legendary artists like Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Journey and Bon Jovi. Over the years, he earned a reputation for the bare-knuckle tactics in negotiating on behalf of the groups and artists he represents. The L.A. Times has reported that Steely Dan co-founder Walter Becker said they’d hired Azoff because he “impressed us with his taste for the jugular … and his bizarre spirit.”

And at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Eagles co-founder Don Henley said, "As I’ve said before, he may be Satan — but he’s  our  Satan."

Fans react as The Black Keys cancel entire 2024 North America arena tour

The 'International Players Tour' was set to include 31 shows from September to November

The Black Keys

The Black Keys appear to have cancelled their upcoming North American arena tour which was due to take place from September to November.

The band announced the ‘International Players Tour’ tour last month , which was due to total a run of 31 dates across the US and Canada this autumn, in support of their 12th album ‘ Ohio Players ’, which came out on April 5.

The duo – comprising  Dan Auerbach  and Patrick Carney – were due to kick off in Tulsa on September 17, with Seattle band The Head And The Heart set to support them at select shows. The full list of shows on the tour can be found here .

Tickets, which had been available here , now show that all of the shows on the tour are cancelled, although the one-off show at Chicago’s Grant Park on July 6 is still listed as going ahead. The band’s own website also has removed all of the shows from the tour, with no explanation given.

NME have contacted the band’s representatives for an official response.

Refunds will be issued automatically at the place of purchase for all ticket holders, via the original method of purchase.

Many Black Keys fans have been left bemused by the news, with one writing: “The Black Keys just canceled their entire North American arena tour for this fall due to extremely poor sales (likely due to exorbitantly priced tickets — most markets were $100+ just to get in the building). Whoever thought booking this band in arenas in 2024 should be fired.”

The tour was due to follow  the duo’s UK and Ireland tour this spring , which featured  three nights at the O2 Academy Brixton .

‘Ohio Players’, meanwhile, contained collaborations with the likes of  Noel Gallagher  and  Beck and included the singles  ‘Beautiful People (Stay High)’ ,  ‘I Forgot To Be Your Lover’  and  ‘This Is Nowhere’ .

In a three-star review of the album , NME wrote: “It feels like it’s about impact over depth, tamping down flyaway elements into a homogenised whole that more closely resembles last year’s  ‘Dropout Boogie’  than any of the seven inch singles that got an airing during the writing process. The Black Keys might have a killer record collection but ‘Ohio Players’ is the work of a band who are perhaps too good at being themselves.”

The Black Keys cancel fall North American tour that was to launch in Oklahoma: What to know

will the black keys tour in 2024

The Black Keys have canceled their 2024 North American headlining tour that was originally slated to launch in Oklahoma.

The duo of singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney announced in April plans to kick off the fall "International Players Tour" Sept. 17 at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Produced by Live Nation, the coast-to-coast tour originally was scheduled to go on to New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, with two dates in the band’s home state of Ohio.

The Black Keys ' 31-city autumn tour was to support their 12th studio album, "Ohio Players," which was released April 5 via Nonesuch Records.

The Tulsa tour-launching date is now listed as canceled at bokcenter.com . All the dates have been scrubbed from the Black Keys' website and are listed as canceled on Ticketmaster.com except for the July 6 NASCAR Chicago Street Race at Grant Park.

The Black Keys reveal plans to reconfigure tour, promise to announce new dates

An Instagram post over Memorial Day weekend on The Black Keys' official account assured fans that Carney and Auerbach "are alive and well."

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

The Instagram post also revealed the duo's plans to reconfigure the the North American leg of the tour.

"Following the recent run of shows in the UK & Europe, including stops at iconic venues like Brixton Academy and the Zenith in Paris, we have decided to make some changes to the North American leg of the International Players Tour that will enable us to offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band, and will be announcing a revised set of dates shortly," the band posted on Instagram.

The post states that fans who purchased tickets to the initial tour dates will be fully refunded, "and when the new plans are announced, will be the first to be able to buy tickets."

Tulsa ticketholders received an email over the weekend that "no action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer." Ticketholders should expect the refund to appear on their account within 14 to 21 days, according to the email.

"Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the surprise change," The Black Keys' Instagram post concluded. "We’re pretty sure everyone is going to be excited when you see what we have in mind though, and look forward to seeing everyone soon."

I love to finally have been able to see them!

There were a few things that would've made this experience better for me:

* too much time between songs and not with chit chat with the audience, just silence;

* yeah, more chit chat and engagement with the audience;

* the voice was drowned by the music too many times;

* which was even worse when they decided to slow sing some of their not so slow songs - we cannot hear you sing and now we do not have the hard drums in the background;

* the venue is just not a good venue for concerts (which is the case with big venues like that, makes you feel restricted) so advice for the band is to not perform in such venues, which I know is difficult because there are so many of us wanting to see them, so where else to play?! Music festivals!!!

The experience with Song kick was horrible... I bought tickets off of their website and then when I went to pick them up, they informed me at Willcall that I have been scammed... as there were no tickets waiting for me. Dont buy with this app... I lost 150 bucks. Its shit.

Thanks for fucking me guys!

I've been a Black Keys fan since they released Magic Potion in 2007. They've consistently been my favorite band and I am proud to still be their biggest fan. This was the 4th time I've seen them live and by far the most impressive performance. Even though we were far back, the entire section rocked out like we were front row. They played all their greatest hits including some off their old albums like Oceans & Streams, Thickfreakness, and Magic Potion. The new music rocks out so I am so pleased with this experience I now call, the best concert of my life. I will travel to Boston on October 11th to see them live for my 25th birthday - LET'S ROCK!

Sexyy Red dances onstage with a microphone in hand.

Consider the 2024 election officially a three-party race.

Budding Hip-Hop icon Sexyy Red just threw her hat into the ring, announcing the ‘Sexyy Red 4 President Tour’ that will send her and special guests Hunxho , Loe Shimmy, BlakeIANA and another unnamed special guest to arenas all over North America from August through October.

The tour is presumably in support of her recently released, not quite politically-inspired album “In Sexyy We Trust.”

Sexyy New York fans need not worry either.

While on the campaign trail, the 26-year-old rapper will stump at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

“WE POPPING OUT AND TURNING TF UP,” she shared on Instagram .

If you can’t wait to pop out and turn up with this year’s most electric candidate, tickets are available for all Sexyy Red concerts as of today.

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘Sexyy Red 4 President’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats ; the official on-sale is Friday, June 28.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Sexyy Red tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Sexyy Red 2024 festival appearances

Prior to the tour’s launch, Sexyy will headline at a pair of festivals.

For a closer look at what to expect from the multi-day music extravaganzas, here are the essential details you need about Sexyy Red’s 2024 festival appearances:

Sexxy Red set list

Sexyy Red’s last non-festival gig was on April 5 in Jacksonville, FL.

According to Set List FM , here’s what she took to the stage that night:

01.) “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” 02.) “Hood Rats” 03.) “Shake Yo Dreads” 04.) “Get It Sexyy” 05.) “I Don’t Wanna Be Saved” 06.) “I’m the S***” 07.) “Peaches & Eggplants” (Young Nudy cover) 08.) “Mad at Me” 09.) “SHAKE SUMN” (DaBaby cover) 10.) “Looking For The Hoes (Ain’t My Fault)” 11.) “Hellcats SRTs” 12.) “SkeeYee” 13.) “Rich Baby Daddy” (Drake cover) 14.) “Get It Sexyy” 15.) “Pound Town” 16.) “Sexyy Walk”

Sexyy Red new music

On May 24, Sexxy Red dropped her third mixtape “In Sexyy We Trust.”

Comprised of 14 tracks, the album goes hard all the way through with club-ready trap beats and sticky, NSFW rhymes that will rattle around in your head for days.

Standout tracks include the anthemic “Get It Sexyy,” smooth, danceable “Fake Jammin'” and throwback bop “Outside.”

Make sure to stay until the end, too; that’s when Sexyy drops the likely soon-to-be birthday party staple “It’s My Birthday.”

Need to give the mixtape a spin? You can listen to “In Sexxy We Trust” in its entirety here .

Sexyy Red special guests

At all shows, Sexyy will be joined by an opening act or two.

To make sure you’re familiar with their sounds, you can find each artist’s most-streamed track on Spotify below.

Thousands of music fans will be getting their tents and wellies together for a weekend of live music at Glastonbury Festival .

Worthy Farm will play host to hundreds of acts, including Dua Lipa, Sza and Coldplay, with Shania Twain in the coveted legends slot.

But many have dubbed this year’s line-up ‘underwhelming’, with some stars coming out to say they even turned down a slot at the event.

Pop star Nadine Shah announced she had been approached to perform, but would not be among this year’s Glastonbury line-up because the fee was too low.

But she’s not the only one, with many famous artists and groups declining to appear at the Worthy Farm event – some vowing never to play full stop.

Lana Del Rey once admitted to repeatedly turning down a slot at the festival before eventually delighting fans with an appearance last year, and Taylor Swift reportedly couldn’t make a set work back in 2022.

Here are some of the top artists who have said ‘no’ to a coveted Glastonbury slot.

Duran Duran

Duran Duran are not Hungry Like The Wolf to play Glastonbury Festival.

Singer Simon Le Bon told The Telegraph in 2023 that the band has been approached to perform, but has always turned it down ‘on principle.’

‘3pm in the Disco Tent isn’t really where we see ourselves. A long time ago I vowed I would never set foot in Glastonbury unless it was on the Pyramid Stage at a decent hour of the night,’ he said.

‘I’ve been asked to camp, to glamp and invited to fly in and out by helicopter. I’ve always refused on principle.’

Queen’s live show has headline slot written all over it, but the band has so far refused to play thanks to one thing – badgers.

Guitarist Brian May , a staunch advocate for British wildlife and the conservation of badgers, has famously repeatedly turned down Glastonbury due to founder Michael Eavis’ pro-badger cull stance.

In 2019, May told Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 show that Eavis has ‘frequently insulted him’ and is ‘in favour of the badger cull, which I regard as a tragedy and an unnecessary crime against wildlife.’

He reaffirmed his stance back in 2023, telling The Sun : ‘As the man who runs it advocates killing badgers for no good reason and I could never level with that [playing Glastonbury].

‘Have they tried to book us? I think the feeling is mutual so I think they understand how I feel.’

The Black Keys

Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys playing guitar onstage

The Black Keys have played Glastonbury in the past, but have vowed never to return again.

Last year, drummer Patrick Carney said the band turned down the festival after receiving an ‘insulting’ offer – though it’s unclear whether this refers to pay, slot, or stage arrangements.

He claimed in an interview with NME : ‘We got an offer from Glastonbury that was so insulting, we’re never going to play the festival again.

‘We know it’s a big deal for people in the UK but the weight of what the festival is doesn’t translate to most Americans. We have no interest in playing it.’

Fleetwood Mac

Stevie Nicks, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac standing in front of a crowd onstage

Fleetwood Mac has doused any hopes of playing live again following the death of Christine McVie .

But long before then, they have turned down a slot at Glastonbury reportedly due to being given a low offer to perform.

A source told The Sun in 2019: ‘Michael Eavis is a huge fan and really, really wanted to make it work. He knew getting them on board for the 50th anniversary would be extra special and conversations were positive.

‘They even hinted at it on stage when they played Wembley in June, joking to fans they still had, “a big field to play at a rained-out festival in England next year.”

‘But ultimately, while Mick Fleetwood was up for it with the money on offer, other members didn’t feel it was worthwhile.’

The Kinks playing guitars and singing onstage

Once upon a time, The Kinks were due to play Glastonbury but reportedly pulled out.

Why? Rumour has it that the iconic rock band declined a performance after seeing it described as a ‘mini-festival’ in a newspaper.

They were set to perform at the first ever Glastonbury , which cost just £1 to enter with Eavis telling press ‘playing skittles’ was the pinnacle of local culture at the event.

Ray Davies from The Kinks, after reading the article, faked a doctor’s note due to a sore throat and the band never performed.

Other bands and singers who have turned down a Glastonbury slot

  • The Darkness
  • Led Zeppelin
  • Richard Hawley
