BGC Bus Terminal Guide (2024): routes, schedules, fare and commuter tips

Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is a major business and financial district in Metro Manila, Philippines. However, getting to BGC can be challenging for first-time visitors. This is a common topic in a Facebook group for commuters, where first-time travel inquiries to the district are frequently posted.

Where is the BGC Bus Terminal?

BGC Bus actually has two terminals:

The first BGC Bus Terminal, which is the EDSA Ayala Station Terminal, is located at the corner of EDSA and McKinley Road in Makati City. It is easily accessible by MRT-3, as the Ayala Station is just a short walk away.

It's on the ground floor outside the McKinley Exchange Corporate Center (the building with Telus) and on the side of Forbes Park. You'll also find a Shell gas station and the staircase of MRT Ayala Station northbound exit there.

The other terminal is located at the back of Market! Market! Mall facing the C-5 road.

How to get to the BGC Bus Terminal?

Get to the BGC Bus Terminal via Sakay.ph or by downloading the app for iPhone and Android .

Commuters have several options to reach the terminal including taking the MRT-3 train or riding a bus via the EDSA Carousel . For those coming from the North, you may alight at One Ayala Terminal and take the overpass.

BGC Bus Weekday Routes

📍 bgc bus east route.

Stops for East Express Route:

• EDSA Ayala Station
• Market! Market!

This route from EDSA Ayala bus station to the Market! Market! Mall is a direct point-to-point connection , offering the quickest way to travel between the two locations without any intermediate stops.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Fare: PHP15.00

📍 BGC BUS NORTH ROUTE

Stops for North Route:

• Uptown Mall
• The Globe Tower
• BGC Arts Center

The North BGC bus route is the one you want to hop on if you're heading to BGC Turf or BGC Arts Center. It's the only route that makes stops there. So, if you're planning to go to any of those spots or somewhere close by, make sure to catch the North bus route.

While the East Express route is a point-to-point service, passengers on the North and all other routes can board and drop off at any stop along the way.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. | Saturday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

📍 BGC BUS WEST ROUTE

Stops for West Route:

• McKinley Parkway
• The Fort Station
• Bonifacio Stopover

📍 BGC BUS CENTRAL ROUTE

BGC Bus stops for Central Route:

• One Parkade
• University Parkway

The only route that starts from the Market! Market! terminal, this route transports passengers to multiple locations within BGC, making eight stopovers along the way.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

📍 BGC BUS WEEKEND ROUTE

Weekend Route Bus Stops:

• Arya Residences
• Trade & Financial Center

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

📍 NEW ROUTE: LRT GIL PUYAT

Starting May 20, BGC Bus has added a new weekday route at LRT-1 Gil Puyat Station. The service runs from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. While the frequency of departures is still to be confirmed, the bus will also stop by McKinley Exchange Corporate Center and One Ayala Terminal.

Schedule:  Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Fare:  PHP15.00

📍 BGC BUS NIGHT SCHEDULE

BGC Night Buses are now operational starting April 15, 2024. The first trip from both EDSA Ayala and Market! Market! Terminals starts at midnight while the last trip is at 5:00 AM.

How to pay for the BGC bus fare?

The BGC Bus terminal is now 100% cashless! That's right, no more fumbling for cash or coins while boarding the bus. Instead, passengers can conveniently pay for their fares using Beep card.

For those who don't have the card, there is an option to buy a one-time use Beep QR ticket. Simply go to the ticket booth and the teller will assist you. The paper ticket costs PHP15.00.

Edsa Ayala Terminal Beep Booth:

The payment booth can be found at the left side area if you are coming from EDSA.

Once you have purchased your ticket, proceed to the entrance where the Beep card scanner is located. An attendant will then collect your ticket. After that, you may proceed to the route of your destination to board the bus. Make sure to double check that you are riding the correct bus!

Market! Market! Beep Booth:

If you are facing the C-5 road, the booth can be found on your right. It is also across an Uncle John’s convenience store.

Same procedure as above, either scan the Beep card before boarding or present the QR ticket to the attendant. Take note that there are two routes here, one that goes back to the EDSA Ayala terminal and the other goes to Arca South so make sure to check the signboards!

A few additional tips:

• Make sure to double check that you are lining up for the correct bus to your destination! Check the signs to know which route is which. 🪧
• Single journey tickets are not sold at stopovers, and the only payment method for boarding is via Beep card. 💳
• Face mask is required inside the bus. 😷
• Be prepared for long lines, especially during peak hours. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑👭🧑‍🤝‍🧑
• Be aware of your surroundings and keep your belongings close to you. ⚠️

To commute by jeep from Ayala Makati to BGC Market Market, you may ride the jeepneys beside BGC Bus terminal and the fare is ₱11. You may also ride the habal habal motor from Ayala MRT to any point in BGC and the fare is ₱40 to ₱50.

To commute by van from Ayala Makati to BGC. ride the vans passing Ayala Avenue going to Pasig or Antipolo. The van will turn around in Ayala RCBC towards Buendia flyover. You may drop down the old JP Morgan Chase or in Uptown North Philplans.

There is also a MetroExpress P2P from Trasierra Makati to Vista Mall Taguig with the following schedule: 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM and Palar FTI UV Express Van in Park Square.

The minimum fare for LRT 1 is ₱11 for the Stored Value Cards (Beep) ₱15 Single Journey Ticket while the maximum fare end to end is ₱30.

The new LRT 1 fare matrix effective August 2, 2023 is as follows: ₱14 minimum fare, ₱33 maximum fare for Stored Value cards while ₱15 – ₱35 for Single Journey Tickets. Entry and Exit on the same station is charged ₱13 for Stored Value Cards. You can check the updated fares here

LRT 1 Schedule for Northbound from Baclaran to Roosevelt is from 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM from Monday to Friday and 4:30 AM to 9:30 PM every Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Meanwhile, the train schedule for southbound from Roosevelt to Baclaran Station 4:30 AM to 10:15 PM from Monday to Friday and 4:30 AM to 9:45 PM every Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Ang minimum na pamasahe sa LRT 1 ay ₱11 para sa Stored Value Cards (Beep), ₱15 para sa Single Journey Ticket at maximum na ₱29 para sa Stored Value Cards (Beep) at ₱30 para sa Single Journey Ticket.

The fare from Antipolo to Recto on LRT Line 2 is ₱28 for stored value and ₱30 for single journey ticket. The cheapest fare is ₱11 for stored value and ₱15 for single journey. The LRT 2 stations from Recto station are Recto, Legarda, Pureza, V Mapa, J ruiz, Gilmore, Betty Go Belmonte, Cubao Araneta Center , Anonas, Katipunan, Santolan, Marikina, and Antipolo. MRT 3 and LRT 2 will meet at Cubao Araneta Station while LRT 1 and LRT 2 will meet at Recto Station.

Ang Pamasahe mula Antipolo papuntang Recto sa LRT Line 2 ay ₱28 kapag stored value at ₱30 naman kapag single journey ticket. Ang pinakamurang pamasahe naman ay ₱11 sa stored value at ₱15 naman sa single journey. Ang mga stasyon ng LRT 2 mula Recto station ay Recto, Legarda, Pureza, V Mapa, J ruiz, Gilmore, Betty Go Belmonte, Cubao Araneta Center, Anonas, Katipunan, Santolan, Marikina, at Antipolo. EDSA Carousel minimum fare is ₱15 for the first 4 km and the maximum fare from PITX to Monumento is ₱75.50. From PITX the bus passes along Macapagal Blvd towards EDSA Heritage Hotel (fare: ₱15), MRT Taft (fare: ₱15), Ayala (fare: ₱17), Buendia (fare: ₱25.50), Guadalupe (fare: ₱27.75), Ortigas (fare: ₱33), Santolan (fare: ₱39.25), Cubao Main Avenue (fare: ₱46), GMA Kamuning Nepa Q Mart (fare: ₱52.25), Quezon Ave (fare: ₱56.50), North Ave Trinoma / SM North (fare: ₱60), Muñoz (fare: ₱64.50), Kaingin (fare: ₱66.75), Balintawak (fare: ₱68.75), Bagong Barrio (fare: ₱70.50) and MCU (fare: ₱75.50).

Most bus accepts CASH and BEEP payment. Once you enter the bus, tap your BEEP card and tap it again before you exit and the fare is deducted automatically. If you forget to tap on your exit, you will be charged full fare on your next entry.

There are NO EDSA Carousel bus stop in Magallanes, Boni Ave and Shaw Blvd. Passengers heading to these location can use the MRT instead.

Karamihan sa bus ay tumatanggap ng CASH at BEEP . Kapag nakapasok ka na sa bus, i-tap ang iyong BEEP card at i-tap itong muli bago ka lumabas at awtomatikong ibabawas ang pamasahe. Kung nakalimutan mong i-tap ang iyong exit, sisingilin ka ng buong pamasahe sa iyong susunod na entry.

BGC Bus Routes Guide: How to Conveniently Commute in BGC

Bonifacio Global City (BGC), one of Metro Manila's major financial and lifestyle districts, has its own public transport system that enables commuters to navigate the area easily and systematically. It's as organized (though not as extensive) as the bus systems in Singapore and Hong Kong—a far cry from the chaotic buses plying along EDSA.

Traveling to BGC for the first time? Not sure how to go to BGC from Ayala? You can't depend on ride-hailing apps to book your ride all the time, especially since they're expensive. It's more practical to commute via the BGC Bus, which is the main bus operator in the area.

You can print out a BGC Bus route map, or you can just bookmark this guide to help you easily navigate the central business district in Taguig City.

How to Commute to BGC

If you want to know how to go to BGC without driving or booking a ride, you must first familiarize yourself with the BGC Bus Terminal. It's the starting point of most bus routes to different parts of BGC.

Easily accessible to commuters via MRT-3 , this bus terminal is located on the corner of EDSA and McKinley Road in Makati City. It's also referred to as the EDSA Ayala BGC Bus terminal.

To get to the BGC Bus Terminal, you can travel via MRT-3, bus, or jeepney. So if you're planning to commute from Makati to BGC, or from Ayala to BGC, here are your three options:

Get off at Ayala Station and walk to the northbound exit (on the right side).

Commuters coming from the North (Caloocan, Quezon City, etc.) can ride a bus bound for MIA or Baclaran (with Ayala Ibabaw sign). Get off at Ayala Avenue and cross EDSA via the MRT Ayala Station.

If you're coming from the South (Las Piñas, Parañaque, etc.), take a bus bound for Cubao, Ortigas, or Fairview (with Ayala Ibabaw sign). Get off at MRT Ayala Station.

If you need to commute from Manila to BGC, you can also ride a bus bound for Ayala Makati and then get off at MRT Ayala Station. Moreover, you can also take LRT-1 southbound to EDSA Station and then the MRT-3 going to Ayala MRT Station.

From Ayala Avenue, take a Washington-Ayala jeep. Get off at the last stop (intersection of EDSA and McKinley Road) and take the pedestrian overpass. Some jeeps cross EDSA, so you might not need to use the overpass to get to the BGC Bus Terminal.

Tip: If you need to go from Alabang to Market! Market! during rush hour, take a P2P bus from Alabang Town Center instead of riding a BGC Bus.

📍 BGC Bus North Route

This BGC Bus route is the only one that stops at BGC Turf and BGC Arts Center. If you're planning to go to one of them or a nearby area, then take the North bus route. Take this route if you need a BGC Bus route to Uptown Mall as well.

📍 BGC Bus West Route

This consists of the BGC Bus Lower West and Upper West routes.

📍 BGC Bus Central Route

This is the only BGC Bus route that starts at Market! Market! and takes passengers to several parts of BGC with eight stopovers. It no longer drops off at the HSBC bus stop, though. So if you need to go there, get off at The Globe Tower stop instead.

📍  Weekend Route
