En este tour recorreremos las avenidas y monumentos de Washington al caer la noche . National Mall, Capitol Hill... Descubriremos los lugares más representativos de la capital cuando se viste de gala.

Pasaremos a recogeros por el hotel a las 19:00 horas y comenzaremos un recorrido en mini-bus por Washington DC al atardecer .

En primer lugar, visitaremos la catedral de San Pedro y San Pablo . Se trata de la catedral nacional de la Iglesia Episcopal y fue construida en un estilo reminiscente del gótico inglés.

Admiraremos las mansiones señoriales que se extienden por Embassy Row , la avenida de las sedes diplomáticas. Washington es la ciudad del mundo con más embajadas , la mayoría instaladas en esta larga avenida.

Durante la visita observaremos la casa donde vive la familia Obama y el hogar de Ivanka Trump antes de entrar en Georgetown . Daremos un agradable paseo por las calles de este barrio colonial lleno de tiendas y cafés hasta llegar a la famosa universidad de Georgetown .

El tour no estaría completo sin acercarnos hasta el Puerto, donde encontraremos monumentos tan emblemáticos como el O belisco, la Casa Blanca, el Capitolio o el monumento a Thomas Jefferson . Tras conocer el puerto de Georgetown, os llevaremos de regreso al hotel a las 22:00 horas.

La actividad se realiza con un guía que habla español, aunque en ocasiones podría hacerse de forma bilingüe.

Pay tribute to the oldest military decoration in the U.S. at the home of its founder, George Washington. 

Join Mount Vernon and members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart for the estate’s official National Purple Heart Day Commemoration Ceremony, which is open to the public.

Free admission for purple heart recipients.

Admission to Mount Vernon is free for Purple Heart Recipients. Purple Heart recipients also receive free admission 365 days a year to Mount Vernon.

Members of the military receive a discount on daytime admission.

For all other guests, the Purple Heart Commemoration ceremony is included with admission to Mount Vernon .

Members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart will join in the estate’s official National Purple Heart Day  Commemoration Ceremony.

The Colonial Singers of Williamsburg will perform before and after the ceremony in Smith Auditorium.

Purple Heart Trail Marker

This marker, dedicated by the Mount Vernon Ladies Association and the Military Order of the Purple Heart on August 7, 1998, commemorates the establishment of the Purple Heart decoration by General George Washington, Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, on August 8, 1782.

Marker is off the traffic circle, northeast of the Texas Gate main entrance to the Mount Vernon estate.

Military Badges

On August 7, 1782, George Washington created three new military badges that would honor the service of ordinary, common soldiers. In these General Orders, Washington outlined the creation of the Badge of Military Merit, the precursor to the Purple Heart.
