  • Visiting Campus

Visiting Mizzou

If you’d like to set up a visit to mizzou, contact the director of graduate studies in the program you’re considering at least two weeks prior to your desired visit date. you can also visit virtually..

If you cannot come to campus, consider taking a virtual tour . Prospective students from underrepresented and underserved minority groups are encouraged to apply for the Tigerview campus visitation program, which is an expenses-paid event held in the fall each year.

Preparing to Visit

Research your program of interest before you get to campus to maximize your time..

Create a list of questions you want to ask. GradSchools.com offers a helpful list of questions you might consider asking.

Meet with faculty.

If you would like to conduct research with a specific faculty member, you can contact them directly before to set up an appointment. Our Academic Programs Catalog provides faculty lists with research areas of interest.

Ask about opportunities to meet with students.

Talk to the director of graduate studies about whether current students have been appointed to meet with visitors like you.

Think about areas of campus you’d like to investigate.

Official campus tours include lots of information specific to undergraduates, similar to the virtual tour linked above, so it might be better to ask the director of graduate studies whether current students or staff from the program have been appointed to give graduate tours.

REPORT: Mizzou, Kansas set date for 2024 Border Showdown

mizzou college visit dates

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Men's Basketball has reportedly set a date with Kansas to renew their storied rivalry in 2024. According to a report from college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, the latest chapter of the Border Showdown is scheduled to be written on Sunday, Dec. 8 at Mizzou Arena.

The upcoming 2024-25 regular season will mark the fourth consecutive year that the two rivals will face each other on the basketball court, following the rivalry's nine-year hiatus that stretched from the 2012-13 season to the 2020-21 campaign.

It will also be the second time that the Border Showdown will be held in Columbia since the rivalry game returned in 2021. MU lost its last home matchup against Kansas 95-67 back in Dec. 2022.

The Tigers will be hunting for their first win over the Jayhawks since Feb. 2012 and aiming to bounce back after a nine-point loss to Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse last season.

Missouri basketball schedule 2024-25: MU adds Mississippi Valley State in nonconference play

mizzou college visit dates

Add another game to the Tigers' slate.

The Columbia Daily Tribune learned through an open records request that Missouri basketball will face Mississippi Valley State on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Mizzou Arena. Mizzou will pay the visitors $100,000 for the game, per the competition contract obtained via the request.

Mizzou faced the Delta Devils in MU coach Dennis Gates’ first season in Columbia, during the 2022-23 campaign. The Tigers won 83-62. MVSU went 1-30 last season.

Through the public records request, the Tribune also confirmed previous reporting by the X (Twitter) account Made for March that Missouri will face Eastern Washington on Nov. 11 and in-state Lindenwood on Nov. 27. Each game also will cost MU a total of $100,000, per the contracts provided, and will be played at Mizzou Arena.

The records also confirmed reporting by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein that Missouri will open its season at Memphis on Nov. 4 — the opening day of the men’s college basketball season.

More: Mizzou basketball’s 2024-25 opening game is reportedly set. Who will play for the Tigers?

Those four games make Mizzou’s nonconference schedule more clear, but do not quite complete the slate.

Missouri is under contract to play Kansas in the Border War in Columbia this season, but a date for the matchup has not been set. The Tigers also will play Illinois in the Braggin’ Rights game in St. Louis, with a reported Sunday, Dec. 22, date set for the matchup, per Rothstein.

The Tigers will face Gates’ alma mater, conference-newcomer California, in the 2024 SEC/ACC challenge on Dec. 3 at Mizzou Arena.

Mizzou is expected to play Minnesota in the return leg of a home-and-home. The Tigers won the first leg on the road last season. Missouri reportedly will play two games in the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, which is likely to be held near Thanksgiving. No details for that multiple-team event have been released.

College basketball bracketologist Rocco Miller reported that Missouri will face Pacific during its nonconference slate, but no contract or details of that game were provided in the Tribune’s records request.

Altogether, that’s 11 confirmed or reported games. Missouri is likely to play 13 nonconference matchups, meaning it has room to add two more games.

The Tigers also already know their SEC opponents, as the conference released the matchups for the 2024-25 campaign.

MU will face the following teams at Mizzou Arena: Alabama; Arkansas; Kentucky; LSU; Ole Miss; Oklahoma; South Carolina; Texas A&M; and Vanderbilt.

Mizzou will travel to face the following teams on the road: Arkansas; Auburn; Florida; Georgia; Mississippi State; Oklahoma; Tennessee; Texas; and Vanderbilt.

The league has not yet released the specific dates for when those games will take place.

Before then, here’s an updated look at how the 2024-25 nonconference slate is looking:

Full updated dates for Missouri basketball’s 2024-25 nonconference schedule

  • Nov. 4: at Memphis
  • Nov. 11: vs. Eastern Washington
  • Nov. 14: vs. Mississippi Valley State

SMU Adds to Future Schedule, Has to Start Two-game Series on Road

Andy hodges | jun 28, 2024.

SMU Mustangs coach Rhett Lashlee before a game between the TCU Horned Frogs and the SMU Mustangs at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, last year.

  • SMU Mustangs
  • Missouri State Bears

DALLAS — SMU added a pair of games against an opponent that is impossible to handicap two years down the road. There have been times Missouri State was a dangerous opponent, but who knows what they will be in the future.

The Mustangs announced games for the 2025 and 2026 season against the Bears. Check back to find out whether to hold off on checking an automatic win. In 2022, Missouri State was a landmine for opponents when Bobby Petrino was the coach.

He's gone now and after a stop at Texas A&M for a year, he's the offensive coordinator at Arkansas heading into his first season. His last year with the Bears was a very good 2022 team and they came really close to beating the Razorbacks in Fayetteville during a 6-6 season.

The Ponies have to travel to Springfield, Mo., for a game Sept. 13, 2025. Missouri State will play it's first home game in their inaugural season at the FBS level, joining Conference USA, where the Bears previously won two West Division Championships.

The Bears will come to Ford Stadium on Sept. 26, 2026. That is expected to be the Mustangs' third season in the ACC.
