Trip to Kumzar by Speedboat

An amazing voyage to kumzar village.

​Kumzar has been inhabited for approximately 500 years, although exact records are difficult. Early Portuguese maps of the area highlight a settlement in the area. Khasab Sea Tours introduce a Trip to Kumzar Village, it takes around one hour to reach Kumzar village from Khasab if you travel by Speed Boat. The journey offers amazing views of Sea Cliffs and Goat Island. This trip is organized upon the request of a customer. It is a Private Speed Boat to Kumzar and you need to book prior to your arrival. Kumzar is a village located in Musandam, the northernmost province of Oman. It is the most northerly inhabited part of the country, located on the Strait of Hormuz. The village is isolated and only accessible by boat. 若者のLUNA SEAファン「SLAVE学園」

5月25日より、結成35周年イヤーを記念した大規模ホールツアーの第1弾「LUNA SEA 35th ANNIVERSARY TOUR 2024 ERA TO ERA -EPISODE 1」をスタートしたLUNA SEA。1989年に結成し、1990年代に「ROSIER」や「I for You」など数々のヒット曲を生み出してトップに上り詰めた彼らだが、最近、若者からの人気が増加しているという。 【画像】最年少は14歳女子!?　学生ファンたちのエモい集合写真

昨年、X上のファン界隈をにぎわせたのが「高校生SLAVE」という聞きなれない言葉。LUNA SEAはファンのことを「SLAVE（スレイブ）」と呼び、オフィシャルファンクラブの名前も「SLAVE」となっている。しかし「高校生SLAVE」とはいったいどういうことか。 実はLUNA SEAを愛する若者のファンたちが、「高校生SLAVE」「SLAVE学園」と称して集まっているのだ。35年も活動をしているだけあって、ファンの年齢層もそれに比例して高まっていたLUNA SEAだけに、今改めて若者ファンがこうして集まってSNSで発信していることは大きな話題を呼んだ。 SLAVE学園は昨年5月、東京都調布市の武蔵野の森スポーツプラザで行なわれたライブ「THE BEST OF LUNA SEA2023」にて、高校生のTAKUYAさん（@TAKUYASLAVE0503）ともう一人同名のTAKUYAさんとで、「僕ら以外の若いSLAVEとも交流したい!」「若いSLAVE同士で交流しやすい環境・関係を作りたい」との想いから発足。そこから数がどんどん増えていき、現在では26人の所帯に。年齢層は、下は中学生から上は20歳前後で、男女比はだいたい7:3（女:男）くらいだ。 「特に活動といえる活動はふだんはないのですが、LUNA SEAのライブの際は集会のような形で会場に来れる人のみで集合しています。その際にみんなでLUNA SEAの魅力について語り合ったり、集合写真を撮ってLUNASEAが若い人にも人気があるということが伝わればいいなという思いでSNSに「 ＃ 」をつけて写真をあげたりしています。ライブ以外ですと、LINEグループがあるため、LUNA SEAから発表があるたびにみんなで興奮を共有したり、気軽にLUNA SEAへの好きを語っていたりしています!」（TAKUYAさん） それにしても、なぜ10代そこそこの彼らが今、LUNA SEAにハマっているのだろうか。LUNA SEAは確かに人気バンドだが、2000年に一度終幕（活動休止）しており、2010年にREBOOT（再始動）。REBOOT後のメディア露出は以前ほど多くないため、なかなか活動に触れる機会も少ないと思われる。 LUNA SEAとの出会い、ハマったきっかけなどについて、SLAVE学園の5人に聞いた。

The Berlin Zoological Gardens

My initial goal when traveling internationally was to visit a zoo in every country.  Unfortuna tely, that goal fell flat, but one zoo I did get to visit was the Berlin Zoo . This zoo was unlike any other zoo I visited and I really enjoyed my time there. I got to see so many animals that I have never been able to see before, including the Giant Panda and the Kiwi ! The Kiwi was mostly just a big shadowy figure though, because it was housed in a nocturnal exhibit, but it still counts. I also did not realize how massive Kiwis are and how little Giant Pandas are until this visit. What was really mind-blowing about this zoo though was how it was so engrossed in nature. Everywhere you looked, there were massive trees, shrubberies, bamboo, and flowers. It was so immersive you wouldn’t have even known you were in Berlin . The zoo even had a medieval tree, which was estimated to be from the 15th century.

What was more interesting was the habitats for their animals. It really seemed like they were doing all that they could to simulate the natural environment of the species they were housing. For the California Sea Lions , the pool in the exhibit had a wave machine, which I had never seen done before. The King Penguin and Rockhopper Penguin exhibit had a built-in ice maker and walking in the building, you could feel the temperature difference. There was even a coastal aviary exhibit that housed birds like SandPipers where there was also a pool that simulated waves splashing on a beach. The aquarium also had some elaborate exhibits that emulated natural environments, most notably, a river exhibit with a strong current. While I was in the World of Birds , I also noticed many native Ohio species, including the Northern Cardinal . It is pretty cool to know that people look at our state bird in this zoo on a daily basis.

 Overall, it was just really interesting to see the different approaches to sustainability, husbandry, and enrichment that different zoos opt for. Prior to the Berlin Zoo, I had never seen an exhibit with waves or an ice machine for Penguins and so seeing these different habitats and how animals interact with them was really eye-opening. I hope to be able to use my experiences here to be an advocate for animals, their needs, and what’s possible, in the future.
