Through five GRAMMY wins and eleven nominations including Album of the Year for 2020’s Djesse Vol. 3 , dozens of collaborations and hundreds of performances, Collier’s talent and imagination have continued to exceed his own stratospheric heights and led his fans to expect the unexpected.

Collier announced Djesse Vol. 4 the day after he headlined the Hollywood Bowl last month, and shared new single “Little Blue” (feat. Brandi Carlile) . Watch the video , and learn more about Djesse Vol. 4 in Billboard or Collier’s recent appearance on the Zach Sang Show .
Djesse has so far included 37 songs, welcoming nearly 25 featured artists, plus gospel choirs, orchestras and more into Collier’s singular world. The list of special guests includes a diverse range of talents, from Ty Dolla $ign, T-Pain, Jessie Reyez and Daniel Caesar to Kimbra, Chris Thile, Rapsody, Tori Kelly, JoJo, Lianne La Havas, Oumou Sangare, Laura Mvula, Steve Vai, gnawa master Hamid Kasri and Take 6. Collier’s recent single “WELLLL” – a crunching slice of rock, pop and punk co-written with Remi Wolf – will also be featured on the new album, as will his GRAMMY-nominated 2022 release, “Never Gonna Be Alone” (feat. Lizzy McAlpine & John Mayer) .
From sweeping orchestral arrangements to intimate folk songwriting, and fusions of R&B, rap and pop, the multitudes of Djesse Vol. 4 are all centered around an ecstatic and global celebration of the human voice. In the midst of working on Djesse , Collier started turning each of his concert audiences into sprawling, improvised choirs. While conducting the crowd at rock clubs and Lincoln Center, even festival fields like Bonnaroo and Glastonbury, droves of fans have all been united in rousing harmony, furthering his guiding belief that everyone in this world is a musician. Having recorded each of his 80+ audience choirs, roughly 150,000 different voices play a role in the story and creation of Djesse Vol. 4 .
Throughout the evolution of Djesse , Jacob Collier’s career has grown to reach tremendous heights as a solo artist headlining the world’s greatest stages, as well as an in-demand collaborator. Djesse has earned Collier three GRAMMY Awards and six nominations. Overall Collier is a 5-time winner and 11-time nominee, making him the first British act in history to win four Grammys for each of his first four albums. In the last twelve months alone his audience choir videos have garnered hundreds of millions of views, he was the first-ever male to be featured as a Vogue Darling, he appeared on the July cover of Rolling Stone UK, and co-wrote and performed on seven tracks of Stormzy’s This Is What I Mean . He has also collaborated extensively with Coldplay and Chris Martin, performing with them on Saturday Night Live in February, as a featured guest at their Wembley Stadium shows last summer, and on their album Music of the Spheres . He has also contributed to major hits including SZA’s “Good Days” and songs by Lizzy McAlpine and Kehlani, and launched a signature line of music-making Crocs. Collier has recorded two NPR Tiny Desks, has spoken at the world-renowned TED conference twice, and has performed on TV shows around the world including the BBC’s Later with Jools Holland, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and more.

About Jacob Collier
Recognized by audiences, critics, and fellow musicians alike as one of the most gifted young artists of modern times, 29-year-old Jacob Collier already has a seemingly endless list of achievements including five Grammy wins along with 11 Grammy nominations including Album of the Year in 2021. As a result, his roster of collaborators is astoundingly varied and vibrant. Jacob’s voice has been featured on recent songs from the likes of Coldplay, SZA, Stormzy, and Kehlani. In his own projects, Collier has worked with an unpredictable cast of artistic powerhouses, from Malian singer Oumou Sangaré to John Mayer, T-Pain, Ty Dolla $ign, Daniel Caesar, and Tori Kelly (to name a few). Exploding onto the global stage with the viral success of his multi-frame, multi-instrumental YouTube covers, Collier caught the attention of Quincy Jones and under his mentorship released his debut album, In My Room , in 2016, which was recorded, produced, and played entirely by Collier. Djesse (his most recent 4-volume album project) has been a natural progression from the one-man process of In My Room , expanding to include collaborators from all over the world. The resulting volumes of Djesse have delivered on Collier’s ambitious promise, featuring an incredible array of artistic peers, and musical themes that encompass everything from orchestral composition to folk songwriting, R&B, rap and pop. Ultimately, although Collier has already achieved more than most artists could hope for in a lifetime, he is still restlessly creative. Alongside the upcoming release of Djesse Vol. 4 , he has plans for future projects centered on solo piano, orchestras, film scoring, teaching, musical theatre, and more.

The best audience experience ever. Never before has someone involved the audience so much in the musical experience. The production quality on this from audio to lighting is masterful. The other 3 musicians were fantastic as well. Such an extravagent show yet theres still many moments of intimacy.

Best concert I've ever attended! Jacob was breathtaking. His band was fantastic and the level of musicianship on the stage was staggering. Would definitely see him again! I hope he plays in Portland again sometime soon.
Jacob was fabulous! He is brilliantly creative, a great jazz artist (and all other genres). Highlights are him singing (unbelievable range and falsetto) and playing piano. Great band. Great sound team (he gave credit to sound technicians, which should be done more often because of how important they are). Electronic effects are amazing. In some ways Jacob reminded me of the next generation of Frank Zappa. Great entertainer, I need to see him again.

Jacob Collier Concert Review: Collier Creates a Home at MGM
On April 24, Jacob Collier and his band wowed the audience with their intricate vocals, multi-instrumental talent, and contagious energy at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. During the show, which marked the fifth stop on his world tour for “Djesse Vol. 4,” the London-born singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer created an immersive musical experience, showing the crowd everything that music has the potential to be.
Kimbra, the New Zealand singer-songwriter and Grammy Award winner best known for her feature on Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” opened for Collier as a solo R&B and pop act.
Collier came out to the stage alone to massive cheers from the audience, opening up with “100,000 Voices,” which features audience members from his past tours. Throughout the first part of his set, he continually built momentum. Whether running across the stage, jumping with his electric guitar, or playing piano with the “J” LED light in the background creating a silhouette of his characteristic spiky hair, his body language conveyed his enthusiasm.
In “Little Blue,” the unexpected jazz notes in Collier’s solo acoustic guitar and his close vocal harmonies with Erin Bentlage helped to convey the tender emotion of the song. After the pair sang a final chorus, Collier got the crowd to sing the final word “home,” making the concert venue everyone’s home for the night.
In Collier’s popular song “Time Alone With You,” his three backup vocalists Erin Bentlage, Lindsey Lomis, and Alita Moses performed intricate vocal runs in harmony as they moved through the rapid chord progressions. Collier made his voice a staccato bass line as he ran across the stage in excitement and sang about “the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world.”
The opening section of the night’s set showed the range of emotions and musical styles which Collier’s music creates and the power of his band, particularly the backup vocalists. With over 100 instruments on stage and a three-tiered set draped in leaves, Collier’s set allowed him to create a range of music.
Under a single spotlight, Collier did a solo acoustic rendition of “The Sun Is In Your Eyes.” After a long and calming classical guitar intro, he played around with silence in between his lines and the riffs he sang at the end of them. With just his voice and his guitar, the musical prodigy showed off his genius, which he continued in his cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” where he used his vocal harmonizer to make his keyboard sound as if the chords were a choir. Collier didn’t take himself too seriously, emitting quiet “yeah”s at the end of some lines and playing around with the volume.
Moses, who was a star throughout the night, came in to support on vocals as the band returned for “In Too Deep” and the disco ball was illuminated for the first time in the show, sending light out across the venue. In “Mi Corazon,” Collier showed off his multi-instrumental talent as he played on a second drum set in a duet with his drummer, then switched back to the Steinway for an extended piano solo.
Taking a break to talk to the audience, Collier shared how much collaboration means to him in his writing. Most of the songs from the night’s set feature other artists in their studio recordings, such as Brandi Carlile, Lizzy McAlpine, and Shawn Mendes. Collier shared how his journey with collaboration taught him to embrace uncertainty and realize how much he does not know, a powerful reminder from a man who knows so much about everything music-related.
After “Witness Me,” Collier guided different sections of the audience to sing different notes to create their own audience choir. Ending with a standing ovation, Collier created the magical atmosphere that makes his shows so famous. His mother, Suzie Collier, came out on violin to accompany a cover of The Beatles’ “Till There Was You,” and the emotional string melody and overlapping piano arpeggios ended with another standing ovation.
“All I Need” and “Over You” were a great upbeat end to the first part of the set. Kimbra came back out in the first encore to do a combo of “Box of Stars Pt. 1/In My Bones/Sleeping on My Dreams” with the band, where the disco ball illuminated the stage, making the concert feel like a party — there were even inflatable tube men on the sides of the stage.
Coming back out alone for a second encore, Collier’s strong vocals in his cover of Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and his solo rendition of “Moon River” on piano finished off the concert in an intimate way.
Collier ended the night by making a heart with his hands to the crowd, leaving the stage having stunned with his musical talent but also with his ability to make a concert hall feel like a close community.

It’s not often one encounters an imagination with the depth and prolificacy of Jacob Collier’s. Dubbed by many as one of the most innovative musicians of his generation, the 25-year-old approaches the world with an inspiring sense of curiosity and wonder.
A self-described autodidact, Jacob taught himself to play over a dozen instruments in his music room in London, guiding his own learning through a multitude of musical genres. In 2012, he began making YouTube videos where he arranged, performed, recorded, filmed and edited densely-layered compositions and arrangements, with his own unique DIY approach. These videos have achieved legendary status in the music world, attracting the praise of such luminaries as Herbie Hancock, David Crosby, Steve Vai, and Quincy Jones, who manages Jacob to this day.
At the end of 2015, Jacob crafted his debut album, In My Room, in his music room at home, which he produced, performed and recorded entirely by himself. The album topped 23 international iTunes Jazz charts and went on to win two Grammys. Jacob is the youngest ever winner in his two categories.
Jacob’s success has lead to television commercials for Samsung, Apple Beats, and Volkswagen. He aided in scoring a film for Dreamworks alongside Hans Zimmer, and performed at Coachella with Hans and Pharrell. In January of 2018, Jacob began designing and creating a recording project on an unprecedented scale – a quadruple album called DJESSE: 50 songs, divided between four volumes, with each operating within a separate musical universe of sound, style and genre. Scattered across the four volumes are 30+ collaborators from across every facet of the music world, including Lianne La Havas, Oumou Sangaré, dodie, JoJo, Steve Vai, and Take 6, to name a few.
