Nice clean hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast had good variety and were different on both days that we stayed at the hotel. Location is a bit off from the main Mangga Besar road, we had our vehicle so was not a problem. Taxis and bajaj are available and plentiful.

This is a small facility located within a neighborhood. The hotel is really clean; you are provided with all amenities you need for a simple day to day living. However, there is a mosque across the hotel and 4:30 in the morning the loudspeakers announce prayer. It was really terrible for me to fall asleep after 4:30 in the morning. The other issue i have with this place is every time i took shower, I end up living the bathroom with burning eyes. I didn't know what the problem until the next day of my stay. I found out the water is salty. I tried to ask the staff. Needless to say, they like most of hotel staff in Jakarta don't speak English. I had to leave the place eventually. If you can put of with the couple of negative things I mentioned, the place is for most part nice.

VERY clean (and not just by Jakarta standards), affordable (usually you would have to pay more in Jakarta) and its a new hotel albeit it is right by a disco but I had no problem sleeping as my room (like most) did not have a window. A word about the area: I felt perfectly fine/safe walking around the area (even at night as Mangga Besar is a very busy street) b/c I used to live in Manila and have been to Jakarta before BUT a newbie to Asia might feel uncomfortable or a bit of culture shock or just feel its a dodgy place. A local Indochinese friend also told me they had cleaned up the area as well as the only red light activities that I saw (like "gentlemen's clubs," spas etc.) were down alleyways which you are NOT going to be walking down anyway - unless you are looking for that sort of activity. A highlight of the area for me though was a local street stand selling fresh Cobra blood a minute walk from the hotel right on Mangga Besar as they keep the live snakes in a cage and they chop off the head of one when someone wants some. Otherwise, there is a shopping mall with a BreadTalk and other coffee shops/fast food a few minutes walk towards the train station. If you know where the Wow Hotel is (note: Online maps all appear to have the Pin in the wrong locations as its less than half a block from the main Mangga Besar road), you can walk to it from the nearby commuter train station in less than 10 minutes instead of taking a Becak while the TransJakarta bus line would be a 10 to 15+ minute walk in the opposite direction. There are also more malls and restos in that area suitable for western travelers b/c most of the eating options on Mangga Besar are more for the locals albeit there are some sit down restos that look ok along with plenty of convenience stores. The hotel is also convenient to Kota as its just the next train stop or a couple of TranJakarta stops away.

if you are travelling with your family it is better ti avoid. There are some good options nearby. Language is the big problem with the staff, they could not speak or understand even basic English but they are trying their best to help you. Condition is you should know how to operate Google translate....... Overall ok

Pros: location is actually pretty good, right near the central train station.

Worst ever hotel I stay in Indonesia. The room is dirty and smelly. Pay for 2 night but move out just after 1 night. No hot water shower, ask the staff and was told to wait for 15 min. Waited 30 min, just litter warm only. Totally unacceptable. Move out and stay in POP hotel even had pay 2 night.

the directions of the hotel was a bit hard to find at first but it is quite near the main road. just tell the taxi driver to turn in at road between uob buana bank and sumi hotel (jalan mangga besar 4) on the main road so it's easy to find. then head straight to a road junction with small 4 story building called komodo militer then turn right and you won't miss it.the facade is plain with the hotel signage and don't expect a spacious lobby, pool and such but just a small reception area.the hotel is a about 5 mins walk from jalan mangga besar mainroad where there are many choice of restaurants and roadside stores. across the main road is lokalisari complex which is a modern shopping mall. bought some cheap dvd's to play in the in room dvd player with lcd tv. the room is of reasonably good size. the bed is very comfortable as they use quality sealy mattreses which is appreciated and small additions like small bar of chocwafer and even instant cup noodle on top of the usual bottled water & coffee/tea. most but not all of the bathrooms have see through glass enclosure so it takes a bit of a getting used to. the ceiling shower head is a good addition to the shower. service and security is adequate & matters attended to in good time. however, management need to be serious in their up keep of the rooms for the future. thanks to the friendly and attentive owner for his advice and directions. overall, my stay was fine and i feel the rooms are good value for money despite lack of big hotel facilities

It is located near to nite life area and when you hungry, just walked out and you can found many local restaurant to fulfill your stomach. Come and try to stay at this budget hotel.

The number of stars this hotel is granted should be reviewed. It is deceptive. In comparision, Oasis Amir is an old hotel - it has issues, but it is a better choice, but it was not available when I did the bookings.

Ru-Jia Indonesia Hotel is not hard to find. It is just across Mangga Besar Train Station. We arrived too early in Jakarta. They allowed as to check-in as early as 6am. How awesome is that? Service crew had trouble with English but that's not a problem at all, they smiled to us every time. Very polite.

Nice and friendly staffs. I booked 5 nights at the hotel. After 2 nights in room #301. I was bitten by bed bugs, I had 6 to 8 bits on my two legs. I requested room change, they put me in room # 103, though the bed bug seem to be gone but there are many flys and mosquitos around. Cheap hotel if you do not mind the cleanliness.
