Playboi Carti Spent 'a Good Four Years' Perfecting New Album

Trending on billboard.

HARDY used that discouragement as fuel, and in “Quit!!,” lays out his journey from struggling Nashville newcomer to writing hit songs for Florida Georgia Line and Morgan Wallen, then coming into his own as an artist and forging new paths with his country -rock hybrid project The Mockingbird & The Crow , which has cemented his current status as a multi-genre hitmaker, thanks to rock chart hits “Jack” and “Sold Out.”

“Thank you for inspiring me to be great,” HARDY said in a statement. “I guess sometimes holding a grudge is a good thing.”

While “Quit!!” details HARDY’s journey, he offered fans a deeper glimpse into this current state with the release of the 22-minute short film Becoming The Crow which released Jan. 11. The Justin Clough-directed project highlighted two 2023 nights — one on Jan. 23 as he played a double-header at The Troubadour and The Roxy, while on Oct. 26, he launched the first night of a three-night stand at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. The film features not only HARDY, but producers Joey Moi and David Garcia, label head and manager Seth England and manager Troy “Tracker” Johnson, HARDY’s band mates, touring camp, and others.

Tickets for the Quit!! tour go on sale Friday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. local time, with select fan pre-sales starting Tuesday, Jan. 16. Buy tickets  here.

ABOUT JAMESON RODGERS

Jameson Rodgers made his name on the road. The hard-touring upstart has spent nearly a decade honing his rowdy live show, whether he’s headlining his own electric sets or opening for the likes of Luke Combs, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan and many more. A  MusicRow  Discovery Artist of the Year winner and iHeartRadio Music Awards nominee, Rodgers immortalized his live show on his latest project  Live from Oxford, MS , recorded at a sold-out show at The Oxford Theatre. Featuring early career standouts like “Midnight Daydream” plus his back-to-back, platinum-certified No. 1 hits “Some Girls” and follow-up smash “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” (originally featuring label mate Combs), the collection captures the raucous atmosphere that has become Rodgers’ calling card. Named to breakthrough artist programs including CMA KixStart and Opry NextStage, Rodgers released his debut album  Bet You’re From A Small Town  in 2021, and recently offered his first taste of new music with the reflective “Things That Matter.” Also an in-demand songwriter, the country traditionalist has co-penned multi-platinum hits for Florida Georgia Line (Top 10 single “Talk You Out of It”) and Chris Lane (No. 1 smash “I Don’t Know About You”), plus deep cuts for Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, and more.

ABOUT BLAME MY YOUTH

Sean Van Vleet has played the biggest of stages (Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Late Show, etc.), went on tour with massive acts (Death Cab for Cutie, Alkaline Trio, Deerhunter, etc.) and worked on songs that appeared in major TV shows, video games, and commercials. So it’s no surprise that as soon as Van Vleet formed Blame My Youth, the rocking quartet immediately saw their first single, “Right Where You Belong,” land as the closing credits theme on the GRAMMY-nominated soundtrack of  Bill & Ted Face the Music , and their follow-up, “Fantastic,” picking up millions of streams and hitting the top 30 on the Active Rock radio charts. After a trio of Danny Wimmer Presents festival appearances announcing their arrival as a band last fall, Blame My Youth spent the summer of 2022 touring across the UK and the US. With their debut  Dance With My Demons  EP, the band continues to work with chart-topping producer Joey Moi and craft the infectious rock songs that spark in the vocalist’s ever-running mind. This collection brings with it the rambunctious singalong tunes Blame My Youth is becoming known for, showcasing a rebellious mix of Van Vleet’s complex emotional lyricism and unforgettable hooks, with each track further solidifying why many believe the band is set to be one of 2023’s breakout artists.

Hardy Announces Quit! Tour With Kip Moore, Travis Denning + More

Hardy  revealed a fiery new song and a spring / summer tour on Friday (Jan. 12). The " Truck Bed " singer will begin his Quit! Tour in May.

  • Kip Moore , Travis Denning , Ella Langley and Stephen Wilson Jr. will split shows in an opening role.
  • The 15-date tour takes him up and down the East Coast, with a few dates in the Midwest.
  • Tickets go on sale on Jan. 19 at 10AM.

Listen To Hardy's New Song, "Quit!":

The new tour's name stems from a just-released song called "Quit!" Hardy tells his story throughout the rising, rap-rock track, beginning with the time someone wrote "Quit" on a napkin and stuffed it in his tip jar.

Over the next two-and-a-half minutes, he recalls getting his first taste of success on Florida Georgia Line and Morgan Wallen records. He also assures fans he won't change his style of music-making for anyone.

"And when it comes to the king / That's the radio / If you don't like my s--t / Don't play it / I don't give a f--k / I'm a still book arenas and fill 'em up," he sings.

There’s No ‘Quit!!’ in Hardy as Country Rocker Announces Summer Tour

  • By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

Hardy will spend the early summer months on the road as the Nashville country rocker has announced his “Quit!!” Tour.

In addition to mapping out the trek’s 15 dates, Hardy has also shared a new spoken word track also called “Quit!!” that harkens back to his 2022 ACM Honors speech, during which he related an incident where someone put a note that read “Quit!!” in the then-fledgling singer’s tip jar.

“Thank you for inspiring me to be great,” Hardy added in a statement to whoever left him that note. “I guess sometimes holding a grudge is a good thing.”

HARDY: Quit!! Tour

With special guests kip moore and travis denning, travis denning, concert information.

Kicking down the door on his next chapter of music, Big Loud Records / Big Loud Rock heavy-hitter HARDY returns today with “QUIT!!,” an autobiographical and referential spoken word track that recaps his journey to becoming "Nashville’s nü-metal king” ( Los Angeles Times ).

Taking “QUIT!!” and more new music to come directly to fans, HARDY also announces today his 15-date summer Quit!! tour which will kick off in May and include a stop in Cincinnati, Ohio at Riverbend Music Center on Thursday, July 25 with special guests Kip Moore and Travis Denning.

Calling back to his infamous 2022 ACM Honors speech accepting his first-ever ACM Songwriter of the Year award, HARDY’s “QUIT!!” continues to push the boundaries wide on his bombastic, genre-less, and wide-reaching appeal. SPIN puts it simply: "For HARDY, a rock-loving country star, shocking his audience in this way is exactly the point."

“Thank you for inspiring me to be great,” HARDY says. “I guess sometimes holding a grudge is a good thing.”

ABOUT HARDY

Big Loud Records' heavy-hitter HARDY has never been just one thing. Kicking down the door on his next chapter of music now, he returns with “QUIT!!,” an autobiographical and referential spoken word track that recaps his journey to becoming "Nashville’s nü-metal king” ( Los Angeles Times ). HARDY soared to new heights in 2023 with the release of critically acclaimed half-country, half-rock sophomore album the mockingbird & THE CROW , adding to nearly four billion career streams. The dichotomous, 17-track effort debuted top five all-genre on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and kinged seven additional Billboard charts in its first week, including Top Country Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Album Sales. The pride of Philadelphia, Miss. has earned his reputation as “a promising purveyor of keeping the spirit of classic heavy Southern rock alive” ( American Songwriter ), “capable of writing the big hits for radio, obstinate enough to do something completely unexpected, and savvy enough to find the throughline for it all” ( Rolling Stone ). A 5X ACM award winner and 2X CMA award winner, HARDY has also won three CMA Triple Play awards, was named the 2022 BMI Country Songwriter of the Year , and is a three-time AIMP Songwriter of the Year. HARDY has written 13 No. 1 singles including his own 2X platinum No. 1 “ONE BEER” feat. Lauren Alaina + Devin Dawson, chart-topping, platinum Dierks Bentley + BRELAND collaboration, “Beers On Me,” and game-changing 2X platinum duet “wait in the truck” feat. Lainey Wilson. He also kinged the rock radio charts with “JACK,” and Top 5 single “SOLD OUT.” He's previously toured with Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, and more, and just announced his 15-date Quit!! tour, headlining amphitheaters and arenas across North America all summer.

ABOUT KIP MOORE

Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Kip Moore recently released his fifth studio album DAMN LOVE, out now. Praised by Holler as “the best album of Kip Moore’s career.” Moore's DAMN LOVE WORLD TOUR in 2023 saw more play sold-out headlining shows - including stadiums - in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, The U.K., Europe, and the U.S. Known as “one of country’s more thoughtful artists” ( Billboard ), Moore has toured the world earning acclaim and a rabid fanbase as an all-in performer in each setting, consistently selling out headlining shows internationally with huge followings. Praised by Noisey as “an uncompromising, genre-defying artist firing on all cylinders” Moore has blazed his trail, with “a bit more Southern rock than traditional country… to be a Kip Moore fan suddenly became a marker of your having a certain refinement in your country-music taste” ( Chicago Tribune ). Moore first splashed into the mainstream with the double-Platinum “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” in 2012, then followed up with three more best-selling No. Ones (“Hey Pretty Girl,” “Beer Money” and “More Girls Like You”).

ABOUT TRAVIS DENNING

A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, singer / songwriter and Mercury Nashville recording artist Travis Denning first made waves with the release of his Top 40 debut single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs,” which has also been certified Gold by the RIAA. He celebrated his first No.1 and Platinum certified single with the “shadowy” ( Rolling Stone ) “After A Few,” from Denning’s debut EP Beer’s Better Cold , which debuted in the Top 20 of Billboard's Country Albums chart. The track “Buy A Girl A Drink,” off the EP Might As Well Be Me is a candlelit confession that features Denning’s tender lyricism, marking Denning’s highest streaming debut to date. His song, “Strawberry Wine And A Cheap Six Pack,” is Denning’s second highest debut and has amassed over 7M global streams. Denning’s songwriting extends to other artists – he has co-written for Morgan Wallen, Michael Ray, Chase Rice, Jason Aldean, and Justin Moore. HARDY 2023 Concert Tour: Dates & Tickets

By Maxim Mower

Following the release of his 2023 album, the mockingbird & THE CROW , HARDY has been introducing fans across the US to his new, metal-inspired sound.

The album is being accompanied by a nation-spanning the mockingbird & THE CROW tour, which will take the lyrical dynamo across states such as New York, Colorado, Oklahoma and more.

HARDY recently confirmed that this would be expanded into his first arena tour, which kicks off in August 2023. Excitingly, this run of dates will be supported by Lainey Wilson and Dylan Marlowe.

Having already gained a reputation for putting on high-octane, electrifying shows, the singer-songwriter's foray into the rockier outer edges of country has only amplified this.

‘wait in the truck’, HARDY's Lainey Wilson-assisted murder ballad, dropped in August and has continued to cause a stir across the industry. The duo recently joined forces for a charismatic, ominous performance of the single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . Attendees will be hoping they take the stage together for a live rendition of the track this Fall.

HARDY spent a large portion of 2022 on the road with Morgan Wallen for his blockbuster Dangerous tour . After he's completed his first run of the mockingbird & THE CROW dates in March, he'll be joining up with Wallen once again for the US leg of his One Night At A Time world tour.

Fans will be hoping they team up for a performance of their new collaboration, ‘In The Bible’, which appears on Wallen's recently released 36-song album, One Thing At A Time .

The PGA TOUR heads to Kentucky for the ISCO Championship, one of two co-sanctioned events with the DP World Tour (along with the Genesis Scottish Open). Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, will once again host the event.

The PGA TOUR uses a standardized system for determining event fields based on the current season’s Priority Ranking while also including additional exemption and qualifying categories.

Field sizes can vary by event, as can the number of event-specific exemptions. Fully exempt PGA TOUR members are guaranteed entry into all full-field events, with various conditional categories subject to periodic reshuffles based upon FedExCup Points accrued throughout the season. Categories with "reshuffle" notation indicate that a reshuffle period has occurred.

Note: An additional year of eligibility was granted to some categories because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jordan Spieth with the winning check during the final round of the John Deere Classic held at TPC Deere Run in 2015

Michael Cohen

Ladies and gentlemen, start your (tractor) engines! The PGA Tour is back in the Quad Cities for the John Deere Classic, featuring two-time event winner Jordan Spieth, last year’s victor Sepp Straka and Jason Day for the first time since 2011.

This will be Spieth’s first time competing in the tournament since 2015, a year in which he also won. So he’s kind of a defending champ along with Straka. The John Deere Classic is also home to the first of Spieth’s 13 tour wins, a 2013 playoff victory over David Hearn and Zach Johnson. The 30-year-old is coming off of a T-63 at the Travelers Championship and is trying to round into form with the Open Championship just a few weeks away.

A year ago, Straka shot a nine-under 62 on Sunday to emerge victorious over Brendon Todd and Alex Smalley—he ultimately won by two shots. It didn’t even matter that he had a double bogey on the 72nd hole. He has a chance to become the first repeat winner at the TPC Deere Run classic since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-’11.

This week's winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.44 million cut of the $8 million purse.

2024 John Deere Classic picks, predictions, odds, field: Golf expert fading Jordan Spieth at TPC Deere Run

Sia nejad reveals his john deere classic 2024 picks, props and sleepers for this week's pga tour event in illinois.

jordan-spieth-usatsi-cbs.jpg

Sungjae Im will look to win his first PGA Tour event in three years when he tees off in the 2024 John Deere Classic beginning Thursday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. The 26-year-old Im, who is ranked No. 29 in the world, has not won on Tour since capturing the Shriners Children's Open in 2021. He has been feast-or-famine over his last six events, with four top-nine finishes and two missed cuts. This week, Im is one of three co-favorites in the 2024 John Deere Classic odds, at +1800. The other two co-favorites are two-time John Deere Classic champion Jordan Spieth and defending champion Sepp Straka.

Aaron Rai (+2200), Maverick McNealy (+2500), Keith Mitchell (+2500) and Denny McCarthy (+2500) round out the top seven choices on the PGA odds board among the 156 John Deere Classic players. Before locking in any John Deere Classic 2024 picks, make sure you  see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad .

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. He also has been solid with his head-to-head matchups since last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, going 50-34-5 and returning 13.22 units over that span. That's a $1,322 profit for $100 bettors since May 2023.

Nejad also nailed Wyndham Clark, a 75-1 longshot, as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship last year. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners.

Now, Nejad has turned his attention to the 2024 John Deere Classic field and locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. See who they are at SportsLine .

Top 2024 John Deere Classic expert picks

One surprise: Nejad is down on the chances of co-favorite Spieth (+1800). A 13-time winner on the PGA Tour, Spieth is in danger of missing the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He ranks 59th in the FedEx Cup standings, and only the top 70 players after the Wyndham Championship in early August will qualify for the Playoffs.

Spieth, a two-time winner at TPC Deere Run, enters the John Deere hoping to recapture some form. He has not finished better than 29th in any tournament since the Valero Texas Open in the first week in April. "His short odds in this tournament are exclusively based on name recognition, and I think he belongs in the +3000 range," Nejad told SportsLine.

However, Nejad is backing 31-year-old PGA Tour veteran and tournament co-favorite Straka (+1800). The defending John Deere Classic champion, Straka is looking to become the first player to successfully defend his John Deere title since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-11. Only three players have won the John Deere in back-to-back seasons.

Nejad believes Straka's game is a good fit for TPC Deere Run. Straka ranks 32nd on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach the green (+0.376) and 33rd in strokes gained: off the tee (+0.333). "He has the kind of spike potential that can provide a Sunday sweat and an outright win," Nejad told SportsLine.  See which other players to back at SportsLine .

How to make 2024 John Deere Classic picks

Nejad has locked in his best bets for the 2024 John Deere Classic and is backing multiple longshots, including one priced at more than +6000. This player "crushes the ball off the tee" and is a longshot who could surprise. You can see Nejad's PGA Tour picks only at SportsLine .

So which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 John Deere Classic, and which player in the John Deere Classic 2024 field could bring a huge payday of more than +6000? Check out the odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Sia Nejad's top picks for the 2024 John Deere Classic, all from the expert who is 50-34-5 on his last 89 golf head-to-head picks .
