Guns N’ Roses Announce Huge 2023 World Tour

Back to prove there's no such thing as too much of a good thing, Guns N' Roses have just announced a huge 2023 world tour.

It's been seven years since Slash and Duff McKagan simultaneously rejoined the group and Guns N' Roses remain one of the biggest (and one of the most lucrative ) concert draws in the world with Axl Rose , Dizzy Reed , Richard Fortus , Frank Ferrer and Melissa Reese rounding out the lineup.

See all of the upcoming tour dates further down the page. Tickets go on sale on Feb. 24 at 10AM local time here  and look for presale tickets to be made available starting Feb. 22 at 10AM local time.

This year has already been quite notable for GN'R and Rose, especially when it comes to the  Use Your Illusion   I  hit song "November Rain." At Lisa Marie Presley 's memorial service, Rose performed a vocal and piano rendition of the track and, three weeks later, the "November Rain" YouTube video surpassed two billion views , becoming the first '90s rock song to achieve that milestone.

Guns N' Roses Announce 2023 Tour Across North America, Europe and Israel — See the Dates!

The rockers last hit North America in 2021

guns n' roses tour 2023 lineup

Guns N' Roses is hitting the road!

The rockers will embark on a lengthy tour in June that will see them play nearly 40 dates across stadiums, arenas and festivals around the world.

The band — which includes Axl Rose , 61, Duff McKagan , 59, and Slash , 57 — will kick things off in Tel Aviv, Israel on June 5 before heading to Europe for 15 concerts.

On Aug. 5, the "November Rain" rockers will head back to North America for 22 more dates before wrapping in Vancouver on Oct. 16. The band last hit North America in 2021, on its We're F'N Back! Tour.

For longtime fans, the end of each show will look a bit different, as Rose announced in December that he will no longer throw his microphone into the crowd after a fan claimed the move injured her.

"It's come to my attention that a fan may have been hurt at r show in Adelaide Australia possibly being hit by the microphone at the end of the show when I traditionally toss the mic to the fans," he wrote on Twitter.

He continued: "Having tossed the mic at the end of r show for over 30 years we always felt it was a known part of the very end of r performance that fans wanted and were aware of to have an opportunity to catch the mic. Regardless in the interest of public safety from now on we'll refrain from tossing the mic or anything to the fans during or at r performance."

Rose recently celebrated his birthday with a heartfelt Twitter message to fans that thanked them for their longtime support.

"I'm very fortunate n' privileged to have such great friends, fans n' people in my life!!" he wrote. "I'm extremely grateful for ALL the people I n' Guns n' Roses r privileged to play for n' all those we meet, know n' work with around the world!! I mean that sincerely from the bottom of my heart n' don't take anyone n' their love, friendship n' support along with any of our success for granted!!"

Presale tickets for the tour will be available on Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, while the general on-sale begins Friday at 10 a.m. local time at gunsnroses.com .

Slash performs onstage with Guns N' Roses

Guns N’ Roses have announced they’ll be hitting the road later this year for a mammoth world tour that will span five months.

Set to kick off at the Park Hayarkon in Tel Aviv, Israel, on June 5, the tour will see Slash and co then make their way through Europe over the course of 15 dates, visiting Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, the UK, Germany, Italy and more.

The European leg of the tour will conclude on July 22 with a performance at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece.

After a few weeks break, GN'R will then get to work on a North American leg of the tour, which will commence on August 5 at the Medavie Blue Cross Stadium in Moncton, Canada. The band will then play shows at Boston’s Fenway Park, Lexington, Kentucky's Rupp Arena, Biloxi’s Mississippi Coast Coliseum and more, before wrapping things up at Vancouver, Canada's BC Place on October 16.

The 2023 world tour will be Guns N’ Roses’ first time on the road since the band’s We’re F’N Back! tour, which concluded last summer.

General sale for all tickets will take place this Friday (February 24) over on the band’s official website.

Whether the band will perform any new material on the upcoming tour remains to be seen, but it’s been just over a year since Slash confirmed Guns N’ Roses would be releasing a new album , and a year since the band released the four-track EP, Hard Skool .

If such a record does arrive this year, it will be the band’s first full-length since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined the fold back in 2016. The current GN'R roster sees Slash and McKagan line up alongside Axl Rose, Richard Fortus and Frank Ferrer.

The band’s 2021 tour contained a handful of notable highlights, including a show-stopping rendition of Paradise City for which the band called upon the six-string services of their support artist, Wolfgang Van Halen .

Guns N’ Roses are taking their revered catalog worldwide. Since early summer, Guns N’ Roses have been traveling the globe on their 2023 World Tour , which launched on June 5 at the scenic Park Hayarkon in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Videos by American Songwriter

The legendary rock band hasn’t stopped since, powering through shows all over Europe including the famous Hyde Park in London, England, and Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece, with stops in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and many others along the way. They are currently trekking across North America from August through October.

Performing nearly 30 songs every night, Guns N’ Roses delivers a hefty dose of beloved classics. The group’s lineup consists of original bandmates frontman Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, along with keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and multi-instrumentalist Melissa Reese.

Fans can expect to hear such classics as “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “ November Rain .” The band also has a few surprises up their sleeves, as there are some cover songs sprinkled in by artists across the board ranging from fellow rockers Velvet Revolver (a supergroup consisting of Guns N’ Roses members Slash, McKagan and Matt Sorum) to folk icon Bob Dylan and country singer Glen Campbell. But GNR also shows love to deep cuts like “Double Talkin’ Jive” off their 1991 album, Use Your Illusion I , and “Reckless Life,” the opening track of their 1986 EP, Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide .

GNR will hold strong through October 16 when the tour wraps in Vancouver, Canada. Along the way, special guests Alice In Chains, Carrie Underwood , Dirty Honey, The Warning and others are serving as opening acts on the North American leg.

Underwood helped kick off the launch of the North American shows on August 5 in Moncton, Canada, before gigs in Montreal on August 8 and Nashville, Tennessee, on August 26. In the interim, The Pretenders open for a string of dates, followed by Dirty Honey, The Warning and Alice In Chains, the latter of whom will be the opening act during the final show.

Axl Rose Superfan Carrie Underwood Will Open for Guns N’ Roses

By Joseph Hudak

Joseph Hudak

After miraculously enticing Axl Rose to join her onstage at Stagecoach 2022 and, yet again , at her L.A. headlining concert earlier this year, Carrie Underwood will return the favor and open for Guns N’ Roses when the band plays Nashville on its summer 2023 tour . Underwood joined the entirety of GNR onstage in London last summer, and it’s a fair bet fans will see her again between Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan in Music City.

In addition to the Nashville appearance at Geodis Park, Underwood will open two Guns N’ Roses shows in Canada. The band, who mostly reunited in 2016, also announced the rest of the openers for their upcoming tour : Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders will support on a string of dates, including a newly announced show at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, while Los Angeles rockers Dirty Honey , grunge icons Alice in Chains, and Mexican sibling trio the Warning each play select shows.

Carrie Underwood Guns N' Roses p

Welcome to the jungle! Carrie Underwood is set to join rock band Guns N’ Roses for three shows on the North American leg of the group’s 2023 Global Tour. Alice in Chains, The Pretenders, The Warning and Dirty Honey are also joining the trek.

Guns N’ Roses Announce Dates For 2023 World Tour

The country star will open for the rockers during two shows in Canada (Aug. 5 in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Aug. 8 in Montreal, Quebec), followed by a show on Aug. 26 in Nashville at GEODIS Park.

Trending on Billboard

Underwood has long incorporated songs from Guns N’ Roses’ classic rock catalog — such as “Welcome to the Jungle” — into her own concert setlists, and welcomed lead singer Axl Rose as her surprise guest during her headlining set at the Stagecoach music festival in 2022 , where the two performed “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Paradise City.”

Later that year, Guns N’ Roses later welcomed Underwood to reprise those same songs during Guns N’ Roses’ London concert.

This marks the first time Guns N’ Roses has toured North America since their We’re F’N Back! Tour in 2021. The tour launches overseas on June 5 in Tel Aviv, Israel, and continues through Europe through July 22, wrapping in Athens, Greece. The band then continues on to North America, starting Aug. 5 for the Moncton, NB show at Medavie Blue Cross Stadium. The tour traverses several U.S. states and wraps on Oct. 16 at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Underwood previously told Jimmy Fallon about meeting Guns N’ Roses for the first time, during one of the band’s concerts in Las Vegas.

“I might have, like, hung out with Axl after the show a little bit!” she joked. “I do always say that it’s hard when you meet your heroes, because I do consider him to be somebody who taught me how to sing, because I loved how he could just do different things with his voice. I was like, ‘I don’t know! If I meet him, and he’s not everything I want him to be…’ But he was. It was great. He was super cool and nice, and we talked — we’re best friends.”

The powerhouse rock band launch this jaunt on June 5th in Tel Aviv, Israel at Park Hayarkon and will continue across Europe through July 22nd, wrapping in Athens, Greece. The band will continue onto North America, starting on Saturday, August 5th in Moncton, NB at Medavie Blue Cross Stadium, and will visit historic venues across the country such as Fenway Park in Boston, MA on August 21st and Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on August 24th. Meanwhile, their now-legendary Not In This Lifetime… Tour from 2016-2019 stands out as the third-highest grossing tour of all time.

Expanding their influence across culture, Guns N’ Roses also notably just sponsored Erik Jones and the No. 43 in the Daytona 500. His race team, Legacy Motor Club is co-owned by NASCAR legends Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson who shared his excitement on Twitter.

In other big news, the cinematic music video for “November Rain” has surpassed two billion views , elevating it to rarified air as one of the most-viewed rock videos of all-time. ABOUT GUNS N’ ROSES:

Guns N’ Roses endure as the most dynamic, dangerous, and definitive American rock band in history to this day. Embedded in popular culture, their landmark diamond-selling 1987 opus, Appetite For Destruction , stands out as “the best-selling U.S. debut album ever” and “the 11 th best-selling U.S. album of all time, ” while their Not In This Lifetime… Tour (2016-2019) ranked as the “fourth-highest grossing concert tour of all time . ” During 1991, Guns N’ Roses shook the world with the one-two punch of the 7x-platinum Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II , clinching the top two spots of the Billboard 200 upon arrival. With total sales of 100 million units thus far, their catalog also consists of G N’ R Lies (5x-platinum), The Spaghetti Incident? (platinum), Greatest Hits (5x-platinum), and Chinese Democracy (platinum). Not to mention, they are one of the most-streamed rock bands in the world with an average of 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Following the reunion of the century, they headlined Coachella and sold 5 million-plus tickets on the Not In This Lifetime… Tour . However, Guns N’ Roses never stop with more touring on the horizon in 2023 and other surprises—the “Nightrain” keeps rolling at full speed.

Guns N’ Roses are Axl Rose (vocals, piano), Duff McKagan (bass), Slash (lead guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), and Melissa Reese (keyboard).

Guns N’ Roses Live Surprises: Debuts and Rarities From 2023 Tour

Guns N' Roses have maintained a largely stable set list since Axl Rose , Slash and Duff McKagan launched their three-fifths reunion tour in 2016, so it's a cause for celebration among fans whenever they shake up things.

The rockers' ongoing 2023 tour has already provided a handful of surprises in the form of album cuts that haven't been played for decades, all-new covers and a few rarely performed epics.  Chinese Democracy  fans have also gotten a few treats so far, with the band subbing in a few of the album's lesser-known gems.

Read on to watch 11 live debuts and rarities from Guns N' Roses' 2023 world tour.

"Bad Obsession,"  Use Your Illusion I (first time since 1993)

Guns N' Roses came out swinging on the first night of their 2023 tour, following up their customary show opener "It's So Easy" with a scorching rendition of  Use Your Illusion I deep cut "Bad Obsession." The greasy slide guitars sounded tough as nails, and Rose sounded confident and commanding in his lower register. No Michael Monroe on harmonica, sadly, but beggars can't be choosers.

"Pretty Tied Up,"  Use Your Illusion II (first time since 1992)

Fans have clamored for GNR to break out "Pretty Tied Up" since they reunited in 2016, and they didn't disappoint when they finally unveiled it at their 2023 tour opener. It was another fitting opportunity for Rose to flex his lower register, while Slash and keyboardist Dizzy Reed sounded particularly fired up on the bluesy, groovy rocker.

"Down on the Farm" (U.K. Subs cover), "The Spaghetti Incident?"  (first time since 2006)

Guns N' Roses have been working  "The Spaghetti Incident?" covers into their sets for the past several years, usually with McKagan taking over lead vocals for the Misfits ' "Attitude" or the Damned's "New Rose." This time, however, Rose is sticking to lead vocal duties for a fiery version of the U.K. Subs' "Down on the Farm." It's a welcome, high-octane change of pace, with Rose gamely applying an exaggerated British accent just like he did on the band's studio cover.

"Anything Goes,"  Appetite for Destruction (first time since 1988)

Guns N' Roses' earth-shattering debut is the most-represented album in their set lists, with seven to eight songs routinely appearing every night. Still, fans freaked out when they unearthed the Side B gem "Anything Goes" for the first time in 35 years. They've now played all but one  Appetite song in their reunion era, with "Think About You" being the lone holdout.

"T.V. Eye" ( The Stooges cover) (live debut)

McKagan still has a lead vocal spotlight on this tour, but he's swapped out some of his old favorites for a fresh cover of the Stooges' "T.V. Eye," off their sophomore album  Fun House . Perhaps the bassist was inspired by his recent contributions to Iggy Pop 's  Every Loser  and performance at the punk legend's tour kickoff in April.

"Nice Boys" (Rose Tattoo cover),  G N' R Lies (first time since 2017)

Guns N' Roses have covered Rose Tattoo's "Nice Boys" only twice since reuniting: once in 2017 and once at their 2023 tour kickoff. Rose Tattoo frontman Angry Anderson joined them for the 2017 performance, making it arguably more memorable, but it still made for a rip-roaring set list addition this year.

"My Michelle," Appetite for Destruction (first time since 2017)

One of the less-represented cuts off  Appetite , "My Michelle" hadn't appeared in Guns N' Roses' set lists since 2017 before their 2023 tour kickoff. It was a live staple that earlier year, with the band playing it at 65 of their 83 shows. It was also a guest star opportunity in 2016, with Sebastian Bach and former GN'R drummer Steven Adler joining the band during a handful of concerts to perform it. They've performed it only at their 2023 tour kickoff so far, but fingers crossed they keep it in semi-regular rotation this year — and maybe share the stage with other high-profile guests in the process.

"There Was a Time," Chinese Democracy  (first time since 2017)

Arguably the centerpiece of  Chinese Democracy , "There Was a Time" is one of the most epic and technically demanding songs in the Guns N' Roses catalog. That's probably why they've played it only a few dozen times in their entire career, including twice in 2016 and eight times in 2017. They dusted it off for the third show of their 2023 world tour in Madrid — hopefully, it won't be the last appearance this year.

"Locomotive," Use Your Illusion II

Another shape-shifting epic from the  Use Your Illusion albums, "Locomotive" ranks among "Coma," "November Rain" and "Estranged" as one of Guns N' Roses' greatest long-form masterpieces. It's also a staggering technical achievement, which is why it was not played for most of their career. They delighted fans when they rolled it out at three shows in 2019, and they've played it three times so far in 2023.

"Prostitute," Chinese Democracy (first time since 2017)

The closing track on  Chinese Democracy is another symphonic rock epic in the vein of "There Was a Time." Guns N' Roses played it a mere 15 times in 2017, and they've begun to work it back into their 2023 set lists. Another welcome addition for hardcore fans.

"Street of Dreams,"  Chinese Democracy

Many Guns N' Roses fans have acknowledged "Street of Dreams" as a  Chinese Democracy highlight since it was floating around file-sharing services with its working title, "The Blues." Despite that, the band's current lineup has barely played it live. After years of anticipation, they finally played it three times in 2022, and they've played it twice on their 2023 tour so far.

John Fogerty Kicks Off Tour With George Thorogood: Set Lists

"Guns N' Roses are trying to make their own record and I'm working with them in that capacity": Slash reveals new material is underway

There is movement in the GNR camp, though don’t hold your breath

Slash and Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses

Guns N’ Roses are working on a new album. Or at least they are “trying” to. That’s according to no less an authority than Slash himself.

This revelation came up when the top-hatted one discussed his new Orgy Of The Damned record with the Daily Star . He explained that Myles Kennedy , who has played with Slash in his Conspirators project wasn’t guesting on the record: “It was my own side thing, so I wasn’t dragging my own guys in.”

“ Guns N' Roses are trying to make their own record and I'm working with them in that capacity but this didn't involve anyone else."

It’s been eight whole years since Slash reunited with Axl Rose and Duff McKagan from the classic line up for the Not In This Lifetime… Tour in 2016. Since then the band have toured extensively and both Rose and Slash have teased the possibility of brand new material on numerous occasions, though in October 2021 the latter admitted: “As far as new Guns is concerned; we haven’t even gotten to that point of really in earnest sitting down and writing.”

His latest comments suggest that there has been some movement, at least.

Of course, the band have released a number of one off singles over the past three years, but Absurd and Hard Skool from 2021 and Perhaps and The General were all offcuts from the Chinese Democracy sessions in the late 1990s.

In the meantime, Slash’s Orgy Of The Damned album was released last week. It’s a blues covers project, though one that’s flexible enough to find a place for Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone and Stevie Wonder’s Living For The City.

There are a glittering array of vocal collaborators too, including Brian Johnson, Iggy Pop, Steven Tyler, Beth Hart, Paul Rodgers, Billy Gibbons and Chris Robinson. But as he pointed out, no Myles Kennedy, and no Axl.

The 30th anniversary of the last Guns N’ Roses album to feature both its iconic guitarist and frontman passed last year. The Spaghetti Incident? was released in November 1993 and it would take Axl Rose fifteen years, thirteen separate studios, four credited guitarists and an estimated $13 million to complete its follow up, Chinese Democracy, the most expensive album in the history of recording.

In that context the news that the reunited GNR are currently ‘trying’ to make a new album should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt...

Orgy Of The Damned is out now on Gibson Records.

The Guns N’ Roses bassist shared the news on social media yesterday (May 31) with a video statement, where he also announced the release of his concert video Tenderness: Live From Los Angeles on YouTube. See tour dates and watch the film below.

The film was captured in 2019 while McKagan was on tour with his live band – which includes country star Shooter Jennings – at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre. McKagan was in support of his second solo album ‘Tenderness’, released the same year.

On this forthcoming 2024 tour, which supports his 2023 effort ‘Lighthouse’, McKagan will return to the same Los Angeles venue on November 13.

Tenderness: Live From Los Angeles will also be issued on vinyl and CD on June 28, with pre-orders live on his official merch store .

NOVEMBER 4 – Boston, Massacussetts – The Paradise Rock Club 6 – New York, New York – Le Poisson Rouge 8 – Chicago, Illinois – Outset 10 – Denver, Colorado – The Bluebird 13 – Los Angeles, California – El Rey Theatre 18 – Portland, Oregon – Aladdin Theater 20 – Seattle, Washington – The Showbox

Prior to this US tour, McKagan will embark on a tour in UK and Europe, which will begin on September 30 at the Dublin Academy in Ireland.

‘Lighthouse’, which is his third album following 1993’s ‘Believe In Me’ and 2019’s ‘Tenderness’, featured guest appearances by Iggy Pop , Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, and longtime Guns N’ Roses bandmate Slash , among others.

In March, McKagan shared how Iggy Pop helped him through a “bad mushroom trip” when he was a teenager. “I went to an Iggy show way too high on mushrooms, thinking I was going to have to go to the hospital, freaking out,” he said on a podcast.

“I just watched Iggy the whole, just tripping way too much on psychedelics. But he brought me down. And I was already a big Iggy fan, but then I was like, he means more to me. He’s a waypoint for me in my life.”
