Grand Seattle City Tour with Airport Drop-Off - offering from Celebrity - questions

Cool Cruiser

This tour is on "flash sale" right now, and appears to include a SEA city tour ending at the airport.

It says that it will work for flights leaving at 3pm or later - yet the tour reads that it goes from 8am to noon.  If I were to book this, and have, say, a 2:30pm domestic flight home, I'd still be ok, right?  Especially if I'd already given my luggage to the Valet service (forget what it's called now)?

Also I'm reading that many times the ship is not clear in Seattle until 8-9am.  In those cases, does the tour wait for everyone, do they shorten the duration, do they cancel, how do they handle that?

Alternatively, the other tour that includes Chihuly Gardens + Space Needle seems to recommend flights leaving 2pm or later, yet it ALSO ends at noon.  So I'm a bit confused.  Even on flash sale, the price of this one seems to be a LOT more than just paying for the garden/needle combo ticket and then ubering to the airport. Am I missing anything?

  • Chevron down 1. Downtown Area

The tour begins in Seattle’s bustling downtown core, highlighting the Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Shopping District, and the world’s first Starbucks.

  • Chevron down 2. Pioneer Square & Stadium District

Seattle’s original downtown is now a 35-square-block historic district filled with turn-of-the-century Romanesque architecture, art galleries, and trendy restaurants, all of which border the sports stadiums for the Seahawks, Sounders, and Mariners.

  • Chevron down 3. International District & Waterfront

Home to Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Cambodian, and Hmong communities, this neighborhood continues to play a role in Seattle’s multicultural identity. Seattle’s waterfront includes the aquarium, Ferris wheel, classic seafood restaurants, funky souvenir shops, historic piers, and ferry and water taxi terminals.

  • Chevron down 4. Seattle Center & Queen Anne View Point

The Seattle Center is a 72-acre urban park and is the site of the 1962 World’s Fair. It’s the home of the Space Needle, Paul Allen’s Experience Music Project, Dale Chihuly’s Garden and Glass exhibition, and the Pacific Science Center.

Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill provides a dramatic panoramic photo opportunity of Seattle’s skyline. You also view the spectacular architecture and aesthetic in one of the city’s more exclusive, old-money neighborhoods.

  • Chevron down 5. Fremont Neighborhood & Magnolia Bluff

Fremont neighborhood, famous for its outdoor art and nude bicyclists in the Summer Solstice parade, is also a microcosm of the challenges Seattle faces as it grapples with growth. This once-quirky bohemian artist colony is now transforming into a high-tech powerhouse with offices for Google, Tableau, and Adobe while remaining true to its artsy roots.

The views just keep coming! Along with our stop in Fremont, we visit the rocky peaks and grassy knolls of Magnolia Bluff. This northwest Seattle neighborhood sits atop a peninsula looking out upon Elliott Bay. Watch ferries and boats float across the water, with West Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and even majestic Mt. Rainier in the distance on a clear day.

  • Hotel pick-ups commence prior to the tour’s departure time. You should receive an updated email confirmation that includes your hotel pick-up time in the Pickup Location section. If your confirmation doesn’t include your hotel information, contact our office immediately to confirm your pick-up time.
  • Please note there are a handful of hotels in downtown Seattle who don’t offer a safe loading zone for our coaches and therefore, we cannot pickup directly from those hotels. You may be asked to meet at a nearby hotel if this is the case.
  • Please allow up to 15 minutes for your driver to pick you up from your scheduled pick-up time. As well, allow extra time for hotel pick-up and return.
  • Please note that traffic and weather conditions can affect the routes for this tour. Traffic can be a challenge in Seattle, especially from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. To speed up drop-off and hotel return, our most popular drop-off locations are the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and Pioneer Square. If we don’t return to your hotel, these will be your drop-off options, including downtown Seattle.
  • Gratuities are optional and not included in the price of your tour. If you feel your tour guide has provided an exceptional experience, gratuities are encouraged— and welcomed — at the end of the trip.

Anybody do this excursion on disembarkation day? Curious our plane leaves right at 2:30 which is the earliest you can do this excursion. Does it allow enough time at the airport? Is it mainly a bus tour? If you have experience with it, share your thoughts.

I've seen some posts recently on this option. Usually the suggestion is to take your luggage to Barrachinas Restaurant to hold while you tour town before your flight. But this sounded like a great option and had two different times available to take you to SJU...Sounded like a DIY with transportation. Hope you can find the times it looked pretty good to me.

We did this, offered through Royal Caribbean. Fair warning, it's been 4 years since then! We really enjoyed this tour. It is mostly a bus tour, but the bus itself was on the smaller end and allowed for easy viewing. I remember very much enjoying the guide. We also had some time at San Cristobal. I remember it as being one of the better bus tours we have ever done. Hope that helps!

JUST TRIPPIN'

JUST TRIPPIN'

We did this tour in March 2020.  You simply walked off of the ship and there were reps waiting to take you on your tour.  I believe we paid $30 pp.  You visited Condado area, then OSJ.  You had the option to self tour or as we did, go for lunch.  Those with earlier flights went to the airport.  The driver then returned to pick up the remaining passengers and bring us to the airport.  Very flexible tour.  The van held roughly 12-15 people and your luggage is stored safely in the back.  Nice commentary throughout tour.  We use this tour everytime while in San Juan due to our 4-5pm flights.

Thanks
