Comedian Dave Chappelle bringing comedy show to Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Comedian Dave Chappelle is bringing his stand-up comedy show to Pittsburgh this summer. 

Chappelle will come to PPG Paints Arena on June 1.

PPG Paints Arena said no cellphones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at the show. All phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show, a press release said. Anyone caught with a phone will be ejected. 

Tickets  go on sale on April 28 at 10 a.m.

PITTSBURGH – Dave Chappelle will look for laughs June 1 at PPG Paints Arena.

Tickets to the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster.com. A Live Nation presale starts at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The award-winning comedian, actor, screenwriter and producer's stand-up comedy show stipulates no cellphones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at the show .  Upon arrival, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of their phones throughout the night and, if needed, may access their phones at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby. Anyone caught with a cellphone in the venue will be immediately ejected.

In 2019, Chappelle received the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Chappelle’s work has earned him more than 30 nominations and awards in television and film for projects that include his groundbreaking sketch comedy television series “Chappelle’s Show” ,  comedy specials, and guest appearances on “Saturday Night Live.”

PITTSBURGH — Dave Chappelle has announced that he will hold a show in Pittsburgh.

Chappelle will visit Pittsburgh on June 1 at PPG Paints Arena.

Tickets will go on sale with Live Nation on April 27 at 10 a.m. and on Ticketmaster on April 28 at 10 a.m.

Guests will not be allowed to have their phones, cameras, or any other recording devices during the performance. They will be placed in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the show’s end.

Dave Chappelle tour 2024 announced : Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, two of the most successful comedians of all time, announced plans to join forces for a US tour in December. Tour dates will focus on the West Coast and will take place almost exclusively in venues in the state of California. Although both artists are regularly engaged in other shows, the tour will kick off at the Viejas Arena in San Diego on December 1 and will end two weeks later at the Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms. Other stops include the Honda Center (Anaheim), the SAP Center (San Jose), the Chase Center (San Francisco), and the Golden 1 Center (Sacramento), as well as the Footprint Center in Phoenix - the only non-californian show currently scheduled.

Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock teamed up for a successful European tour, bringing together two of the most beloved comedians of all time. Rock is a veteran of Saturday Night Live and films such as Grown Ups and Dogma, as well as television series, including his participation in the HBO Chris Rock Show and the latest Fargo fiction. Chappelle performed as a high school student in Washington, D.C. and gained popularity with the film Half Baked and the hugely successful Chappelle Show. He was recently awarded the 2019 Mark Twain Award for American Humour.

Dave Chappelle 2024 tickets for the show are now on sale, available to the public from Friday, October 21. The presale for all shows will be launched Thursday, October 20 at 13.00 ET/10.00 PT.

Comedy’s king of controversy is going on a short tour.

From May 31 through June 2, Dave Chappelle is set to perform at three huge venues in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

First, the “Half Baked” star will drop into Charleston, WV’s Charleston Municipal Auditorium on Wednesday, May 31.

After that, he’s set to headline at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena on Thursday, June 1.

Finally, he wrap up the brief run at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center with Philly natives The Roots joining him on Friday, June 2.

After an explosive and contentious Netflix special in 2021, Dave Chappelle is hitting the road again.

The veteran comedian has announced the dates for a fall stand-up comedy tour, titled “Dave Chappelle Live,” which will open with twin dates at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Aug. 22-23 and conclude at Chicago’s United Center on Oct. 4.

Chappelle has been a controversial figure following his 2021 Netflix special “The Closer,” in which he made jokes about transgender people, leading to  company walkouts  and protests last October. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos originally defended Chappelle, saying in statement that the comedian is “one of the most popular stand-ups today” and “as with our other talent, we work hard to support their creative freedom — even though this means there will always be content on Netflix some people believe is harmful.” Sarandos ultimately said he “screwed up” in his reaction to the Chappelle backlash.

The comedian made headlines again in 2022 when he was attacked on stage  while performing a comedy set during the Netflix Is a Joke festival in Los Angeles.

Dave Chappelle announces July shows in Yellow Springs, Ohio

C OLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Comedian Dave Chappelle has scheduled three upcoming outdoor shows at the Wirrig Pavilion in his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Entertainment company Live Nation announced the July engagements on social media.

“A-maize-ing news! Dave Chappelle and Friends are returning to the cornfields of Yellow Springs Ohio for three hometown shows at the Wirrig Pavilion on July 3, 5, and 6!” the post read. “Tickets for Summer Camp 2024 go on sale Friday, June 21 at 12pm ET”

The performances, officially titled “Dave Chappelle & Friends,” will be held on Wednesday, July 3, Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6. All shows will start at 8:30 p.m.

As with previous events, this will be a cellphone-free show. Attendees must agree to place their phones in a locked pouch which they get to keep throughout the evening. To use a phone during the event, audience members must return to a tent at the entrance, or face being immediately ejected.

Chappelle’s  summer comedy tradition in Yellow Springs  began in 2020 with socially distanced shows. The live outdoor performances were known as “Chappelle Summer Camp,” featuring Chappelle and other famous comedians.

Tickets for the July performances go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 21 at noon. Presale tickets will be available on Thursday, June 20 at 10 a.m.

Award-winning American comedian, actor, screenwriter, and producer of television and film Dave Chappelle has announced his return to the cornfields of Yellow Springs, OH, for three hometown shows at the Wirrig Pavilion on July 3, 5, and 6 . The performances, billed as Dave Chappelle and Friends, originated as Chappelle’s response to provide economic and comedic relief during the pandemic. They have since garnered national attention and attracted fans from all over the country.

Tickets will be available starting with various local presales beginning on Thursday, June 20. The general onsale will begin on Friday, June 21 at 12 p.m. local at ticketmaster.com .

This event will be a phone-free experience. Use of phones, smart watches and accessories will not be permitted in the performance space. Upon arrival at the venue, all phones, smart watches and accessories will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their devices at all times, and can access them throughout the event only in designated Phone Use Areas within the venue. Dave Chappelle is returning to the cornfields of Yellow Springs, Ohio in July for a series of comedy shows.

Billed as coming from “Dave Chappelle and Friends,” the performances will bring the comedian back to Wirrig Pavilion on July 3rd, 5th, and 6th. He first hosted socially distanced shows at the outdoor venue during the early days of the pandemic.

A Live Nation pre-sale will take place on Thursday, June 20th (use access code CHORD ) ahead of the general on-sale on Friday, June 21st via Ticketmaster .

Once tickets go on sale, you can look for deals and sold-out tickets at StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Chappelle’s latest Netflix standup special,  The Dreamer , was released on the streamer in December 2023. A few months before that, he condemned Israel’s attacks on “innocent women and children” in Gaza, saying, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

Dave Chappelle announces Yellow Springs comedy shows

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WKRC) - Comedian Dave Chappelle will return to the stage in Yellow Springs for three hometown shows on July 3, 5, and 6.

The show is billed as "Dave Chappelle and Friends," the series he created to provide economic and comedic relief during the pandemic. The group has since gained national attention and attracts fans from across the country.

Chappelle and other comics will perform at the Wirrig Pavilion and tickets go on local presale Thursday and then the general on-sale Friday at 12 p.m. on ticketmaster.com .

Chappelle, the 2019 recipient of the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, has earned him more than 30 nominations and awards in television and film for projects that include his sketch comedy television series “Chappelle’s Show.”
