Edmonton, Canada Cruises

In its role as the provincial capital, Edmonton boasts beautiful and grand legislative buildings. This, combined with its natural setting along the North Saskatchewan River, which creates a ribbon of forests and parks that stretches almost 50 kilometers across North America , makes the city an attractive getaway destination for the weekend. Several parks, trails, and golf courses on both sides of the river are popular with residents and visitors. A lot of work has been put into making Edmonton a foodie destination .

Highlights of Edmonton

The city of Edmonton, located on the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta, is a historic Canadian city. Everyone will find something to enjoy at the destination. It is, therefore, a good idea to know the destination's highlights before departing.

1. Fun Festivals

There are several festivals and performances at Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton. Edmonton International Street Performer's Festival takes place in July and the Works Art & Design Festival in June-July. The Edmonton International Fringe Festival, K-Days, Sourdough Raft Races, and the Canadian Finals Rodeo are significant festivals and events in Edmonton.

2. Endless Food Options

Edmonton offers a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, from food trucks to fine dining restaurants. Many shops, restaurants, and bars are downtown Edmonton, Whyte Avenue in Old Strathcona, and 124th Street. A variety of food is served from truck stalls on the streets, including vegan sandwiches, gluten-free gravy, soups, butter chicken , pork, and sausages.

3. It's Easy to Navigate

Generally, Edmonton's city streets ran south-to-north and east-to-west. On two wheels, a bicycle and pedestrian trail network of around 200 kilometers makes it a fun city to explore. The Light Rail Transit system connects 18 stations throughout the city. Bus services are also available in various neighborhoods via a fleet of buses.

Interesting Spot to Visit in Edmonton

With a warm feeling of hospitality, the city's residents welcome everyone. Edmonton offers lots of things to do, from visiting the largest living history museum in Canada to strolling through the most famous historical park in the world. The city will surely enchant your senses not only with its enthralling sports teams but also with its stunning architecture. However, it remains to be asked where to begin and what steps should be taken? Here are the answers you're looking for.

1. Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village

An open-air museum was established along Yellowhead Highway in the 1970s to preserve the culture of Ukrainian and Bukovina immigrants. Several historic buildings have been rebuilt in this locality, referred to as "the Village," and a Ukrainian church's onion dome stands out from afar. An old-fashioned general store, a blacksmith, a market, and a blacksmith are among the many living history elements you can discover. In addition to the settlers' stories, you'll also be able to interact with the costumed guides. Consider scheduling your visit around a cooking demonstration, harvest celebration, or Ukrainian national day commemoration, if possible.

2. High-Level Bridge Streetcar

As an essential part of Edmonton's heritage, the High-Level Bridge Streetcar is run by the Edmonton Radial Railroad Society. A streetcar ride over the North Saskatchewan River became one of the most famous streetcars ever when they were first introduced in Edmonton in 1908. In Strathcona's Streetcar Barn, a small streetcar museum exhibits old photographs, uniforms, tickets, and model streetcars to illustrate the streetcar's colorful history. Experience a ride across the High-Level Bridge on the fully restored 1912 Edmonton Streetcar #33.

3. Elk Island National Park

Visit Elk Island National Park if you want a beautiful slice of nature. It's a great place to spot wildlife, stargaze, watch the Northern Lights, and camp near a wooded area with lakes and wetlands. Over 250 species of birds and bison live here. The summer months are the best times to camp at the park, and it is open year-round. The winter months offer cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and canoeing. There are also dark sky preserves, bird sanctuaries, and wilderness centers in Beaver Hills, now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

4. Downtown Edmonton

The area has a lot going for it despite its reputation as a bad place in recent years (mainly because of a lack of parking and homelessness issues). Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton is dominated by City Hall, the Art Gallery of Alberta, and Stanley Milner Library. Several nearby attractions include the Royal Alberta Museum, Downtown Farmers Market, and Ice District, Edmonton's sprawling new hockey arena.

5. River Valley Park

The River Valley Park is an amalgamation of twenty different parks, so don't say going to the park is boring before you do. Several nature centers, golf courses, and lakes can be found here. There are ten lakes, twenty ravines, and several nature centers. Here's an excellent spot for you and your loved ones to enjoy a picnic. People can be socialized with and connected with. Several Edmonton activities are available according to the season. Winter skiing and hiking are available, while summer hiking and camping are popular.

When to Visit Edmonton?

During the summer months of June through September, Edmonton has a humid continental climate, while the winter season lasts from November through March. During the Fall and Spring seasons, temperatures are mild and short. If you plan to visit Edmonton during the summer, consider going between June and August. During this period, the city has several major festivals, and the weather is mild.

Edmonton's Cruise Agency

A message from Ron McDonald, President of THE CRUISE PLACE.

I am heartbroken to see and hear how COVID-19 has affected our world emotionally, physically and economically.

With any great challenges, there are  positive opportunities that arise. There seems to be a renewed sense of people supporting Edmonton’s  businesses and the many workers that are employed at our local retailers. Nowhere have these challenges been felt more than in the travel industry. THE CRUISE PLACE opened it’s doors in November of 2005 on Jasper Avenue and we have continued to provide capable assistance to Edmonton’s travelling public since that day.

With our world moving toward a renewed sense of normalcy, we are excited to get back to work and provide our many clients with assistance and advice when making plans to book a cruise vacation. We feel it is now more important than ever to enlist the services of a Travel Agent when considering a cruise vacation. We will make sure that your cruise is enjoyable, safe, and booked with all the necessary care and consideration that it deserves. You can be certain that we will help negotiate  through all the  policies and procedures that are required to ensure your vacation the best ever.

Give us a call…you’ll be glad you did.

Expedia Cruises: Reviews

Fantastic experience: This was our first river cruise booking and Lissa Antflick, our cruise consultant, provided detailed and prompt responses to all of our inquiries. She took the time to speak with us to assess what vendors, cruise options, land packages would suit us best. Lissa also made herself available when our return flight was cancelled to provide advise whilst she herself was on vacation. Our first river cruise was a memorable, life rewarding experience thanks to Lissa's excellent client service. Thanks. Lissa!!

Fantastic experience: Lisa is very professional and is intuitive to the type of cruise we want. All arrangements through Expedia/Lisa are seem less. We enjoy our travels more knowing arrangements have been taken care of.

Fantastic experience: Expedia Cruises provided excellent service. They needed to coordinate travel for 5 people from 3 different cities, and did that seamlessly. The experience, tips and suggestions we got from Randy saved us from a ton of frustration, line ups and expense in many of the ports that we visited. The pre-cruise and post-cruise hotel bookings were all problem free, and we knew beforehand exactly how much we were paying. We highly recommend them to everyone

Fantastic experience: We've been dealing with Lissa for 14+ years. She has helped us in every conceivable way navigating the complexities of travel. She will pick up the phone any time we need her. Expedia Cruises is an amazing team of people, and Lissa makes our holidays trouble free. Tim and Joyce Becker.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been booking our cruises with Lissa for many years and would highly recommend her as she is very knowledgeable & professional. Lissa always checks in before our trips to see if we have any questions and also follows up after our trips. As a result, she knows what we enjoy best and can recommend future trips accordingly.

Fantastic experience: Lissa is a fantastic agent. She is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and she is always available. Lissa doesn’t sleep. She waits for your email. We have emailed her at ridiculous times, and she responds! Anyway, we highly recommend Lissa due to her experience and knowledge in the travel industry.

Fantastic experience: We have been able to take a lot of trips and work with good people but I have never had the fantastic experience we have had and are continuing to have with Expedia Cruises. We live in Washington State but we have Lissa at Expedia Cruises do all our planning and travel plans. She never misses to keep us informed and make suggestions on our trips that really work well.

Fantastic experience: Amanda Mackintosh is a brilliant travel agent for Expedia. She picked the perfect cruise line for our tour of Norway. She secured our connections and shared excellent advice and recommendations. Very highly recommended!!

Fantastic experience: Amanda Cummings was our Expedia Cruises Vacation Consultant. Amanda provided excellent professional knowledge and advice for our past Caribbean cruise. It is especially appreciated with all Amanda's efforts and assistance with our delays and cancellations on our flights home following our cruise. We very much enjoyed the cruise. Thank you Amanda. Ruth & Ray.

Fantastic experience: Randy and his team are exceptional at what they do. We told Randy what we were looking for and he set up and made our vacation to Mexico happen. Absolutely no issues with Randy and Expedia Cruises. We will definitely be using their services again without hesitation. Can not speak more highly of them. Thanks for making our vacation happen! Jeff and Dee-Anne Crozier

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a family trip for 13 people and within a budget. I was looking for a few months online with no luck and felt very stress. I have tried different platform to seek for help/assistance . I’ve also spoken to 3 other travel agents, sadly some were charging and some just was forceful that left a sour taste in my mouth. Well every story ends with a happy ending! Mine was meeting Craig Featherstone. What an incredibly amazing humble man who made my searching so much easier and was very helpful when it comes to making my budget fit. He is not going to force you and he has a genuine desire to make your vacation plans a dream. You wouldn’t regret getting help from him. He is a blessing. Let the expert do what they’re good at. And that’s making your life easy when it comes to planning your holiday!

Fantastic experience: Randy and his team were very helpful in planning our travels. When we ended up having to cancel at the last minute due to COVID, Randy handled all the cancellations for us and took away a lot of stress for us. He was a great help in navigating the claims process and rebooking us on a cruise to replace the one that we had to cancel. Highly recommend Randy and his team.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I just returned from Sky Princess, a trip Amanda Cummings booked for us. We didn’t realize how much Amanda spoiled us until we compared our experience with two other couples we vacationed with. They didn’t receive anywhere close to the service we got (and had problem after problem.) 1. Booking: from start to finish, Amanda graciously and patiently compared cruises, looking for the best prices, options and amenities. We considered upgrading to a Beverage/wifi package, but when we told her we barely drink alcohol, she said just to pay a la carte. I appreciated her honest opinion and found that she was trustworthy and genuine throughout. 2. Insurance: due to the unpredictability of the airlines lately, we felt the need to buy insurance. Amanda put us in touch with Kristen Duhaime. She set us up with a fantastic program with Manulife whereby once you register your flight, it will detect any delays over 3 hours and automatically pay compensation into your account. Wowza! We didn’t need to use it, but when our luggage went missing, Kristen and Amanda immediately contacted us to help. 3. Extras: Amanda seems to know precisely when to send reminders and documents. She also sent cards and phoned to ensure we were ready and excited to go. Her aftercare was just as impressive. A card greeted us in the mail when we got home, and later, she and I had a wonderful chat to compare experiences. I have been on over 11 cruises, and I have to say that Amanda Cummings is the best I’ve dealt with. We are already looking for our next cruise, and Amanda will be the one we call. My fellow vacationers will also be using her. They couldn’t believe the level of service Amanda provided compared to their booking agent. Can’t say enough. What a wonderful experience. Thanks Amanda!!

Fantastic experience: Randy Tywoniuk and the crew at Expedia Cruises in Edmonton did a great deal of work to coordinate a family vacation for 25 people from 4 different cities to Mexico over the Christmas and New Years during the worst travel weather in 50 years!! They were responsive, answered countless questions and went more than the extra mile to make this the best holiday ever! Highly recommend this agency!

Fantastic experience: I have used Kristen for both business and personal travel, she has been super helpful and easy to deal with.

Fantastic experience: We dealt with Lorna Gant for booking our Mediterranean Cruise. She was very helpful and knowledgable. She made sure we were well taken care of and went over and above to make our vacation stress free and an amazing experience.

Fantastic experience: We booked our cruise with Garry last year and let me tell you, it was the best service we have received. He went through every little detail and talked about pros/cons and what he thought we may/not like. Another thing which I loved, he touched base with us after the holiday. He genuinely cared. The best!!

Fantastic experience: We would highly recommend Kristen for all your travel needs. She is highly responsive, quick to answer all our questions, and has been very reliable when it comes to booking our travel over the last few years. She is very organized helping us coordinate travel for large groups and is able to make adjustments when required. Once again, we could not recommend her enough.

Fantastic experience: Lissa Antflick always provides exceptional service and the best prices on cruises. I have been using Lissa for years and she is very efficient, and checks in with a phone call before and after every cruise. I wouldn’t think of using another travel agent.

Fantastic experience: I have been cruising for almost 40 years and have never had such an efficient and friendly agent. Teresa always goes out of her way to arrange transfers from the airport to the cruise port for all of our vacations. She always tries to get the best cabin for the best price for me. During the pandemic she was on top of all the covid rules and airport rules so we would know what to expect when we got there. She knows i am not tech savvy so she always gives me very detailed emails on everything i need know and ive never had an issue during travel. She is very knowledgable, fast at getting back to me and a pleasure to talk to. If i could give more than 5 stars, I would! Thank you, Teresa!

Fantastic experience: We have dealt with Expedia and specifically Kristen Duhaime over the years for our cruise needs. She has been more than helpful and attentive to our travel requests. Always helping us get the best prices and packages available. We wouldn't go with anyone else!

Fantastic experience: Teresa Cary: We have booked a number of cruises via Teresa Cary. Her organizational skills are outstanding. She always goes the extra mile to ensure our trip is fun, hassle free and a great value for the money sent. Teresa is extremely prompt in responding to our many questions. We are very pleased with the service provided by Teresa and plan to use her for our many trips in the future.

Fantastic experience: Teresa is very knowledgeable, quick to respond to queries and is very resourceful. If she's not sure of something, she makes sure she follows up with the cruise line directly to always give accurate information. She is very thorough with follow up emails explaining next steps so we get the most out of the cruise. Will book through her again! Thank you, Teresa!

Fantastic experience: I booked our Alaska Cruise with Randy this year. He's very knowledgably about cruises and his service is great! I originally booked with another Expedia agent in 2022, but we had to move our trip to 2023 due to the pandemic. She was not able to rebook us without any penalty. Randy seems to be able to meet our needs with an even better deal. We had 10 people in total and he manages to book five staterooms right next to each other for us, which is super helpful. I also had a problem logging in to my cruise app, and Randy personally helped me to figure that out by calling the cruise line and then testing it in his own phone. Their customer services are great too. I got reminders for each step from booking to disembarking. I even got this email reminder to provide our feedback on Google review, haha! Will definitely book with Randy's team in the future.

Fantastic experience: Our sincere thank you to Lissa Antflick who has arranged several trips for us over the last few years. Our most recent trip had a major hiccup -- when my husband, despite having got all available vaccinations, contracted a mild case of COVID. The cruise tour company's policy meant we couldn't complete that part of our trip. Lissa rose to the challenge and was able to quickly get us home ahead of schedule at almost no additional cost to us. It is a great comfort to know that Lissa is just an email or phone call away. We couldn't be happier with the service.

Fantastic experience: Beverly did a fantastic job with our Disney trip with all her experience and knowledge on Disneyland. It was a such a great trip

Fantastic experience: Teresa Cary, our agent, is exceptionally diligent, careful and patient. She works with us to get the best deals for our travels, especially with cruises. She is pleasant to work with and very helpful in her extra effort to make our all travels a wonderful and stress free experience.

Fantastic experience: Kristen provides a superior level of service and always dots the i's and crosses the t's to make sure our trips are worry free.

Fantastic experience: We have used Teresa with Expedia several times now and she has been most helpful with hotels, car rental, cruises and much, much more. She has been very accommodating with all our needs.

Fantastic experience: Teresa C. is amazing! She has booked several cruises for us and has saved us $ by always checking to make sure there aren’t better rates. She gets to know what we like so that things go smoothly when we are planning trips. Highly recommend Teresa!

Fantastic experience: My partner and I have completed 3 different cruises using the help of our wonderful Expedia Cruises agent Teresa Cary. She has efficiently provided helpful information at key times to make managing the process of travel on these three Princess Line cruises as simple as possible. By taking advantage of promotional offers she has saved us money too. When both of us came down with Covid infections and were quarantined in our cabin for five and a half days on the Caribbean Cruise last November, Teresa kindly kept in regular contact to give support — something the Princess staff were not so good at providing. Although we would not recommend Princess Line, we’d have no hesitation in recommending Teresa’s services to friends.

Fantastic experience: Excellent services! Teresa is always prompt at responding to email requests and goes above and beyond her call of duty. She has called cruise lines post cruise to ensure we weren't double charged for gratuities. She always sends emails to update us every step of the way until we get on board! Those emails are very informative. Thank you, Teresa! Until our next cruise vacation!

Fantastic experience: We booked our Alaskan cruise with Bill MacDonald. Navigating the logistics of a cruise can be complex; however, with Bill's exceptional service and attention to detail ensured that every moment of our journey was a remarkable and seamless experience. He was consistently prompt in responding to our questions, concerns, and requests. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile made us feel valued as clients. He helped tailor our cruise itinerary allowing to explore the most breathtaking sights and engage in a variety of enriching activities. Highly recommend booking your travel plans with Bill!

Fantastic experience: Every single detail was meticulously organized so all we had to do was sit back and enjoy our holiday. Would highly recommend Lorna Gant from Expedia Cruises

Fantastic experience: Randy and his team have been our exclusive travel professionals for over 20 years! We receive excellent personalized advice and they are always able to find us fantastic value for our vacation dollar. I trust this team unreservedly to take care of all of our travel needs.

Fantastic experience: AMANDA WAS GREAT!!! She first helped us out on our Hawaii trip in 2022, and then educated us into booking a cruise early in the year for the end of 2023! AND IM GLAD SHE DID!!! Because the trip almost doubled in price a few months later! We just checked!!!

Fantastic experience: Expedia Cruises is a great resource when booking a cruise. Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Also very prompt answering any questions a person may have. I will definitely be booking all future cruises with Lissa at Expedia Cruise Edmonton West.

Fantastic experience: Our Agent, Lorna Gant, was simply "outstanding". Our trip was a 64 day cruise along with flights to South Africa and returning from Japan. She got us booked in business class to and from using my points, she was constantly monitoring flights for the best possible deals, she calmed us down when we started to worry about the payments, insurance, transport from airport to hotel. Lorna was simply wonderful!! BTW the trip was out of this world and, yeah, I'd do a long cruise again! Cheers!

Fantastic experience: Randy Tywoniuk at Expedia Cruises is our go-to travel agent. He’s recommended many hotels and vacation destinations for us and we’ve enjoyed them all. It’s awesome working with a knowledgeable agent and someone we know we can call if we need help, instead of trying to do everything ourselves.

Fantastic experience: We’ve just arrived back from a fantastic Scenic River Cruise, Tulip and Windmills, from Amsterdam. Our Expedia agent, Lorna Gant, made it all happen! She was incredibly knowledgeable and so helpful when I had many many questions prior to the trip. The whole experience exceeded any expectations I had. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you Lorna - you’ll be our travel agent for life!

Fantastic experience: Instead of booking our cruises with online companies we like to use a local agent who we can get to know and one who can get to know us and our preferences. Our cruise specialist Craig Featherstone has provided superior service and we like that we are always able to reach him whether he is on a cruise or at home on the weekend. He goes the extra mile to make sure we are getting the biggest bang for our buck! We have referred our friends to him and they get back to us telling us how happy they are with his service and thanking us for referring him.we have used Expedia Cruises in the past when we lived in Atlantic Canada and see consistent quality of service since we moved to Alberta.

Fantastic experience: We’ve dealt with Lissa at Expedia Cruises several times and were very pleased with each experience. So, when we considered a family vacation with Princess, we didn’t hesitate to contact her again to help us sort through the details. The result: We all enjoyed a wonderful and memorable cruise experience with our children and grandkids. Lissa and the team at Expedia Cruises have always been a tremendous resource for our vacation travel needs. We’ve drawn eagerly and shamelessly on their extensive knowledge and experience. We’ve enjoyed very quick responses to our many questions and concerns. The formula is obvious: know the client, present good options with recommendations, provide sensible advice, planning, thorough attention to detail and prompt, clear and concise communication – all with a personal touch. A “5 out of 5” should be well earned and truly deserved. My only question… Where can I find a sixth star for this rating?

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Amanda Cummings from the very being of vacation choice. Friendly, courteous, helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had the best experience. The Bon Voyage and welcome home cards along with phone cards were such a nice personal touch. This was our first trip as a family so we certainly were thankful for all her help and patience as we navigated this new territory for us. Can not thank Amanda Cummings enough and all four families would use her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to others.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Lissa! Another wonderful trip in our memory books. Our ladies travel group (The Divas) have used Lissa from Expedia Cruises since 2009. She has helped us plan our holidays and offered valuable advice regarding resorts/hotels. We are extremely grateful for all that Lissa does for us!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic customer service! Randy provided updated information on policies and procedures for cruising and air travel, all required documentation and recommended the perfect state room for our trip. Randy’s travel knowledge is vast and makes travel very easy to navigate! Highly recommend Randy and his crew at Expedia Cruises !!

Fantastic experience: My wife Faye and I have used Lissa from Expedia Cruises for the past 13 years. She has played a key role in planning and organizing 25 cruises for us covering 350 days. She has taken great care of us on every trip. Lissa was particularly important to us when we were quarantined on the Diamond Princess. She cancelled hotels and rebooked them for us, and did the same for our flights home which kept getting changed as we didn’t know what lay ahead. She often spend hours on the phone with Air Canada trying to get us home. We just got home from 30 days cruising in the Caribbean all thanks to Lissa who constantly gets us better deals and offers sound advice. Like Faye says: “every traveller needs a Lissa”. .

Fantastic experience: We have recently experienced our best vacation ever on our Mediterranean cruise. Everything on-board was first class and exceeded our expectations. Special thanks to Lissa Antflick who went above and beyond for every detail including our preferred seat selection on our way home. Lissa is clearly an experienced professional. In addition to seeking her services for our future travel plans, we will recommend Lissa to our friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Randy arranged a cruise to the Galapagos for my wife and I. It was a fantastic once in a lifetime trip. We received excellent advice and service from Randy and everything went very smoothly, which is extraordinary considering the ever changing rules and regulations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Galapagos cruise was fantastic and is easily one of the best trips we have ever done. I would highly recommend Randy and Expedia cruises.

Fantastic experience: Every time we are planning for a cruise trip, we always contact Expedia Cruises Center. we are never disappointed by their service and hospitality. Our cruise consultant, Ulrika, always exceed her standard to make sure we are worry free (from required documents, travel insurance to cruise tags, always ready to go). We always have a smooth, enjoyable and hectic free cruise with her service and experience. Most of all, she will always be in touch when in need. (unlike many other travel agents, customers may have to wait on the phone for hours for answers.) If anyone planning for cruise trip, Expedia Cruises Center in this location is highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to Randy and the entire team for planning our vacation. We gave them some ideas on what we wanted to do and the team gave us back our dream vacation. Fantastic hotels, fantastic itinerary and great communication along the way. We will continue to book our family vacations with them. Thanks so much for all your help.

cruise in edmonton

We’re setting sail on June 1st, 2024.

Nestled on the North Saskatchewan River in the heart of Edmonton, the Edmonton Riverboat has been delighting locals and visitors alike since it first set sail in 1995. With its iconic presence and stunning views of the city skyline, it has become one of Edmonton’s most recognizable landmarks and a must-see attraction.

The cruise is approximately 60-90 minutes long, and the route may vary depending on the water levels.

Please note that our sailing route may be altered due to unpredictable and rapidly fluctuating North Saskatchewan water levels. We strive to provide the best possible sailing experience.

Our events are held rain or shine  except for circumstances such as low water levels . We will sail through thunderstorms and high winds as it does not impact the boat.  All decisions regarding our ability to sail are made by the ship’s Captain.

If we need to cancel a cruise, we will post updates on our website and social media with as much notice as possible.

Our policy states that our tickets are final sale.

If you can no longer make your scheduled cruise, we can:

  • Refund the ticket in the form of a gift certificate. This can be used for the purchase of a future cruise. Please note that we can’t accept gift certificates as a form of payment for onboard purchases such as drinks or burgers.
  • Reschedule the tickets for another date. Please contact us and we can transfer your tickets to a different cruise for you.
  • Pass the tickets on to someone else via email. You’re welcome to forward the tickets on to a friend or someone else who can make the cruise in your place. The tickets do not to be transferred to a different name! They just need to have the original tickets when boarding

If the cruise is shortened or altered due to low river water levels,  we will refund the cruise ticket in the form of a gift certificate or rebook the cruise, depending on the customer’s preference. Those with buffet tickets will still be able to enjoy their meal, so that would not get refunded. Please note that the cruise would still occur and you will still have the same amount of time on board.

If the Captain cancels the event entirely, we  will refund the entire ticket in the form of a gift certificate or rebook the cruise, depending on the customer’s preference.

You don’t need to reserve a table for any of our cruises. Tables are first come first served. We have tables available on the outside deck and inside the dining room.

However, we offer a Reserved Table for 2 package, which includes a beautifully decorated table and a bottled beverage of your choice. This is an excellent option for a special date night or to make your cruise even more memorable. Purchasing this package can be done at the same time as buying your cruise tickets for an additional cost. If you’d like to purchase a Reserved Table for 2 package for more than two people, you’ll need to book additional packages and we can arrange the tables to be together for your group.

Yes! If you show your Access2 Card at the dock, you will get free entry for your support person or aide for any of our cruises. You don’t need to pre-purchase a ticket for your support person. Please note that any support person entering using an Access2 card will not have access to the buffet.

We offer tickets for our events  online , but please be aware that our events do sell out quickly.  You may also visit the  “Contact” page  to get in touch with us.

To ensure that you have the most up-to-date information about our events, please check our online ticketing system for the latest schedule and availability.

We offer several ticket pricing options to accommodate a range of ages and needs.

  • Adult ticket pricing applies to ages 14+
  • Child ticket pricing applies to ages 3-13
  • Senior ticket pricing applies to ages 60+
  • Infants and children under 2 years of age are free.

You can purchase tickets in bulk! Simply go to the Tickets page , select the cruise your group wishes to attend, and enter the number of tickets you need.

But since there are no assigned tables or seats, you don’t need to purchase all your tickets at once to ensure everyone is on the same cruise. Just inform your group about the specific cruise they should book tickets for. As long as there are tickets available, everyone can buy theirs separately.

If you’d like to reserve a table for your group, write us a comment in the “Anything we should know?” section when purchasing your tickets and we’ll try our best to accommodate!

Gift certificates are available for purchase and can be used for any cruise. We offer denominations of $25, $100, $150, and $200, and they will be sent to the recipient via email in electronic form.

Yes – we are honouring older gift certificates and vouchers. Please reach out to us on the  “Contact” page  if you need a hand with redeeming them.

Please note that we are not able to honor gift certificates or Groupons issued before 2018.

Yes – private rentals for special occasions or events are available, starting at approximately $5500 plus a minimum spend on food and beverages. See our  “Private Booking Request” page  for more details.

For private events, you’re more than welcome to bring decorations on board. Please let us know what you’re thinking of when   booking the event.

Limited parking for the Edmonton Riverboat is available at Rafters Landing. However, please keep in mind that parking at our location is also open to the general public and can fill up quickly.

For additional parking options, Henrietta Muir Edwards Park is available just east of Rafters Landing, near the new LRT bridge. Also, there is street parking available along 96A Street and 98A Ave, north of 98 Ave. For more detailed directions, please see below .

As a courtesy to our community, please observe all bylaws when parking at any location.  Please be aware that parking on grassy areas at Rafters’ Landing may result in a parking ticket  that Edmonton Riverboat will not be responsible for .

To avoid any inconvenience, we strongly encourage you to consider taking public transportation, a taxi, Uber, walk, or carpool with others.

We also remind you to drink responsibly if you do choose to drive. In the event that you do need to drive, please allow ample time to locate parking.

The time on your ticket is when boarding begins. Boarding will last for 45 minutes. The boat will leave the dock around 1 hour after boarding starts.

For example: A 7pm cruise will start boarding at 7pm, finish boarding at 7:45pm, and set sail by 8pm.

It is crucial to arrive on time as departure times are strictly adhered to. L atecomers will not be accommodated, so don’t be late!

You can find the boarding time details for each event on the event description page, so make sure to check it out. However, the specific timing of your event may differ, so please be sure to double-check.

To access the boat, parking is available at Rafters’ Landing.    You will then walk north along the City Park path, then down an inclined paved trail. If you look up above the trees, you’ll see four flags in the air. That’s where the boat is!

You don’t need to print your ticket, as we can check you in from your mobile device. However, if you prefer to have a printed ticket, we’ll accept that as well.

Yes – the boat is wheelchair accessible. We do have a  wheelchair lift that provides access to the lower deck, but it is restricted to walkers and non-motorized wheelchairs only. There is also a  wheelchair accessible washroom on the lower deck.

Please be aware that guests will need to travel approximately 200 meters North from the parking lot to reach the boat. There is also a relatively steep slope from the parking lot to the dock, or a set of stairs located east from the incline.  Accessing the boat via the gangway involves an incline up and then an incline down.

We do not provide transportation from the parking lot to the boat at this time.

Yes – there are men’s and women’s washroom on the top deck, as well as a wheelchair accessible washroom on the lower deck.

Yes – we have tables and chairs inside the lower deck and on the top deck. Tables and chairs are first come, first serve.

If you’d like to reserve some seating for a larger group/event, please let us know when you book and we can do our best to accomodate!

We take the safety and comfort of our guests seriously, and to ensure a healthy environment for all, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on the boat. This policy is in place to comply with local regulations and to maintain a clean and pleasant atmosphere for all our visitors.

We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy and helping us to create a welcoming environment for all.

Yes – there is space to leave them on the side of the deck. But since deck space is limited, please consider other transport options for your cruise. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any strollers or wagons left unattended on deck.

We sail in the rain and sun, so it’s best to dress for the weather. We suggest wearing flat comfortable shoes that won’t slide off your feet.

It can also get cold during the evening on the water, so bring a sweater or light jacket for an evening cruise.

Service animals are welcome onboard. Otherwise, please leave your pets at home to ensure everyone has a comfortable experience.

Yes. We have two bars on board that sell various drinks and snacks. We also have a BBQ that will sell burgers during the cruise.

For more details about our offerings, please visit our  FOOD & BEVERAGE  page.

No, we don’t allow outside food or drinks.

However, i f there’s a special occasion and you wish to bring a cake we can make an exception to this policy.   We will gladly store the cake until you are ready and provide the appropriate dishes for service.

Please inform us in advance by including a note in your online ticket purchase or replying to your reservation email.

Although we value and respect various dietary choices and restrictions, please note that our kitchen is limited in size and resources. Nonetheless, we strive to provide a diverse selection of food items to accommodate a few of the most common dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten-friendly (not suitable for celiac sufferers) options.

And we have answers! Please send them to us on our  “Contact” page!

Parking Information

We’re located in the River Valley of  Henrietta Muir Edwards Park.

To access the boat, you can park at Rafters Landing and walk through the park.  Use  this link for the GPS location  of the parking lot.  There is additional parking at the Henrietta Muir Edwards Park parking lot, just east of Rafters Landing near the new LRT bridge.

Please note that  these are public parking lots operated by the City of Edmonton and we do not have any control over parking availability.  Be aware that if you are on an afternoon or evening cruise, the parking lot will be very full until our morning cruise arrives back at the dock and the passengers disembark.  Please ensure you leave enough time to find parking.  Do not park on any grassy areas as the City of Edmonton will ticket you.

There is also street parking along 96A Street and 98A Ave, north of 98 Ave.  Click here  for directions.

We recommend using other modes of transport whenever possible (public transportation, car pool, Uber, Bird or Lime, taxi, etc.).

Once you are parked, there will be signage directing you to walk north along a city park path down an inclined paved trail to the boat where there will be an option to take stairs or a paved trail to the boarding area.

A first-timer’s guide to Edmonton, Alberta's capital city

Edmonton does things big: it’s home to Canada ’s largest sports and entertainment district, the largest stretch of urban parkland in North America, the oldest and largest fringe theater festival in North America and one of the largest shopping malls on the planet. But underneath that big, bold surface is a vibrant capital city with an unpretentious population and a rich and diverse culture.

Canada’s fifth-largest city and northernmost major metropolis is filled with so many fascinating places to explore that planning a visit can be a bit overwhelming. Where should I go? How can I get there? How can I experience the real culture of this place? This guide tackles those questions and provides practical advice on how to make the most of your first visit to Edmonton.

What is the best time to visit Edmonton?

The summer months are the most popular time to visit – the city receives as much as 17 hours of daylight per day, and temperatures range between 20°C (68°F) to 30°C (86°F). It’s also the season when you can enjoy many of the most popular festivals, like K-Days in July or the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival in August. Accommodations will cost more during the peak summer months. Edmonton can get quite cold in winter, with typical temperatures ranging between -5°C (23°F) and -15°C (5°F) and snowfall happening as early as November and as late as March. You shouldn’t be afraid of winter, though – it’s a great time to visit if you like skating, skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.

One added bonus to a fall or winter visit is that you might get the chance to see the northern lights . The University of Alberta’s Aurora Watch website monitors aurora activity near Edmonton and can send you alerts. There are festivals year-round, too, so there’s really no bad time to visit. Flying Canoë Volant is a highlight of winter, and the International Children’s Festival in spring is great family fun. Accommodations also tend to cost less during the fall, winter and spring.

What is Edmonton best known for?

As the gateway city to Jasper National Park and the Canadian Rockies, Edmonton is a fast-growing city with a young population compared to other Canadian cities. It’s also known as Canada’s festival city because it hosts more than 50 festivals annually . And you may have heard of its biggest attractions: the beautiful North Saskatchewan River Valley and West Edmonton Mall (the biggest in North America). Edmonton is also a sports-loving city, home to the Edmonton Oilers NHL hockey team and the Edmonton Elks CFL football team. The city used to have the moniker “City of Champions” in honor of its sports teams.

Is it easy to get in and around Edmonton without a rental car?

A rental vehicle is the easiest and most convenient way to get around Edmonton, but you have plenty of other options. The city has a good public transit system with both buses and Light-rail Transit (LRT) services . Uber, taxis and bicycle rentals are also a possibility. If you want to get around on foot, Edmonton is a very walkable city .

How much time should I spend in Edmonton?

Ideally, you should have at least two or three days to explore Edmonton. It won’t be enough time to see everything, but you will be able to see some of the top attractions. If you only have one day, you’ll have time for one or possibly two attractions. Exploring West Edmonton Mall can take a full day, but you might be able to visit two smaller attractions in a single day. With three days, you could visit one of the attractions outside the city, like Elk Island National Park , the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village or Métis Crossing .

How much money do I need for Edmonton?

Compared to other cities, Edmonton is a bargain. Accommodation rates vary depending on the location and the season, but they tend to be higher in the downtown core. Unsurprisingly, you can find some deals if you book early and avoid peak-season travel. Major attractions may charge hefty fees, but there are a lot of free festivals and things to do . There are some great farmers markets and picnic spots if you want to save a buck and still enjoy high-quality local food.

Here are some average daily costs at peak season (in $CAD):

  • Downtown hotel $150-375 per room per night
  • Private double room in a hostel $65 per night
  • Coffee (Tim Hortons or similar) $2
  • Entrée at a midrange restaurant $25-35
  • Glass of wine $8-10
  • Museum admission $14-21
  • Public transit single ticket $2.75 within Edmonton, $5 from the airport to Edmonton
  • Cab fare from Edmonton airport to downtown $62

What food is Edmonton known for?

One of the best things about visiting a place is discovering unique local foods. Green onion cakes were introduced to Edmonton in 1978 when Siu To, an immigrant from northern China, began serving them in his restaurants. These pan-fried pancakes filled with scallions are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and they are so beloved in the city that some have suggested they should be declared Edmonton’s official food. They are served at restaurants around the city and at many festivals, but try the original at Green Onion Cake Man restaurant.

Other foods that should make your must-eat list: perogies, donairs and Alberta beef. There’s a huge Ukrainian and Polish community in Edmonton and some amazing restaurants that make perogies fresh daily. Sample the goods at  Uncle Ed's Ukrainian Restaurant , Taste of Ukraine , Shumka Ukrainian Foods or Widynowski's Sausage House . Next up is the donair, a uniquely Canadian food similar to a Greek Gyro with seasoned shaved rotisserie beef, veggies and special sauce wrapped in a pita. There are over 120 donair restaurants in Edmonton, and  Marco's Famous , Swiss Donair and Top Donair are all good places to try it. Finally, Alberta is famed for its beef (there are more cattle than people in the province), and many restaurants serve up this local specialty with flair.

Where to eat in Edmonton

Edmonton’s food and drink scene is worth traveling for. Dynamic and always evolving, you’ll find some fantastic bakeries, ice cream shops, restaurants, breweries, pubs and bars. For breakfast or brunch, check out The Sugarbowl , where you'll find everything from fresh cinnamon buns to huevos rancheros and Belgian waffles. Duchess Bake Shop is the most famous French bakery in town, serving up amazing macarons, tarts, croissants and éclairs. Farrow Sandwiches is known for its uniquely delicious sandwiches, freshly brewed coffee and delicious baked goods.

Small-batch, hand-crafted ice cream is a thing in Edmonton, and there are several fantastic shops, including Made by Marcus , Kind Ice Cream  and Yelo’d . For local prairie cuisine at its finest – including Alberta beef from an onsite butchery – go to RGE RD . For Asian-inspired food that’s meant to be shared, visit Baijiu , a trendy cocktail bar and eatery in a historical building. Also, take a brewery tour at Monolith , one of the only breweries in North America that offer barrel-aged beer. For cocktails and late-night snacks, check out Fu’s Repair Shop or Bar Clementine , two of the city’s trendiest spots. To get a taste of several different places, go on a food tour with Alberta Food Tours .

Experience Edmonton’s must-see attractions

There are many attractions in Edmonton, and some of them are iconic. It’s hard not to be blown away by West Edmonton Mall . Canada’s largest shopping and entertainment complex has more than 800 stores, a water park, a theme park and much more. The Royal Alberta Museum is Western Canada’s largest museum – a great place to explore history. See 6000 pieces of art from Alberta and around the world at the Art Gallery of Alberta . Experience Canada’s national winter sport at an Edmonton Oilers hockey game at Rogers Place. Enjoy a performance of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at the Winspear. There are several places to enjoy live theater, but the Citadel Theatre is the city’s premiere facility. Just outside the city, you can enjoy hiking, canoeing, wildlife watching and other outdoor adventures at Elk Island National Park . Herds of bison, elk and more than 250 bird species are found in the park.

An afternoon view of the North Saskatchewan river valley and downtown Edmonton, the capital of Alberta province. Also visible is the train bride connecting the east and west sides of the city. It is the beginning of Autumn and the leaves have just started turning yellow, orange and red.

My favorite thing to do in Edmonton

I love exploring the North Saskatchewan River Valley, often referred to by locals as the Edmonton River Valley – the city’s pride and joy. Take a free ride on the 100 Street Funicular  and embark on an adventure through the largest stretch of urban parkland in North America, an area 22 times bigger than New York City’s Central Park. There are 20 major parks in the river valley, many attractions and more than 99 miles (160km) of trails to explore by running, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or on a guided Segway tour; use this handy trail map for exploring.  River Valley Adventure Co is the place to go for Segway tours, mountain bikes, stand-up paddle boards and other sports equipment rentals.

If you prefer to hit the water, grab a canoe or kayak and glide along the North Saskatchewan River. Canoe and kayak rentals and shuttle service are available at Edmonton Canoe .

Download the free app if you’re exploring the six-mile (10km) Edmonton Commonwealth Walkway  to listen to one of five themed audio tours – Indigenous, history, family, river and winter.  There are quite a few attractions in the Edmonton River Valley, including Snow Valley Ski Hill , Snow Valley Aerial Park , Fort Edmonton Park , the Edmonton Valley Zoo , Muttart Conservatory and the John Janzen Nature Center .

Attend a festival in Canada’s festival city

You could plan your entire trip around Edmonton’s festival schedule. Hosting more than 50 festivals every year, Canada’s Festival City celebrates everything from arts and culture to music, food and LGBTQIA+ pride. Check out the Explore Edmonton event calendar to see what’s happening during your stay. Some recommendations in summer include the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival , Edmonton Heritage Festival , Edmonton International Street Performers Festival , Edmonton Folk Music Festival , K-Days , Edmonton Pride Festival  and Cariwest . In winter, Flying Canoe Volant , Silver Skate Festival  and Deep Freeze take the edge off cold days.

Discover the Indigenous side of Alberta’s capital city

Edmonton is located within Treaty No. 6 territory and within the Métis homelands and the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4. The city has the second largest urban Indigenous population in Canada, and there are many unique opportunities to learn about Indigenous Edmonton. The Indigenous People’s Experience at Fort Edmonton Park is a multi-media experience that tells the stories and shares the cultures of the Indigenous Peoples of this region of Canada. To see the city from an Indigenous perspective, take a tour with Talking Rock Tours . Also consider making a visit to Métis Crossing , an 80-minute drive northeast of Edmonton, where you can learn about Métis culture and enjoy fun activities like paddling a voyageur canoe and taking a wildlife tour to see a sacred white bison.

Peach City Beach Cruise: Okanagan’s largest car show this weekend

cruise in edmonton

If you get Global News from Instagram or Facebook - that will be changing. Find out how you can still connect with us .

Big crowds, hundreds of hotrods and sunshine will gather in Penticton this weekend for the largest annual car show in the Okanagan.

cruise in edmonton

The Peach City Beach Cruise annually draws between 600 and 800 vehicles from B.C., the Prairies and the Pacific Northwest.

So far, 700 vehicles have been registered for this year’s event, June 21-23, which will once again take place along the gorgeous, one-mile strip of Lakeshore Drive.

As usual, the city will close some roads and parks to accommodate the massive influx of people and vehicles.

In 2023, organizers estimated that the three-day event — which also acts as a charitable fundraiser and gives out best-in-show trophies — drew around 10,000 people.

Further, hundreds of vehicles are once again expected to cruise from Skaha Park East on Friday, beginning at 5:15 p.m., along Main Street and Skaha Lake Road through the city to Lakeshore Drive.

“Drivers heading downtown should anticipate multiple road closures and limited parking availability,” the City of Penticton warned.

The closures include shutting down nearly all of Lakeshore Drive from Friday morning to midnight on Saturday.

The weather forecast for the weekend will be sunny and warm, with Environment Canada predicting sunny skies and highs of 26 to 28 C.

More information about the car show is available online.

After the Edmonton Oilers beat the Florida Panthers 5-3 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday , Game 6 ticket prices skyrocketed by nearly 97 per cent in the hours since Panthers GM Bill Zito threw a water bottle in anger , according to new data from Casino.org .

The cheapest Game 6 tickets available start at $1,896 — 176 per cent above the surveyed fans’ budgets. The most expensive ticket is $87,452, according to Casino.org.

The most surprising thing was how fast ticket prices updated overnight, Rhiannon O’Donohoe, digital public relations specialist with Casino.org, told Postmedia Wednesday.

“Obviously, nobody knew if Game 6 was going to happen … but then finding out that it increased by almost 100 per cent overnight, I was like, ‘Oh my God, people really want to go but also really want to make money off of it too,'” she said, noting prices are higher this year compared to last.

“I think because the Stanley Cup’s going to make history either way for either team, the prices are soaring right now … because people want to witness this in person.”

The nationwide study asked 1,000 Oilers fans — with an average age of 41 — one simple question on Monday: how much are you willing to spend to attend a Stanley Cup game?

“The range is about $100 to $1,000, typically,” O’Donohoe said, “but I saw one fan who’s willing to spend $4,000. One was willing to spend $5,000 — so, dedication.”

Inclusion Alberta’s Game 6 ticket raffle sold out — reaching its $20,000 goal — soon after launching Wednesday.

You can still experience the decibel-busting atmosphere without the price tag in Edmonton’s Moss Pit (officially called the Ford Tailgate Party in ICE District Plaza) for Game 6 on Friday.

NHL | Barkov, Panthers edge Oilers in Game 3 to move within 1 win of Stanley Cup title

Aleksander barkov sets up a goal and score another and sergei bobrovsky (32 saves) extends his run of dominance as florida pounces on turnovers and holds off edmonton, 4-3. game 4 is saturday night in edmonton..

cruise in edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta — Following their leaders who got them this far in the playoffs and a winning recipe that has worked all season, the Florida Panthers are on the verge of lifting the Stanley Cup.

Captain Aleksander Barkov set up a goal and scored another, Sergei Bobrovsky made some of the biggest of his 32 saves to thwart a comeback bid and the Panthers held on to beat the Edmonton Oilers, 4-3, in Game 3 of the Cup Final on Thursday night.

They can win the first title in franchise history as soon as Game 4 on Saturday night in Edmonton.

“We know it’s going to be the hardest game for sure,” Barkov said. “We don’t take anything for granted. Every single day is one day at a time. Whether it’s one period, one shift, we take it one at a time. That’s how we’ve been all year.”

Florida took another step toward hockey’s mountaintop by pouncing on a handful of Edmonton turnovers and keeping Connor McDavid from scoring a goal. A late rally got the Oilers within one but fell short, as the Panthers leaned on Bobrovsky, who made a highlight-reel stop on Ryan McLeod in the final minutes to preserve the victory.

“They are a very skillful offensive team,” Bobrovsky said. “They’re going to make plays. You just focus on each and every one and it’s a fun challenge. It’s a fun challenge to play against them because they bring the best.”

Long before that, Barkov forced one of the giveaways by Evan Bouchard seconds before Sam Reinhart’s goal, netminder Stuart Skinner coughed up the puck on Vladimir Tarasenko’s, and Darnell Nurse gave it away on Sam Bennett’s.

“We let them take that momentum and stride with it,” Skinner said. “Just kind of silly mistakes. That doesn’t need to happen.”

Barkov had one of the signature moments by getting past the defense and beating Skinner on a breakaway, quieting for some time the crowd fired up for the first Stanley Cup Final game with fans in Edmonton since 2006. That trip also ended in defeat.

To avoid that fate, the Oilers will need to complete a 3-0 comeback done just four times in NHL playoff history – and once in the Final all the way back in 1942 – to end Canada’s Cup drought.

The last year a team based in Canada won it was Montreal in 1993, months before the Panthers’ inaugural season. Until this series, they had gone 1-8 in their two previous appearances in the Final.

Behind Barkov and Bobrovsky, Florida has totally flipped that script. The two leading candidates for the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP were arguably the two best players on the ice in Game 3, including Barkov bouncing back from a high hit from Leon Draisaitl that knocked him out of Game 2 on Monday night.

“Just from the start, our compete and our will and the want to win this one was huge,” Bennett said. “Everyone down to our goalie were battling their butts off. It was nice to see the effort. You either have it, or you don’t. We have 23 dogs on our team that have that will. You either have it, or you don’t.”

Another big reason the Panthers got here, winger Matthew Tkachuk, also had a big assist and was responsible for turning up the pressure on Edmonton.

The Oilers wilted under it, losing a game in which they were largely the better team but could not overcome ill-timed miscues. Skinner allowed four goals on 23 shots and Warren Foegele, Philip Broberg and McLeod scored, while McDavid for the first time all playoffs looked frustrated and out of sorts.

“We’re trying to figure them out,” said McDavid, who put five shots on net. “We haven’t beat them in three games. We’ve had stretches that are good, stretches that are bad.”

Bogging down elite opponents, defending them to the point of second-guessing their ability to score, is a huge part of the Panthers’ style and a big reason they are on the league’s biggest stage and putting the cold ones on ice for a potential championship celebration 2,500 miles from home.

By holding on to beat Edmonton on Thursday night, they also showed no ill effects from waiting to fly from South Florida to Alberta, a decision that was questioned when their plane was delayed by storms and got in a few hours late Wednesday – less than 24 hours before puck drop. Instead of looking jet-lagged, the Panthers were primed to pounce on opportunities to score and delivered when it mattered most.

“We keep staying with the moment,” Bobrovsky said. “We don’t think too much ahead of ourselves. We’re just staying with the moment and enjoy the moment.”

FRUSTRATION BUILDS FOR OILERS

The Oilers find themselves on the brink of elimination despite arguably being the better team in two of the first three games of the series.

Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch believes it is a matter of time before his team, led by reigning and three-time NHL MVP McDavid, comes through on the bevy of chances and all the pucks going on net. But time is running out to have that breakthrough, and the frustration was evident after Game 3.

“It’s very frustrating,” fellow All-Star Draisaitl said. “We’re obviously firing a lot of shots. We just can’t seem to put it over the goal line.”

The Oilers outshot the Panthers 35-23 and had many more high-danger scoring opportunities than their Game 2 defeat in Florida. They tilted the ice toward Bobrovsky and cut their deficit from three goals to one with five minutes left but could not crack him one more time to force overtime.

“We’re still getting our looks,” Draisaitl said. “When you’re chasing the game for a big chunk of the night, it’s just hard to come back.”

McDavid had five shots on net, including a one-timer after a power play expired that Bobrovsky slid over to stop. He set up Broberg’s goal in the third but still has no goals in his first career trip to the Final.

This is not on McDavid alone, but he and his teammates are struggling to solve the Panthers before it’s too late.

Late in Game 3, it looked like they had. More than eight minutes after Broberg scored, McLeod tipped a puck past Bobrovsky to cut the deficit to one with 5:17 remaining. Pulling Skinner for an extra skater kept the pressure on, but the clock hit zeroes and sent Florida into celebration mode with the first title in franchise history now one win away.

No team has been swept in the Final since the Washington Capitals in 1998, when the Detroit Red Wings went back to back.

“It’s a steep hill right now,” Draisaitl said.

A steep hill that the Oilers hope they can begin climbing using the fuel from the almost comeback.

“There’s a difference between frustration and quitting,” Knoblauch said. “There’s absolutely no quit. There’s a belief that we can do this. We just need to keep pushing.”
