Carnival Cruise Club O2 teen club for ages 15-17

What is Carnival Club O2?

Carnival Club O2 is a dedicated teen club on Carnival Cruise ships, specifically designed for teens between the ages of 15 and 17. It’s a safe and vibrant space where teenagers can connect with others their age, participate in exciting activities, and create unforgettable moments during their cruise adventure.

Carnival Club O2 Activities

One of the standout features of Carnival Club O2 is the wide range of activities available to teens. Here are some of the highlights your teenagers can look forward to. Keep in mind that these can change.

Theme Parties

Carnival Club O2 hosts fun themed nights that allow teens to dress up (only if they want), show their style, and dance the night away with new friends. The themed parties on our recent 7 night cruise were:

  • Welcome Aboard Party
  • Totally Awesome Throwback Party (80’s party)
  • Pirate Party
  • White Hot Night After Party (wear white if you have it)
  • Farewell Party

These themes can of course change. This is just meant to give you an idea of what is offered.

Video Gaming

A teen hangout isn’t complete without video games. Most ships have PlayStations with different games available to play.

Video Game Tournaments

Competitive gamers can test their skills in a video game tournament. Be sure to check the Club O2 schedule. A video game tournament was held on one afternoon.

Carnival Club O2 hosts karaoke nights where teens can showcase their singing talents in a supportive and entertaining environment. Or it’s the perfect place to step out of their comfort zone and give it a try. It’s a great way for them to express themselves and create memories.

Outdoor Activities

Some of the outdoor activities available for Club O2 participants are:

  • Ship wide scavenger hunts
  • Bean bag toss
  • Foosball tournament
  • Ropes course

Indoor Games

Throughout your cruise there will be different game times scheduled. These will vary but can include things like giant board games (Jenga, connect 4), Twister, card games, group games, bingo and other board games.

Club O2 offers several craft sessions throughout the cruise. The sessions offered when we last sailed were:

  • Jewelry design
  • “Messy Mania”
  • Holiday fun (if you are cruising in December)
  • “DIY creations”
  • “Paper and glue”

There is no cost to attend any of these craft sessions and some of them make great souvenirs.

Movie Nights

Teens can enjoy movie nights under the stars, complete with popcorn and blankets. It’s a cozy and enjoyable way to watch their favorite films.

Trivia Challenges

Your teen can test their knowledge with trivia challenges covering a wide range of topics. They can team up with fellow cruisers to answer questions and win cool prizes.

Each day, and often several times a day, Club O2 will have “U Choose” sessions. Teens can choose what they want to do during this time.

Teen dinner

Attend the teen dinner in the Lido Marketplace (buffet restaurant) with your new friends.

You will also notice that on the Club O2 schedule there will be a few of the deck parties and production shows that are held elsewhere on the ship. For these, your teen can choose to attend these events with their new friends.

Please note that activities can change, this is meant to give you an idea of what is offered. The above activities were taken from the Activity Schedule on our Carnival Celebration cruise in December 2023.

The staff did say that the activities often the same ship to ship but can have slight variation.

Supervision, Safety and Rules

You can have peace of mind knowing that Carnival Club O2 is a supervised environment. Experienced and friendly youth counselors are on hand to ensure that activities run smoothly, and that the well-being and safety of your teens are top priorities. They also facilitate ice-breaking activities to help teens make friends and feel at home on the ship.

Please note that there are some activities that take place elsewhere on the ship, like a scavenger hunt that are not supervised . These activities will be noted in the Club O2 activity schedule as well as on the Carnival Hub app.

Teens aged 17 and younger are not permitted in the public areas of the cruise ship after 1:00 am, unless accompanied by an adult in their traveling party.

Teens must be registered by a parent or guardian before they can participate.

There is no sign in/out policy for teens ages 15-17. They are free to come and go as they please. For complete rules and regulations, please see the Club O2 Activity Schedule either on the Carnival Hub app or pick up a pamphlet from Club O2.

Carnival kids club tip – have your teen attend the first day. If they wait a day or two, they maybe more hesitant to attend as they can feel the other kids have already made friends.

A Place to Connect

Carnival Club O2 isn’t just a space for fun activities; it’s also a place for teens to connect and form lasting friendships. Cruise vacations often bring together teenagers from diverse backgrounds and locations, providing a unique opportunity for your teens to meet people they might not encounter in their everyday lives. It’s a chance to make new friends, share stories, and create bonds that can last beyond the cruise.

With a wide array of activities and a welcoming environment for teens aged 15-17, Carnival Club O2 is the ultimate teen hangout, promising to keep your teens engaged, entertained, and eagerly looking forward to their next cruise adventure.

So, relax, enjoy your well-deserved vacation, and rest assured that your teenagers are in good hands at Carnival Club O2, where they are busy making memories.

Youth Registration Online

Families can register online for Under 2, Camp Ocean®, Circle "C"® and Club O2® before they start their cruise. By pre-registering, children and teens (6 months to 17 years of age) are able to participate in their respective youth programs once they arrive on board. Registering in no way obligates them to participate in any of the activities.

Online Youth Registration can be accessed at the time of Online Check-In.   To complete, guests must click on Manage My Booking at www.carnival.com/Onlinecheckin .

Under the Guest Selection, there is Youth Registration options to register all children who are sailing. Guests can add in 'travel with' guests into the profile if they are sailing with numerous bookings.

Parent/guardian will select the children who they want to participate in the program and answer some of the following questions:

  • Food allergies or diet restrictions
  • Permission to sign in/out (only for ages 9-11)
  • Authorize parent/guardian/friends/relatives to sign in/out children (ages 2-8)

If guests do not register online, they can still register on board with the Youth Staff. All children must be registered in order to participate in the programming.

Cool Cruiser

We have just booked a cruise to the Baltics for next year. I am trying to find out the average cost for a day trip to Moscow from STP. I have searched several times, and whilst I have read reviews and reports about the trips etc - I cannot actually see any examples of the costs. I imagine its quite expensive - but we want to do it so I need to budget LOL !!

Any ballpark figures ? :D

We did the Moscow trip through our cruise ship in late July 2008. Its cost was a little under $1000 pp. Now, that cost through this cruise line is a little over that $1000 pp cost. Now, most are using the high-speed rail connection versus the air flights as we did. I have seen some other numbers from other cruise lines and/or private firms that run $700-850.

Why cheaper or the differences? As cruise lines are pressured to keep their "sticker price" low, they need to make up some "margin" with ship tours, beverages, spa stuff, etc., to help cover their costs and gain some profit. Second, different tours provide various features. Our tour included going inside the famed and spectacular Kremlin Palace. Most Moscow tours don't feature that option and you cannot just walk up there and get in on your own. That Palace is where the Czars were crowned and all of the current/recent Russian leaders assumed their powers.

We could have saved a little if we had used a private tour to go to and visit Moscow, but, with my wife's pushing, we felt it was worth it to pay a little more, do it through the cruise line. If there had been any problems or mix-ups, it was the ship's duty to "make it right" and we would not have to worry.

If you have three days in St. Petersburg and/or have been there before, then the Moscow tour can work out very well. It's not cheap, but in my view, worth it!! Both are a few of my visuals from this super great city with such interesting history and dramatic architecture.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

One of the Kremlin Wall Towers in Moscow:

Walking on the famed Red Square of Moscow:

St. Basil's sits on Red Square and dates back to its 1555-61 construction on the orders of Ivan the Terrible (Ivan IV). It commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan and marks the geometric center of the city. This location has been the hub of its growth for Moscow since the 14th century. It was the tallest building in Moscow until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600. This church was near destroyed in the 1930’s when Stalin was in control.:

Here is a small sampling of the Kremlin Royal Treasures of the Czars: Eggs & Jewels insicde the famed Armory.:

Moscow’s subways are called the “People’s Palaces” with their marble coverings and unique designs for each of the different and many stations.:

This is the interior for Moscow's most historic church, Assumption Cathedral or the Cathedral of the Dormition, inside the Kremlin walls. It is the mother church of Muscovite Russia. The church stands on Cathedral Square and was built in 1475–1479 by the Italian architect Aristotele Fioravanti. It was erected on the spot of an older 14th century cathedral of the same name:

We did the day trip to Moscow with Alla-tour and were very pleased with our tour. Our guide whose English was great was a wealth of information and the day went very smoothly. I checked the web site and Alla's prices for 2012 range from $884 a person for two down to $542 a person for 6 with the 5% cruisecritic discount. So if you can get a group together the per person price goes down considerably. You can try to do this on the roll call section of cruisecritic.

We did not go to the Palace and as Terry says this is not included generally in tours. However, we did go to the Diamond Fund, an amazing display of crown jewels and jewelry in the Armoury building but not really part of the Armoury. I would think you could include this if you had a small group and really wanted to see it. It is quite small and does not accommodate a large group. You can google "diamond fund kremlin" to learn more.

Below are a few more visuals on Moscow that are more "interesting". Fascinating to having seen both cities, back-to-back. It really puts all of this unique Russian history and architecture in better perspective.

In researching cruises, Club O2 was one of the reasons I picked Carnival. I do think it'll boil down to how many teens are there at the time and what the teens are like for that specific cruise. Luckily my girls will have a built in partner to do things with in case that cruise is a dud.
