Brian Kelley Bringing Beach Vibes to the Stage on 2022 Made by the Water Tour
After putting out his debut solo project, Sunshine State of Mind , in 2021, Brian Kelley is doubling down on his beach-inspired new batch of music with a tour. On Tuesday (Feb. 1), he revealed dates for his 12-stop Made by the Water Tour, which kicks off in April in his home state of Florida.
As one half of superstar country duo Florida Georgia Line , Kelley brings his beachy blend of country music inspirations to his work with his bandmate, Tyler Hubbard . Now, in his solo material, he immerses himself even more fully in the inspiration he draws from life by the water. Fittingly, the tour hits plenty of cities known for their beaches, including Isle of Palms, S.C., and Savannah Ga.
"Y'all, I am beyond excited to announce my own tour," Kelley explains. "Releasing my first album has been nothing short of a dream come true, and I can’t wait to bring these songs, along with some beach vibes, to the stage!”
Up-and-coming act the Boat Boys will join Kelley on the road. To round out the nautical theme, the tour will be presented by Boat Trader and Oyster City Brewing Co.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (Feb. 4). Subscribers to the singer's newsletter will get access to a special pre-sale starting Wednesday (Feb. 2), and his social media followers will have pre-sale access beginning Thursday (Feb. 3).

How Brian Kelley's First Solo Tour Brings a Sunshine State of Mind to Fans
As part of e’s backstage pass, florida georgia line’s brian kelley offered a look inside his solo made by the water tour. “dreams do come true,” he said..
Congratulations! You just scored a backstage pass to the hottest tickets in town.
After COVID-19 put a pause on live entertainment, your favorite artists are ready to hit the road and entertain audiences safely with brand-new tours and experiences. And regardless of where you are, we're offering an all-access ticket to every must-see concert of the year. Welcome to E!'s Backstage Pass .
Brian Kelley will never forget opening night of his first-ever solo tour.
As he hit the stage in Daytona Beach, Fla., on April 21, the country singer couldn't believe he was living out his musical dreams right near his childhood backyard.
"It was really extra special and basically a hometown show," Brian shared in an exclusive interview with E! News. "Some higher powers were involved in making that happen. Dreams do come true and sometimes they aren't on your timeline and you just got to keep pushing and sometimes, because they're not on your timeline, they end up turning out better than they would have if you could have planned that yourself."
Since 2010, Brian and Tyler Hubbard have found huge success as the country duo Florida Georgia Line . But after several No. 1 hits, awards and sold-out tours, both members are taking some time to focus on their solo careers.
For Brian, the fan response to his debut solo album, Sunshine State of Mind , has amazed him ever since it was released in June 2021.
"I planted the seed of this album and didn't really get to tour right away because of COVID," Brian shared. "You don't really know what's going to happen and the fans have had time to live with it and love the record and I'm just super grateful. It's really fulfilling to me to know that I followed my heart, I followed my gut and the fans were there to catch me."
When stepping into a new chapter of his career, Brian said there was some fear. But after writing from the heart, the 36-year-old is glad he stayed true to himself and can kick off the summer with nothing but sunshine.
"There are a lot of people like me that love the outdoors, love the water, they love their loved ones, faith is important to them and they love America," he said. "I think people gravitate towards people being themselves."

In Brian Kelley 's first solo headlining tour, the country singer is thrilled to perform songs from his debut solo album. "I always knew that I would let the songs lead the way," Brian explained. "It became clear as day that the next step in my career was to have a solo outlet and put some records out and be able to share my voice, my life, my words and my songs with the world."
Before performing at Daytona Beach Bandshell in Florida, Brian remembered running near the venue in high school and college and dreaming about a day when he could be on the stage. "I still do my same routine of running, dreaming, scheming and stopping at the Bandshell looking at it," Brian said. "I never thought the first time I play there, it would be by myself with a solo headline show."
If you look out in the audience, chances are you will spot Brian's wife Brittney Kelley supporting the singer. "She's my rock. She's my best friend and we do everything together," Brian said. "Pretty much every song is about her and she's helped kind of light a fire under my butt a little bit and helped me gain even more confidence to do this thing and to build out this venture and just see where we can take it."
If there's one piece of feedback Brian loves hearing from concertgoers, it's the idea that he sounds better live than on the album. "I'm super proud of it," Brian said. "I've spent a lot of my career singing harmonies and doing a lot of different background stuff, a lot of high stuff, a lot of low stuff and not too much lead and I'm really getting to work a muscle and part of my voice that hasn't gotten to be used in a long time. It pushes me to just continue to up my game and continue to just fine tune my voice and do the dang thing."
During Brian's tours, fans can enjoy music from opening act The Boat Boys . After discovering their music on Spotify, Brian knew he had to have them in the shows. "It just felt on brand for the whole vibe for what we're trying to do," Brian explained. "A lot of people might not know who they are and that's the point. I wanted people to be, ‘Who are The Boat Boys?' Come to the show and you'll find out. Tyler Hubbard and I both through Florida Georgia Line have had a lot of help through a lot of other artists bringing us on tour, shouting us out and that's the country music community I love."
When you see Brian live, pay attention to his fashion. "It's jeans and some sort of button-down Hawaiian style in a cowboy hat," he said. "I think it stands out and I think it's super unique to me. I think I'm the only one doing it in a sense of how I'm doing it and same with my music. I just want to have and create my own lane and just do me."
"When people listen to my record or come to the shows, I want them to feel like they're on vacation," Brian said. "I don't want them to think about their everyday life, even if it's amazing. We've all got a lot going on. I just want everybody to come in knowing they're gonna have a great time."

Country star Brian Kelley set for homecoming show April 21 at Bandshell in Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH — Florida Georgia Line country music star and Volusia County native Brian Kelley, is returning home for an April 21 concert at the Bandshell in Daytona Beach.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, for the performance, which is part of the “LIVE! At the Bandshell” concert series. Tickets are $54, $75 and $94 for seated admission, with general admission non-seated tickets available for $19 advance, $29 day of show, plus applicable fees.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show may be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or in-person at the Peabody Auditorium box office at 600 Auditorium Boulevard in Daytona Beach between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
An Ormond Beach native, Kelley celebrated his formative years on the waterways and baseball diamonds of his hometown in his recent hit single “Florida Boy Forever.” The music video for the song unfolds against a backdrop of familiar area landmarks.
In case you missed it: With 'Florida Boy Forever,' Ormond Beach native Brian Kelley celebrates his roots
It features Kelley paddling a canoe along the Tomoka River, hanging out in front of the Bandshell, at the Salty Dog Surf Shop in Daytona Beach and on a road trip to longtime beachfront eatery High Tides At Snack Jack in Flagler Beach.
In the final chorus, Kelley returns to the baseball diamond the Ormond Beach Sports Complex, where current members of the Seabreeze High School baseball team turn double plays and help him sing the song’s final chorus along with some of the singer’s longtime friends.
The singer's father, former Volusia County Council Chair Ed Kelley, also appears in the video.
Kelley embraces his Volusia roots
“As we were writing it, I was already picturing how easy and fun and authentic it would be to do it in Ormond Beach,” the singer told The News-Journal in August.
“It means the world to show off where I’m from,” Kelley said. “I think a lot of people relate to that, whether you’re from Wisconsin or California, your love for the place you’re from just shows through.”
A 2004 graduate of Seabreeze High School, Kelley teamed with partner Tyler Hubbard in 2012 to form Florida Georgia Line, a genre-blending country duo that has dominated the charts for a decade. The duo has logged 18 No. 1 singles, more than 13.2 billion global streams and 4.7 million albums sold.
As a solo act, Kelley has melded country style and beach vibes on two releases in 2021, the EP “BK’s Wave Pack” and the full-length album “Sunshine State of Mind.”

When Brian Kelley walked on the stage on April 21 at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, I had one question in mind: Will the world accept him as a solo act, or will he always be half of Florida Georgia Line?
In front of about 2,000 fans, with the Daytona Beach skyline to his right and the Atlantic Ocean to his left, Kelley wore his cowboy hat and a floral button down, an outfit similar to his look on FGL album covers and concert appearances. But at the bandshell, he didn’t have that familiar wearer-of-baseball-caps next to him: no Tyler Hubbard.
The duo have been one of the most successful country music acts in the world, recording five albums from 2010 to 2021. They virtually invented "bro country" by harmonizing melodies as well genres — country and hip-hop.
But FGL is “taking a break,” Hubbard told People magazine in February 2022. Kelley told Billboard in June 2021: “Me and Tyler had been talking about this for years. We made that fifth record our milestone to create some extra freedom for ourselves and have some things in addition to FGL.”
Daytona Beach was a good place for the experiment in freedom to begin. Kelley is a native of nearby Ormond Beach; he was a baseball star at Seabreeze High School. He went to church here, started playing music here. His new album, released in September 2021, pays homage to his beach-cowboy roots, and it was being performed in front of his home crowd.
When he played a Jimmy Buffet cover — “Margaritaville,” of course, with the megadevelopment of the same name just down the road — I thought it was a helpful bridge to ease the crowd onto this new lyrical territory, in which Kelley is wearing “a shark tooth on my bolo” and throwing a party on the beach “every flip-flopping day of the week.”
During the hour-long set, Kelley mostly stuck to his new material, plus a cover of an Eagles song and another by Alan Jackson. No FGL hits.
That may have disappointed one mother-daughter duo, Shelly Wood and Jordan Palmese, from Palm Coast. They are FGL superfans, having been to five concerts together, including one in Las Vegas.
However, it made other fans happy. One husband and wife in the crowd told me they were relieved that Kelley played his new album, which they listen to all the time at home, rather than FGL songs.
As a solo act, Kelley is new, so it’s probably not fair to compare the new album's streaming numbers to the latest FGL album’s numbers. But I couldn’t help but peek and notice that Kelley’s "Sunshine State of Mind" album has one 8 million-stream minihit (“Beach Cowboy”), and most of the songs are still trying to catch a wave to 500,000 streams. Meanwhile, FGL’s "Life Rolls On" album has five songs that have been streamed between 20 million and 54 million times each.
With those numbers in mind, I wondered whether the crowd would know the new songs well enough to sing along and turn this performance into a party. From what I observed, it was mixed, but I think enough were singing along that Kelley should feel encouraged by the reception.
As with FGL’s songs, Kelley’s solo album is full of creative rhymes. He makes this combination work: “Seen all 50” rhymes with “tanks are empty.” Kelley’s delivery makes the most of his lyrics, too: I love how he slurs together his N’s when he riffs on beach imagery in “Sunburnt, barefoot and in Love,” like he’s dunking his cowboy slang in the surf.
Other songs, like “Say the Word,” are delivered simply, with George Strait confidence, stripping away the layers of Top 40, syrupy FGL harmonies.
Kelley’s new album isn’t trying to break new ground sonically, but that is its own type of creative freedom.
The new persona in his solo lyrics is a personal one. He left Ormond Beach to conquer the music world, and he’s done that with FGL. Through his music, he has returned, on his own, and of all the things he could be singing about, he decided to write "Florida Boy Forever," beginning with this line: “I grew up in Ormond Beach.”

Standing tall for the red, white, and blue as Kelley’s first solo release for Big Machine Records, the patriotic ode continues to make a powerful statement as spotted on Billboard ’s First Country and Entertainment Tonight ’s New Music Releases lists. Capturing the “true essence of what it means to live in the land of the free,” according to CMT , “The timely salute showcases Kelley’s smooth like butter baritone vocals and impressive knack for storytelling, as the steadfast beat is destined to make a mark on listeners’ hearts.” American Songwriter further agrees, “Kelley’s country twang and emotional lyrics are easily relatable,” as he co-wrote “American Spirit” with Jake Rose, Blake Redferrin, and Canaan Smith, with both Kelley and Rose also tagged as producers.

Brian Kelley Reacts to Rumor That 'Kiss My Boots' Is About Tyler Hubbard, Talks New Album (Exclusive)
Brian Kelley says Florida Georgia Line fans can lay back and relax -- because he wasn't throwing shade at his former bandmate, Tyler Hubbard , in his latest single, "Kiss My Boots."
Kelley spoke with ET's Nischelle Turner on Tuesday before the kickoff of CMA Fest at the Chevy Riverfront Stage on Thursday and cleared the air around the speculation that the song was a callout to his former bandmate.
"No, this song was inspired by a ton of different people," Kelley says. "And what I love, the reason I put this song out, is for people to make it their own. I think that's where the most power of a song and art is because you know somebody can see a painting and hear a song and think one thing, and then a group over here can totally think the other."
Fans were quick to question if Kelley was sending subliminal messages to his former bandmate with the lyrics, "I'm crankin' Hank, drinkin' Jack, airin' out the past / Want the world to know that you did me wrong / I don't know how you act sweet, after how you did me / Here's a middle finger to you through a song."
Kelley tells ET, he gets it, but there is a laundry list of other people that he would rather have kiss his boots -- and he knows his fans have one too.
"I totally get how people have definitely tried to frame that," he adds. "I'm just really proud of that song as a songwriter, as an artist. I admire artists that put different kind of songs out there that maybe have a little attitude and show that life isn't always perfect. You go through things and here's a song that people can make their anthem."
Kelley and Hubbard shocked fans in 2022, when they told fans at the Minnesota State Fair that they had just witnessed their last show . According to both of the former members, Kelley was the one who initiated the split . In January 2023, Hubbard told ET that the decision came as a surprise to him.
"I've probably said this before and, you know, for those that don't know, my goal was for everything to move forward, to have, you know, solo outlets and still continue to push FGL and really honor all of our artistry and keep it in the family, and obviously it didn't turn out that way," Kelley says. "And that's OK. We're both really focused on our solo careers and trying to challenge ourselves and at the end of the day, I know we're both having a really good time seeing what we can do, testing ourselves and pushing ourselves and connecting with the fans in a different way, right? I'm proud of both of us."
When it comes to an FGL reunion, Kelley says "you never know," as he and Hubbard are still in communication with each other.
"We've been texting back and forth, you know, talking about, you know, FGL House and different things that have come up," Kelley tells ET. "But the end of the day, my album just came out, his album just came out right before mine, so I know we've both been flying by the seat of our pants trying to get press and do shows and both in a very busy season. I know he's crushing it. I'm proud of him, I wish nothing but the best for him and like you said, fans were heartbroken over FGL, so was I."
He adds, "I see people comment all the time like, 'You should do a song with Tyler Hubbard.' I'm like we got five, six albums out, you know, nice little catalog for people to check out. I hold that same sentiment. You never know what can happen and crazier things have happened and so I hold out hope too."
In the meantime, Kelley is focused on his new music on his latest album, Tennessee Truth -- where the title, the songs, and Kelley's Tennessee roots speak for themselves.
"I took my time with this record," Kelley tells ET. "I wrote eight out of the 12 songs. I have quite a few Tennessee truths and I just thought that was a really cool title. I obviously took that title from 'Kiss My Boots' and just wanted a record title that was different, that wasn't just a song title. And I have a lot of Tennessee roots."
He adds, "I'm just doing what I've always done and putting my life in music and hope people can relate to it and it resonates with them."
When it comes to this weekend's CMA Fest, the "How We're Livin'" crooner is looking forward to making his appearance at the venue with the boys in the band.
"I'm just gonna bring me and the boys and the band," Kelley says about what fans can expect. "We're gonna bring a lot of energy and just put together a nice little set that's fun. Maybe bring it down for a moment or two, give em' a break. But we're just gonna bring the heat and have a great time. Sunday's gonna be an amazing day, hopefully the weather holds up. But this venue right here, this setting right on the river, is such a legendary place to play. I've never done it. It's my first time doing this and I'm just really excited to be running around this stage."
Kelley will be performing on the CMA Fest’s Chevy Riverfront Stage on June 9. His latest album, Tennessee Truth , is out now. The singer is in good company as Megan Moroney, Breland, Gavin DeGraw and Lauren Alaina are also set to perform on the Chevy Riverfront Stage as well.

Luke Bryan on How He's Changing His New Tour to Keep Things Fresh (Exclusive)
Luke Bryan is committed to keeping his consecutive Mind of a Country Boy Tour and Farm Tour fresh for his fans.
Luke Bryan says he will never let his tours get stale!
Talking with ET's Rachel Smith from CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee, over the weekend, the 47-year-old "Love You, Miss You, Mean It" singer said he prioritizes shaking up his shows so that concertgoers aren't getting the same performance they've seen before. As someone who has been performing on tours for years, Bryan knows it's important to put a new spin on the songs fans want to hear.
"We had songs that we did... last year," Bryan shared. "And then we rehearsed them this week for the new tour."
He added, "We have to be careful and not revert back to 2023. That's old news. I mean, this is my year."
For the country singer who has gone out on seven major tours throughout his career, constantly evolving and giving his fans something new is his number one priority. The singer is currently on his Mind of a Country Boy tour and is planning a sudden jump to the Farm Tour in September . His last performance on the former tour is Sept. 14 in Florida and he begins the ladder performances less than a week later in Virginia.
"I like to stay ready," he shared. "I wanna just be like, you call, I'm there. I'm like, you know, Superman in the phone booth."
It's a small price to pay for Bryan, who says he does everything for his fans. Talking with ET, he recalled some of his early years attending CMA Fest and standing outside in the hot sun to sign autographs for as many as eight hours. While looking back on his early career, he said that is one part he does not miss.
Bryan joked that while he loves his fans, if he could have an artificial intelligence [AI] version of him do the grunt work, he absolutely would.
"I let everybody else do stuff for me. I try not to interact with people generally," he joked. "This is actually the AI form of me. The other Luke is, you know, getting his feet rubbed on his tour bus."
Of course, Bryan was joking as he has repeatedly talked about his love for his fans and performing, including at CMA Fest.
Luckily for the country music legend, the performance in Tennessee went worlds better than his April show in Vancouver, Canada, when he slipped onstage after stepping on what appeared to be a fan's phone on the stage, coming down hard on his back.
Bryan hilariously picked himself back up after the now-viral moment and asked the audience, "Did anybody get that?" Being a good sport, he tossed the phone back into the crowd, jokingly adding, "My lawyer will be calling."
He later spoke with ET backstage from American Idol and shared that while it was speculated that a phone caused his fall, he thinks the cause was actually something else entirely.
"Everybody is reporting [about the] cellphone, but I was kind of hamming that up," Bryan said at the time. "I don't think it was a cell phone. I think it was just slick."
Bryan was one of numerous major artists to take the stage during the CMA Fest at Nashville's iconic Ole Red venue for the Spotify House pop-up. The country music event was co-hosted by ET's own Cassie DiLaura and singer Lily Rose, and welcomed artists like Shaboozey , Tanner Adell , Dasha , Lady A , Little Big Town , Tyler Hubbard , Brian Kelley and more.
CMA Fest hosted by Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde airs June 25 on ABC.
