It was a beautiful summer night for American rock band Breaking Benjamin to take the stage here in St.Louis, opening for Disturbed. The perfect lineup! They worked their way from the bottom in 1998, being simply a cover band for artists such as Weezer and The Beatles . This sound was much softer and nothing like their current music. As they moved up with the popular album release “Phobia” in 2006 followed by “Dear Agony” in 2009, Lead singer Benjamin Burnley was the sole consistent band member.

After a hiatus due to Burnley’s health, the band continued to release other incredible hit albums such as “Dark Before Dawn” in 2015 followed by their most recent album “Ember” in 2018. This nearly sold-out show had attendees of all ages, all equally excited for the curtain drop. Opening with one of their classics, “Failure”, everyone was on their feet singing along. Burley went straight into showing off his low growls, sounding identical from over a decade ago. By song two, bassist Aaron Bruch along with guitarist Jasen Rauch came in strong with beautiful harmonies. This was the finest trio vocals I have heard live. Deeper into the set, the crowd was thrilled to hear the intro of “Blow Me Away”, which was also featured in the well-received video game “Halo 2”.

Background visuals elevated the show, especially for this song in particular. The energy then lowered for a heartfelt speech from Burnley about his love for St.Louis, claiming us “A home away from home”. He went into detail with a fresh memory of performing here on their first tour 20 years ago. Finishing off by vocalizing his excitement to return to St.Louis in the future, the audience cheered right back into the set. Rauch of course had an astonishing guitar solo, everyone fist-pumping along the way.

The band naturally closed out with their biggest hit, “The Diary of Jane”. As the most anticipated song, the opening riff had the audience at peak excitement. Every head was banging and every voice was singing. It is always wonderful to see older songs of a band leave such a lingering impact on fans. Breaking Benjamin is a cut above the rest, having multiple of these hits that fans will always adore. The lights began to fade and the energy continued, the crowd eagerly awaiting the main act. This was not just any opener, many fans mainly attending for them. There could not be a better start to the night!

Breaking Benjamin and Bush are teaming up for a Spring 2023 US tour with special guests Another Day Dawns.

The month-long outing kicks off April 26th in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with Breaking Benjamin and Another Day Dawns only. Bush will jump aboard beginning May 2nd in Charleston, West Virginia, and remain on the bill through the tour’s final May 23rd gig in Knoxville, Tennessee.

An artist fan-club pre-sale has already begun, with a Live Nation pre-sale starting Thursday (February 16th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster using the code CHORUS . A general sale starts Friday (February 16th), while fans can also pick up tickets via StubHub .

Breaking Benjamin and Bush toured together last year as part of a triple bill that also included Alice in Chains. It’s been five years since Breaking Benjamin released their last proper studio album, 2018’s Ember , while Bush unveiled their latest LP, The Art of Survival , this past October.

Breaking Benjamin is teaming up with Bush for a tour of the U.S. in Spring of 2023 with special guests Another Day Dawns .

The trek kicks off on April 26 in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with Breaking Benjamin and Another Day Dawns only. Bush will join the trek on May 2 in Charleston, West Virginia. The tour concludes on May 23 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

About Breaking Benjamin

Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, founded in 1999 by lead singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley and drummer Jeremy Hummel. The first lineup of the band also included guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark Klepaski. This lineup released two albums, Saturate (2002) and We Are Not Alone (2004), before Hummel was replaced by Chad Szeliga in 2005. The band released two more studio albums, Phobia (2006) and Dear Agony (2009), before entering an extended hiatus in early 2010 due to Burnley's recurring illnesses. The release of a compilation album amid the hiatus, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin (2011), unauthorized by Burnley, brought about legal trouble within the band resulting in the dismissal of Fink and Klepaski. Szeliga later announced his departure in 2013 citing creative differences. Burnley remained the sole member of the band until late 2014, when the current lineup was announced, including bassist and backing vocalist Aaron Bruch, guitarist and backing vocalist Keith Wallen, guitarist Jasen Rauch, and drummer Shaun Foist. The band afterward released Dark Before Dawn in 2015. Despite significant lineup changes, the band's musical style and lyrical content have remained consistent, with Burnley serving as the primary composer and lead vocalist since the band's inception. The band has commonly been noted for its formulaic hard rock tendencies with angst-heavy lyrics, swelling choruses, and "crunching" guitars. In the United States alone, the band has sold more than 7 million units and yielded three RIAA-certified platinum records, two gold records, and several certified singles, including two multi-platinum, two platinum, and five gold. The band has also produced one number one record on the Billboard 200.

Breaking benjamin announces spring tour with daughtry.

Breaking Benjamin has announced a spring U.S. tour with Daughtry .

The outing launches March 21 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and wraps up April 24 in Lampe, Missouri. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 12; presales begin Wednesday, January 10, at 10 a.m. local time.

Prior to the spring tour, Breaking Benjamin will play a run of acoustic dates beginning January 12 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Disturbed Announce Big 2023 North American Tour With Select Support From Breaking Benjamin, Theory of a Deadman + Jinjer

Disturbed have announced the Take Back Your Life tour with special guests Breaking Benjamin , Theory of a Deadman and Jinjer all providing support at select dates.

The 36-date run kicks off on April 27 in Montreal, Quebec with Theory of a Deadman serving as the lone support act at all Canadian stops. Once the tour crosses the border into the U.S., it's Breaking Benjamin and Jinjer who will be onstage each night through the very last show on Sept. 2 in Noblesville, Indiana.

The trek marks Disturbed's first proper tour since 2019, having worked the festival circuit throughout 2022. They'll be out in support of last year's album,  Divisive , which was anchored by three pre-release tracks — "Hey You," Unstoppable" and the title track. The follow-up to  Evolution ,  Divisive hit No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week while also claiming the No. 1 spots on the outlet's Hard Rock and Alternative Album charts.

Meanwhile, Theory of a Deadman are set to release their new record  Dinosaur on March 17. Breaking Benjamin are still riding high on the back of 2018's  Ember (a reimagined collection of existing songs arrived in 2020 under the title  Aurora ) and Jinjer will continue to tour behind 2021's  Wallflowers .
