Jours fériés : le musée du Louvre est fermé les 1er janvier, 1er mai et 25 décembre. Il est ouvert tous les autres jours fériés, sauf quand ils tombent un mardi, jour de fermeture hebdomadaire. 

A partir du 29 mai 2024, le musée du Louvre sera ouvert jusqu'à 21h tous les mercredis et vendredis soirs.

Billets couplés : Le billet d’entrée au musée du Louvre donne accès gratuitement au musée Delacroix le jour de la réservation au musée du Louvre ou le jour d’ouverture qui suit.

Le billet d'entrée au musée du Louvre vous donne accès aux collections permanentes et aux expositions temporaires, ainsi qu’au musée national Eugène-Delacroix le jour même et le lendemain de votre visite au Louvre.

L'achat sur place est possible en cas de faible affluence et dans la limite des places disponibles.

Les billets sont valables uniquement pour la visite à la date et à l'heure indiquées. Préparez bien votre parcours dans le musée, car toute sortie est définitive.

Symbol of modernity

Quant à savoir quelle attraction ils visitent en premier, eh bien, cela dépend.

Il existe trois façons de découvrir la Tour Eiffel :

Évitez les longues files d'attente et prenez un ascenseur jusqu'au 2ème étage de la Tour Eiffel. Ce billet est le moyen le plus rapide d'explorer l'attraction. COMMANDER MAINTENANT .

Parfait pour les visiteurs qui souhaitent économiser quelques euros et sont suffisamment en forme pour gravir plus de 700 marches jusqu'au 2ème étage de la tour. COMMANDER MAINTENANT .

La Tour Eiffel se trouve à 3.5 km du musée du Louvre, de l'autre côté de la Seine. 

Un taxi peut parcourir cette distance en 10 minutes. 

Si vous décidez de marcher, il vous faudra environ 45 minutes. C'est une jolie promenade, avec la traversée de la rivière au Pont Royal.

Vous avez quatre options pour vous rendre à la Tour Eiffel depuis le musée du Louvre : le métro, le bus, le taxi et une belle promenade tranquille.

Vers la Tour Eiffel en métro

Paris a un service de métro évolué, et presque chaque endroit a une station de métro à moins de 500 mètres (1/3 de mile). 

Pour vous rendre à la Tour Eiffel en métro, vous devez prendre le train Ligne 1 depuis Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre gare et première portée Franklin D. Roosevelt station.

De Franklin D. Roosevelt, vous devez monter à bord d'un train de la ligne 9 pour Alma-Marceau Gare, d'où la Tour Eiffel est à environ 15 minutes à pied. 

L'ensemble du trajet dure environ 25 minutes. 

L'autre option est de descendre à Charles de Gaulle-Étoile , la gare suivante.

Depuis Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, vous pouvez monter à bord d'un train de la ligne 6 jusqu'à Bir-Hakeim Gare, où la Tour Eiffel est à environ 10 minutes à pied.

L'ensemble du trajet dure environ 30 minutes.

En raison du changement de train, nous vous déconseillons de prendre le métro.

Du Louvre à la Tour Eiffel en taxi

Si vous manquez de temps et que l'argent n'est pas un problème, nous vous recommandons de prendre un taxi.

C'est le moyen le plus rapide pour aller du Musée du Louvre à la Tour Eiffel. 

Il n'est pas facile d'appeler un taxi à Paris, mais vous pouvez chercher un station de taxis à proximité . Paris compte environ 750 stations de taxis, il y en a donc toujours une à proximité. 

Les compagnies de taxi telles que  Centrale Taxi Paris ,  Les Taxis G7 , etc., proposent la réservation en ligne.

Cependant, nous recommandons Uber. Par rapport aux taxis parisiens locaux, la plupart des touristes trouvent les chauffeurs Uber plus polis, ponctuels et plus fiables.

Pour environ 13€, un Uber peut vous déposer à la Tour Eiffel. 

Bus pour la Tour Eiffel

Les locaux comme les touristes recommandent vivement le bus n°72 pour se rendre à la Tour Eiffel. 

Ce bus longe la Seine et vous permet de voir ses nombreux ponts et les monuments de la ville le long du parcours. 

Il est préférable de monter à bord du bus au  Arrêt de bus Palais Royal Musée du Louvre , et après neuf arrêts, descendez à  Pont d'Iéna .

Depuis l'arrêt Pont d'Iéna, la Tour Eiffel se trouve à 11 minutes à pied de l'autre côté de la Seine. 

Vérifier RATP , l'opérateur public de transports publics, pour connaître les derniers itinéraires et horaires de bus.

Marcher jusqu'à la Tour Eiffel

Si vous disposez de beaucoup de temps, qu'il fait beau et que vous êtes en bonne santé, marcher jusqu'à la Tour Eiffel n'est pas une mauvaise idée. 

Mais rappelez-vous, vous avez peut-être beaucoup marché en explorant les différentes galeries du Louvre. 

La promenade de 45 minutes longe la Seine et est donc magnifique. 

Visites combinées Louvre et Tour Eiffel

Si une activité supplémentaire ne vous dérange pas, il existe quelques billets combinés, comprenant l'accès au musée du Louvre et à la Tour Eiffel. 

Cette visite commence le matin par une visite de la Tour Eiffel. 

Le guide local vous emmène au 2ème étage de la Tour, après quoi vous êtes seul pour monter au Sommet (le 3ème étage).

La Tour Eiffel augmente son prix d’entrée à partir du 17 juin

Pour pallier les pertes économiques liées à la crise sanitaire, la Sete (Société d’exploitation de la tour Eiffel) avait annoncé il y a quelques semaines l’augmentation des prix d’entrée du monument. Une hausse de 20 % qui va intervenir dès le mois prochain.

Grimper au sommet de la tour Eiffel (VIIe) devient-il un luxe ? Le prix du billet d’entrée dans le plus célèbre des monuments parisiens va bientôt augmenter. Dès le 17 juin, une hausse de 20 % du ticket adulte moyen va ainsi être appliquée. Une mesure qui fait suite aux difficultés financières rencontrées par la société d’exploitation de la tour Eiffel (Sete) pendant la crise sanitaire.

En effet, sur la période 2020-2022, la Sete « a accusé une perte d’exploitation d’environ 113 millions d’euros », est-il rappelé dans une délibération étudiée lors du Conseil de Paris de cette semaine. Précisément, « le chiffre d’affaires de la Sete a fortement baissé en 2020 (26 millions d’euros alors qu’il était prévu à 106 millions). En 2021, le retour des visiteurs a été progressif pour atteindre 2 millions, représentant un chiffre d’affaires de 46 millions d’euros (alors qu’il était prévu un chiffre d’affaires de 114 millions) ».

14,20 euros l’accès au 2e étage par escalier

Outre cette baisse de fréquentation, l’établissement a dû faire face à des frais supplémentaires, notamment la « mise en place de mesures strictes de prévention du plomb dans le cadre de réalisation des travaux de rénovation ». Autant d’éléments qui représentent un important manque à gagner pour la Sete et qui justifie, selon la société, l’augmentation des billets d’entrée.

Par ailleurs, afin de « lisser nos amortissements », expliquait Jean-François Martins, président de la Sete, dans une précédente interview accordée au « Parisien », la délégation de service public qui lie la société à la Ville de Paris (la municipalité est actionnaire à hauteur de 99 %) est prolongée d’une année.

Autres leviers activés, « on remet 145 millions d’euros supplémentaires pour les travaux », ajoutait Jean-François Martins. « La Ville accepte une modification du calcul de la redevance. Il y a ainsi 51 millions d’euros d’abandon de recettes et des efforts de gestion de notre part. »

Who built the Eiffel Tower?

The Eiffel Tower was built from 1887 to 1889 by French engineer Gustave Eiffel , whose company specialized in building metal frameworks and structures. Gustave Eiffel is at the origin of many metallic works in Europe including the Porto Viaduct (Portugal), the Viaduct du Garabit (France) and the Budapest train station (Hungary).

Gustave Eiffel's company, that was located in Levallois Perret, very near Paris, France, also built the metal framework for another world-famous monument: the Statue of Liberty (New York, United States), designed by Auguste Bartholdi and offered to the United States as a gift from France to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence in 1886.

What kind of metal is the Eiffel Tower made of?

The Eiffel Tower is made of iron, not steel. The puddle iron that makes up the Eiffel Tower's structure came from the Pompey forges (East of France). The iron plates and beams produced through the puddling process were then preassembled in the Eiffel factories in Levallois Perret using rivets.

Finally, these pieces were taken to the Eiffel Tower construction site to be mounted. The prefab system is what allowed them to build the Eiffel Tower in a record time of 2 years, 2 months and 5 days.

What is puddle iron?

The iron used to build the Eiffel Tower went through a refining process called puddling which eliminated the excess carbon when the ore was melted. Following this process, you obtain almost pure iron, which was, according to Gustave Eiffel at that time, the best and most robust of materials .

To protect it from corrosion, the iron is covered with a thick coat of paint that has to be renewed every 7 years. This repainting schedule was recommended by Gustave Eiffel himself and is still respected to date.

Why is the Eiffel Tower shaped like the A letter?

We have to first put the Eiffel Tower back in its historical context. It was two engineers who worked in Gustave Eiffel's company who, in 1884, imagined building a metal tower 300 meters high for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris.

These engineers were specialists in large-scale metallic structures like bridges, railway stations, viaducts, etc. It was only natural that the first sketch of the 300-meter Tower, issued from the calculations made by these two engineers, shows a pylon with 4 legs, each made of 4 robust beams linked together by open-web- joists that rise diagonally to meet at the summit.
