Avoid Voyage Prive - complete disgrace

Absolutely shambles & that is putting it politely. I would not advise anyone to use Voyage Prive. We had a 5 night trip ruined with the stress caused by our booking being so badly messed up. They took zero responsibilty and ignored countless attempts to contact the emergency line whilst abroad. Fuming and a disgrace. Just glad I’d not booked that horror show for my daughter or son to go on. They’d not have been safe .

Historic hotel in centre of Florence

Excellent value trip. Interesting old hotel with 600-year history, great location near main station (with efficient new tramway from airport), and so easy to walk around the historic centre of Florence. Friendly helpful staff, plenty of quiet places to sit and read, sweet little courtyard, didn’t use the outside spa/pool as it was February, but the water was warm! Breakfast was a little uninspired, very little hot food, but lots of pastries and breads (why is Florentine bread so tasteless? Maybe as it seems to be salt-free….) Opposite the world’s oldest pharmacy and 2 minutes from the exquisite church Santa Maria Novella. Lots of great trattorias and pizzerias nearby.

The must-sees of Panama !!! 👌🏼

We made a tour through Panama, booked with Voyage Privé and organized by Cacao Travel Agency and it was a super fantastic trip. We saw and stayed in Panama City, Boquete, Bocas del Toro, among others. We have always had different drivers, guides, especially Assyres, Byron, Carlos, and we would like to thank these people for their efforts and one person who really stood head and shoulders above his other colleagues, namely guide Sam Brittons for his knowledge and friendliness, was huge. Keep up the good work Sam!!! and of course not to forget the people of Cacao travel and Voyage Privé for this unforgettable journey.

Still awaiting a refund 5 months on

Booked a package with Voyage Prive to Morocco, the raid was nice, the communication from the company was poor, our balloon ride was cancelled with a variety of excuses provide by local travel company, voyage prive have said they will refund £130, 5 months on and we are still awaiting a refund. Buyers be aware!!

Booking and information was fast and informative. I like the reassurance of back-up if there are any problems. I have booked many holidays and city breaks with VP and always found the hotels to be of a very good standard and there is always a vast selection of flights on offer. Furthermore, I think VP is good value, offers a complete and full holiday experience with very good customer service.

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. If it’s out of hours they invite you to use their WhatsApp messaging service- day 2 and still waiting for a reply. Also used the ‘Contact Us’ form to send them our thoughts on the accommodation we were staying at - only to receive a reply saying we aim to get back to you within ‘72 hours’ - bearing in mind this is a short break we are having - that isn’t acceptable. We have been staying in a ‘recently renovated’ 4 star hotel - which has been misrepresented on their website. The photos are shocking. The hotel is clearly not. VP promise is ‘high end accommodation’. We have had approximately 8 previous holidays with VP, so they clearly do not value their customers.

Voyage Prive simply the best! Highly recommended!

This is the first time we have used Voyage Prive and it won’t be the last! They took care of us at every stage of our holiday- we’ve used a particular U.K. company for our holidays for the past 40 years so it was quite a risk for us to opt out of our comfort zone but we are so pleased that we did. We had a truly 5 experience at a great price, hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed at - wonderful food, great staff, fantastic room and all our requests made to the hotel via Voyage Prive were met I really can’t fault VP great communication, transfers on time and luxurious it really was a holiday to remember so thank you very much Voyage Prive we have already recommended you to our friends which is something we rarely ever do. I big thumbs up from us. Paul

Never had any issue in more than 10 years of use. One thing to be careful: they do not have the 24h cancellation policy, so if you got to excited and mistaken your travel dates, they may not be willing to change for free. (In my case they nicely accepted, but i think it was because the travel was very far from the reservation date)

A perfect stay in Florence

I have used Voyage prive on a number of occasions and always find them very good. Online booking is straight forward - but I have learnt to read every detail especially if there are flights - times of travel and luggage allocation. On this occasion myself and my sister travelled to Florence. Having read previous reviews of the hotel we were lucky to get the tram from the airport direct to our hotel MR Florence Hotel. The hotel was lovely - very clean, the staff were always so helpful and the breakfast was always served fresh with a variety of foods. We were only 3 minutes away from the railway station and 10 minutes away from the City - we so enjoyed our vacation

Lovely Hotel!

Lovely hotel situated a short bus ride from Edinburgh City Centre. Food was excellent having had breakfast and a meal at this Hotel. Lovely clean Hotel and the rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Tea & Coffee and a little cake was also in the room daily! It is those little touches that make the difference. We had a wonderful time at this Hotel and wouldn't hesitate to book in again with Voyage Prive. Many thanks.

The entire trip was a disaster because of their incompetence and lack of transparency.

I had the worst experience with Voyage Privée, and I would strongly advise everyone to stay away from this travel agency. They are nothing but scammers! We paid for a holiday expecting a specific itinerary, but they changed everything without our consent. The entire trip was a disaster because of their incompetence and lack of transparency. The accommodations were not what we were promised, and the activities we had looked forward to were either canceled or substituted with subpar alternatives. When we tried to contact their customer service to address these issues, we were met with unhelpful responses and no solutions. This company ruined what was supposed to be a memorable vacation. Save yourself the trouble and run from Voyage Privée. They are the worst travel agency out there, and they do not care about their customers’ satisfaction. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere!

A great trip

What a fantastic holiday. It was full of surprises firstly to get our own guides, drivers and vehicles as part of our package .We also had various extra's like meals and spa time,massages etc all thrown in unbe-known to us that was a surprise part of the package !!! All the hotels were of a great 5 star standard as advertised. The content of the tours and the knowledge of the guides was good and interesting.Internal flights were all organised and transfers to domestic and international flights were part of the package. Timekeeping by those parties collecting and getting us to the airports was exceptional - they just appeared at the agreed time and off we went. Contact details of the local agents was also available to answer any queries or uncertainties Cant fault any part of the package,a thoroughly enjoyable holiday .

We had a brilliant visit 2 New York booked with Voyage Privé, everything was so easy from downloading the air company app, online check in, hotel request for two rooms side by side - will definitely use these guys again! I tried to DIY the exact same holiday and couldn’t get it anywhere near the price that Voyage Privé were able to!

Pleasant but tired hotel

The staff at Cottage Lodge were very friendly and efficient, the bed was very comfortable, and breakfast choices were good. However, what took the shine off what was my birthday treat for my husband was that the 'snug' welcome room was quite dismal, small, and furnished with just two tables and hard backed chairs The complimentary 'tea and cakes' on arrival turned out to be tea and a slice of cake between two. What could have been a pretty little garden area in front of the room entrance was neglected, so not very welcoming . The back of the door was much in need of a coat of paint, as were parts of the bathroom. The bathroom floor covering was c1970s and showed it.

Absolutely terrible experience - honeymoon

Absolutely terrible. Booked a trip which was our honeymoon, last minute booking but that is besides the point. I booked with full payment (you can’t pay on credit card) and they took The money and then 24 hours later followed up with an email saying that the prices had gone up £450, and then didn’t reply until the next day meaning it was now £710 we had to pay this or be refunded meaning we actually couldn’t go on the holiday as we should not have to pay additional to what we already had. We have cancelled and now have no honeymoon booked.

Useful information readily to hand, interesting destinations and reasonable prices. My last adventure to Barga in Italy turned out to be the best holiday I have ever had in Europe. Great place, great town, great staff and very reasonable. Tout est bien et Pas cher!

3 resort Thailnd holiday

We have just had a three resort holiday in Thiland booked though Vogage Prive, absolutley brillant, everything worked so well all the tranfers from both airport and back and inter hotel transfers were private, all hotels were brilliant, we had half bord in the first two and B & B in the third, I was quite nervous it would all work ok but no need it was fantastic, I would highly recommened as a holiday company.

A beautiful trip to Venice

I recently took my granddaughter to Venice booking everything through Voyage Prive. This was the 4th time I have used this company. The website and app are both easy to use. Everything is well planned and organised. Paperwork is clear. Contact numbers for emergencies are provided before you leave. I am about to use Voyage Prive for the 5th time, to go to Santorini, a clear indication of how we trust this company. Venice was as wonderful as anticipated the second time around.

Friendly and efficient service. A perfect itinerary.

The trip and service that I got exceeded my expectations. We had to make literally last minute amendments - change one of the travellers, changed accommodation and dietary requirements, visas and airplane tickets for the domestic flights. We got support throughout the ordeal by mail, phone and social networks even during the weekend and after dark:). That made the whole trip possible and I could tell the team both in the UK and Vietnam were both driven by the desire to make us feel good. The service was personalised and the itinerary well planned in a way that kept the level of excitement and anticipation high untill the last day. We always felt pampered and taken care of. The journey gave us a sense of understanding Vietnamese people that wouldn't have been possible if we had travelled on our own. The tour guides were very good - friendly, helpful and efficient. The drivers were excellent with clean and comfortable cars. The hotels chosen by the company were all very good - in good locations, design and food.

The most anxiety inducing holiday ever I…

The most anxiety inducing company I have ever dealt with. We booked our Honeymoon in January '24. They called it "Treasures of tge Andaman Sea". When we booked, we were unaware of who the tour company are, but on booking we were sent a confirmation PDF with more details, and the promise that the Tour Company (CEL Tours) would be in contact. They never, ever got in contact. Now that we we knew who the tour company would be, so we could search for reviews. The reviews were not good. So I contacted CEL Tours to ask if the complaints had been addressed and action taken to make the tours better. They never got back to me. So I contacted Voyage Prive who promise on their website 24/7 contact. You can only contact them 9-5 I emailed tgem, they said that they woukd get back to us in 72hrs. It took them 2 weeks to come back to us, just to say that they couldn't get an answer from CEL Tours. Then, via tge Thai Airways website, we found out the flights between Bangkok and Phuket which had been booked with Voyage Prive as Business class, were not business class but Premium Economy. Voyage Prive assured us that they were Business class. Ultimately, we flew to Thailand not knowing where we were staying, not knowing if we would be met at the airport, no contact numbers for their agent in Thailand ..... nothing. All we knew for sure was that we had flights, and even they were not the class of flights we had booked. Ultimately, we were met at the airport and we have had a great time. But the point is that we have never, ever been so underinformed before flying halfway round the world. Saying that we were stressed does not start to describe the start of our honeymoon.

Horrible Experience - Do NOT use this company to book your HOLIDAYS you will regret it

Horrible Experience, Terrible Customer Service I had an awful experience with Voyage Privé and their customer service was terrible. They claimed they couldn't escalate anything and I was unable to speak to anyone other than their unhelpful customer service team. I booked a 5-night stay in Santorini with flights and paid EXTRA to fly from Heathrow at times convenient for me. A few days later, they asked me to change my flights because they weren't confirmed by the 'third party' Voyage Privé used to book them. Since I had only 24 hours to change the flights and it was over the weekend, their customer service was unavailable. I opted for flights from Gatwick to avoid cancelling the holiday. When I spoke to them on Monday, they refused to acknowledge that I had paid extra for better flights and rudely told me it wasn’t their problem. I contacted British Airways and discovered I was booked on flights from both Heathrow AND Gatwick. Voyage Privé told me to fly from Gatwick because Heathrow was not confirmed, despite having e-tickets for both. This whole situation was incredibly confusing and stressful, defeating the purpose of booking a holiday to relax. I would NOT RECOMMEND Voyage Privé. I want a refund for the extra money I paid for my flights. Why offer other flights, take my money, then say BA cancelled them (when they weren’t cancelled) and not provide like-for-like flights or a refund? Do you not value your customers? I will be sharing this experience on social media to ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else. Awful experience.

Disappointing Experience

So devastated that this holiday didnt go as planned. After reading the reviews online, I decided to give Voyage Prive a chance as it seemed people only faced issues when attempting to make alterations to a booking and I didnt plan to do so. Unfortunately I wasnt the one who made the changes... 2 days before we were due to fly to greece, Voyage Prive contacted us and advised that the hotel we had booked through them wasnt even open until 2 days after our arrival. The back-up hotel they arranged was then changed 3 times. It was extremely stressful and we were almost convinced that we wouldnt have a hotel to stay in at all. When we finally got to the hotel that we had booked, it was horrendous. The staff were running around not knowing what they were doing and 90% of the advertised amenities were unavailable for our entire stay. It was very disorganised and certainly didnt provide the calm break we had anticipated when booking. We also booked a room with a private pool which were unable to use due to the pump and filtration not working, this may not have been a problem however it hadnt been cleaned and there was a worm at the bottom for our entire stay. Also, one of the men working to fix the pumps kept taking pictures of me whilst I was sunbathing. Out of the 3 restaurants that were supposed to be open, there was only one. The food being served was atrocious and not labelled at all, so you not only didnt know what you were being offered to eat, but allergies were impossible to cater for.

Disappointing Experience and Terrible Customer Service

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Voyage Privé. On January 23, 2024, I booked a trip for my birthday, including a flight on May 12, 2024, to Dubai (DXB) with a two-day stay and a continuation flight on May 15, 2024, to Muscat. What happened next was simply unacceptable. On the night of May 14 to 15, we got up as planned at 3 a.m. to take our transfer to the airport at 4 a.m., as our flight to Muscat was scheduled to depart at 7:10 a.m. To our great shock, we were informed at the check-in counter that Voyage Privé had rescheduled our flight from May 15, 2024, to May 13, 2024. As a result, we could not board the flight to Muscat on May 15, 2024, unless we purchased a new ticket. This rescheduling is completely incomprehensible to us, as we had specifically booked a stay in Dubai from May 12 to 15. Due to this erroneous rescheduling, we had to purchase two one-way tickets to Muscat at our own expense for nearly $400 to be able to use our hotel stay there. Our replacement flight did not depart until 10:10 a.m., with a three-hour delay. Additionally, we had booked a rental car in Muscat, which we were supposed to pick up at 9:00 a.m. Due to the delay, we missed the pickup time, incurring additional costs of 249 euros. Overall, our additional costs due to this incident amount to approximately 650 $. We repeatedly called the emergency number provided by Voyage Privé, but only an answering machine responded, instructing us to contact them via WhatsApp. To this day, we have not received any response. We are on our trip and no one is getting back to us. If I hadn't taken the initiative to reach out myself, we would have been completely stranded. I strongly advise against booking with Voyage Privé. The customer service is abysmal, and the mistakes and inconveniences we experienced are unacceptable. Voyage Privé ruined our vacation and left us with significant additional costs. Very disappointing!

Our trip to the Maldives was good and the hotel of great quality, but Voyage Privé's customer service was completely non-existant. We filed 2 requests that to date have not yet been adressed, and could not find our way to get an agent on the phone - that's absolutely terrible.

My experience of them is a few years ago now and I found virtually everything cheaper just booking direct (which is why I unsubscribed).. What they omit to say is that their 'savings' are compared with rack rates/full price tickets which no one really pays nowadays. There might be a true bargain on their site somewhere but you'd need to be a bloodhound to find it.

I've looked, but not recently, and never found a deal worth taking. Either I could better the prices by travelling independently, or found much better reviewed and higher standard hotels in the same destination at similar prices.

I booked a hotel with Voyage Privé this morning. I immediately saw that I had made a mistake with the dates. I tried to contact them straight away, but number was always saturated. When I eventually got through the lady advised me to cancel the booking and re-book the same hotel. The cancellation fee they are asking me is 170 euros!!!! Over 30% of the total!! This is disgusting. I am hoping Voyage Privé will make a commercial gesture and or change the date free of charge... Watch this space - I will let you know!!!

It is within their power to offer a gesture of goodwill, but they don't have to if you agreed to terms that included that charge and you were outside any period they allowed for cancellation or amendment without penalty.

Please do come back and let us know what their response was.

I have used them on a number of occasions and if you are selective you can get good hotel/holiday options. Sadly I have appalling customer service and follow up with my current booking to Thailand. The difference from previous bookings is that they were all online and required no further intervention or contact with the VP team. On this trip I needed to make some enquires with them around extra leg room seats and a change to passport name. It is still not resolved over 2 weeks after booking - and we fly in less than 3 weeks. You can NEVER get through on their phone lines - average wait of 15 minutes. No follow through on actions they say they are going to take. I am so frustrated and will never use them again. Extremely sub standard

If things go wrong... No support

In the process of booking an amazing holiday to Costa Rica online, I added luggage which didn't show up on the booking. I immediately tried to sort this out following Voyage Prive guidelines which was to contact the airlines direct even though I had booked a package holiday. I was unable to resolve issue with airline as a number of airlines are involved in the booking. I then contacted customer service at Voyage Privé, who said they would escalate to their flight team and email me. I waited over a week with no communication. I contacted them again to receive apologies and be told they would take "personal responsibility" for getting back to me by a given date. No email received. I contacted them again and was told, check the bag in when you get to the airport but they couldn't advise on costs. I'm left now worrying about escalating costs and will have no option but to pay to get a bag on the plane. It's completely taken any excitement away from what should be a holiday of a life time. I asked about whether to cancel and re book and was told my cancellation fee would be £3500!! I asked to make a complaint which was an online form and logged it. It shows as being resolved without anyone communicating with me or responding to it! So I have nowhere to go with this but to alert other people here, that if things go wrong you will get absolutely no support whatsoever. Never again will I use this company, and that's before I go on a two week holiday with hand luggage!!

UNCLE DIED AND THE FUNERAL CLASHED WITH TRAVEL DATE - THEY WOULDN'T CHANGE THE DATES

My uncle died and the funeral date despite my family's best efforts has been booked for the dates I had planned to take my Mum and daughter away for a well-deserved break. I booked the holiday on the 24th of February, within 7 hours of booking I contacted them to see if I could cancel as my Mum had been suffering with ill health over the last year having had a pacemaker fitted and had just received an appointment for whilst we were away. They said it couldn't be cancelled - there is NO COOLING OFF PERIOD. We managed to move the hospital appointment. However 4 days later my uncle (my Mum's brother died). We have been waiting for the coroner's report to be able to book the funeral and due to the backlog at the coroners only got the death certificate this week to make the funeral arrangements. The only date available to have the funeral is whilst we are travelling. I asked voyage prive if we could move the dates so that we could be back in time for the funeral or even postpone the trip and have been given a BIG FAT COMPUTER SAYS NO. I called the airline who said they could move the flight and I have called the hotel who said they could accommodate a change if the agents contact them. Voyage Prive REFUSE to make an exception on this occasion and responds like decent human beings and have stuck by their policy of no changes. I am a single mother who was trying to treat her Mum and we are now losing £2800 because they refuse to move or refund the holiday given the circumstances. the confirmation email I received said that we could change or modify the reseravtion up to 14 days beofre travel. THIS IS CLEARLY A LIE! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. My mum is devastated and now not only has to deal with the loss of her brother but also the guilt of me losing £2800 to this company.

Horrible Service For Our Honeymoon

Me and my now husband booked a honeymoon (due to fly 7/4/24) through Voyage Prive about four months ago. We noticed about three weeks before we were due to fly that there was a notice on our package saying “awaiting confirmation”. We were confused by this as we had had all of our documents and everything seemed fine. We called them and found out that there were issues with our flights, that they didn’t seem to exist. This seems to be a recurring problem with Ryanair airline but VP was very keen to tell us that it was not their responsibility to contact us regarding any changes to our flights, even though them being the package provider it absolutely is because we never would have known if we hadn’t queried it with them. For the next three weeks we called every day as they searched for another flight. They told us to just “be patient” and even though our case was flagged as “urgent” we received no reassurance or update that anything was being done or that anyone really cared that it was our honeymoon (apart from a nice agent called Valentina who was sympathetic). We finally had an email three days before our honeymoon and the day before our wedding saying that they had found flights for us in an airport three hours away so we declined. It had been left so late that we had no chance to book a new honeymoon, even though I had my eye on other packages with VP and told them this (hoping this would move the process along). Thankfully our wedding was the best thing ever and we have managed to book a minimoon in the meantime but we are so utterly disappointed with the service we received. We had everything set up early to have an amazing time and VP really let us down. The last few weeks before your wedding should be exciting but figuring out what was happening with our honeymoon completely dominated our time and left us stressed and angry. Needless to say we will not be choosing them again for ANY holiday. UPDATE: We have only received part of our refund when we were assured the full amount so we will be chasing this. Very disappointed with the continued lack of customer care. UPDATE #2: We have finally received our full refund after some excuses. We have not had any follow-up contact regarding our experience despite what has been expressed to us.

Title: Misleading Pricing and Lack of Customer Support

I recently booked a holiday through Voyage Prive, which included flights with Wizz Air. During the booking process, I was given the option to include baggage as an optional extra. The website advertised that purchasing the baggage at the time of booking would be cheaper than buying it later. Trusting this information, I decided to purchase 3 x 20kg baggage for a total cost of £360. To my dismay, after making the booking, I received an email from Wizz Air stating that they had a sale on until March 26th, offering the same baggage for only £8. This meant that I had overpaid by £112 per baggage. I contacted Sofija from Voyage Prive to request a refund for the price difference, but she has been evasive and has come up with excuses. She even suggested that the offer from Wizz Air was only valid for a single day (26th February), despite me providing evidence of another email confirming the sale until March 26th. This situation is extremely frustrating, as the website clearly indicated that it would be cheaper to purchase the baggage at the time of booking. It is evident that misrepresentations were made, which is unlawful. I am giving Voyage Prive the opportunity to rectify this matter, but if they fail to do so, I will not hesitate to file a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority. I would strongly advise others not to pay for baggage at the time of booking without first checking directly with the carrier. This experience has left me disappointed with Voyage Prive's misleading pricing and lack of customer support.

FLEX cancellation - BEWARE!

Take screen shots at each stage as you go. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, I had to cancel my accommodation only booking a month in advance but was confident all would be OK as I had Flex which allowed a cancellation up to 48 hours prior to departure. So I cancelled it online, via the VP portal using the big red “CANCEL MY BOOKING” button, as instructed. However, the response did not offer me the Flex option at all, but only to cancel, with refund less a cancellation fee of £375! When later, I queried this with VP, I was advised that I did not have full Flex, but only for date changes. Yet my booking confirmation documents clearly stated both Flex options (changes and cancellation) were available to me. I needed to cancel so I had proceeded and received a system response which told me there was an error and the refund could not be processed as it needed to be “regularised.” Later I received another response which told me my cancellation had been accepted and a refund of £867 would be refunded to my bank account used to make the reservation. It was not. Because I had used a VP voucher from a previous booking, they would only refund the cash payment and the rest was issued on another voucher – and still minus the £375 fee. So, as I pointed out, a mixture of Flex rules (issue a voucher) and Standard T&C’s was being applied here (cancellation charge of 25%). My issue is that I have sent proof that, at some point, Full Flex had been removed from my booking post confirmation to me! I should have been offered the Flex option and received a voucher for the booking total of over £1200 less £65 admin charge. As it stands I am £375 out of pocket. The lesser Flex is still shown on the (now cancelled) booking today, so the system clearly would not have offered me the flex option at cancellation, yet they tell me that they are satisfied that it was offered when I cancelled and that I “chose” to have a refund which incurs the cancellation charge. Furthermore, beware of “Special Conditions” – which are not published anywhere, (and I have asked for them repeatedly and been ignored), but you will only find out about them when you fall foul of them. Little get-out clauses that will be brought into play whenever they choose. Mine applied to the voucher apparently – despite the cancellation being done under standard T&C’s and my being informed that a refund amount of £867 was being paid into my bank account, the voucher part was non-refundable. When I questioned this, I was told it was a “gift” voucher as such it was non-refundable, but these are purchasable vouchers valid for 1 year, whereas mine was a refund voucher valid for 2 years, so cannot be the same. After a previous booking debacle earlier in the year with hold baggage not being included and that costing us over £550 at the respective airports, I would AVOID THIS COMPANY like the Plague. Do yourself a favour avoid the stress and go elsewhere. - Re the VP response, I have had around 20 email exchanges with them and each time they have refused to accept there was any issue with my cancellation. Pointless in trying again.

Mid/Luxury Holiday Budget

Hello all Excluding flights, I am curious what your holiday budget would be for somewhere in the Carribean during mid season. I see various forums about Disney trips etc and people spending 10/15K upwards and it seems extortionate it to me to spend on a holiday anywhere… so I am wondering what you would budget for a luxury holiday to the Carribean.

"Luxury" In the Caribbean will be v expensive, £15/20k +. However mid range can be a lot more reasonable. I go to the Caribbean a lot and have just booked Florida and am horrified by the prices! It depends what you want but a 3/4 star can be got for say £5-7k for a family of 4. You could also look at Air BnB/Vrbo for self catering options. Depends on the island.

Sorry I was talking as a package deal not excluding flights. Decent self catering in Barbados would be say £350 a night but you can go as low as £110.

Thank you @TedWilson - that’s very informative! I spoke to a travel agent regarding what I thought was a fairly reasonable budget and they told me it was nowhere near! I sacrificed holidays for many years to get to the position we are in now, but I am just not sure I feel comfortable parting with so much money! On the other hand, I would prefer to go less often and have a little more “luxury” !

Which island are you interested in?

Also BA and Virgin have both just gone into sale.

It depends on the island and the compromises you want to make. South coast Barbados is cheaper than west for example. You can pick up some good deals last minute if you are willing to chance it. We got a holiday at Windjammer St Lucia (which was fab) for 5k for the two of us which was actually valued at 12k. Some islands more expensive than others.

Some of the AI resorts outside Punta Cana in the Dom. Rep. are pretty nice. They are the value proposition for a “nice” holiday from Canada, but I am not sure what the flights cost from the UK. We love Barbados and stay near Bridgetown (so not the expensive west coast) and eat in local places but it isn’t cheap.

What do you call mid-season, which island do you want to go to and for how many people? We have this season's Disney trip planned for around £10,000 but for 5 people and we're staying in DW.

did you find your deal directly with the hotel or through a travel agent?

Probably November time, after hurricane season but before it gets really expensive in December time. That seems very reasonable for Disney.

It was on hotels.com and we had airmiles to use so after a specific location and St Lucia was what we could get with the companion tickets

I wouldn’t spend over 5k for one week in the Caribbean including premium economy flights for two people.

Me and my husband did a luxury cruise on Regent Seven Seas to the Caribbean a few years ago and it cost us in the region of about 10k for 10 nights. Which is a lot, but it's one of the best experiences we've ever had. SixStarCruises took complete care of us and helped us book the getaway of the lifetime, if you want to check out their Regent Seven Seas Cruises offers. You honestly won't regret it, it is a lot to spend, but it was just unbelievable!

We paid £5k each for 15 days to Antigua all inclusive but it involved cricket tickets plus transfers to and from the ground too , plus some other items. I'd think you'd get somewhere luxurious on most island for 3k That's including flights

    Voyage Prive? Has anyone actually ever used them? Seems too good to be true some of the offers. I have. Went to Paris . Lovely hotel, had a great time . I think I went to Rome as well. My friend went to Budapest with them, vertu pleased with price and hotel. Yes, had a great multi hotel trip with them to Thailand.

    Avoid Voyage Prive - complete disgrace . Absolutely shambles & that is putting it politely. I would not advise anyone to use Voyage Prive. We had a 5 night trip ruined with the stress caused by our booking being so badly messed up. They took zero responsibilty and ignored countless attempts to contact the emergency line whilst abroad.

    An hour of silence later, we contacted Voyage Prive directly, only to be informed that the instructions had been provided in French - a perplexing oversight given our booking was made from the UK. The hotel, advertised as a luxurious 5-star establishment by Voyage Prive, was a letdown, appearing to be a mere 3-star facility at best.
