- The Meteor 350 will be first bike from Royal Enfield to feature the turn-by-turn navigation.
- It is expected to be launched by the end of September.
Royal Enfied, the Chennai based bike maker is gearing up to introduce the all-new Meteor 350 motorcycle in the Indian market soon. It will most likely be launched by the end of September or early October.
The Meteor 350 is going to be RE's first ever bike to be equipped with Tripper Navigation feature which is company's own version of a turn-by-turn navigation system. This is going to be an all-new instrument panel with an analouge speedometer while a digital display will be embedded inside displaying informatics such as odometer, tripmeter, service reminder, fuel bar and clock. This retro instrument console is expected to go well along with the overall appeal of the Meteor 350.
The leaked document suggests that the 'Tripper Navigation' digital dial will be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth and will display road directions directly onto the TFT screen. This feature will be specially helpful for the long distance travelers who love to explore newer destinations on a motorcycle. It is going to be part of the standard kit across all the variants of the motorcycle - Fireball, Stellar and Supernova.

Royal Enfield Tripper: A trip made far easier, here’s how
On the royal enfield meteor 350, the tripper app mirrors google maps. just like google maps, you can set multiple destinations on the tripper, and once you start the navigation, the tripper will keep working even in a no-network area..
The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 motorcycle gets a navigation system called the Tripper. It’s powered by Google Maps and the Royal Enfield app that connects a smartphone with the motorcycle. The Tripper shows driving directions on a digital display via a pod next to the trip computer; there is also a USB charging port for the phone on the motorcycle. So, how does it work? First, you have to download the Royal Enfield app, activate Bluetooth on phone, and switch on the ignition key. Once connected, a Royal Enfield logo in red will pop up on the app, and as you connect it, it will turn green. Now, let’s say, you want to go to a particular restaurant, so you can put that as a destination and the app will give you a selection and you have to hit navigate—just like on Google Maps. Next, the pod will show you turn-by-turn directions. The display is bright, and even under harsh sunlight you can easily see the directions.
The left or right turns on the pod are displayed in the form of big arrows, and as you come closer to the turn, these arrows start getting filled up in a bright shade, so that you know that the turn is approaching—essentially, when you are close to that left or right turn, the arrow starts flashing, and so it catches your peripheral vision and reminds you that you have to take the turn (even though you may not be looking directly at the pod).
Like Google Maps, you can set multiple destinations on the Tripper, and once you start the navigation, the Tripper will keep working even in a no-network area. Like most such apps, the Royal Enfield app, too, may eat up the phone battery fast, but still it’s not as draining on your phone battery as several news apps are, or some like Snapchat and Tinder.

The tripper navigation system sits above in between the speedometer and tachometer and will require an additional bracket to fit, which was spotted last year with the rest of the accessories. The system is expected to be connected to the accessory port that is fitted to the 650 Twins and will be switched off with the motorcycle. It is not yet clear whether the cost of the tripper navigation system includes the bracket or not.

The tripper navigation system is expected to offer several benefits for riders, including easy navigation and real-time route tracking. The system will also provide turn-by-turn directions, making it easier for riders to navigate unfamiliar roads. Additionally, the Tripper Navigation system is expected to be compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

In addition to the tripper navigation system, the Continental GT 650 was recently spotted with LED turn indicators, which will also be available as a genuine accessory. The 650 Twins currently feature halogen turn indicators and tail lamps, but the LED turn indicators are expected to provide brighter and more reliable lighting. The motorcycle was also fitted with a tail tidy and a new circular tail lamp using LED lighting, which will be appreciated by fans of the brand.

Royal Enfield Confirms Tripper Navigation System For Updated Himalayan
Alas, Tripper
It seems like we can’t cover enough news about 300cc-400cc as of late. One day it’s the Honda H’Ness CB350 , the other it’s Royal Enfield’s Meteor 350. Today we have news touching down regarding the newly updated Himalayan for 2021.
At the end of January, Royal Enfield put shipments of the Himalayan on hold for time being, and it left us guessing as to why they would put off dealership orders. We assumed that Royal Enfield was planning on bringing an updated version to market, and it seems like our guesses were correct.
The updated Himalayan will come with a collection of new colorways. R.E. is adding Pine Green, Granite Black and Mirage Silver to the ever-growing lineup of available colors . Last year brought Rock Red, Lake blue and Gravel Grey; meaning you have a total of six unique colorways to pick from depending on how much ‘flash’ you’re comfortable with having on your bike.
The Tripper navigation system is now also confirmed for the bike. I feel like I’ve written 100 speculation posts regarding whether or not this system would be making its way to the Himalayan, but we can finally put rumors to rest as we have information coming from the Indian OEM themselves that it is part of the 2021 model update.
wBW Weekly News Round-Up: May 19-25 Edition
The Tripper navigation system is a gauge cluster pulled straight off of the newly introduced Meteor 350. It’s a turn-by-turn full-color navigation system aimed at keeping you on track without having to break focus to use your smartphone while riding. All of your trip data will be available on this smaller circular TFT display, and it will sync to your phone GPS to provide accurate directions in a timely manner.
The windscreen has seen a size update making it bigger overall and the updated tank supports allow for more legroom if you’re a giant like me.
News sources from India confirm that the sale price of this motorcycle has received a slight hike due to the extra features included and should put the 2021 version at a $100 premium over the previous version. The new Royal Enfield will be available in India and Europe at launch with a price of RS 2.01 Lakh ($2750 USD).

Tripper Navigation deleted from Royal Enfield Meteor & Himalayan
Royal Enfield has also reduced the prices of these models by Rs 5,000.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Himalayan no longer come with Tripper Navigation. The feature has been deleted from the standard package and will only be available as an optional accessory, effective May 1, 2022.
According to the company, Tripper Navigation has been removed from the standard features list due to the ongoing chip shortage. As a result, Royal Enfield has also reduced the prices of these models by Rs 5,000.
As you might be aware, Tripper Navigation was offered as standard on the Meteor 350 and Himalayan, while the Classic 350 and Scram 411 got it as an accessory.
That being said, Royal Enfield has increased the booking amount of its made to order factory models through the MiY (Make it yours) platform from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. However, the regular bookings still stand at Rs. 10,000 as before.
