TaylorMade M2 and M2 Tour Irons: What you need to know

tour series loft

  • The M2 irons are TaylorMade’s “longest iron ever,” according to the company. The M2 Tour irons have a more compact design that doesn’t offer quite as much distance, but allows for more trajectory control.

taylormade m2 iron

  • The M2 irons replace both TaylorMade’s RSi 1 and AeroBurner irons in the company’s product line. They use TaylorMade’s new Fluted hosels, which allowed 3 grams of weight to be moved lower and deeper in the clubheads and improves their feel. A new 360-degree undercut design, which removes weight from the top of the clubheads, also helped move weight lower in the clubheads.

f6863bae054d9afa7a8c9f8017c7071a

  • Like all of TaylorMade’s recent iron launches, the M2 and M2 Tour irons use the company’s Speed Pocket, a urethane-filled slot in the sole of the 3-7 irons.

The soles of the M2 (left) and M2 Tour irons.

The soles of the M2 (left) and M2 Tour irons.

  • TaylorMade has used several different versions of Speed Pockets in its irons in recent years, each of which was designed to offer specific performance benefits. The slot in the M2 and M2 Tour irons is what TaylorMade calls a “Blind Version” of its Speed Pocket. It is located farther from the sole of the club to increase launch angle.
  • The higher-launch of the M2 and M2 Tour irons allowed TaylorMade to strengthen the lofts of the clubs, which increases ball speed and lowers spin for added distance. Despite their stronger lofts (M2 6 iron: 25 degrees, M2 Tour 6 iron: 26.5 degrees), the M2 and M2 Tour irons will fly higher than TaylorMade’s PSi and PSi Tour irons.

TaylorMade's M2 Tour irons.

TaylorMade’s M2 Tour irons.

  • Neither the M2 nor the M2 Tour irons use the company’s Face Slots , a feature added to the company’s PSi and PSi Tour irons that were released late in 2015. According to Tomo Bystedt, TaylorMade’s director of iron product creation, the large, thin faces of the M2 and M2 Tour irons didn’t benefit from the technology, which is most effective in more compact irons such as TaylorMade’s PSi.

8bb69e67b401494ce7c35daa03f2008a

  • Both the M2 and M2 Tour irons use TaylorMade’s Thin-Face, Inverted Cone clubfaces, which improve distance consistency by thickening the center of the clubfaces. The technology helps bad shots fly more similar to good shots.

M2_Irons_Tech

  • According to Bystedt, the M2 irons have a 6 percent larger unsupported face area than the RSi 1 irons. To reduce the vibrations of the more flexible clubfaces, the M2 irons use a new 3-dimensional badge, which has V-shaped struts that improve the sound and feel of the irons. The badges are stiffer than previous TaylorMade iron badges to better dampen vibrations, yet do not compromise the flexing of the clubfaces at impact.

tour series loft

The M2 Tour irons don’t have the fluted-hosel design of the M2 irons, which along with their thinner toplines, soles and reduced offset gives them a more traditional look. The M2 Tour irons also use a satin PVD finish, whereas the M2 irons use a polished PVD finish.

tour series loft

  • Compared to the PSi irons , the M2 Tour irons will create slightly more distance, but will not have the same soft feel at impact.
  • The M2 irons ($799 steel, $899 graphite, 8 pieces) are available Feb. 19. They’re offered in 4-PW, AW, SW and LW. The stock shaft is TaylorMade’s Reax 88 High-Launch (Steel) or M2 Reax Graphite (45L, 55M, 65R, 75S).

  • The M2 Tour Irons ($899 Steel, 8 pieces) will be available March 15. They’re offered in 3-PW, AW, SW. The stock shaft is True Temper’s XP95.

Boy, some like to get upset over things that really don’t affect them at all. Like Taylormade said, the design allowed for them to lower the lofts due to higher launch. I’m betting they would have people complaining how the irons hit it too high now if they kept the loft where they were. I adjust the lofts on my clubs so my spacing is more to my liking. This has been going on before the m2 so why the argument. You are probably not going to buy them anyways. Step into a golf shop and test them out for yourself and see if you like them and get you the results you are looking for. Same argument happened when 300cc plus heads came out and Titanium was being used. Really folks. Come on. So instead of a 6 you hit a 7. There you go.

Aug 9, 2016 at 3:33 am

So my 7-iron goes to high, lets bend the loft down 4 degrees to where the 6 was. Of course, no one stops to think the 6 that was also going too high at that loft. What TM is doing is making a club that gives you a low spinning flyer on every shot, exactly what a good player needs. Control?, we don’t need no stinking control.

I don’t really mind the jacked up lofts of some of these GI irons, but I understand the argument against it, especially when the company strictly markets the set as “longest ever.” What I don’t understand is, if these clubs are made for the mid to high handicapper and the 6 iron has the loft of a 4 iron, why even make a 5, 4, and especially the 3 iron. What percentage of mid to high handicappers can consistently hit a 21.5* iron 10 yards further than the 25* iron in that same set? I fit higher handicappers for clubs all the time and 9 out of 10 times, they can’t hit a traditional 4 iron high enough to even think about holding a green. OK, so the consumer doesn’t buy 8 irons and they fill their bag with two extra wedges and another hybrid…great for them, that is what they should do. Why does the manufacturer even make the 3-5 irons? I really hope it’s not because the manufacturers think that the consumer won’t buy the set if they can’t get 3-PW.

tour series loft

Jan 31, 2016 at 5:46 am

Because they will argue that the lofts accommodate the new lower cg’s they achieve, which I think is BS. Loft has 90% of the say when it comes to height. This can only be good for golfers who over spin or launch it way too high, but you need a bit of swing speed for that unless you’re a special case. They will probably go boast how Dustin hits the “4iron” 300 yards at the coast.

Now I am in the progress of buying new clubs for my wife and she actually ebded looking at TM. Now she hit the RSI 1 which are rather traditional looking and she really likes those. Actually I picked her the RSI and the new M2 irons to hit them on the range on weekend. While the finish of the M2 is interesting, they are quite bulky and the topline is about 30% thicker. The plastic on the back of the club is not giving me the confidence it will stand the time. The RSI on the other side is really nice looking club and I like the Slot technology on the face. What I do like about the Rsi is the fact that GW/AW and SW/LW are more like traditional looking wedges and are slick and sharp. I have not seen the M2 wedges but dont think they will be as nice as the RSI one. Pricewise you look at 20% difference on single clubs. Hosel on the M2 as well as the 25* on 6 iron are just a bad joke. Another reason to go with the RSI 1. It may come down to performance but my wife already prefers the RSi without having hit the M2 yet. We will see.

Makes me wonder who and when what mfgr. will be the first with adjustable irons. They can be adjusted for loft and lie like todays woods. Now that would be really something.

Alright, this is very, very simple everyone. We all have our favorite manufacturers for one reason or another, and we justify it for ourselves and stick to our loyalties. That really doesn’t matter, and no one cares if you love Ping, Titleist, TM, Callaway, Adams, or whatever else…that’s not what’s driving the loft anger. It boils down to this: progressively over the years companies have been labeling the same lofted clubs with progressively lower numbers. i.e., a PW used to be 52* in the 70’s. Titleist’s 716 MB’s (just an example, don’t freak out that I said the ‘T’ word) have a 47* PW. Yes technology has improved in the past 40 years, BUT, companies have also used ‘loft strengthening’ (which is just relabeling the club) to help stroke all our egos and make us feel like MEN because we hit our PWs 150 yards (just using my numbers for an example y’all).

SO, when a company comes out boasting about how long their irons are and you start looking at the data on the clubs and see that clubs with a loft of 25* that was a ~4 iron a few years ago and is now labeled a 6 iron in this set (and others), it really becomes more of a ‘did they really develop anything here, or just relabel their clubs?’ conversation. No one cares how far your hitting your 6 iron, we care about companies rolling out supposed new technology that actually appears that most of the distance gains they’re claiming are just in the changing of the label of the club. Its about wanting to really see the game and technology progressed, not just throwing out gimmicks that all companies are guilty of.

Taylormade gets beat up on a lot because they market a lot wider and more aggressively than most other companies. Pay attention to the number of Taylormade ads for clubs that you see compared to ads for other golf club companies. So when you see them constantly, and they have a super short product cycle, some people start seeing them sort of as the Wal-Mart of golf club companies. There’s a place for them, absolutely, but as we all know not everyone loves Wal-Mart and will lash out against them and their supporters. Then on the flip side you get the Wal-Mart supporters who want to defend the company they’re loyal to…and some of those people come back to this article 5 or 6 times to troll people and spew nonsense ;)…and you end up with the disaster you see throughout this page of people just arguing to argue and it’s not even about what is accurate and correct anymore, but just making the a lot of noise and screaming ‘this company’ ‘no, that company’…rabble rabble rabble.

Make sense?

Jan 28, 2016 at 6:01 pm

I don’t really care about the lofts or the number on the bottom of the club. I am looking to find out if these are a good forgiving club. I can not really find anything on how these are made other than what taylormade says on their site. I am trying to fingure out if these new irons are a gimmick club like the aeroburners or are they a true forgiving workable club like the RSIs. I am in the market for a new set and I would like to get a long but workable set. Should I just get the RSi or should i wait for these to come out. Any input would be very helpful.

Jan 29, 2016 at 1:16 am

You should go hit a wide variety of clubs and stop trying to figure out what works for you by reading things on the internet. It’s a great way to get an idea of what your interested in, but that’s about it. My gut feeling is they’re a gimmick, simply because they’re labeling a 25 degree iron as a 6 iron, which is a 4 iron in most sets, and more traditionally a 3 iron. You said you don’t care about the number or loft…but this is a HUGE red flag if your talking gimmicks. It’s a typical way for companies to say ‘This is the longest iron EVER!!!!! Your 6 iron will go as far as your old 4 iron!!!’ Yep. Sure will. But like I said, GO HIT IT, compare, and keep and open mind. You never know what you’ll actually like and will work best for you, regardless of brand, price, or age of the club without putting numbers side by side.

Jan 29, 2016 at 8:26 am

People with slower swing speeds need more than 4* gaps between clubs to get the 10-15 yards distance gaps. Stop bashing the club based on the lofts until you try them!

Jan 29, 2016 at 5:57 pm

My advise is to go with the RSi as the more traditional looking clubs that you will have fun with. You also can save up to 300$ that you can invest in a wood or driver. Or get yourself extra GW/AW and LW and a 23* JetSpeed hybrid. Then you have a nice golf set h5,6-PW,AW,SW,LW for next 2-3 seasons with reasonable resale value.

Let me tell you the minute you put these in your hand and hit them you will love them. I hit the RSi and PSi along with ping g30 and max and these were smooth, great feel soft high and great distance. I have lost weight due to surgery and lost distance. These clubs make up for my loss. Just purchased them today. Can’t wait to get them.

I recently fell into the Taylor Made wagon, I’m very happy I did. The short product cycle made it possible to find a “just returned” set of PSI irons for 60% of retail, by far the best irons I ever played. The sound and feel are second to none. These are long -PW is 45-, but the shaft fits me PERFECTLY. In my opinion, the perfect club is one that you like and matches your handicap and has a shaft that you can “load” even when your swing is not 100%, or late in the round. I play to a 10 handicap so the heads are not too small, and the shafts are KBS 90, a little higher trajectory, exactly what I needed. In the past I played Mizuno, Bridgestone, Callaway and Titleist, none had full combination user specific characteristics: head look, feel, sound, shaft and grip that fit me.

I just can’t see why no face slots. The face slot is the single only reason I’d consider buying a Taylormade iron, ever. To disclose the face slot from this model seems to me the easy way to make more faster, but I can’t see the difference between these and Burner irons. I’ll not be buying. The drivers are great though, I don’t mean to knock the whole operation.

The lofts are a problem. It isn’t because this will make people feel like they have tour numbers. The problem is the giant gapping by in the short irons. That’s the real disappointment.

Jan 26, 2016 at 9:14 am

It’s not hard to figure out…4-GW is the new 3-P! Why does everyone make a big deal about lofts. My Hogan Apex II E-wedge is 50 degrees, no big deal! Compare that to my Wilson Ci11 P-wedge at 44 degree or my Miura CB-501 p-wedge at 45.

Jan 26, 2016 at 4:16 pm

except its not. they are strengthening lofts so that 4-6 irons have 2-3 * between them while 9 – gw have 5-6* between them.

pretty soon a TM set will consist of 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 9, gw yet they’ll label them 4-gw

tour series loft

Jan 27, 2016 at 4:08 pm

@ Mat is dead on. This obsession with trying to trick us into feeling better because we’ve “never hit a 7 iron that far!” has consequences. When you have 5-6* loft differences from your 8 iron on up, good luck!

Feb 13, 2016 at 9:20 pm

How often do you use your 8 or 9 iron compared to your 7 iron? I use my 7 the most so I would hope its stronger. Could care less about the lofts of the shorter irons.

tour series loft

Jan 25, 2016 at 8:08 pm

The lofts haven’t changed. The labels have. Not a big deal. It’s the status.

Jan 26, 2016 at 1:44 pm

Before the 90’s there really was no such thing as a GW or AW, because PW was 48, 49, and sometimes 50. And then we had SW. Practically the whole world freaked out when they heard you can get a LW at 60 degrees to flip it up in the air. So what were you saying then? Nothing’s been manipulated. 14 clubs is 14 clubs. That hasn’t changed since that rule came into being. You still have to figure out your own gaps in yardages, regardless of what kind of clubs you have up to the 14. If you haven’t figured that out, then it’s time you did.

This type of hype and continuous marketing of new, better than the last Super set we sold you is why I do not buy! To this day I have not found a better set of irons than my 2008 Callaway FT 4-Lob (more traditional lofts and length-these clubs were way ahead of their time), they just work, traditional lofts keep my swing on plane, anything else lets say 1/2 over length or more just plays havoc with my tempo and plane.

I think this is more the parent company mentality than a golf equipment company, Nike same thing, Callaway close and look at the length/loft of the new (intriguing) Wilson D and C-200’s are. It really is as commented on earlier a sad commentary, also that clubs are more important than lessons, I found out the hard way and it wasn’t cheap. 90% of golfers today swing over the top, correct that and you can play just about any club. I guess the real vote is better than my comment, just do not buy!

The loft gaps don’t make sense to me. Compared to drivers though, there is less mass and less materials to work with, so anyone expecting incredible technology advancements in irons is just being unrealistic. The lofts I guess is just the only way anyone can figure out how to create more distance in the irons. For those that are mocking the look and relating it to past models, that’s extremely hypocritical. The only major OEM that redesigns iron appearance is Callaway. PING and Titleist have been creating the same irons for 20 years.

Did you read the article? These aren’t replacing the PSi. These are replacing the RSi 1 and Aeroburner. PSi replaces RSi 2. If only you JUST understood the concept of it.

Concept??? Replacing irons every 4-6 months is not a concept is called robbery!!

2* gaps in the long irons and a 43* PW / 49* AW? What on earth? So you’ll have a 5 yard gap in the long irons and a 20 yard gap where it really counts? Good luck adjusting these lofts if you dare. SNAP goes the clubhead.

Jan 25, 2016 at 9:36 am

a 33* degree 8 iron….hahaha even if it launches high with little spin is anyone going to be able to hold greens?

i think we’re officially to the point where the 4-pw is now the 5-aw.

Jan 25, 2016 at 9:34 am

I hope no one actually buys these. The clubs are over a club stronger than traditional lofts. And a two degree gap between 3, 4, & 5? Lets not even get started on the 43* PW…

Jan 25, 2016 at 12:51 pm

If memory serves me correctly, the Aeroburner iron had a 42* PW. It is crazy though.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. 2* loft gaps between the M2 4 & 5 irons. 5 iron loft is 5* stronger than just 10 years ago. Then the same loft was a 3 iron. Irons are for precision, not distance. It goes to show how gullible the golfing public is.

Titleist 716 AP1 has a 43* PW and that came out last year, yet no one complains about that.

I couldn’t care less about Titleist GI irons, I guess no one else does either.

Why We Like It

Built for speed and low spin (and the elite players who benefit most from those characteristics), this head uses a lightweight titanium face and body and a lighter carbon-composite crown to set up the structure for a lower center of gravity. Completing that mission is a central, keel-shaped ridge on the sole that has a 75-gram steel plate and a 15-gram adjustable weight. Combined, these features push the CG low and forward for optimal launch and maximum distance. The angled shape of the sole ridge also improves turf interaction.

More on this club

Characteristics

  • The fast-flexing and light titanium face has rows of diamond-shaped indentations to create more flex zones at impact.
  • The lightweight carbon-composite crown and 75-gram steel sole plate improves energy transfer and reduces spin.
  • Front and rear weight ports in the sole allow for the heavier weight to reduce spin (forward) or boost forgiveness (rear).
  • 13, 15, 18 degrees (with an eight-way adjustable hosel)
  • Top 5 best-rated fairway woods, high-handicaps

Performance

Look / sound / feel, golf digest logo hot list players feedback.

Ratings are based on players’ assessments in three key performance areas.

Ball Flight

Playability.

Great sound with good feel. It's pleasing to the eyes, ears and hands. A repeatable medium to high flight. Very forgiving. It covers up my mistakes and has excellent turf interaction.

Compact head. Sits square at address with minimal movement. It has a nice pop to it when I really connect. Produces a mid ball flight that is pleasing to the eye. A very workable club that better players will be able to attack for maximum performance, yet still forgiving enough that mis-hits are playable.

Whippy, snappy contact—kind of a rebound effect. A good center strike results in a steady rising, linear trajectory.

Swing Your Fairway Wood with Confidence

One of the more difficult shots amateurs face is the long approach that requires a fairway wood. Most players aren’t confident hitting a 3-wood off the ground, and they don’t practice the shot enough to build confidence. In this video, Jason Birnbaum shares his best confidence-building techniques and tips on how to make a solid contact with these long clubs.

Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 & E524 Irons Review

More in irons:.

tour series loft

50 Words or Less

The Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 irons are strong game improvement irons with good forgiveness.  The Tour Edge Hot Launch E524 irons take consistency to the extreme, almost daring you to try to get a bad result.

tour series loft

Introduction

Last year, Drew examined the Hot Launch C523 and E523 irons [review HERE ] and found them worthy of Tour Edge’s slogan, “Golf’s Most Solid Investment.”  New for 2024 are the aptly named Hot Launch C524 and E524 irons.  While the name and the look have changed, the mission is the same: delivering high performance clubs at a price that’s about half what you’ll pay from other OEMs.

tour series loft

The “C” in Tour Edge Hot Launch C524  stands for “Competition.”  That means this is the set designed for more skilled players, at least compared to the E524.  At address, this iron set features a very thick, boxy top line and a significant amount of offset.  The blade length is about average, but the overall impression is that this is a big club meant to forgive mishits.

tour series loft

“E” in Tour Edge Hot Launch E524 irons stands for “Extreme Spec,” referring to extreme performance and forgiveness.  This focus on forgiveness is immediately obvious from the Iron-Wood design.  These are very big irons with huge, rounded faces which should fill golfers with confidence.  There is a great deal of offset in these irons, and the back of the club protrudes from behind the thick top lines.

tour series loft

Comparing the 7 irons side-by-side, you can see that the C524 (left) actually has a slightly thicker top line, but it doesn’t have any “extra” behind it.  Both irons have similar offset .  The leading edge of the E524 is more rounded – a subtle difference that, to my eye, helps to make the face look larger.

tour series loft

Sound & Feel

I started my testing with the Tour Edge Hot Launch E524 irons and was shocked by the sound and feel .  Given the hollow body design, I was expecting a loud, hollow sound and a feel that was quick and explosive.  Instead, I got a surprisingly soft, solid feel and a quiet impact sound that’s closer to a “thud” than the “pop” I was expecting.  The sound did get louder as I worked into the long irons, but the feel remained solid.

Check out the new Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 & E524 drivers HERE

tour series loft

Having had my expectations rewired by the E524, the Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 irons had a high bar to clear.  Thankfully, they delivered the same traditional impact sensations as their larger brother.  The feel is more solid and soft than quick or explosive, and the sound is quiet throughout the set.

Both sets also share the desire to make you feel good about every swing .  While you can feel the impact location through your hands, the sound of impact doesn’t change dramatically from flush shots to mishits.  Additionally, mishits don’t sting – the character of the feel is very similar across the face.

tour series loft

Performance

I tested these two iron sets in parallel to evaluate their similarities and differences.  I’ll dive into the specifics, but my overall takeaway is that Tour Edge did a great job creating two sets that are highly forgiving while also being clearly differentiated .

tour series loft

Starting with the wedges, I noticed immediately that the Tour Edge Hot Launch E524 irons spin quite a bit.  This was a pleasant surprise as I expected this set to be all about distance.  When I looked at the specs, I saw that the lofts are strong but not near the “cutting edge” of strong lofts.  The E524 irons put more emphasis on consistency rather than raw distance.

tour series loft

Switching to the Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 irons, I saw slightly lower launch and spin , but both were still higher than expected.  The pitching wedge is one degree weaker in the C524 – 44 degrees – which is bordering on weak by today’s standards.  Again, this points to a focus on consistency and forgiveness.  Every shot I hit with this wedge went straight and carried a similar distance.

tour series loft

Moving into the mid irons, the extreme forgiveness of the E524 irons really started to show.  I had a series of three shots that were flush, low heel, and on the toe, yet each one landed within a couple yards of the others.  The launch angles were extremely consistent, even when the contact wasn’t.  The mid irons is also where this set’s draw bias really started to show, pulling most shots to the left of the center line.  This anti-slice tendency will be a boon for most high handicap players.

tour series loft

Changing back to the Hot Launch C524 irons, the launch and spin were lower despite the weaker lofts.  The lofts on the C524 irons are three degrees weaker from 4I-8I, but this difference is balanced by the Iron-Wood design of the E524.  For me, the C524 irons were slightly longer , but the forgiveness was still very good.  My notes state, “Impact location barely matters,” reflecting the consistency of the ball speed and carry distances.

tour series loft

The two sets showed the most difference in the longest irons.  The E524 4I is one of the easiest-to-launch long irons I’ve ever hit .  In contrast, I found the C524 to launch lower, and it required more effort.  Looking at the big picture, the C524 4I is still fairly easy to hit, but it’s nowhere near the E524.

tour series loft

Overall, both the Hot Launch C524 irons and the Hot Launch E524 irons are forgiving and consistent , but the E524 takes it to a much higher level.  The E524 irons are in the “You need to try to get a bad result” class.  Players with more speed may find more distance in the C524.  As always, getting a fitting is the only sure way to find the set up that will maximize your abilities.

tour series loft

The Tour Edge Hot Launch family continues to be a champion for golfers seeking the most bang for their buck.  In the Hot Launch C524 irons, players will find a set that’s forgiving and consistent without fully abandoning a traditional look.  Those that want extreme forgiveness and maximum fun should look to the Hot Launch E524 irons.

The entire 524 lineup intrigues me this year. Will you be reviewing the fairways too at some point? I saw the C524 fairway and nearly bought it immediately. based on looks alone.

' src=

Yes, we are reviewing the entire line.

' src=

Matt, are the specs reversed? Your comments on the E524 4I say 20 degrees but chart says 23 degrees.

Thank you for the note. The specs are correct, I made an error (now corrected) in my text.

' src=

Really enjoyed and appreciate the comprehensive review of the Tour Edge 524 irons. Have been considering a purchase after my fitting At 70+, my swing is slowing down so I need some distance help

' src=

What about a mix of C and E? I’m thinking 4, 5, 6 in the E and 7-GW IN C. Simply because I struggle hitting longer irons. Will distance gapping be affected? I have a E521 4 iron now, plus a 5 wood and 3 wood. All Tour Edge. Have never had any luck with hybrid. I’m 71 years old.

It’s worth exploring, but I would definitely want to check out those distance gaps in a fitting. Or, at a minimum, have a connection to a good fitter who can bend the irons to blend well if need be.

I forgot to mention. The footprint of the E521 4i I have doesn’t draw attention to it. Having played Integra iDrive hybrid irons in the past, the tour edge E clubs are just fine. They are easily distinguishable from actual hybrids. I’ve been a Tour Edge guy since first purchasing the EXS220 irons. See nothing out there to give me a reason to change.

' src=

Hi How do these compare to the C522 you reviewed?

In what regard?

Hi Is there a noticeable improvement over the C522?

They’re not night and day different, no. Are there incremental improvements? I would say yes. As always, my advice to anyone looking to “upgrade” would be to test your current gear against the new stuff in a fitting to see if the improvements are worth the money.

My players are Tour Edge EXS 220. Have been very pleased with them, but now after five years and hundreds of hits, it’s time to upgrade. Did you review the EXS 220 back then? I know technology has come a long way. How would you compare the C524 with the EXS 220?

I did not review the EXS 220 irons.

C. Cassady reviewed this product on 07/17/04 I bought a full set of the TM Series 6+ irons and 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges. I was blown away by there performance! Shortly after I began playing my new irons I decided to purchase the TM Series 6+ titanium driver in 10 degree and the 3 and 5 fairway woods...talk about the cherry on top. Unbelievable performance, unbelievable price!
Richard Archer (North West of England) reviewed this product on 07/02/04 The clubs were delivered this afternoon. What a speedy service! Oregon to Chester, UK in under 5 days! The irons were well packaged and look the business! I am replacing my TaylorMade Super Steels with this TMS 6+ iron set and am looking forward to giving them a go this weekend. Shall send further e-mail when I've swung them a few times. For now, a great big thank you to Pinemeadow for an A+ service at a terrific price!!!!!!!
Emile Dyson reviewed this product on 04/18/04 I've only been playing the "game" for about a year...purchased my clubs through you and have noticed a great improvement...my only question is now that I've looked at the clubs again....I noticed that I didn't receive a lob wedge with my order????what gives? BTW: purchased mine over 6months ago.
tony vagabond reviewed this product on 02/23/04 After Drooling over the Ping I-3s i knew i needed a new set of irons but was not going to pay way to much money just for the name. Found Pinmedow online and ordered the Series 6 Irons i have now played 4 rounds with them and my game is 5 strokes better and i feel more confident with each round i play. my golf buddies said i was wasting my money, well so far 2 of them have ordered the same clubs thanks pinemedow for making golf better for the working class man.
Trevor J. Stables reviewed this product on 10/13/03 I have had these irons now for about six weeks. I decided to purchase them as i am on a limited budget and wanted to upgrade. I initially knocked ten shots off my handicap (28-18). Today I played them and broke 90 for the fidst time, in fact I smashed it with an 83. These irons are great, they look good, feel good and are forgiving. I would recommend them for all levels of competence. Thanks pine meadow! I shall be saving up for some new woods! Does anybody know the difference between a Callaway Big Bertha 1996 sand or lob wedge and a Callaway Big Bertha " tour series " sand or lob wedge from 1996 or 1997 ?

I've gotten a couple of pictures, but can't find any reviews comparing the two.

From pictures, it appears that the BB Tour has smoother, perimeter weighting,

image.png.f6533c6b6140b983bde358c6751ff801.png

while the basic BB has more deep-cavity design. Cosmetically, basic BB has more muted brushed nickel finish vs. silvery TS finish.

No, I cannot find any reviews either comparing the two versions .....

I have 3 - SW and I want a lob wedge and maybe an approach wedge also .

And since I live in Sweden I probably have to order the club from the US which will be pretty expensive with shipping and custom fees .....

Well, I've never held let alone seen the tour series I do have a set SW from the 1997 Callaway Bertha Golds.  The Bertha Golds are the exact same design as the regular Berthas, but made from Aluminum Bronze.  From what I see, the set SW does have a deep undercavity design like ChipNRun mentioned but from what I see the wedges from the set Berthas has a lot more bounce than the Tour Series Counterparts.

"The Callaway Big Bertha Tour Series wedge is designed for middle- and low-handicap amateurs as well as top pros, the Tour Series Wedges incorporate key Big Bertha technologies like the Short Straight Hollow Hosel (S2H2) and Tru-Bore into a more traditional club design. Its reduced bounce angle makes shots from tight lies easier to handle.Co-designed by Roger Cleveland & Richard C. Helmstetter, two of the industry's most accomplished golf club designers, this is a classic wedge with some added features to improve performance."

Bottom line, the Tour Series wedges are a more serious, specialty version of their set counterparts.

Post Malone's concert tour coming to Fenway Park in Boston

By Neal Riley

June 25, 2024 / 10:37 AM EDT / CBS Boston

BOSTON - Post Malone is bringing his concert tour to Fenway Park in Boston later this summer.

The Grammy-nominated artist is playing 21 shows to mark the release of his first country album "F-1 Trillion." His Fenway concert is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Post Malone concert tickets

Tickets will start to become available on Wednesday with a Citi Presale. They go on sale to the general public on Monday at 10 a.m.

There's no word yet if Post Malone will be joined by another other opening or guest artists for the performance.

Post Malone's first single "I Had Some Help" from his new album went to the top of the country charts. He also teamed up with Taylor Swift earlier this year on her new single "Fortnight."

Fenway Park summer concert series

Fenway is welcoming a host of big names this year. The summer concert series kicked off last Thursday with a rain-shortened Lana Del Rey show , followed by a Hootie & The Blowfish concert.

The next concerts at the iconic ballpark will be played by Watertown resident and New England native Noah Kahan on July 18 and July 19. He'll be followed by Kane Brown on July 20, Foo Fighters on July 21 and blink-182 on July 23.

In August Def Leppard and Journey will play Fenway on Aug. 5 and Green Day will perform Aug. 17. The only other shows scheduled in September besides Post Malone are Pearl Jam on Sept. 15 and Sept. 17.

Neal J. Riley is a digital producer for CBS Boston. He has been with WBZ-TV since 2014. His work has appeared in The Boston Globe and The San Francisco Chronicle. Neal is a graduate of Boston University.

50 years later, 'Little House on the Prairie' television series remains beloved by fans

tour series loft

Fifty years ago, Melissa Gilbert's soft voice graced television screens throughout the country for the first time as she narrated the opening lines of the beloved western series, "Little House on the Prairie."

"If I had a remembrance book, I would mark down how it was when we left our little house in the big woods to go west to Indian territory," Gilbert says in the pilot episode of the nine-season series. Gilbert is popularly known for her role as Laura Ingalls Wilder, the narrator of the series and author of the autobiographical book series on which the television show is based.

The pilot episode of "Little House on the Prairie" first aired on March 30, 1974, and this year, several cast members are traveling throughout the country for a 50th anniversary tour. Dean Butler, who played Almanzo James Wilder (Laura's love interest) is visiting the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum in Mansfield for the annual Wilder Day celebration Sept. 27-28. Butler will be available for photo-ops and autographs. He'll also be promoting his new memoir, "Prairie Man: My Little House Life & Beyond."

In addition to Butler, Gilbert, Karen Grassle (Caroline Ingalls), Rachel Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush (Carrie), Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson), Jonathan Gilbert (Willie Oleson), Wendi Lou Lee and Brenda Turnbaugh (Grace Ingalls), Lucy Lee Flippin (Eliza Jane Wilder), and Jennifer and Michelle Steffin (Rose Wilder), are part of the anniversary tour, according to USA Today reporting .

Nicholas Inman, executive director of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum, described the series' cast as "ambassadors" for both the original "Little House" books and Wilder herself.

Considered the longest running scripted primetime television drama of its time, the "Little House" universe is comprised of an hour-and-a-half pilot, 204 episodes and three made-for-television movies, according to the Little House on the Prairie website . The final movie, "Little House: Bless All the Dear Children," aired in 1984. Over the years, the series won 17 Emmys, three Golden Globes and two Western Heritage Awards.

A later start in Mansfield

Although much of the plot, and even some of the characters, are fictionalized in the television series, the foundation of "Little House" is derived from the original nine books Wilder published about growing up in the West.

It wasn't until later in her life that Wilder began to write the books she is so well known for. The first "Little House" book, titled "Little House in the Big Woods," was published in 1932. Wilder was 65. The final book in the series, "The First Four Years," was published in 1971, after Wilder's death in 1957 at age 90.

Wilder wrote each of the nine books at her home in Mansfield, which is today a part of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum. Although fans may be more familiar with the white, two-story farmhouse that overlooks the museum's parking lot today, Wilder wrote her books in the Rock House , which also sits on the museum property. Wilder's daughter, Rose Wilder Lane, also an accomplished writer, had the home built for her parents.

How did the television series get started?

The "Little House" television series first aired only three years after the final book of the series was published.

According to Britannica , the television series was developed by screenwriter Blanche Hanalis and NBC executive producer Ed Friendly, as Friendly had acquired the rights to seven of the "Little House" books. Michael Landon, who played Wilder's father, Charles Ingalls, was the first actor to sign onto the project. He also served as a producer, writer and executive producer of the series over the years.

Friendly preferred to stay true to Wilder's books, according to Britannica , but Landon approved of "sacrificing historical accuracy in an effort to make the storylines more engaging for viewers." In the end, Friendly and Landon's disagreement on this matter led to Friendly leaving the show altogether.

Several key fictionalizations included sister Mary Ingalls' marriage to her schoolteacher, the death of Mary's baby in a fire and the Ingalls family's adoption of three more children. The Carter family, who move into the Ingalls' home, and Jenny, Almanzo's niece, are also fictional characters.

Inman said he often meets "purist" fans of both the book series and television series at the museum. On multiple occasions he has met fans who are interested in learning more about characters who were fictionalized for the television series. Even after explaining that these beloved characters did not exist in real life, some fans still chose to believe they were based on true people.

How television elevated the series' story

Inman still recalls reading his first "Little House" book in the third grade. It was the second book the series, "Farmer Boy," based on Almanzo's childhood.

Inman said that as a kid, he enjoyed taking in the book's illustrations, created by Garth Williams, and watching the television series elevated his connection to the characters.

"To go a step further from the illustrations to see them materialized into a real-life character, I think that's one reason why it was so exciting for people," Inman said. "I think it really allowed them to explore the characters in a different level, in a different way and to bring them to life off the page."

Where can you watch 'Little House'?

"Little House" can be streamed with a subscription on Peacock, Philo, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Fandango.

Visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum is located at 3060 Highway A in Mansfield, which is about an hour's drive east of Springfield. The property is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12:30-5 p.m. Sunday from March 1 through Nov. 15.

Admission to the museum and homes is $18 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-17 and free for children under 5. The museum provides both guided and self-guided tours. Pets are not allowed on the property.

How Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel 'Have Moved on' from His DWI Arrest: Source (Exclusive)

Timberlake is in the midst of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, while Biel is filming 'The Better Sister,' an upcoming Prime Video series

Jerritt Clark/Getty

Justin Timberlake 's DWI arrest is in the past for him and wife Jessica Biel .

About a week after the "SexyBack" singer, 43, was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York for allegedly driving while intoxicated , a source tells PEOPLE the married couple isn't sweating the ongoing legal matter at the moment — and instead focusing on their personal and professional lives.

"They’re always supportive of each other’s careers," says the insider, after Biel was recently spotted dancing in the crowd of Timberlake's Forget Tomorrow World Tour stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City. (She also helped taste-test candy backstage .)

Jerritt Clark/Getty Images

"Jess would never miss a show when she’s able to attend," adds the source. "She’s excited for him."

While Timberlake's on tour, Biel is currently in New York City filming The Better Sister , an upcoming Prime Video series based on a 2019 novel by Alafair Burke that also stars Elizabeth Banks and Corey Stoll. Banks was also in attendance at the Madison Square Garden concert.

"They’ve moved on from the arrest. They have faith in their legal team and continue to focus on work and their family instead," says the insider, before adding of The Better Sister : "Jess enjoys filming and is excited about the project."

Timberlake was arrested June 18 on DWI charges after hanging out with pals at  the American Hotel in Sag Harbor . He was pulled over after leaving the establishment to drive to a friend's house and charged with one count of DWI and two citations — one for running a stop sign and one for failure to keep in lane.

Five days after his arrest, Timberlake — who's due back in court July 26 — took a moment between songs during his June 22 show at Chicago's United Center to speak with the audience about their support , as well as the "fellowship and the love of what is almost three decades together."

"This [tour] is just something that keeps watching over me, more so on this tour than any other," said the Grammy winner on stage. "And that's that mostly all of us here in this room tonight, in this arena tonight, have grown up together. So many of you come up to me and say, 'I grew up with you, man.'"

Kevin Mazur/Getty

"... I want each and every one of you to know I've grown up with you," Timberlake added. "You have been such a big and beautiful part of my life and sometimes I can't find the words to show my gratitude that you guys just keep riding with me and riding with me."

The *NSYNC member then shouted out fans, no matter when they started listening to his music, for being "here right now, and I just wanna say you guys keep loving me and coming back and spending and sharing this experience with me."

"And from the bottom of my heart, I want you to know that until I'm somewhere off this earth, I will never forget each and every one of you," Timberlake said. "You made my life so special. And tonight in Chicago, you have made us feel loved."
