tour helico new york

This was the highlight of our trip to New York to celebrate our daughter’s 18th and a ‘big birthday’ of mine. We were lucky to have Andy Woods as our pilot that day - I was a wee bit worried but needn’t have been. He was so reassuring and such great fun! Made it a totally unforgettable experience. The views of the City were stunning and daughter is saving hard to return and do it all again as soon as possible!

tour helico new york

I bought my husband and I the helicopter flight as a wedding gift and it was one of the first things we did in New York. I was nervous to begin with, but I sat with the pilot, Andrew, who calmed my nerves. The flight was absolutely amazing and the best way to see New York! Andrew the pilot was so friendly and you could tell he loves his job which made it an even better flight.

tour helico new york

We were on a sightseeing holiday in New York and decided to take a helicopter ride and all I can say is WOW! From the guys on the ground to Andy, our pilot, everyone is there to make sure you have a memorable experience and all take the time to chat and laugh with you. An outstanding experience from beginning to end and it’s obvious from talking with Andy that he absolutely loves his job!

tour helico new york

This was an incredible highlight of mine and my sister's recent trip to NYC. Andrew our pilot was brilliant, so friendly, funny and pointed out all the best sights across the city. Both of us had great views and the experience was great. The guys at the base were quite friendly and I also got a great photo from the experience. This was a gift from my sister for my birthday and it definitely made my day and I'll not forget this for a long time!!

Why is it worth taking a helicopter tour over New York?

The city's skyline is a spectacle in itself, even more so from a helicopter flight over New York. Moreover, it is a unique experience, in which the wonderful views come together with the adrenaline of flying in a helicopter over New York at more than 200 kilometers per hour.

Book your helicopter flight over New York

Information about helicopter flights in New York City

Helicopter model.

The helicopter used by most operators for the New York helicopter tour is the Eurocopter/Airbus AS350B2 , recognizable by its red color. Extended duration flights and VIP flights use the Bell 206L4 and Bell 407GX.

Most tours work with two operators: Liberty Helicopters and Zip Aviation . Both companies have passed strict safety certifications and apply them to all their experiences, which vary only in duration and route. These are closed helicopter flights in which you will not be able to lean out of the window or get out of the aircraft at any time.

All the helicopter tours I have recommended are perfectly safe , and I have made sure that they are organized by operators who have a series of safety certificates.

It is important to note that on the helicopter flight in New York, you will not fly over buildings. All routes follow the Hudson River and some follow the East River to give you panoramic views of the city, but in no case will you see the skyscrapers up close.

Special Christmas flight

If you spend Christmas in New York , one of the things you want to do is to see the Christmas lights. How about doing it from the air? This time of year you can book a helicopter flight to see the Christmas lights from New Jersey for a unique experience.

What you should know before booking

How are seats distributed on the flight.

Seats are assigned according to the weight of the passengers , which should be evenly distributed in the helicopter. They will not be final until the moment of the flight, as each person's belongings must be taken into account. For this reason, you cannot choose your seat on the flight, although you can communicate your preference to the operator.

How many people can fit in a helicopter?

5 to 6 people , not including the pilot. Tour operators can organize groups of up to 9 people, and make a distribution in two groups at the time of the helicopter flight over New York.

How does the booking work?

When you book, you purchase a voucher that is valid for the duration of your stay in New York and has an indicative date and time. Once you are in New York, you will need to reconfirm with the operator by calling their US number (which will appear on your voucher).

Once you purchase your voucher, you will be given instructions on how to set the date and time of your tour with the operator. If you have any problems or do not speak the language, Hellotickets can contact the operator and confirm for you.

How do I contact the operator?

You can do this from the hotel or contact Hellotickets to do it for you. Therefore, I recommend that you make the reservation for the first day you arrive in New York, and then set the date that suits you best with the operator. This way, you will have a margin to do the tour in case of bad weather.

Can I choose my flight time?

For most flights, once you have booked, you confirm with the operator a day and they will suggest a time . If it doesn't suit you, you can talk to the operator to change it if other options are available.

Book your helicopter flight in New York

What is the best time for a helicopter flight in New York?

It depends on the view you want to have. If you want to see New York's buildings in all their splendor, and see the city expand to the horizon, try to get a time close to noon . If you want to see the city covered in sunset light and the first evening lights, try to pick a time at the end of the day. Normally, tours are not offered past 8:00 p.m.

Alex's Traveller Tip For all helicopter experiences, without exception, you will need to pay an extra fee at the heliport, which is always $40 per person.

Arrange your helicopter flight in New York City

Where do helicopter flights depart from in new york.

Helicopter tours depart from the heliport located in Downtown Manhattan , at the southernmost point of Manhattan. You will recognize the place by the constant noise of helicopters taking off and landing, and the helicopters you will see flying around, plus it is quite well signposted .

  • Address: 6 E River Bikeway, New York, NY 10004
  • Nearest subway: Whitehall St
  • Located on the East River, south of the Brooklyn Bridge.

What time should I arrive at the heliport?

It is best to be there 15 minutes before your flight time, to have everything ready in advance, and most importantly to go feeling the nerves before you get on the helicopter!

What can I take with me on the tour?

All bags and backpacks are stored in lockers, so do not take anything too big or valuable . Take your passport, the $40 per person heliport fee, and about $5 for the locker. You can ride in the helicopter with your phone and camera .

What documentation do I need?

You will need to bring your passport and present it before boarding the helicopter. This is a must, so be sure to bring it!

Can I ask for pictures of my tour?

Most operators offer a photo service with photos of what you will see from the helicopter and a photo at the heliport.

Where to eat after the flight

Since none of the tours include food and the Manhattan helicopter flight may make you a little hungry, here are a few recommended restaurants near the heliport :

  • Thunder Bun - a 5 minute walk from the Downtown heliport, and if you're looking for fast food like burgers or sandwiches but in style, this is the place for you.
  • Pranzo Pizza & Pasta - a neighborhood restaurant where you can find the classic New York pizza slice, pasta, and Italian-style sandwiches.
  • Mad Dog & Beans - a Mexican food restaurant known for its friendly waiters, guacamole, and generous portions, and is only 7 minutes from the heliport.
  • Leo's Bagels - the perfect choice if you're flying the helicopter around noontime, as you can stop by for a pastrami brunch, egg sandwich, or typical New York bagel.

Latest tips

You're probably thinking about taking photos to immortalize your helicopter ride , so to get the perfect shot keep in mind that you'll be in constant motion and the helicopter is not entirely stable, so you'll need a fast shutter speed on your camera (over 250/1).

Also, increase the aperture as much as you can and raise the ISO (from 400 to 3200) as the day goes on. You will have some noise in your photos, but in return, you will capture the New York buildings with sharpness.

If you don't want to complicate things, use the Sport mode on your camera or cell phone to avoid taking blurry photos.

New York Open Door helicopter tours

East River view of downtown Manhattan seen out of open door helicopter

No shortage of NYC helicopter tours but there is of the open door kind which happens to be the best way to see Manhattan.

Few New York open door helicopter tours are made available through FlyNyon or HeliFlight. Guests will embark via New Jersey before reaching the Manhattan skyline in a Bell LongRanger, Robinson R22 or Airbus H125. Benefits to doors off option is unrestrictive photography opportunities with no glass reflection .

Quick Open Door tour table

Nyc doors off helicopter tours, new jersey operators only, off-the-shelf open door routes, charter nyc flight path, benefits to open doors over new york, open door fashion sense, pro photography opportunities.

What better way to take a complete New York City helicopter ride than when the doors are removed for unrestrictive sightseeing.

Common flight paths are carried over to the open doors option with a difference; you'll experience unparallel views with no windows or doors holding you back.

When departing via HeliFlight the tour will take part in a small yet often shaky Robinson R44 - it can be thrilling but is not ideal for professional photography.

Yet the Bell LongRanger or Airbus H125 are turbine powered helicopters that will allow for a more steadier flight.

Experience what is a termed as an open door shoe selfie helicopter ride with FlyNyon as you're permitted to swing around on your seat.

Not an option with HeliFlight but the area allowed for viewing or photographing in the helicopter is much larger.

In a Hurry? take a glance at all 4 New York City doors off helicopter tours that are open to all customers, who should book way in advanced of arrival, unless otherwise stated.

You'll notice the table price list has four columns each with its own data, and is accurate when I first published on 14th February 2020.

Operator column is the helicopter company who will be flying you; Package is the name of the tour; Min. is flight duration, estimation only - and finally, starting Price.

FlyNyon and HeliFlight are the only services made available with only four flights among them.

Helicopter operators will try to maintain your flight for the time promised, though it is more possible the time will be added on or in between - rather than coming under.

Manhattan seen through open doors while looking south

Incredibly, its just the 4 NYC helicopter rides for passengers to embark on at this time, but its one package you will need to see all landmarks.

FlyNyon or HeliFlight will bring guests within reach of all attractions you wish to see from a birds-eye view.

Expect the tour to begin with Ellis Island or the Statue Of Liberty before embarking on a more adventurous tours, that will see popular tourist destinations.

While the operators begin there flights in New Jersey with only four New York open door packages to pick - let's try to see which operator is the one for you.

FlyNyon are well known in the doors off helicopter tour circles and will likely be the first option when a potential client thinks, doors off in NYC.

Operate a number of helicopters with a fleet that includes an Airbus ACH125 or a Bell 206L LongRanger - one of my favorites.

Its important to know what helicopter you'll be a passenger of as the seat arrangement does vary drastically.

In the Bell there's three seats forwards, and two seats facing backwards, including the co-pilot seat. The Airbus has four forward facing seats in the rear, with two extra passengers in the front, next to the pilot.

  • NYC Experience
  • Check Availability | Duration: 16-19 Minutes | Price: $128.00
  • Entry level class NYC helicopter flight that is sure to please at a basic rate. Once you've come within reach of Manhattan; get ready to view the Statue Of Liberty, Ellis Island, Battery Park, Brooklyn Bridge, the Financial District and much more...
  • NYC Classic
  • Check Availability | Duration: 30-33 Minutes | Price: $220.00
  • Extended flight can only mean more time for sightseeing, and that's what you'll get as the tour will come within reach of all popular landmarks as outlined above. Only more time allows for a longer haul so more attractions will be seen.

Often HeliFlight will get overlooked in the doors off helicopter tour game as there street cred hasn't quite reached the heights of FlyNyon.

They're not an operator to be overlooked though as the service on offer is similar to that of FlyNyon (sorry to keep bringing them up).

Helicopter HeliFlight will be taking you up in their agile yet can be smooth Robinson R44 - with the doors off of course.

What that means for passengers is a doors seat for everyone; one passenger is the co-pilot while two guests sit in the rear.

  • NYC Photo Experience For Two
  • No Longer Available | Duration: 20-25 Minutes | Price: $339.00
  • Special aerial photography experience will allow for two guests time to take amateur to the most pro photography, thanks to no third person in the way. Private flight that will see all sights mentioned thus far, but so much more.
  • Doors Off Helicopter Adventure
  • No Longer Available | Duration: 20-25 Minutes | Price: $549.00
  • You plus two guests can see Manhattan in a time that will allow for all major sights to see. Attractions to see is the Tear of Grief, Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, Staten Island Ferry Terminal, Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, Ellis Island and more.

Did you know New York open door helicopter tours never depart the busy Pier 6 harbor on the East River in lowe Manhattan.

Maintaining high standards on the platform is imperative for customer safety, that can not be made possible if a group of photographers come and go.

Photography is forbidden on the Downtown Manhattan Heliport so it would be difficult to stop guests who ignore basic safety instructions.

So therefore, for that reason you can only take an open door helicopter tour via New Jersey.

Which is just as well as its where two of the finest open door helicopter ride specialists happen to be headquartered.

First up is FlyNyon who are located at: 78 John Miller Way, Kearny, NJ 07032.

Luxury, spacious guest lounge allows for time to prepare for the flight well a safety briefing will be followed up for a safety harness fitting.

No viewing the helicopters landing or taking off as its a short shuttle drive to the helipad that is just 2 minutes away.

Next up is the reliable HeliFlights who are located Linden Airport, address: Hangar 400, 1101 W Edgar Rd., Linden, NJ 07036.

No shuttle service here as guests will be escorted out onto the helipad to the helicopter.

New York City helicopter tours mentioned thus far are only tours that are made available for all guests.

When you don't want the trouble of chartering a helicopter to fly around Manhattan on a route that is different - then make it one you can book online.

In fact, all four open door helicopter flight paths have been refined over the years through customer feedback.

Therefore it will be the best route possible that will take in all major landmarks.

Bonus to that of course with a New Jersey departure point is you'll get a brief look at Linden or Kearny, respectively - before Manhattan is visible on the horizon.

As it happens, all off the shelf helicopter tours will differ in terms of exact flight path or end experience.

Operators will tell you the open door helicopter rides lend themselves to a new flight every time - with no tour being the same.

Lower Manhattan as seen through open door helicopter ride

I highly recommend you stick to the flight paths made available to you that are developed though years of experience.

But what a private New York helicopter tour can offer you is a tour that can be just you, a friend or your own group.

Charting a doors off helicopter tour route can be arranged for doors on if you wished.

What you'll get through a private charter is many things, among them:

  • Guest numbers depends on how many you want to bring
  • Choose helicopter type to use; Airbus H125, Airbus TwinStar, Bell 206 or R44
  • Hire a helicopter for a set time only
  • Make up own flight path with help of the operator
  • Charter a helicopter to an event, airport transfer or private location

When taking a chartered helicopter with FlyNyon, you'll be handed over to their FoxTrot branch for doors off/on options.

HeliFlight will feel like a new flight route every time but a special arrangement can be made with them.

Know that if one or three passengers are brought along; if there is spare seating the chartered cover price needs to assume all seats are used - even if they're not.

While professional to amateur photographers are set to benefit more to doors off, guests who are in it for the ride will benefit hugely too.

No way can it be made greater viewing New York City with the naked eye when there's a panel of glass between you and the outside.

Glass windows in helicopter sightseeing can cause all sorts of problems; among them reflection, restrictions and believe it or not - smutches or spots on glass interfering.

So there you have it, huge benefit to open door helicopter rides over Manhattan is that passengers can see NYC with HD vision.

In addition to all that the importance of more leg room or space for your arms or elbows to protrude out is a delightful bonus.

Difficulty for operators is when guests show up in attire that is not suitable for an New York open helicopter ride.

What that could mean is arriving at the terminal underdressed in the cold weather, or perhaps wearing too much when its warm.

However, they will not give you any grief about it providing you're fit to fly in regards to what you shouldn't be wearing.

Its an open door helicopter ride so as you can imagine, items could fall out in flight if its not firmly strapped down.

That relates to your shoes being closed or open toed. Guests must wear closed toed, lace fastened shoes to prevent them slipping off.

No jewellery that can be caught up or drop off, but a hat and gloves could be allowed.

New York City as seen below the helicopter flight path with skid in shot

Professional photographers are set to benefit photographing New York how it was intended - no doors causing reflections.

Photographers who often participate in aerial photography know that doors on is not a realistic option.

Problems to occur for pro's is obviously the window panel, but the door itself can be restricting in terms of camera positioning.

Doors on prevents people pointing there camera to a desired direction, whereas if the door was on it will only be a straight shot forward.

If pointing a camera through windows in a direction that is not direct, the result could be the glass being noticed.

Closed cabin environment can be made even more difficult with New York City night time helicopter flights - where even the helicopter control panel could be seen.

Taking a unique New York open door helicopter tour departing New Jersey is unlike all tours made available in the city.

NYC doors off allows for unrestrictive sightseeing with an option for you to take amateur to the most professional aerial photography.

Something that cannot be achieved through a doors on helicopter experience.

New Jersey is always your depart point via Linden Airport or Kearny, as the Downtown Manhattan Heliport does not permit open door flights.

Operators you'll be relying on for an experience you'll never forget is the well know FlyNyon to their near by rival, HeliFlight.

Helicopter type you'll be a passenger of is a powerful Bell LongRanger or Airbus Airbus H125 - or an agile, piston powered Robinson R44.

Off the shelf open door helicopter tours over New York allow for only four packages.

Regardless that is all you'll need as the tour flight path has been refined over many years to create a route that is preferred by past guests.

If that is not enough, there is an option to hire a helicopter over NYC for the day or to a special even or transfer - with help of a private helicopter.

memorial 11 septembre

trinity church new york

new york activites

interieur helicoptere coucher soleil

  • Liberty Helicopter Tours NYC
  • Zip Aviation
  • New York Helicopter
  • Manhattan Helicopter

  • le métro  : vous en aurez pour 1 heure de trajet , et entre 6 € et 10 € ( 86 St / 34 St Penn Station + changement  New York Penn Station / Linden ) ;
  • le bus : lignes 112 et 57 . Le trajet dure 1h30 environ et coûte entre 3 € et 7 €  ;

vue depuis helicoptere a new york

  • de vous  enregistrer : tous les passagers doivent présenter une pièce d'identité  avec photo ;

Toutefois, il reste valable  1 an .

Partez donc sereinement !  Si vous recherchez les meilleurs endroits où dormir à New York ou quel est le meilleur moment quand partir à New York , je vous invite à parcourir mon blog 😊

Vol en hélicoptère à New York : prix, durée & avis

Helicoptere à New York

Prix de l'hélicoptère à New York

Vol en hélicoptère à New York

  • on peut alors voir entre autre,  Ground Zero, One World Trade Center, Empire State Building, Top of the Rock, Chrysler Building mais aussi Central Park

Bien moins pratique !

Quel tour en hélicoptère choisir à New York ?

Chrysler Building à New York

Tour en hélico à New York

Helicoptere à New York

With a healthy Aaron Rodgers returning to the lineup and several talented offseason acquisitions joining the fray, the National Football League has made the Jets a must-see early and often throughout the 2024 season.

Starting with the Jets' Monday night road date against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 9 and ending with the Green & White's visit from the Colts on Nov. 17, the Jets will appear in the NFL maximum six primetime games over the team's first 11 weeks. Of the six primetime contests, the Jets' four home games under the lights are a franchise high. In addition to the loaded primetime slate, the Jets will be the "away" team when they face the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Oct. 6.

The Jets' home opener will be an intradivision Thursday night matchup against the Patriots on Sept. 19, marking the third time the Jets have opened their home slate on a Thursday and their second Thursday home opener against the Pats. They'll also close the regular season at home inside the division as the Dolphins will visit in Week 18.

2024 Jets Schedule Highlights

Nothing Routine About It In the 11 games before their Week 12 bye, the Jets do not have two consecutive weeks with the same number of days in between games. Beginning with Week 2, the days between games are 6, 4, 10, 7, 8, 6, 7, 4, 10 and 7.

The only other time in franchise history with an 11-game (10-week) stretch of a different number of days between games each week was 1963, when the Jets in their first year as Jets went all 14 games (13 weeks) with different numbers of days between each game.

4 Night Games at Home On Sept. 29, the Jets will host the Denver Broncos with the 1 p.m. contest being televised on CBS. The team's four other home games prior to a Week 12 bye will all come under the lights. After two AFC East foes — the Patriots (Thursday, Sept. 19) and the Bills (Monday, Oct. 14) — visit for a pair of 8:15 p.m. kickoffs, New York's AFC representative will host two AFC South clubs in national games as the Texans will make a return visit on Halloween and the Colts will play guest in a nationally televised Sunday night affair on Nov. 17.

3 Long Weeks Let's look at the glass as being half full. After the Jets home opener against New England, they'll have 10 days before the Broncos pay a visit on Sept. 29. When the Jets return from their date with the Vikings in London, they'll get an extra day of rest before a tussle with the Bills at MetLife Stadium on Monday, Oct. 14. They'll get another 10-day respite between the Thursday night home contest against the Texans and a Nov. 10 visit to Arizona.

4 Short Weeks The 2024 schedule will also feature multiple quick turnarounds. After the Monday night opener in San Francisco, the Jets will head to Nashville six days later and take on the Titans on Sept. 15. Then it's another short week for the Green & White as the home opener vs. the Pats will be Thursday night on Prime at 8:15 p.m. After the Jets and Bills face off on Monday, Oct. 14, the Green & White will remain under the lights the ensuing Sunday against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. And following their second matchup with the Pats, at Gillette Stadium on Oct. 27, the Jets will only have a few days to prepare for the Thursday night home date with the Houston Texans.

Week 18 Jets vs. Dolphins TBD

Quick Start The Jets have arguably the NFL's toughest task in Week 1 although the defending NFC Champion 49ers did finish 5-3 at home last season. The Bills and Steelers should provide stiff primetime resistance in back-to-back nationally televised games in Weeks 6 and 7, but on paper the Jets have a golden opportunity prior to the Week 12 bye.

Six of the Jets' first 11 opponents — Tennessee, New England (2X), Denver, Minnesota and Arizona — finished below .500 last season. Both the Titans and Patriots have new head coaches in Brian Callahan and Jerod Mayo, respectively. While Bills QB Josh Allen is one of the NFL's premier players and the 49ers' Brock Purdy has had a strong start to his career, the Jets' elite defense will face among a collection of the following group of passers — Will Levis (at TEN, Week 2), Jacoby Brissett/Drake Maye (Week 3 vs. NE, Week 8 at NE), Jarrett Stidham/Zach Wilson/Bo Nix (vs. DEN, Week 4), Sam Darnold/J.J. McCarthy (Week 6 vs. MIN), Russell Wilson/Justin Fields (at PIT, Week 7), Kyler Murray (at Arizona, Week 10) and Anthony Richardson/Joe Flacco (Week 11 vs. Indianapolis).

Early Kickoffs Late With a TBD attached to Week 18's home date with the Dolphins, the Jets are scheduled to have five consecutive 1 p.m. kickoffs in December — vs. Seattle (Dec. 1), at Miami (Dec. 8), at Jacksonville (Dec. 15), vs. the L.A. Rams (Dec. 22) and at Buffalo (Dec. 29). While the weather promises to be tricky in Western New York, the Jets' two late trips to Florida could be advantageous in terms of lower heat and humidity.

Finally In terms of schedule strength, the Jets SOS over the first five games is .435 (37-48) and there is an uptick over the middle 6 games to .471 (48-54). Over their final six games, which occur after the bye, the SOS is .598 (61-41).

Knicks-Pacers Game 7 Ticket Sales Boast Extraordinary Data

Geoff magliocchetti | 22 hours ago.

  • New York Knicks

It'll take four figures to the New York Knicks' next Game 7 at Madison Square Garden.

According to data shared to All Knicks by Vivid Seats, Sunday's postseason tilt against the Indiana Pacers, the finale of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Madison Square Garden (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC), is setting records when it comes to the exchange and resale of Knickerbocker tickets.

Game 7 is said to be the hottest Knicks ticket Vivid has had on its site in over a decade, as the average price of admission has rounded out to $959 as of Saturday afternoon. That resets the record for the priciest Knicks game: while the prior mark didn't stand long (the Game 2 showdown between the Knicks and Pacers 11 days prior), Game 7 has it beat by over $250 (with Game 2 prices averaging $696).

The data also back a distinct homecourt advantage for the Knicks, who already enjoy one of the most loyal followings in the NBA. Vivid's data estimates that 98 percent of buyers are Knick fans, who own a major advantage over their Pacer rivals: searches for Game 7 outweigh those for Game 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse by over 500 percent.

Knicks fans only hope their efforts on Vivid's servers match their team's on the MSG scoreboard. New York is partaking in its first Game 7 since 2000, which produced the franchise's most recent Eastern Conference Finals berth. The Knicks and Pacers have each successfully defended their respective homecourts, as the road team has fallen in each of the first six games to date.

Surprise! Taylor Swift gifts fans a '1989' mashup at Saturday's Stockholm Eras Tour show

tour helico new york

STOCKHOLM − Taylor Swift celebrates her 89th Eras Tour show Saturday with a triple mashup off the album of her fifth era.

During the acoustic set, Swift played three songs from “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on piano: “Say Don’t Go,” “Welcome to New York” and “Clean.” The wristbands lit up bright blue, the color of the era.

Fans flocked to Friends Arena in record-breaking numbers, according to the singer, who told the crowd at her first show in the venue that it was the stadium's highest-attended ever. To begin year two of her magnum opus, Swift incorporated a "Tortured Poets" set along with other changes to the show . The tour landed Friday in Stockholm, which changed its name to "Swiftholm" temporarily. Her last show in the city is Sunday.

Fans did not spot Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in Sweden after the tight end went to her  final show in Paris,  which was her 87th Eras Tour performance (his Kansas City Chiefs number is 87). The football player was hosting a music festival,  Kelce Jam , Saturday night in Bonner Springs, Kansas.

StubHub.com showed floor seats in Stockholm going for a shockingly low $100 to $170, with some stadium seats for only $60. Resale prices for U.S. shows are in the four to five digits range.

Swift's next stop will be Lisbon, Portugal.

New York Liberty home opener against Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever sets WNBA record. Hear from excited fans.

By Zinnia Maldonado

Updated on: May 20, 2024 / 5:37 AM EDT / CBS/AP

NEW YORK -- The New York Liberty 's first home game of the season, against the Indiana Fever and rookie sensation Caitlin Clark , set an all-time WNBA record with more than $2 million in tickets sold .

Breanna Stewart scored 24 points to lead a balanced New York offense as the Liberty beat Clark and the Fever 91-80 on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 17,735 at the Barclays Center.

Clark had the best game of her young professional career. She scored 22 points — her best total in the three games — to go with eight assists and six rebounds. She also had eight turnovers.

"I think the buzz and eyes that Caitlin has brought from Iowa now to the WNBA is going to be a collective win for all," Stewart said. "When I first started in the league, some teams weren't even making revenue. ... It's a long time coming. We're happy to be at this point, but we're not satisfied."

"The Liberty definitely deserve this crowd. They've been incredible over the course of the last few seasons, and they're going to be incredible this year, so it was fun to play here in New York for the first time," Clark said.

Stewart helps New York top Indiana again 91-80 despite strong game from Caitlin Clark

Clark's effort wasn't enough for the Fever to come away with their first victory of the season.

"I thought I came out and just played harder and I think that's really just my biggest focus going forward," Clark said. "Just come out and compete and play hard. Our whole group did that."

It was the second consecutive meeting between the teams that finished off a home-and-home set. New York (3-0) won by 36 points on Thursday, but the Fever were more competitive in this one thanks to a strong effort by Clark.

"It was better, but we shouldn't be happy," Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell said. "We didn't lose by 40 so I'll take it."

The No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft came into the game averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds for the Fever (0-3).

This was Clark's first time playing in New York as Iowa never played in the city, nor did she when she was in high school or with her AAU team.

"This arena is amazing. It'll be fun for me to go around to all the new WNBA arenas and kind of check off the box," Clark said. "This is certainly one that's definitely up there. I know the crowd will be incredible tonight, so just enjoy it."

Clark drew a bunch of sports celebrities to the game including Billie Jean King, Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Michelle Wie West and Dawn Staley. Actor Jason Sudeikis, who went to a few of Clark's games in college, also was in attendance.

The NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer gave them a lot to watch in the first quarter. She looked comfortable scoring 10 points, hitting four of her five shots in the period. Clark, who only had nine points in the matchup between the teams on Thursday, also hit a logo 3-pointer just after a foul was called.

The play went to review and it was deemed the shot came after the foul, so the deep 3 didn't count.

Despite the strong opening effort, Indiana trailed 33-22 after one quarter and was down 57-37 at the half. New York shot 56% in the first half, including hitting 12 of 18 from behind the 3-point line.

It didn't get much better in the second half, as the Liberty kept shooting well and hitting 3s. All five of New York's starters hit at least two 3-pointers in the game while the Liberty made 15. Indiana never got the game within single digits; however, Clark did wow the crowd by hitting two deep 3-pointers that drew oohs and aahs.

Barclays Center packed with both Liberty die-hards and Clark fans

Liberty fans showed up for Saturday's game with high hopes for the season.

"Liberty is going to go all the way to the championship, no problem," said Walter McNally, from New Jersey.

"I used to watch them at the Garden when I was a little kid. Teresa Weatherspoon, when they went to the finals," Long Island resident Charlie Schultz said.

Peter Land, a self-proclaimed super fan, brought his daughters to the game and wore his favorite t-shirt, reading, "I watched women's basketball before it was cool."

"I started following the Liberty in 1977, their first year in the league. I used to have season tickets, so I love taking my daughters," he said.

Even Liberty fans were excited to see Clark play.

"I want to stick to my team, but I have so much respect for her and I think she's such an amazing player," one fan said. "I think she's been so helpful for women's sports to bring more fans."

"She's the first women's basketball player to really catch so many people's attention," another young fan said.

On Monday night, Clark and the Fever return home to host the Connecticut Sun, while the Liberty will host Seattle.

The New York Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricane 4-2 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

If you want to purchase tickets to Game 1 , which is to be announced at the conclusion of the Boston-Florida series and to be played on a date next week, you can do so at Stubhub , Ticketmaster , Ticketsmarter and Vivid Seats . The cheapest tickets were on VividSeats for $387.

The President’s Trophy-winning Rangers will have home-ice advantage and host the first two games of the series, and Games 5 and 7 should the series reach that point.

New York will either face the Florida Panthers or the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Finals — with Game 6 of their series Friday night, and the Panthers leading the series 3-2.

HOW TO WATCH: Fans can watch the games via a subscription to SlingTV , which is offering $25 off any package for the first month or a three-month subscription for just $90. Sling’s channel lineup includes TNT and ESPN, so fans can watch every NHL (and NBA) playoff game.

Here’s a recent NHL story from the AP:

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The New York Rangers went from cruising through the NHL playoffs with an unbeaten record to suddenly struggling to close out a second-round series despite having a huge lead.

Worse, they found themselves down entering the third period with the prospect of having to play a Game 7.

Instead, Chris Kreider took over to ensure the Presidents’ Trophy winners finally closed out the Carolina Hurricanes and earned their spot in the Eastern Conference Final.

Kreider had a third-period hat trick to help the Rangers erase a two-goal deficit and beat the Hurricanes 5-3 in Game 6 on Thursday night, a stunning reversal after their postseason momentum had gone decidedly in the wrong direction.

“We talk about being a resilient group and a competitive group,” Kreider said, “and I think we showed that tonight.”

Kreider single-handedly erased the Hurricanes’ 3-1 lead entering the final period. The go-ahead score — which also completed the natural hat trick — came when he got position on Jalen Chatfield at the top of the crease and tipped in Ryan Lindgren’s pass to make it 4-3 at the 15:41 mark.

That made Kreider the third Rangers player to score three goals in a series-clinching game and first since Mike Gartner in 1990. It was also reminiscent of famed captain Mark Messier’s “guarantee” game in 1994, when he had a third-period hat trick in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final against New Jersey after promising the Rangers would force a seventh game. The Rangers went on to win the series and their most recent Stanley Cup title that season.

Kreider’s heroics finally allowed the Rangers to put away the Hurricanes, who had won two straight after falling into a 3-0 hole in the best-of-7 series. The Hurricanes appeared on the verge of forcing a Game 7 for a pressure-packed finale, but couldn’t contain the Rangers’ surge in the final 14 minutes.

“We just had to go out there and make a decision in the third period,” said Vincent Trocheck, a former Hurricane who scored the Rangers’ first goal on a second-period deflection. “Either show up and play and be a part of the series, or don’t. I think we had 20 guys show up in the third.”

Barclay Goodrow finished this one off by getting to a loose puck near the boards and scoring a long empty-net goal in the final minute, sending Goodrow to the nearby Rangers bench to be mobbed by teammates.

That sent the Rangers on to the Eastern Conference Final to face the Boston-Florida winner, with the Panthers leading that series 3-2.

Kreider’s first goal came at the 6:43 mark when he jammed the puck through against the left skate of Frederik Andersen, who had stopped Mika Zibanejad near the right post as Zibanejad skated in. He followed by tipping in a shot by Artemi Panarin on the power play to tie it at 3 at the 11:54 mark.

“Their top guys took over in the third there once they got that one,” Carolina coach Rod Brind’Amour said.

Igor Shesterkin hung in after a pressured first two periods, finishing with 33 saves and coming up with a big stop on Jordan Staal near the crease and another tying chance from Andrei Svechnikov off a faceoff win in the third period.

Martin Necas, Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho scored for Carolina, while Andersen finished with 19 saves.

The Hurricanes also missed on multiple late chances to increase their lead, with Jordan Martinook — who had a highlight-reel sliding effort to knock away a loose puck from the goal line midway through the second period — and Jake Guentzel each pinging the metal past Shesterkin to come up empty.

There was also a big opportunity in the third when two Rangers collided and fell to the ice in their own end, leaving Aho with a 1-on-1 chance on Shesterkin. But as Aho skated in from the left circle, he went wide right of the net as he tried to move to his backhand.

Those missed chances added up to a brutal exit for the Hurricanes, a team that was in the playoffs for the sixth time in as many seasons under Brind’Amour and has been open about the goal of breaking through to win the Cup.

Carolina finished three points behind the Rangers for the Presidents’ Trophy awarded to the top team in the regular-season standings, and entered the NHL playoffs as the favorite to win the Stanley Cup, according to  Bet MGM Sportsbook . But the Rangers followed a Round 1 sweep of Washington by winning the first three games by one-goal margins — two coming in overtime —  to threaten an unexpectedly quick resolution  amid a 7-0 postseason start.

Carolina successfully  beat back their power-play struggles for the Game 4 winner  to stay alive, then rallied from a 1-0 deficit with four straight third-period goals  to win Game 5 in Madison Square Garden  and bring the series back to Raleigh.

Days later, the Rangers returned the favor with four straight of their own in the third, leaving a boisterous Hurricanes crowd in stunned disbelief. And it marked the second time in three seasons the Rangers eliminated the Hurricanes on their home ice in the second round, with the 2022 win coming in seven games.

“This puts a tough way to end a really good year,” Brind’Amour said. “These guys played their butts off all year. But this is what you’re going to remember. And that’s the hard part.”
