L'Histoire de Vesvre et de sa Tour

Depuis Eudes de Vabra au IX° siècle jusqu'à la commune de Neuvy Deux Clochers en 1973, la Seignerie de Vesvre a connu bien des propriétaires.

Depuis, la Commune de Neuvy Deux Clochers s'engage pour la sauvegarde du site de Vesvre, les Amis de La Tour font vivre le lieu et un important programme de recherche archéologique est engagé depuis 1998 par Inrap.

Les Amis de la Tour de Vesvre

Au début des années 1970, le délabrement de la Tour suscite une première mobilisation de passionnés qui prennent des mesures de sauvegarde immédiate. Ils forment alors l'Association "Les Compagnons de la Tour de Vèvre". Aujourd'hui l'association "Les Amis de la Tour de Vesvre" poursuit cette mission depuis 2002.

Tour de Vesvre

• Description

Ensemble composé de la Tour de Vesvre, bâtie à la fin du XIIème siècle, d'une ferme attenante du XVIème siècle et d'une motte castrale. Visite de la tour jusqu'au chemin de ronde.

La Tour de Vesvre est une maison forte, de construction massive elle dresse ses murs épais de 3m à la base. Sur la commune de Neuvy deux Clochers (Cher), à 16 kms de Sancerre. Cette maison forte fut bâtie à la fin du XII° siècle, sur les vestiges d'une ancienne demeure seigneuriale dont l’origine remonterait au IX° siècle. Son histoire est inséparable de celle du Site de Vesvre, qui comprenait la motte castrale voisine IX°-X° s. La Tour est classée monument historique, en 1993. La ferme attenante, du XIII° siècle, était une ferme fortifiée comprenant une étable, un colombier, une grange. La grange et le colombier ont été récemment restaurés.

La Tour de Vesvre is a medieval tower located in the village of Vesvre in the department of Saône-et-Loire in France. The tower was built in the 13th century as a fortified structure and was part of the medieval castle of Vesvre.

The tower is 26 meters high and has a square plan. It is made of local stone and has several floors. The walls are very thick, which allowed the tower to resist attacks during the many conflicts that took place in the region.

Today, the tower is classified as a historical monument and is open to the public. Visitors can climb to the top of the tower and enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The tower also hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.

Girls Aloud kick off reunion tour dedicated to late bandmate Sarah Harding

The debut comeback show in Dublin saw a number of poignant moments, including the band performing alongside the vocals of Sarah Harding, who died of cancer in September 2021.

Girls Aloud have taken to the stage for the first gig of their reunion tour with emotional tributes to their late bandmate Sarah Harding.

A 30-minute delay to the show blamed on "Dublin motorway closures", did nothing to dim the delight of fans when Nadine Coyle, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh appeared on stage, standing on individual podiums singing their 2008 song Untouchable.

The comeback tour has been dedicated to Harding, who was diagnosed with cancer and died in September 2021 aged 39.

During the show, the group performed a duet with Harding, whose vocals to I'll Stand By You played as they joined in live on-stage.

They later sang one of their biggest hits, The Promise, during which the singers stopped and turned their backs to the audience to watch footage of Harding performing the song on her own.

A post on the official Girls Aloud X account said: "Show 1 done. Dublin you were absolutely INCREDIBLE. What a start to the #TheGirlsAloudShow tour."

The singers won Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and formed Girls Aloud, going on to achieve four UK number one singles and a Brit award.

They reunited with new music for their 10th anniversary in 2012, while a second reunion was planned for their 20th anniversary when Harding was diagnosed with cancer.

Less than an hour before their expected arrival at the 3Arena in Dublin, the group issued an updated stage time on X. It said due to "Dublin motorway closures", the band would arrive 30 minutes later than expected at 9.15pm.

Ahead of the show, a post on the official Girls Aloud X account said: "Rehearsals? Done. Choreography? Ready. Outfits? Fitted. Girls? Aloud.

"...We've been working so hard to make this show special for all of you."

After two back-to-back opening nights in Dublin's 3Arena, Girls Aloud will play two concerts at the SSE Arena in Belfast on Monday and Tuesday, before heading to the Manchester AO Arena from Thursday to Saturday.

In November, the group had to add six extra dates to their UK and Ireland 2024 arena tour due to "unprecedented demand" following ticket pre-sales.

Taylor Swift's European Eras Tour leg kicked off in Paris with a new setlist. See which songs are in and out.

Taylor Swift fever struck Paris on Thursday as the highest-grossing tour in history finally arrived in Europe, with fans treated to the first-ever performance of songs from her latest album.

The Eras Tour began its European leg with four dates at the La Defense Arena in Paris.

"I wish I could have toured Europe more. This is a dream crowd," the 34-year-old megastar told the ecstatic audience.

There were deafening shrieks as images of typewriter sheets indicated that songs off the new album "The Tortured Poets Department" were starting late in the show.

Emerging in a lyrics-covered dress, she ran through several of the darker new tracks starting with "But Daddy I Love Him" and "Fortnight", a particularly furious rendition of "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" and an elaborate "I Can Do it with a Broken Heart," with a golden-era Hollywood dance routine.

Other "The Tortured Poets Department" songs performed included "So High School," "Down Bad" and "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," according to ETonline .

"You were the first crowd to see songs from 'The Tortured Poets Department'," she said, before adding: "Or, as I like to call it, 'Female Rage: the Musical.'"

That was a dream come true for many in the audience.

"I've been so excited for so long, I can't believe it's actually happening," said 11-year-old Emma, who had flown in with her mother from New York.

Adding songs from "The Tortured Poets Department" wasn't the only change to the show and its 45-song setlist.

Perhaps the biggest change, according to ETonline, is the "Folklore" and "Evermore" setlists were combined, cutting four songs across the two albums: "'Tis the Damn Season," "Tolerate It," "The 1" and "The Last Great American Dynasty."

"On the Eras Tour, we have now reunited the sisters, combined them into one chapter," Swift said, according to video posted to social media. "You can call it "Folklore, Evermore" or you can call it the Sister Albums! You can call it whatever you want as long as you promise to sing 'Champagne Problems' with me."  

"The Archer" was removed from the "Lovers" portion of the show and "Long Live" was cut from the "Speak Now" era setlist, according to ETonline.

One of the secret songs was, fittingly, the "Midnights" bonus track "Paris."  

Parts of the show were also rearranged to make room for the newest era. The "Red" era was moved from the fifth to the third slot, according to ETonline, and the newest album was introduced following the "1989" set.

The venue said a fifth of the crowd were from the United States — many attracted by Europe's rules against charging huge mark-ups on resale tickets that can save Americans thousands of dollars compared with shows at home.

Georg'Ann Daly decided to celebrate her 23rd birthday with the Paris show. It meant flying from Nashville to Chicago to London and catching the Eurostar to Paris.

"I've always been obsessed with Taylor Swift," she told AFP.

A handful of superfans camped out from Tuesday in Paris to ensure they got a prime spot.

"I didn't plan to, but I came to check it out and I saw the first tents and I panicked a little," said Chris, 30.

Noah, 20, is seeing all four Paris concerts — he used 22 email addresses to get through the lottery system and secure the tickets.

After wrapping up her run in Paris, Swift will head for dates in Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria.

The Eras Tour has worked its way across North and South America and Asia since starting in March 2023.

By the end of the year, it had already become the first to sell more than $1 billion in tickets and is on track to more than double that by the time it concludes in Vancouver this December.

Swift's popularity shows no sign of dimming — the new album sold 1.4 million copies on its first day and broke every streaming record , reaching a billion streams on Spotify within five days.

Swift's tell-all dissections of her love stories have been the fuel powering her global domination, and fans have been poring over "The Tortured Poets Department" for cryptic clues about ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, her short-but-dramatic fling with Matty Healy (lead singer of The 1975), and her current partner, American football star Travis Kelce.

"Taylor talks about toxic relationships, impossible love, politics, mental health, and so much more," said Chris as she waited by her tent for the big moment. "I think we can all find a song that resonates with our experiences."

Taylor swift files trademark for 'female rage: the musical', taylor swift files trademark ... for 'female rage: the musical'.

Taylor Swift is officially laying claim to a nickname for a new part of her "Eras" tour -- and while it remains to be seen if it'll amount to anything ... she's at least locking down the rights.

The singer filed a trademark application last week -- and it touches on something she shouted out this weekend during her Paris stint ... namely, 'Female Rage: The Musical.'

In documents obtained by TMZ ... TAS Rights Management -- a company owned by Taylor -- filed paperwork to trademark the phrase ... which, as the singer explained on social media Sunday, was the theme of her newly added "Tortured Poets Department" set.

While the filing didn't indicate Taylor's plans for the trademark ... it does lay out everything she wants the right to do with the term, including turning into musical recordings, video recordings as well as slapping it onto a bunch of crap for potential merchandise.

The move might be protective ... as some fans have already started to try branding their own stuff with 'Female Rage: The Musical' -- so this could be Taylor blocking the vultures.

A number of shirts and sweatshirts have already popped up on Etsy, featuring the now viral saying and Taylor's likeness from her tour. So, it only makes sense for Taylor to try and monetize on the phrase ... or at the very least, protect her ability to make money off it.

Remember ... Taylor shook things up big time for the European leg of her Eras tour -- introducing at her Paris shows a new intro, a slew of costume changes, and several tweaks to the lineup.

Not only did Taylor rearrange the order in which she performed her different eras, but she also added 7 songs from her record-breaking new album, 'TTPD.'

It's clear that Taylor is trying to keep things fresh ... as her tour is running throughout the rest of 2024. Now, in terms of whether we'll see 'Female Rage' manifest into anything more beyond a zippy new catchphrase ... time will tell, we suppose. It has a nice ring to it.

Considering how shrewd of a businesswoman she is ... we wouldn't be surprised to see it brought to life!

Netflix’s sports documentary series on the world-famous Tour de France is back for a second season, with eight new episodes set to land on Netflix globally on June 11th, 2024. The series will go behind the scenes of the 110th edition of the cycling race, which Jonas Vingegaard ultimately won for the third year in a row. 

Before the release of season 1 on June 8th, 2023, it was announced that Tour de France: Unchained had already received a second season order . Cycling Weekly was the first to report that the documentary series would cover the 2023 race, which occurred between July 1st and 23rd, 2023.

Per Netflix, the new season will consist of another eight episodes, with the streamer providing the following tidbits about the new season:

“This new season goes behind the scenes of the 21 stages of Tour de France 2023: amid the scandals, low blows and thirst for glory; amid the dramatic falls and historic breakaways; amid the withdrawals and desire to win: the series dives back into the fierce battle of the riders for the yellow jersey!”

The new season will continue in its first season footsteps, with interviews with everyone in various teams, picking the riders’ brains and the people behind the teams.

Unlike most of the other sports documentaries that have flooded onto Netflix recently, Tour de France: Unchained is in a co-distribution deal with France Télévisions, which will carry it in France.

Box to Box Films is the production company behind Netflix’s co-distribution release. It has pioneered the sports docuseries over the past few years, starting out with Formula 1: Drive to Survive , which is currently in production with its seventh season . They’re also behind Six Nations: Full Contact , which has been given a second season order, plus Break Point , which has concluded after 1 season, and Full Swing , currently awaiting a season 3 renewal.

Childish Gambino — aka multihyphenate Donald Glover — doesn’t do anything by half, and as he promised last month , he has dropped a new version of his surprise release “ 3.15.20 ” (which quietly dropped in March 2020), under its original title “Atavista,” dates for “The New World Tour,” a massive trek through North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, launching in August. He also released a video for the album’s song “Little Foot Big Foot,” directed by Hiro Murai, featuring Young Nudy.

The loaded announcement recalls the Saturday evening in 2018 when he not only hosted “Saturday Night Live” — appearing in nearly every sketch as host and twice as musical guest — but he dropped the complex “This Is America” song and video during the show.

The album, which features songs with Ariana Grande, Summer Walker and others, has been expanded with two new tracks. Its confusing original release took place in the first days of the pandemic, when Glover quietly posted it on a website without song titles, playing on a constant loop, before removing it around 12 hours later. The following week, he officially released it without fanfare or even detailed credits on streaming services.

Arriving as it did at the very beginning of the pandemic lockdown, the album soon faded from the memories of the people who’d noticed it at all. However, based on a conversation posted last month on his Gilga Instagram platform , he released the album in that way because it was unfinished and he simply wanted it to exist in case the world ended.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, May 17 at 10am local time. Fans can also sign up for early access to tickets via the artist presale.
