Total Drama World Tour (originally titled Total Drama: The Musical ) is the third season of Total Drama .

Overview [ ]

Fifteen previous contestants and three new comers compete in challenges all around the world . However, this season, when Chris rings a bell, the contestants must break into song. If they don't, they are automatically eliminated. By the rules, contestants must sing once in each episode, and Chris may call a "reprise" of the song. Contestants safe from elimination are awarded barf bags full of airline-issued peanuts, continuing the tradition of edible safety items. When a contestant is eliminated , they must take the Drop of Shame voluntarily or someone will have to force them off of the plane .

Summary [ ]

During the events of Celebrity Manhunt's Total Drama Action Reunion Special , all of the contestants from the first two seasons went to great lengths to prevent being labeled as "has-beens," and being replaced by Chris ' new reality concept: Total Drama Dirtbags . Ultimately, after proving themselves through nearly catastrophic means, Chris rescues a g r o u p o f f i f t e e n (as well as two new faces) to join him on a journey around the world in the third season. Traveling around on the Total Drama Jumbo Jet , the cast participates in new challenges in various countries on six continents with all new drama and challenges awaiting them. Split into three separate teams after the first challenge, the teams work to achieve immunity, as well as first-class to their next destination. The losing team is then forced to attend a ceremony, where one member is forced to take the Drop of Shame from the plane to wherever they land. The lucky contestant who outlasts the rest of the contestants wins $1,000,000 .

Elimination [ ]

This is the process in Total Drama World Tour in which a contestant is eliminated; initially, the team that lost the most recent challenge, unless the last challenge happened to be a reward challenge, would vote for a contestant and the one with the most votes against them would be voted off. Since the teams eventually merged, all the contestants began to vote for each other and only the challenge winner received immunity. In the case of a tie bre aker , the two cont est ants would have to face off until one was eliminated. However, in a special case , both contestants were eliminated due to budget cuts.

Eighteen contestants, plus the host, Chris , and Chef Hatchet , the camp's cook and the co-host of the show.

• This makes Total Drama World Tour the second of three seasons to have had it's name changed, the first being Camp TV being changed to Total Drama Island , and the third being Total Drama Reloaded being changed to Total Drama: Revenge of the Island .
• Unlike Total Drama Action, none of them debuted later into the competition, although Beth almost did.
• However, Ezekiel , Izzy , Leshawna , Lindsay , Harold , Bridgette , DJ , Gwen , Duncan , and Owen did not.
• Owen and Gwen were the finalists of Total Drama Island, so it was impossible for them to get farther.
• However, Izzy , Courtney , Leshawna , Lindsay , Harold , Duncan , and Owen did not.
• Duncan was a finalist on Total Drama Action, so it was impossible for him to get farther.
• All of the males who competed on Total Drama Island, but not Total Drama Action, were eliminated in the same order as before. Ezekiel was eliminated first , followed by Noah, then Tyler, and finally Cody.
• This is the first, and currently the only, season to have an adult competing in the competition.
• Unlike the previous two seasons, the team names do not have "Screaming" and "Killer" in them.
• This is the first time that the teams have an uneven amount of players at the start of the season. Team Amazon and Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot had five, and Team Victory had six.
• This is also the first season where the winner is not the same in both Canada and the United States.
• Leshawna is the first contestant to use the lavatory confessional, as well as the very first confessional overall, and Heather is the first contestant to use the Jet's cockpit confessional and both confessionals.
• Izzy is the only contestant to never be seen in the confessional this season.
• This is the only season not to feature the main confessional in the end credits.
• However, no one is actually eliminated by this rule, and many people get away with not singing throughout the season.
• This makes Canada the most-visited country throughout the season, tying with the United States.
• In addition, this is the first season in which Izzy does not return after being eliminated.
• Coincidentally, both instances involved Courtney .
• This is the first season to feature "fake eliminations," in which Chris has all members of the losing team vote like they regularly would, then reveal the result, but not actually count that person as eliminated.
• This is the first season to feature an odd amount of contestants competing from the start, as Total Drama Island had twenty two contestants, and Total Drama Action started with fourteen contestants.
• This is the first season in which someone had to leave because of medical problems.
• This is the first season in which neither Owen nor Duncan makes it to the final four.
• This is the first season in which DJ actually appears in the bottom two of an elimination ceremony.
• This is the first season in which a previously eliminated contestant is brought back into the game without being an actual contestant. In this case, Ezekiel was brought back to aid in challenges in I See London... and African Lying Safari .
• In addition, counting Heather's ending , this season featured two same sex double eliminations, being the only season to do so.
• Team Amazon was the only team to never have a single member be regularly voted out.
• This season features the latest merge of a season, with the merge happening in the nineteenth episode .

• There are eighteen contestants competing in both shows though, Total Drama World Tour started out with seventeen contestants.
• A former win ner is eliminated first, though in Total Drama World Tour, Duncan returns.
• The yellow team is very weak and wins very few challenges.
• The yellow team is nonexistent before the teams merge. In Survivor , they got absorbed, while in World Tour, they were completely taken out.
• The final two is comprised of two members of a relationship .
• This is one of only two seasons to have its main promotional image be a moment from an actual episode , the other being Total Drama Island.
• This is the only season directed by Jennifer Pertsch and Tom McGillis.
• This season marks the second time where the winner didn't get his money, the first one was Total Drama Island.

Originally, the season was titled Total Drama: The Musical , however the title was later changed. Additionally, the season was originally set to include fifteen contestants, likely only featuring returning contestants.

The name Total Drama: The Musical , was mentioned by Chris in the special of the previous season, as well as being seen on a monitor during episode twelve of this season.

This article focuses on Cartoon Network 's Total Drama World Tour website . It was themed around the Total Drama Jumbo Jet . There were also two downloadable features: a Chris bobblehead and a Chef bobblehead; however, they were replaced by other downloadables after the first episode aired. Following each episode , the downloadables got updated every time. This website, alongside the websites for the first two seasons ( Total Drama Island: Totally Interactive! and Total Drama Action EXTRA ), were removed in favor of Cartoon Network's Total Drama: Revenge of the Island website in April 2013.

Like in the first two seasons, a small biography of each character appeared on the page. Unlike the first two seasons, it showed three words to describe the character, a quote that they said at some point during the season, and one favorite thing.

A map of all locations to be visited in Total Drama World Tour . People who visited the page got a chance to vote on which location they thought the cast were going to first. There was also a "starting point" location shown; however, it doesn't necessarily reveal where it was. Still, it appeared to be in Canada, since that is generally where two seasons of the Total Drama series takes place. To further prove this, various clips of the airport in the very first episode, including in the theme song, has been seen to have the CN Tower in the background, essentially confirming that it's located in Toronto. Each day after a new episode aired, the map was updated, as was the sidebar. The sidebar included the location visited, the challenge (or challenges), the reward (if any), the elimination, a downloadable GIF and song, and a picture from the episode at the top.

All the contestants "unblinded" in the beginning of the season .

All the contestants "blinded" (excluding Heather) at the end of the season .

When a contestant was eliminated, they received a Drop of Shame video, which is a montage of their time on the show. Also, their character picture on the main page got an orange blind pulled down over it that partially blocks out their face, leaving only an orange overlay. Also, Heather had a winning image instead of being blinded, since she won.

• Chris and Chef's bobbleheads can be seen in the cockpit of the Total Drama Jumbo Jet throughout the season.
• The video background image for " Jamaica Me Sweat " is a reference to the first season .
• On the Greece's Pieces shot, the caption "Greece is the Word" is a reference to a song in the musical and movie Grease .
• Duncan is the only one to get blinded two times .
• Bridgette is the only contestant to say their quote tw ice .
• Courtney is the only contestant to say their quote in " Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Japan ."
• Alejandro is the only contestant to say their quote in " Walk Like An Egyptian - Part 2 ."
• Noah is the only contestant to say their quote in " I See London... "
• " Walk Like an Egyptian—Part 1 " was the episode to feature the most character quotes from the contestants' mini-profiles, as six of them were said (by Bridgette, DJ , Duncan, Ezekiel , Harold , and Sierra ) in that episode.
• Gwen and Owen 's profiles were put at the top two. Coincidentally, they were the final two of Total Drama Island .
• In Ezekiel's elimination video, Duncan is still seen in the final frame as Ezekiel disappears, despite quitting the competition in the first episode .
• In DJ 's elimination video, Izzy is still shown in the final frame, even though she was taken out of the competition before DJ was, due to an injury. Lindsay can also be seen despite being eliminated the episode before DJ was.
• In Noah 's elimination video, Duncan is not seen in the final group shot even though he returned in the same episode . Also, Lindsay and Izzy are still shown in the shot, despite having already been eliminated by that point.
• The "coming soon" image for " Walk Like an Egyptian—Part 2 " remained on its spot on the map, even after the episode aired, when it should have changed to the episode's rollover image. Also, the rollover image was different from the "coming soon" image.
• In the downloadable versions of the songs, there wasn't any autotune, making some of the voices sound off-key.
• The name of " The Am-AH-Zon Race " song, " Gypsy Rap ," is incorrectly titled as "Bridgette Raps" on the episode sidebar, despite Bridgette being already eliminated at that point in the competition. It was then changed to just "Rap."
• The episode sidebar for " The Am-AH-Zon Race " says the reward is "all the bananas you can eat"; however, this was the reward for the first part of the challenge only.
• Cody's profile picture is from the deleted scene in " Broadway, Baby! " which is not shown in the Cartoon Network edit of the episode.
• " Niagara Brawls " didn't have a coming soon image. Instead, the episode rollover appeared.
• In the background for " African Lying Safari ," it says, "See more from Tazania," instead of "Tanzania."
• Despite competing, Blaineley was never added to the list of contestants. She was also never "blinded," nor does she receive a "Drop of Shame" video.
• In the background for " Rapa Phooey! " a rock carving of Gwen's head can be seen, even though it was never shown in the actual episode.
• In the downloadable version of " A Chinese Lesson ," the first part of the song is cut out.
• In the downloadable version of " Blainerific ," half of the song is cut out.
• In the "Best of Alejandro" video, Alejandro's name was misspelled as "Alajandro." This was later fixed.
• In the background for " Hawaiian Punch ," Courtney is seen cheering for Heather. However, when Heather wins, Courtney is shown to be angry.
• Additionally, the reward for Greece's Pieces was a phone call to your loved ones and not "keep(ing) your gold medals."

After each episode airs (in the United States), the "downloadables" section on the "Map" page was updated. Before the first episode aired, the downloadables were bobbleheads of " Chris and " Chef ." After the first episode aired, it was changed to another downloadable, and one could now download the episode's song to their computer.
