Red Hot Chili Peppers Reveal 2022 Tour Dates With the Strokes, Haim, St. Vincent, More

Chad Smith Anthony Kiedis John Frusciante and Flea

Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced the dates for their promised 2022 world tour , their first with guitarist John Frusciante back in the band. They’d teased the news with a goofy video in September. The 32-city trek kicks off June 4 in Seville, Spain, and will include special guests such as the Strokes, Beck, Haim, St. Vincent, Anderson .Paak, and more. Thundercat and King Princess will open on select dates, too. See the full string of dates, which includes a summer leg in the United States, below.

In December 2019, the band announced that guitarist John Frusciante was re-joining the group after a decade away, replacing Josh Klinghoffer . The newly reunited lineup performed together once last February , at a memorial concert assembled by the Tony Hawk Foundation.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Reveal Dates, Openers For 2022 Global Stadium Tour

The Red Hot Chili Peppers finally revealed the dates for their 2022 global stadium tour on Thursday (Oct. 7), which will include openers the Strokes, A$AP Rocky, Beck, Haim and more.

Todd the Squirrel (Flea) and Johnson Hammerswaddle (Anthony Kiedis) were back at it on Thursday morning (Oct. 7) with the latest fake news report about the Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘ 2022 global stadium tour. Only this time the funk-loving pranksters in phony mustaches and bad wigs actually had dates to share for the massive outing that is slated to kick off on June 4 in Seville, Spain at the Estadio La Cartuja De Sevilla.

The 32-city outing marks the second return of beloved guitarist John Frusciante and the Chili Peppers’ first U.S. stadium tour, on which they’ll play a selection of their most beloved hits as well as songs from their as-yet-untitled new album, according to a release announcing the dates.

The road trip will feature support from a wide range of special guests, including The Strokes, A$AP Rocky, Beck, Haim, St. Vincent, Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, Thundercat and King Princess, with U.S. dates kicking off on July 23 with a gig at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2022 Tour Openers Are Wildly Stacked

Portrait of Justin Curto

The Red Hot Chili Peppers ’ 2022 tour was already set to be an event , with longtime on-again, off-again guitarist John Frusciante touring alongside the band for the first time in 15 years. Now it’s looking to be even more of one, thanks to a wildly stacked list of openers. The list of ( very ) special guests: the Strokes, Haim, St. Vincent, A$AP Rocky, Thundercat, Beck, Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, and King Princess. Although they’re not appearing all together, sadly — many of the artists are joining for only a few dates, though Thundercat is in for nearly the whole ride. Red Hot Chili Peppers likely went big because this marks their first stadium tour after years as an arena act. The 32-date world tour is the Chili Peppers’ first run since their 2016–17 tour behind their last album, The Getaway . And they could even have new music to debut, with drummer Chad Smith teasing a new Chili Peppers album with Frusciante. Find the dates and lineups below.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce North American + European 2022 Tour Dates

The Red Hot Chili Peppers recently teased that they'd be returning to the road in 2022 and the group reprised their newsmen alter egos for a humorous video announcing the cities for the run and revealing all of the dates.

The band will be hitting the road in summer 2022, with Europe getting the first crack at shows. Their global stadium tour will kick off June 4 in Seville, Spain, continuing through a July 12 final in Hamburg, Germany. Dates for the European tour leg can be viewed below.

The group will then head back to North America for a run that will span the rest of the summer. With just over a week's breather, touring will resume July 23 in Denver with dates booked through the tour finale Sept. 18 in Arlington, Texas. See all of the stops listed below.

The tour comes as Red Hot Chili Peppers continue to work on their next studio album. Though details of the forthcoming set have yet to be revealed, it's probably safe to assume the album release will coincide with the newly announced shows. The concerts will feature the return of guitarist John Frusciante for his third stint in the band.

[9/24/21] Red Hot Chili Peppers  will head out on a world tour in 2022 with new/old guitarist  John Frusciante , the band announced on Friday. The band revealed the world tour—RHCP’s first since officially reuniting with longtime guitarist John Frusciante   in late 2019—with an absurdist faux-news bulletin via “KHOT News.”

In the Eric Andre-esque clip, argyle-clad anchors Johnson Hammerswaddle  ( Anthony Kiedis ) and  Todd the Squirrel ( Flea ) update viewers on hard-hitting stories like the Hollywood nose-picking scandal and the ever-fluctuating beer nuts market.

The soft-spoken Randy Raindrops  ( Chad Smith ) pops in to add some sunshine before bringing in the show’s special guest,  John Frusciante (as himself), for a “Global Conversation.” After the guitarist mentions that the band will play a world tour in June 2022, Hammerswaddle and Squirrel respond with manic excitement.

The quirky humor continues as Raindrops continues to interview Frusciante with  Between Two Ferns- level awkward tension. After the full KHOT News team returns, Hammerswaddle signs off. “Give It Away” plays. Roll credits. Red Hot Chili Peppers World Tour 2022 is on.

Of note, whether by coincidence or clever scheduling, the announcement comes exactly thirty years to the day after the release of the band’s lauded 1991 album,  Blood Sugar Sex Magik .

Although the announcement didn’t provide much in the way of details on the 2022 RHCP tour, it did reveal that the run will begin in June, with U.S. shows set to start in July. While we wait for info, however, this announcement clip is worth at least a few views. Watch the announcement video below and keep an eye on the band’s website for updates.

Red Hot Chili Peppers announce dates for 2022 world stadium tour

They'll be supported by The Strokes, HAIM, St. Vincent and many more across the tour, which includes three huge UK dates

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced the dates for their upcoming world stadium tour in 2022, with support from The Strokes , HAIM , A$AP Rocky , St. Vincent and more.

Last month, the band revealed that they would be heading out on the road next year for their first shows since  guitarist John Frusciante rejoined the band  in 2019 after a 10-year absence.

The news of the band’s live return was shared during a spoof news segment from the fictional KHOT  station. In the video, the station’s presenters (aka RHCP singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith) interviewed Frusciante about the prospect of the tour.

The full list of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2022 world tour dates have now been revealed via another tongue-in-cheek news conference. The tour starts in Europe in June next year, with UK dates set in Manchester, London and Glasgow as well as an Irish date in Dublin.

Additional support on the tour will come from Beck , Anderson .Paak , King Princess and more.

Tickets go on general sale from 10am next Friday (October 15) here , while fans can access a pre-sale from 10am tomorrow (October 8) by pre-ordering the band’s new album, set for release in 2022, here .

Earlier this year, Red Hot Chili Peppers revealed that they are currently at work on a new album with John Frusciante and that they’re “psyched” to have their old guitarist back in the fold.

Earlier this year the band sold their songwriting catalogue to Hipgnosis , joining an extensive list of artists who have recently signed over their intellectual property in multi-million dollar deals.

The deal, which  Billboard  reports may not have closed yet, is worth at least £100million ($140million) and is likely to include their hit tracks ‘Snow (Hey Oh)’, ‘Californication’, ‘Otherside’, ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Give It Away’, among others.

Red Hot Chili Peppers announce huge world stadium tour with three UK dates for 2022

Uk dates include manchester, london and glasgow.

By Emma Kelly

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced a huge global stadium tour for 2022, with three shows in the UK.

The 32-date world tour, which is the band’s first ever stadium tour in the US, marks the return of guitarist John Frusciante to the group, after he returned to the Chilis in 2019 after a 10-year absence.

RHCP announced the details of their world tour via a spoof video, which saw Anthony Kiedis, Frusciante, Flea and Chad Smith morph into newsreaders in the fictional KHOT newsroom.

The tour kicks off on June 4 in Seville, Spain, before the band play Manchester’s Old Trafford Stadium on June 22 with special guests A$AP Rocky and Thundercat.

A date at the London Stadium on June 25 with special guests Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and Thundercat follows, while the Chilis will play Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on July 1 with Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and Thundercat.

The ‘Dani California’ stars will also play Dublin on June 29 and have announced dates in Spain, The Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Germany and France as part of the European leg of the tour.

The North American leg kicks off on July 23 in Denver, Colorado with a further 19 dates before the tour ends on September 18 in Dallas, Texas.

Beck, Haim, King Princess, St Vincent and The Strokes will also be joining the band as special guests on various dates.

RHCP said: ‘The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been around, and have not just fallen off the turnip truck, but to a man, they have never been more thrilled, bursting with commitment and purpose, as they are regarding this upcoming tour. They have no interest in resting on past accolades, awards or commercial success, this is a mission, they intend to channel the most mighty spirits, and give everything they’ve got.’

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday October 15 to the general public, with fan presale, which can be accessed by pre-ordering the band’s next album , commencing on Wednesday October 13 at 10am.

“I went to the first rehearsal, that I was invited to after John rejoined the band and it made me cry. It was so thrilling to see that group of people back together because they made such great music for so long together and it really hit me in an emotional way.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce 2022 Stadium Tour Plans With Wacky News Broadcast

By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

On the same day Blood Sugar Sex Magick celebrates its 30th birthday , the Red Hot Chili Peppers revealed that they will embark on a global stadium tour in 2022.

The band made the announcement in a faux-news broadcast, with co-anchors Johnson Hammerswaddle (or Anthony Kiedis) and Todd the Squirrel (Flea) alerting viewers of KHOT News about the band’s plans, but not before giving a rundown of the day’s news.

“Half of humanity will boil alive by next Thursday, and there’s a new chicken sandwich coming out,” Todd the Squirrel said before kicking it over to weatherman Randy Raindrops (Chad Smith).

Guitarist John Frusciante — as himself — then joined the broadcast to reveal, “We’re gonna do a tour starting in June 2022”; the U.S. leg will kick off in July.

The trek will mark the band’s first in 15 years with Frusciante, who reunited with the band back in December 2019 following a 10-year absence. As Live Nation noted in a press release that accompanied the announcement, “All the tour dates, sales information, support acts and other factoids will be available shortly.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers last performed live together at a benefit show in November 2019, a gig that was guitarist Josh Klinghoffer’s final concert with the band .

The tour kicks off in Europe at Estadio La Cartuja in Seville, Spain on June 4th and runs through mid-July before a 19-date trek through North America. Tickets go on sale October 15th, with a RHCP fan presale beginning on October 9th. Guests in North America include the Strokes, Beck, HAIM, St. Vincent, Thundercat, and King Princess.

Red Hot Chili Peppers announce 2022 world tour dates

The Chili Peppers will be joined, at various shows, by The Strokes, A$AP Rocky, Beck, HAIM, St. Vincent, Thundercat, King Princess and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers have revealed the full details of the 2022 world tour they first announced two weeks ago.

The California funk-rock specialists will first be traversing western European stadiums from early June through mid-July, before heading to North America in late July, where they'll do an even larger run of stadium dates until mid-September.

It's the band's first tour with electric guitar player John Frusciante since 2007, and on it, they promise to play – in addition to their many hits – "new music from their forthcoming album," according to the press release announcing the tour. Now, that's an exciting tease!

Just as they did with the tour's announcement, the band got dressed up in their finest anchor costumes to break the news – in their own, typically irreverent way – on their own "KHOT News Room."

For the dates, the quartet will be joined by an impressive carousel of openers – The Strokes, A$AP Rocky, Beck, HAIM, St. Vincent, and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals.

Tickets for the shows go on sale to the general public next Friday, October 15, at 10 a.m. local time, while fan presale begins Saturday, October 9 at 10 a.m. local time in North America, and Wednesday, October 13 at 10 a.m. local time in Europe. The trek begins in Spain next June

Red Hot Chili Peppers Unlimited Love Black Summer

After previously announcing their plans to hit the road next year, Red Hot Chili Peppers have confirmed the routing of their 2022 world tour. Like the tour announcement, dates and cities were revealed via another news parody video that the band released. Check out the hilarious clip below.

North America presale starts October 9 and EU/UK presale starts October 13. For full ticket information and to sign up for the presale code, head to https://redhotchilipeppers.com .

The tour will see the band play stadiums with a plethora of special guests including Beck, The Strokes, St. Vincent, HAIM, A$AP Rocky, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Thundercat, and King Princess on select dates.

In an  exclusive interview  with The Rock Revival back in May, drummer Chad Smith revealed that the band is working on a new album.

“We’re making our record. And when it’s done, which should be…I don’t know when. I’ll get in trouble if I say, ‘It’s going to be done then.’”

Red Hot Chili Peppers parted ways with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer back in December of 2019. Shortly after, they reunited with Frusciante. A few months later, the Chili Peppers performed with Frusciante at the Tony Hawk Foundation’s memorial concert for Andrew Burkle.

John Frusciante was a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers for their 1989 outing  Mother’s Milk  and their seminal 1991 album  Blood Sugar Sex Magik , which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. He left the group but would return in 1998 to play on  Californication ,  By The Way , and  Stadium Arcadium , before exiting again in 2009.

Live reviews

The main show was great. BUT......

The forband was quite bad and dident bring the mood up, it was just awkward since I dont see how they play the same type of music as RHCP

Other then that the security guards were simply asholes litterly taking thier power above and beyond any reason.

I dont see how people that stand in the front baricade can get water. sure they had 1 guy with a water bottle coming back once an hour too give water to those he could REACH but one water bottle cant give 100-200 ppl water. There was ALOT of ppl feeling sick and had headaches. even one girl fainted.

The guards conficated and took all water bottles and all food that we had in our backpack even if the waterbottles were empty. Not PET (plastic) bottles

But exspensive sport bottles. Saying it SAYS so on the ticket and when I pointed out it IT DOES NOT he said we could had alchohol in it...IN A EMPTY WATER BOTTLE. (we emptied when they asked) then saying we could fill it with alchole inside.

Why the fuck would anyone fill a water bottle with alchole inside the arena? there are TENS OF THOUSENDS plastic cups that decorates the floor of the arena after the show. and I bet it wasent water in them. I lost a very exspansive water bottle that I baught after climbing the highest mauntian in sweden. They are not easy to get, sinec I have to get there again if i want one

for me this litterly made my entire show a massive headache after waiting for 9 hours for the show and just to get abused by security and then have a shit time with headache. why why why cant you have a waterbottle in a backpack.

The price for a water bottle inside the arena was outragous 50 swedish KR for a small bottle...when tap water is free. And when I pointed out that it is swedish law that when serving alchole they are force to serve free water but they refused. IT makes me so fucking angry it ruin the entire experince. JUST LET PEOEPLE HAVE WATERBOTTLES and people would have a MUCH GREATER TIME.

As one of the best-selling bands of all time with seven Grammys under their belt, Red Hot Chili Peppers are still going strong 30 years on from their debut album, and their arena gigs are something that I really think everyone should try to experience.

From their live performances in the late 80s early 90s, they have only maintained their energy and enthusiasm, demonstrating their dedication and drive has not dwindled with time, as their explosive lighting, and sound balances continue to please and excite their audience.

Just last year at Big Day Out in Sydney, the Chili Peppers gave an electric performance of their globally acclaimed track 'Californication', contrasting this energy with their stunning classic 'Under The Bridge'. Their ability to transport the crowd from their ecstatic dancing enthusiasm into a sea of mellow phone holding, singing, dedicated followers is astounding, altering the mood of the fans flawlessly.

There are few bands who have been able to continue such a fan base and following over such a span of time as the Chili Peppers have, and their continually expanding fan base are extremely well deserved.

Seeing them in concert is a magical experience, one that I hope they will continue to provide, but if you get a chance, I seriously recommend that you try and catch a gig before you miss your chance. You are guaranteed a memorable performance.

Actually I was on the second show. The visual effects were awesome, but there were some audiotechnical issues what made Flea a bit upset. The band was so imprssive with full of energy. Especially Anthony and Flea, they were true showmen as always, however he missed the intro of Dark necessities so they had to restart and maybe I heard some missed vocal by Josh during the Snow. Moreover he changed the riff in the solo of Dani california, but as I saw that he can never run out of creative ideas. I liked the jamming parts ,once Flea and Josh played the intro of She lost control by Joy Division which was really nice to hear too. And also I've heard all of my favourite tracks by them. Personally Im a fan of the new album but I heard complains about the tracklist. Honestly I would start the show with Can't stop, but By the way was strong too and of course Give it away for the last song was an excellent choice. BUT! the real hero of the night was Chad f#ckin Smith who got a little injuriy but still finished the show. That would be perfect if he would played Can't stop :D All in all I loved the whole thing, I love all of their aeras, I respect Hill (r.i.p.) and my idol is John but they have to keep up and introduce the new crazy face of them. Thank you for that awesome adventure!

On June 22, 2017 the Red Hot Chili Peppers played the First Ontario Center in Hamilton, Canada. The Chilies are Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and they deliver every time. The same cannot be said for the opening acts.

Jack Irons came out first and played a non-offensive drum and synthesizer set. It was very yawn worthy.

This was followed by Deerhoof. If you have never seen this four person band, your not missing anything. Their music is heavy on drums and guitar, who are both pretty good, but the vocals are terrible. The vocals remind me something Yoko Ono would have come up with in a drug induced haze. I have seen countless musical acts and I can say without a doubt Deerhoof is the worst ever. I actually got up a left the show for 30 minutes to escape the assault on my ears.

If your going to see the Chili Peppers and you have seats, grab a few more beers and save your ears from the opening acts. These opening acts drained the energy from arena and the Red Hot Chili Peppers would be better served to either find new opening acts or skipping opening acts all together and simply playing their set. The RHCP always deliver, but the opening acts failed.

The show was epic and totally rocked! It was a hairy mess getting into and out of there, but well worth it. It felt so great to be there, like being part of something important. Seeing something that will be talked about for decades and hopefully broke down some barriers between cultures. RHCP was spreading love and understanding and put on a fantastic show, which they also transmitted live to the world (which I think is unbelievably generous for a band of their stature to send out for free to everyone on the planet with an internet connection)! I’ve been a long time fan but haven’t seen them since 1992 at Lollapalooza in Michigan. Honestly, the band played better than ever matching or bettering the albums. Anthony’s voice was absolutely perfect. Chads drumming perfect, Fleas bass was stellar and energetic. Joshs guitar tones were so very interesting I’ve spent hours since looking up on the internet all of his eqpt. My wife and I will never forget the show and cant wait to see them again. Oh yeah, the merch tables ran out of shirts so we bought some online. -Merk

Not much more to say that one third of my life goals were completed after seeing Anthony, Flea, Chad & Josh. It was almost undescribable but I'll do my best. From the first second when you could hear the horns playing and seeing them come up to the stage the adrenaline rush was dangerous. Everybody giving all they had since they first heard the first slam on the snare drums. The chemistry between all four reverberated across the whole audience and I felt like the people around me where my family. The acoustics were spot on amazing and the light show was jaw opening. Each song and jam was like having a different dream with the cosmic sounds they made and the expanding lights that danced around. The whole experience was one that I wish I could relive. When the band left before their encore, the community chants to bring them back filled my with patriotism and unity and once they came back to please the audience, they didn't disappoint.

I think that Red Hot Chili Peppers are really good to see in concert. This concert was reeeeaaaally funny i had really enjoy it !!! The songs of the group are really great and i love their music a lot. I enjoy the way that they play the song like "give it away", they sounds so much better than the music on CDs, there we can juste see the energie of the musician playing on the scene its really joicefull. Flea is just amazing on the scene and the other players too.

I've just one regret, just that the group is coming to the scene and didn't really comunicate with the public.

The only moment when they talk to us was to say "We love Paris,we love Parisian..." and then they spoke too fast for french people (lol)

And they didn't say goodbye.

Nevertheless this concert was my favourit, it was just amazing !!!

I really think this is a group to see on a scene, a time in a life!!!

It was the second time I saw the RHCP after 2012 & the show at "Stade de France". I'm pretty diappointed, not because of the show, it was awsome, but because of the behavior of the public.

A few people hit me & my friends in the face because we were dancing around, having fun... telling us we where assholes when we were in front of them.

As an answer, we apologized and moved somewhere else not to disturb them. But it was the same everywhere, peoples hit us, told we were cheaters and the "we had not waited as long as them outside".... how could they know... we apologised again, and went somewhere in a concert to dance without "hurting" anybody's emotions.

I love the RHCP but this show will stay in my mind as the one I could not dance and appreciate the moment without being judje by the people around...

With a lot of Pain,

Me and my friends.

Although I had tried to get used to the idea that the band I was going to see had changed over the years, and had lost part of their spirit, I couldn't help to feel sad and nostalgic. The concert was great in general, and the musical performances in particular. Smith & Flea seemed devoted, as usual. Kiedis, not so much. I can't stop thinking that they've become a brand, that they got too comfortable. A product for masses, with those amazing visual effects. What I really disliked was the end of the concert. They ended it with one of the new songs (which I honestly hadn't even listened before) and they jumped out of the stage. Only Smith stayed to say "muchas, muchas, muchas, muchas gracias", goodness. It was worht it, just to listen to the good oldies, and see how they keep trying the pirouettes all over the stage. Still love them.

maria-noguera-castan’s profile image

Really good concert! There some really great lights that hang from the ceiling and move up and down, as well as change colors depending on the mood of the song. I actually read somewhere that there's about 800 lights-the biggest in any tour ever. The visuals on the big screen behind the chili peppers are really cool too-basically the visuals are outstanding. Now on to what really matters; the music. The chili peppers (as you may have expected) deliver really high energy and fun songs through the concert, from old hits like "suck my kiss" to newer songs like"dark necessities" the concert was really great and it seemed everyone had a good time. Highly recommend!
