Day 3 – Monkey Island

A small country in the North America/South America connection, Panama is an enchanting country which hosts a combination of colonial architecture with modern skyscrapers. Featuring the world famous 48 mile canal and more species of birds than the entire expanse of North America, Panama is an incredible location for any yacht charter guest.

Any trip to Panama should start at the magnificent Panama City. As capital to the prestigious country, the city is built high in the sky and is everything you could possibly want it to be. Essential for business and commercial industries, Panama City has the very best in every market. If shopping is your preferred pursuit, you’ll want to make sure you leave some time to stop over at  Albrook.

The Albrook district of the city has the largest shopping mall in the region and even has a small airport so you can visit other areas of Panama. Hosting a number of world famous brands as well as various eateries and even a cinema, you can easily spend an entire day in the central precinct.

An ideal end to a day of shopping is a night out on the town in one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Panama, Bella Vista. This is where the nightlife is truly at its best. The Calle Uruguay zone has a multitude of exciting clubs and bars, as well as some unmissable restaurants which overlook the canal. If local cuisine isn't your preferred taste, there are also many global names to choose from for your dining options.

Moving away from the main hub of activity in Panama City, an interesting stop is the Biomuseo. The only one of its kind in the area, this museum stands out from the crowd with its vibrant, multicoloured canopy. Focused on the history and ecological aspects of the country, the museum teaches visitors about how the isthmus emerged from the sea and the subsequent changes it made to the global layout thereafter.

Getting a true taste of Panama is easy enough by exploring the exciting and varied terrains, but if you really want to taste it you’ll need to sample what is considered by some as the best coffee in the world. Grown far up in the Chiriqui highlands, the Geisha blend is highly sought after by International buyers and coffee enthusiasts alike.

Staying with the natural environment of Panama, any visit to the country would not be complete without at least one visit to the nature trails. With some located unbelievably close to the main city, it is easy to find an area of natural beauty. The protected Metropolitan National Park has some staggering nature trails that guide through varying heights and terrains to see some of Mother Nature's best work.

Another beauty spot worth visiting is the Summit Municipal Park. Just as green and beautiful as the Metropolitan park, this spot is mostly dedicated to botanical gardens which offer you a magical and vibrant walk. In addition to the flora and fauna there are also many chances to see some exotic birds including great green macaw, brown backed dove, stripe cheeked woodpecker and crested eagles.

For more incredible wildlife, your nrcy port of call will be to head to the coast for a spot of whale watching. From June until November you may be lucky enough to see some humpback whales leaping from the sea. Returning every year, the whales come to Panama for their mating season and they don't come alone. While scouring the waters you could also see some bottlenose and spotted dolphins.

Returning to the hub of activity the Old Town District awaits your arrival to see one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites. After an inferno in 1671, the majority of the original Panama City was destroyed. Started purposefully to prevent a large scale attack and robbery, this event remains a fascinating chapter in the history of Panama. The remnants of the ancient city still remain to be a crowd pleaser and offer clear insight into the ancient construction work of city building. While at the site you can still see the remains of the cathedral tower and view a scale model of what the original settlement looked like before the blaze.

If the Panama canal has made an impression on you, there's one more stop you can make before venturing elsewhere. The Observation Center gives you an unprecedented view of the canal extension and the latest locks in place. Panama Yacht Charters

Situated between North and South America, Panama has been appropriately named the Crossroads of the Americas. The country is known for its nature-rich and accessible rainforests, spectacular mountains, and highlands.

Panama is the southernmost of the Central American nations and is located south of Costa Rica and north of Colombia. The Panama Canal bisects the isthmus at its narrowest and lowest point, allowing passage from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean. A chain of mountains in the west, moderate hills in the interior, and a low mountain range on the east coast marks Panama. There are also extensive forests along its fertile Caribbean coast.

Nature and History

Panama is a country where tribal communities of indigenous peoples survive with fortitude. The largest, the Kuna, have a degree of autonomy over their homelands. ALL INCLUSIVE HIGHLIFE YACHT PARTY

We offer an all inclusive yacht party experience that is second to none in Panama. Setting up your group with the perfect yacht or catamaran depending on your group size and budget. We stock the boat for an open bar party consisting of either standard liquors including Stolichnaya vodka, Ron Abuelo, national beers, and mixers OR we go premium in which you tell us your preferences and we stock it  with liquors such as Grey Goose, Patron, Johnnie Walker- you name it. ​

Where do we go? Departing from one of the marinas in downtown we head off to the nearby island of Taboga where we will pull into a protected cove right off a white sand beach where we drop anchor. Surrounded by other yachts all doing the same thing, you can let loose and party on the yacht or head to the island. 

Group transport is included and all marina fees or loading fees. When we say all inclusive, we mean everything is taken care of. We'll also provide a VIP host who can take care of any party favors or extras for the boat party.

DEEP SEA FISHING - THE PEARL ISLANDS

Some of the best fishing you could do - we take you from downtown Panama City to the archipelago of the Pearl Islands.  Depending on the size of your group and budget we will hook you up with one of our top fishing vessels and pro crews. Depending on the vessel it will take between 1 hour 20 min - 2 hours 30 min to arrive to the Pearl Islands. Our deep sea fishing charters depart from the marina no later than 8am.  The fishing charters are the same all inclusive as the yacht party, but the open bar tends to lean more to the beer side and we provide sandwich fixings + snacks. 

Want to go after the prize trophy catches and don't want to spend hours in the vessel to arrive to the fishing spots? No problem, we can arrange private flight charters to the island of San Jose at the end of the Pearl Islands where we will arrange the yacht to meet you and take you to the continental shelf where you'll be going after the large tuna and sailfish.

Wonderful day trip from Panama City. The staff and crew were fantastic and pointed out several humpbacks and schools of dolphins. We were greeted with a nice breakfast box followed by juice, snacks and great beach day in Chapera with cristal clear water. The lunch was delicious and plentiful. They provide drinks at the beach for an additional price. The music was pleasant and a reasonable level. Highly recommended.

What an excellent way to spend a day in the Panama City area! The day includes whale watching, time at the beach on Chapera Island, meals and drinks. Adult beverages are available for reasonable prices too. Plus there is a DJ onboard the catamaran. Let’s get back to the whales. We had sooooo many breaching whales. [I wish we could upload videos bc it was truly spectacular.] Absolutely incredible! I would definitely do this again. Finally, the crystal clear, warm water at Chapera is perfect for swimming. (I am a bird watcher so getting Blue-footed Boobies and Storm-petrels were a wonderful treat too!)

Charter a yacht in Panama!

The area of the Central and South American nation of Panama is 75,517 square kilometers (29,208 square miles). The Pacific and Caribbean oceans, which are separated by barely 50 miles at their narrowest point, flank it. The 2.7 million Panamanians speak Spanish as their mother tongue, but English is also widely spoken. Since 1904, the U.S. dollar has been accepted as legal tender in Panama, which is also a stable, democratic, and independent Republic. All major credit cards are accepted at the numerous ATMs located around the country. Panama is home to the fifth-largest international banking hub in the world. You need a current passport, and your airline may be able to give you a 90-day tourist card.

Major North and South American cities have direct flights to Panama’s Tocumen International Airport. The travel time to Miami is two hours. His hurricane-free country has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons, and European aircraft fly across it. From the middle of December through May, the frigid trade winds blow. Weak winds and infrequent precipitation characterize the remaining months of the year. The steady temperature fluctuates between 80 and 90 °F (25 to 30 °C).

A yacht hire is the finest way to explore the 365-island San Blas archipelago. It is located along the Caribbean coast and is the most scenic region in all of Panama. Kuna Yala is a land and marine park that offers both sea and land resources. It was established as an independent Indian territory in 1938. Overlooking this breathtaking uninhabited, pure, and relatively unexplored sanctuary on the continent is the “cordillera de las San Blas” mountain range. You can rent a motor yacht or a catamaran in Panama. The alternative is to rent a sailing boat.

The Kuna Indians of today still live on the islands much like their ancestors did, swapping coconuts and venturing out to sea to capture crabs, lobsters, and snapper in exquisite hand-carved wooden canoes called “Cayucos” with patchwork sails. The women continue to wear the distinctive orange and yellow costumes with the renowned “mola” rainbow colored designs that are embellished with fish, birds, jungle creatures, or geometric patterns in the majority of the communities, where only the old Indian language is spoken. They have lengths of beads called “Uinni” that are firmly strung around their arms and legs, and they wear a golden ring on the point of their nose. After arriving in Panama, fly to Porvenier quickly on a small aircraft. Your crew will welcome you and take you back to your charter yacht on the tender. Onboard, savor a relaxing lunch before exploring the charming Nalunega. A quick excursion to the Chichime Cays gives plenty of time to observe the sunset over Panama’s highlands.

Spend the morning snorkeling in the pristine seas before grudgingly making your way back to the boat for lunch. Your captain will maneuver the boat to the following anchorage, Holandes Cays, while you enjoy an outdoor meal on the covered deck. The thought of diving back into the sea or taking a stroll down the white sand beach while unwinding under a coconut palm is almost too tempting to resist.

Enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee while you watch the sun rise over a picture-perfect tropical island. Leave for the Coco Bandero Cays after breakfast. A beach BBQ will serve as lunch, and afterwards you can take a sleep in a hammock hung between two palm palms. Afterward, you may go swimming or kayaking before sunset cocktails.

As you move toward Alitupu, which is close to the mainland, you can hear the calm hum of the engine. Discover the neighboring river while taking in the dense canopy of the rainforest and the countless bird species that call it home.

Leave Nurdupu’s tranquil perfection for the busier island of Rio Diablo. Lunch in town to sample regional food and take advantage of the welcoming Kuna Indians’ hospitality. With its expansive stands of bamboo and mango trees, the Rio Nasadi will be gently explored in the afternoon.

An early start for Ustupu, where the largest community in San Blas, with 8,000 residents, is located! However, there is still time to make one final quick stop to enjoy a swim in the gin-clear waters before bathing and making the short trek to the airport to catch your flight back to civilisation. You are aware that you must go back because there are still hundreds of islands to discover. The journey will continue.
