Brian Hugh Warner, better known as Marliyn Manson is an American musician, songwriter and multimedia artist from Ohio who has worked in fields including music, film and art.
Manson's first exposure to the music industry came whilst he was studying a journalism degree at Broward Community College in Florida, to gain experience he got a job working for 25th Parallel Magazine. He met several musicians including Nine Inch Nails, The Perfect and Trent Reznor who went on to inspire his own musical stylings in the future. Manson began to make music with guitarist Scott Putesky under the name Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids, they later shortened it to just Marilyn Manson and continued to create demos and play small gigs.
In 1993, the band won the attention of Trent Reznor who agreed to release their first album on his label 'Portrait Of An American Family', it was not a commercial success at the time but has now sold over 600,000 copies in the US. This album gained the band a cult following when they toured it around the States. The follow up EP Smells Like Children and their first MTV hit in the form of a cover of Eurythmics 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)' increased their fan base dramatically ahead of their second album release. 'Antichrist Superstar' has sold over seven million copies worldwide to date and became the turning point in the band's career, the combination of Manson as an eccentric frontman and the warped lyrics found in their discography turned their live shows into a cult phenomena which toured all over the world.
Manson has also worked within the film industry, making his debut in 1997 'Lost Highway' that was directed by David Lynch and has had minor roles in a number of films during his career. He is known as a controversial figure in the mainstream media due to his gothic appearance and demonic lyrics which are said to have a negative effect on his young listeners.
Live reviews
I’m so bored with the rain at Red Rocks this year, but evidently it’s not quite done with me yet. The sky pissed down on us while we were tailgating. It pissed down on us while we were in line to get in. And it pissed on us sideways as Cage tried to warm thing up with a spitfire set of hostile hip-hop. God must have gotten on Mother Nature’s bad side though, because everything cleared up for the Antichrist Superstar. As the preacher preached about Satan, the wind removed the elaborate backdrop to expose the rocks behind. “Let me hear you Red Rocks!”, Manson demanded in a surprisingly strong voice against the current of air blowing toward the stage. “Deep Six”, from his best album in ages, kicked things off before Manson thanked Denver for staying loyal. I’ve seen Manson perform a few times since I’ve lived in Colorado and he really has a soft spot for the fans who stuck by him when the zealots were trying to crucify him over the Columbine High School massacre. Of course he had nothing to do with that tragedy, but that didn’t stop the death threats when he’d come through the state. “Disposable Teens” was written about that situation, so it was a fitting dedication to the growing crowd. “mOBSCENE”, “No Reflection” and “Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge” are all great songs as well, and the band performed the hell out of them, but it wasn’t Manson broke a bottle and cut himself with it that I thought the show might be slightly different than those I’ve seen since the Dead to the World Tour in ’96. Sure enough, after giving props to Cage and Twiggy, the stilts came out for “Sweet Dreams”, which was pretty cool, but when he gave flight to “Angel With The Scabbed Wings”, I knew we were going down the path of sweet destruction. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2015/07/15/the-end-times-tour-red-rocks-07-13-15/#sthash.tUiypQIB.dpuf

I'm aware how easy it would be to assume a "super fan" of Marilyn Manson might say what I'm about to say but, I began to get extremely (and I mean extremely) nervous to do this. Meet him, that is. I purchased VIP meet & greet bc I admire him as an artist but mainly for him as an individual. He's intelligent. He has opinions. He talks & makes music about things that actually matter. He uses his soapbox to say things people should hear. Point being is, I do idolize Marilyn Manson. I do consider him a role model. His music is not what makes me a fan (granted I am a fan of it) but it's who he presents himself to be and how he portrays it. After realizing I know this about myself I didn't know why I would allow myself to do this. Never meet your idols they say. They can let you down. I think Manson *seems* like a great dude but, he IS a rock star. What if he crushes my whole admiration for him by not living up to my expectations? Panic! Well let me tell you.. Marilyn Manson is one guy who is exactly who he says he is. I can shed a tear about how sincere he was and how personal he tried to be with his fans. He EXCEEDED everything I imagined. If it wasn't for management forcing me off of his tour bus, i don't think he would have asked me to leave. I feel so lucky that the person I have been crazy about for idk how many years was exactly "what you see is what you get" and literally left an imprint on me forever. Way to not let a fan down in ANY way, shape, or form, Marilyn Manson. Who would of thought I could be any bigger of a fan than I already was.
Marilyn Manson still rocking cultness and creativity. Though Marilyn Manson's concerts seem best fitted for a small to medium size venue, he nonetheless continues to deliver the goods. I have seen him multiple times in multiple venues and sizes of such, from GA/standing room only in the lobby of another theatre, to midway back in a moderate-sized arena and in the pit almost as close as the stage itself at a summer festival. Theatricality continues to be a vital and integral part of any given set. Not only that, but with something always in the bag of tricks and a campy wardrobe, Manson is never the same man twice. Depending on the theme of the album he tours in support of, he rocks duds to pair with the music in question and also utilises matching stage props. Still, Manson sings a healthy cross section of songs old and new, always with a dark ambiance as is evident in the instrumentation. His backup band has included numerous members coming and going along the way such as Madonna Wayne Gacy aka Pogo on keyboards, drummer Ginger Fish and guitarist John 5, the latter two of whom have also worked with Rob Zombie, and Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna. Regardless, Manson has always handpicked, toured and recorded with a truly star studded cast. Wailing, intricate guitar solos combine with electronics and thumping bass and drum beats, resulting in a satisfying performance!
What a show! As well as being a brilliant and talented artist, he's just such a performer as well. I have like Manson for a while, and I wanted to see him in concert. I expected it to be brilliant, but this exceeded all possible expectations! He began with 'Deep Six', a real belter in its own right. Then, soon after, he played 'mOBSCENE', which sounded fantastic, and was a highlight of the evening. After a few more great songs, came 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)', with Manson on stilts for the entire time- sounded just like the record, if not better. Later on came dope show, with Manson dressed in his typical celebrity outfit, which really rang with the Manson fans. Probably the absolute highlight was 'Anti-Christ Superstar', with Manson on his podium, with a burning book, and with the crowd infatuated with him. At some point in this period of time, Manson has also cut himself with a broken bottle, which was quite the spectacle. Then to finish, a few more songs were played, including 'The Beautiful People', which was both eerie and fantastic. Overall, I would recommend Manson as a performer and as an artist to anyone who likes that genre, and I can assure you, you are very unlikely to be disappointed!
Marilyn Manson is an artist known as much for his controversy as his creativity. A visual performer who has been involved in many forms of the media including music, film and art over his long career. His live show is something of cult legend these days so from the dark opening riffs of 'Angel With The Scabbed Wings', the audience know they are in for a visual experience more than a simple gig.
Manson is known for heavily involving theatrics into his live show and you are never quite prepare for what he'll have lurking in his bag of tricks. He also appears to dress to match the music or album that is promoting at the time. Playing a good mixture of new material, Manson stormed through these songs in quick succession.
Although it was his cult classics such as 'The Beautiful People' and 'The Dope Show' that achieved the greatest reaction from the rabbling crowd. His cover of Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams' was camp, twisted and eccentric, everything Manson is known for. Another great cover of Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus' wraps up a fast paced, but brilliant set.
Marilyn Manson was phenomenal. Not as energetic as the show I went to last year, but I can understand what touring can do in the long run. I was concerned about his health for he was looking rather weak and I was worried that his health problems may be acting up. Hopefully, after this tour, he can take a well deserved rest.
However, he didn't disappoint me when it came to his shock theatrics. From cutting himself to walking on stilts to screaming on the top of his Antichrist Superstar podium, he amazed me and never ceases to. The seat I had was great, and for his closing song (The Beautiful People), he came out into the crowd and he walked right by me and got a nice picture of him.
Despite not playing as many songs as the last show and mostly his metal songs, I will always try to make one show per year. Manson has always been one of my top favorite artists, and always will be. And even if he is in a wheelchair or crawling on the stage, gasping for air, but still singing his heart out and playing occasional instruments, I will always stay a devoted fan.
Having been a fan of Marilyn Manson now for 25 years I first saw Mr Manson at 'The Milton Keynes Bowl' UK big day out back in 1999 and he owned the stage blowing everyone else out of the water,he was on the same bill as 'Metallica' and was way better to be fair.
It was some time before I saw Manson again at 'The Wolverhampton Civic' UK in 2015 and for anyone who tells you that Marilyn's voice is not what it used to be its a out and out lie!
Believe me when I say that man can truly sing and has a rock voice gifted from the gods!,he was well and truly on form and totally rocked! I was in awe of his singing and showmanship, he definetely well and truly owned the stage and brought all his fans together old and young and didn't dissapoint me.
He even played some of the older stuff from the'Antichrist Superstar'era so I was 'hella happy'.
I would give him 1 million out of 10 in terms of a perforamce,go see him you won't be left dissapointed,in fact I was buzzing after his gig for months and can't wait until he plays in my area in the UK again.
Terrible, terrible gig. One of the worst, if not the worst, gig I have ever been to.
I'm a fan of Marilyn Manson's work, especially the last three albums. His live performance, however, leaves much to be desired. Main points below:
#1 Weak voice - raspy, but not in a good way
#2 Obvious animosity between Brian and his guitarist
#3 Pauses between songs, sometimes longer than the songs themselves.
If I'd sum up the pauses between the songs they would last longer than the sum of the songs performed.
#4 Dropping mic after EVERY song
#5 Only played "the best of" set list, pretty much "fan service" and again - not in the good way
#6 Ended abrubtly with no indication
#7 Almost no crowd interaction
Stone Sour was their support and they did a HELL of a job - it felt as though MM was THEIR support, only the perform order was mixed up for some reason. I wanted to see Marilyn Manson for quite a long time and after yesterday I am not willing to see them ever again live.
This was my first time seeing Manson and my first time going to the Rave, I'm not really a big Manson fan but my girlfriend is and we had always heard his shows were very theatrical, so we got VIP Balcony tickets.
Got there early to get a seat, we found some left center stage.
The acoustics of the building naturally make the music echo slightly, which made it difficult to hear when he was talking.
I was somewhat disappointed as to the lack of theatrics that I was expecting.
Weird note though, I took a few videos with my phone and when I got home, I could hear (and sometimes see) better on the video then I could when I was there live.
Glad we got to see him, not sure I'd see him again because I'm not that into it.
As far as The Rave venue, I probably would go if it was the right band to see.
I can see that louder bands in there would, in my opinion, be too loud for the room.
Marilyn Manson is a true rock star if there ever was one! I've been waiting 17 years to finally see him live and he did not disappoint. Yes, I should have seen him many times by now based on my love of his music and the fact that I dressed as him for Halloween when I was 14 years old, much to the dismay of my school teachers. However, it wasn't until last night that I finally saw him live. Good to see that he was able to deliver a great performance even after all of these years on the stage. He preformed many songs from the newest album, Pale Emperor, which I really love and he also preformed the classics. Every few songs the stage would change like acts of a play, as well as his clothes. Each time, representing the different versions of himself over the years based on each album. Screw Madonna, Marilyn Manson is the best at reinventing himself year after year.

Who Is In Marilyn Manson’s Live Band on 2024 Tour?
While playing his first show since early 2020 , the embattled Marilyn Manson debuted his backing band, featuring two returning members and a pair of new but familiar ones.
Both drummer Gil Sharone and guitarist Tyler Bates have returned to the fold after Manson's career was put on pause the last few years due to a high number of legal cases involving serious allegations of sexual abuse. Flanking them are bassist Piggy D. , formerly of Rob Zombie , and current Code Orange guitarist/co-vocalist Reba Meyers .

Manson's first show back came on Aug. 2 as Five Finger Death Punch launched their headlining tour which also features Slaughter to Prevail . Earlier that day, he released the single "As Sick As the Secrets Within," his first new music since 2020's We Are Chaos .
Bassist Piggy D. Leaves Rob Zombie for Marilyn Manson
In January, Piggy D. vacated his position as Rob Zombie's bassist after 18 years .
"Dear friends, my time with Zombie has come to an end. It was an honor to entertain you for the last 18 years. I look forward to the future and wish everyone the best," he wrote at the time.
He did not reveal what his next move was going to be, but Rob Zombie worked quickly and tabbed Ozzy Osbourne bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson to fill the role before the month was over.
It wasn't until he stepped foot onstage at Marilyn Manson's first show in almost five years that Piggy D.'s aforementioned future plans were revealed.
"It is with immense gratitude that I stand with these beautiful and inspiring people on this amazing journey," the bassist says in an Instagram post with Marilyn Manson's tour dates, "I hope to see you all there!"
Piggy D. was congratulated by a number of his peers, including Blasko, Acey Slade ( Misfits ), Richard Shaw (ex- Cradle of Filth ), Wednesday 13 and others.
Guitarist John 5 , who left Rob Zombie after 17 years to join Motley Crue in 2022 and was a member of Manson's band from 1998 to 2004, also celebrated the bassist's new gig. He commented with six fire emojis.
Code Orange's Reba Meyers on Guitar
Code Orange guitarist and co-vocalist Reba Meyers also made her onstage debut with Manson. She is an original member of the veteran hardcore group, who last released The Above in 2023.
This seems to have caught fans by surprise, many of whom expressed such in social media posts about not having this on their "2024 BINGO card."
Others were caught off guard for a different reason. At least one person recollected Meyers' 2020 statement about the termination of a Code Orange crew member over alleged sexual misconduct, while also taking note of the numerous allegations against Manson.
Meyers said this crew member (Matt) "was acting with horrible disrespect and misogyny towards women for many years" and expressed sorrow and disappointment over what had transpired.
The full statement can been seen in a follow-up message shared by Code Orange's Jami Morgan in June of 2020.
While many fan reactions skewed negative, there are some supports messages among the masses.
Returning Members — Tyler Bates + Gil Sharone
Guitarist Tyler Bates, who has been in an on/off role with Marilyn Manson since 2014, also plays guitar with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell 's solo band. There's an interesting connection there, too, as Greg Puciato (ex- The Dillinger Escape Plan ) sings in Cantrell's group and is currently in a relationship with Meyers.
Bates is also a famed composer, having worked on films such as Dawn of the Dead , 3000 , Halloween , Halloween II and more.
Gil Sharone, also of Stolen Babies and Team Sleep, reprises his role on drums. He first joined Manson's band in 2014, having left in 2019 before Manson paused all touring activity. Sharone was also a member of The Dillinger Escape Plan from 2007 to 2009 and played on Ire Works .

[Trigger warning: this article contains descriptions of domestic violence, as well as sexual and physical abuse.]
Marilyn Manson announced his first live dates in nearly five years on Friday (March 8), marking the shock rocker’s return to the road after more than half a dozen women accused the him of sexual and emotional abuse. The news came in an X post in which Manson revealed that he and Slaughter to Prevail will be hitting the road this summer/fall for a 30-date arena/amphitheater tour with Five Finger Death Punch slated to kick off on August 2 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA.
A Timeline of Abuse Allegations Against Marilyn Manson
Trending on billboard.
The singer was sued over allegations of sexual assault against a minor in January 2023, in which the “Jane Doe” claimed Manson groomed and sexually assaulted the then-underage girl early in his career. The graphic details of that Doe suit closely match the allegations from a number of the other women who have made claims against Manson, including that the singer subjected them to “ hostile and verbally abusive behavior ,” as well as racially charged language mixed with the sharing of intimate personal details.
After initially declining to name Manson as her abuser, Wood posted an Instagram statement in Feb. 2021 in which she wrote that “he [Manson] started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail.” Among her horrifying claims were that Manson would “draw swastikas over my bedside table when he was mad at me” and that he would allegedly tie the actress up and torture her ritualistically, lashing her to a “kneeler” bench and hitting her “over and over” with a Nazi whip from the Holocaust before shocking her welts and private areas until she broke the bench in half. Following Wood’s claims four other women came forward with similar allegations against Manson in a Vanity Fair article.
The “Antichrist Superstar” singer has been off the road since the final August 18, 2019 date on the Twins of Evil: Hell Never Dies joint tour with Rob Zombie and hasn’t released new music since his 2020 We Are Chaos album.

Over the past three years, Manson has been embroiled in a series of court battles and has been accused by several women — most notably "Westworld" star Evan Rachel Wood — of sexual, emotional and physical abuse.
Manson , who has denied all the allegations, has countersued a number of his alleged victims and judges have dismissed several of the abuse lawsuits against him.

Manson hasn't released new music since his 2020 "We Are Chaos" album.
In 2022, Marilyn confirmed he was dropped by his record label, Loma Vista Recordings , and talent agency CAA after he was accused of sexual assault.
Manson has consistently denied sexually assaulting or abusing anyone, claiming that his "intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners".
