I hope she reads this. SO lemme spill the tea. It was freaking amazing. I was so close I could see ever pore on her, and lemme tell you there isn’t many. She’s so amazing and I felt the show ran pretty smoothly except for the fact that it was very hot and everyone around you was sweating their ass off. But she was great. Best night of my life seeing the love of my life. She was so good and it was so beautiful if she ever were to return I would be there in a heart beat. Though the initial show was cancelled I wasn’t one bit mad after attending this one and it was really nice that my old tickets still were valid. Thanks dua, love you lots. -your biggest fan:)

It was the most lit concert i had ever attended. Dua was so full of life & super hyped for the whole concert. Im still upset that yesterday had come to an end way too soon. The most memorable memory i had was the moment she teared uo in her speech for 'New Love' as that song was way too genuine and its from the most vulnerable side of hers. The next memorable moment was the participation in 'IDGAF'the crowd was so wild, and Dua also had a moment with us when she remixed the sentence 'I dont give a F' like amazing man this is the most mesmerising concert i had ever attended. I love you Dua. (heartsheartshearts)

Oh, wow. Dua Lipa was absolutely fantastic! She is extraordinarily talented and really knows how to work a crowd. The band was brilliant — and I can say it was definitely loud enough!

I was very lucky to see her at a venue such as the Apollo. Such a small venue for somebody doing an arena tour! We got the tickets very early on, before she became massive, and I’m very glad we did.

The whole way home I was smiling. The last song — New Rules — set the place on fire, that last chorus was insanely good, and all complete with confetti canons!

Thank you for the time, Dua Lipa! Money well-spent; it was worth every second!

This concert will stay in my mind for as long as I live, thank you!

A Comprehensive Guide To Dua Lipa’s European Summer

Take notes.

dua lipa summer 2022 vacation

This summer, Dua Lipa takes to the stage once again, brining her Future Nostalgia Tour to Europe. After kicking off things in Miami earlier this year, the tour continued playing in areas throughout the European nation until early August, when she’ll take a break before finally dropping the curtain in Perth, Australia this November 2022. Back in action, the singer has received rave reviews for her performance, as well as her fashion choices and jaunts around the world’s most popular European cities like Paris, Florence, and Barcelona.

“When I’m touring, I always like to get out and do some touristy things: I don’t like the feeling of having been somewhere and only seen the inside of an arena,” Lipa said in a recent interview in the Financial Times . Which works for fans, considering she filled Instagram feeds with nothing but cool new restaurants, iconic architecture, as well as swoon-worthy outfits to steal. Her weekly newsletter, service95 , was also a blessing as it contained an endless array of the singer’s recommendations, hot takes, and cultural trends. While Lipa typically only had a few days to spend in each city, and a massive performance to give to boot, she still managed to make the most of her downtime. If you find yourself in one of these European cities, take a page out of the star’s book for the best things to eat, see, and play.

Dublin, Ireland

View on Instagram

While the European leg of the tour kicked off in Lipa’s hometown in London, the second stop on the tour was held in Ireland. After exploring the beautiful Irish countryside, the singer headed to Dublin where she grabbed cocktails with friends at the Vintage Cocktail Club and Peruke & Periwig . In her editor’s letter for service95, she gushed over the gorgeous architecture, history, and some of her favorite Irish pubs including Grogans and Toners Pub. After throwing back a pint or two, she feasted on fish and chips at the Fish Shop before dining at another celeb-favorite restaurant, Hugo’s , for authentic Irish cuisine.

Berlin, Germany

In a recent service95 newsletter, Lipa wrote, “If you were wandering the streets of Berlin this past week, you may have seen me strolling and soaking in one of my favorite European cities — a vibrant and eclectic hub for food, art, and some of the best nights out I’ve ever had.” After performing in the Mercedes Benz arena, the singer was spotted enjoying the art scene at the city's Boros Bunker and the Helmut Newton Foundation . After doing a bit of shopping at the Mauerpark Flea Market , she stopped for a bite at Burgermeister for the best burger in Berlin, Lavanderia Vecchia for pasta, and Ernst for a Michelin-starred meal.

Paris, France

Upon finishing her set at the Accor Arena, the star spent the weekend parading around Paris with designer Simon Porte Jacquemus and natural wine enthusiast Ochin Clovis at La Chope des Artistes — a French restaurant that posted a pic of the crew with the clever caption, “One sip is all it takes.” As a natural wine enthusiast herself, Lipa never visits Paris without stopping by her favorite natural wine bar Yard Paris , or hitting up her favorite ice cream joint — that also subsequently serves wine — called Folderol . When she's not sipping on vino, the singer can be seen enjoying food at Les Enfants Du Marché or Le Servan . Top it off with a couple of pics posing in front of the Eiffel Tower, a visit to the Louvre , and a star-studded soirée at Balenciaga’s Couture Dinner hosted at Hôtel de la Marine and you have yourself a Dua Lipa-approved trip to Paris.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

“Since childhood, I’ve been coming to Amsterdam quite regularly — more times than I count — because my mother’s side of the family lives here,” writes Lipa in a service95 newsletter. After revisiting the country on tour, the singer was spotted visiting some of her favorite cafes, like De Plantage and Winkel 43 , “For the sweetest apple pie she’s ever tried,” explains the newsletter. After renting a boat to explore the city via canal, the sports queen played a round of pickleball at Padel Next before finishing her trip with a final meal at Restaurant De Kas — a Michelin-starred restaurant praised for its locally sourced and sustainably grown food.

Florence, Italy

Checking in to the Belmond Hotel Splendido , Lipa and her model friend, Sarah Lysander, posted a series of photos from their hotel room balconies, doing yoga in the gardens, and dining al fresco. After a relaxing few days on the coast, the team headed south to Firenze, Florence. She arranged for a private tour of the Uffizi Galleries where she marveled over paintings by Botticelli, including the Birth of Venus. Finishing the tour, the singer went to the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi for an Aperol Spritz, had classic Italian cuisine at Trattoria Cammillo , and finished the night with some local gelato, where she jokingly wrote in an Instagram post, “At this point, my blood has turned into Gelato.”

Barcelona, Spain

After reuniting with her friend and natural wine sommelier, Ochin Clovis, the pair stopped by Gresca Restaurant to sip some vino and enjoy a selection of Tapas, like Iberico Jamon with caviar. Of course, her appetite didn’t stop there. Lipa also posted an Instagram photo of her dining on panchino (a fluffy bun stuffed with caviar) at Disfrutar , ranked number 5 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurant list. After satisfying her taste buds, the singer took in the sights exploring some of Barcelona’s most famous architecture like Sagrada Familia , Casa Batlló , and the modern art museum Fundació Joan Miró .

Lisbon, Portugal

Lipa explored the cobble-stone paved walkways of Lisbon with her BFF, Olive Ensley, where she took pics before her night out in front of the city’s iconic tram. After doing a bit of shopping at Casa das Vellas Loreto , a hand-crafted candle shop that has been around since 1789, she enjoyed reading a book while lounging poolside and eating gelato. As an avid art enthusiast, the ladies headed over to see one of Portugal's most famous artists, Paula Rego, at the Paula Rego House of Stories . Lipa and her team covered a deep dive into the artist’s work in her newsletter, highlighting Rego’s most famous painting depicting an illegal abortion. Her visceral paintings were believed to have influenced Portugal’s abortion discrimination bill in 2007 as well as sparked other political conversations thanks to her works, which are on display in Cascais.

Stockholm, Sweden

Come summer, Stockholm moves outdoors to take advantage of the longer days and late evening sunsets. Just a t10-minute ferry ride away from the main city, the singer hit the stage at Gröna Lund, a famous Swedish Amusement park — which she later enjoyed at night after hours with friends and family. In her downtime, Lipa enjoyed a relaxing day with her family yachting around the Swedish archipelago. Then she bordered a flight to her next destination, but not before stopping by the Moomin shop (a cartoon character from a popular Scandinavian book series) to purchase a mug (she has an impressive collection) for her afternoon tea.

Copenhagen, Denmark

After her tour de France, the English pop star headed over to Denmark to perform in the Roskilde Festival — better known as Scandanavia's largest music event. There she was joined by another famous headliner, Post Malone, who stuck around after the performance to team up with Lipa for what can only be described as Europe’s most epic (and probably only) game of beer pong against Turnstile. The next day, the singer submerged to cure her hangover with a couple of courses of food. While breakfast sandwiches and chicken fingers run the gamut for most of us, in “An attempt at being a food blogger,” Lipa joked in an Instagram post, she headed to Noma , one of the most coveted restaurants on the planet thanks to its number one spot on the World’s Best Restaurant List . A justified prize after a successful performance and round of BP.

About Dua Lipa

3x GRAMMY and 7x BRIT Award-winning global pop powerhouse Dua Lipa has announced her highly anticipated third album, Radical Optimism, will be released May 3rd. The album features the recently released “Training Season” and the euphoric club-ready track “Houdini,” which has become Dua’s longest running solo No. 1 on the UK Airplay charts and drew in over 12 million YouTube views within 24 hours of release.

“Houdini” garnered immediate praise across the board from the likes of Billboard and Rolling Stone, who lauded the track as “a neo-psychedelic dance-floor rager," to Pitchfork and Vogue, who called it “a pop masterclass.” “Houdini” followed Dua’s hit song "Dance The Night" from the box office sensation Barbie, which landed on the Oscars shortlist and earned nominations at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and the GRAMMYs.

Dua's certified platinum sophomore album Future Nostalgia solidified her position as both a critical success and top radio performer. The GRAMMY-nominated record was the longest running top 10 album by a female artist on the Billboard 200 in 2021 and spawned multiple worldwide hit singles, with “Levitating” earning certified diamond status and the title of Billboard’s No. 1 Hot 100 Song of 2021.

Dua has found superstar status on stage and off, thanks to her many passions outside of music. 2022 saw Dua launch Service95, a global style, culture and society editorial platform that now comprises a weekly newsletter, the Service95 book club and the Dua Lipa: At Your Service podcast, which has been lauded by The Sunday Times and The Guardian, and was named one of the Best Podcasts of 2022 by Spotify.

Having graced every major fashion magazine worldwide from Vogue and Elle to W and Dazed, Dua added "designer" to her resume in 2023 when she co-designed Versace's "La Vacanza" collection alongside Donatella Versace herself, which Vogue deemed "the hottest collaboration of the summer."

Dua’s eponymous 2017 debut album is certified platinum, spawned six platinum tracks, and made her the first female artist in BRIT Awards history to pick up five nominations in a single year. Dua has a total of 10 GRAMMY nominations, with three wins for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording.

Across platforms globally, she has amassed over 40 billion streams and holds the record for having the top two most streamed albums by a female artist of all time on Spotify.

About the artist

Dua Lipa is a British singer-songwriter with Albanian roots. Her first two singles, “New Love” and “Be The One”, released in 2015, propelled her to the top of the scene. This success was confirmed in 2016, when her songs made it into the Billboard Hot 100. In 2017-2018, the young artist set off on The Self-Titled Tour, and could also be caught performing as the supporting act for Bruno Mars and Coldplay. On the back of her success, Dua Lipa was nominated in five categories at the 2017 Brit Awards, becoming the first British singer to receive so many nominations in a single year. Dua Lipa’s rise continues, as do her collaborations with other artists. In 2019, Dua Lipa released “Don’t Start Now” and “Future Nostalgia”, the first singles from her second album, Future Nostalgia, released in 2020.

Her career has gone supernova in recent years. In March 2022, Lipa’s hit “Levitating” logged a 70th week on the  Billboard Hot 100 , in doing so rewriting the record for the most weeks ever spent on the survey for a song by a woman. Among all acts, “Levitating” is just the fifth single to spend at least 70 weeks on the Hot 100, dating to the chart’s August 1958 inception.

Earlier, in 2021,”Levitating” was named the top Hot 100 song for the year in the United States, and its parent album, Future Nostalgia , logged four weeks at No. 1 in the U.K., before scooping British album of the year at the BRITs.

ESNS presented Lipa with the award during her keynote interview for Eurosonic Noorderslag 2023 in Groningen, the Netherlands, at which she discussed the release of her sophomore album during the pandemic, the successful world tour in support of it, and the Lipas’ Sunny Hill Festival in the Kosovo capital, Prishtina which was shortlisted for the European Festival Awards and which they hope will put the country on the cultural map, and raise much-needed funds to develop the nation’s arts and cultural sector. Just last year, she was named honorary ambassador to Kosovo.

Lipa first performed at ESNS at Vera in 2016, and the following year won the European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA), now called the Music Moves Europe Awards (MMEA). Also in 2016, she won for newcomer of the year at the European Festival Awards.

Dua Lipa Concert

After what we’ve all been through in the past two years, every concert feels like a miracle, but a Dua Lipa show more than most. On the surface it might be easy to underestimate the heavy emotions associated with her “Future Nostalgia” album, which was famously released on March 27, 2020, just as the horrors of the pandemic were becoming clear: It’s a dance-party album that arrived at one of the worst possible times in human history for a dance party album, when there were no parties and the only dancing was done on our own.

Yet instead of striking a sour note or seeming like a cruel taunt, it was many people’s escape, their comfort food, their crying blanket — a reminder not only of what we couldn’t have, but what we longed to get back as everyone wondered, without exaggeration, when or even if we’d ever be at a concert or on a crowded dancefloor again. The album came to symbolize what we’d do again once we could — dress up, dance, flirt, sing along with strangers to shared favorite songs, enjoy the closeness of other humans while celebrating the freedom that the album’s songs came to symbolize.

And on Tuesday night at New York’s Madison Square Garden, almost exactly on the two-year anniversary of the pandemic’s beginning — as Russian missiles fell on Ukraine and the president delivered his State of the Union address to a deeply divided country — the sold-out crowd shut everything else out, because that moment was finally here.

Popular on Variety

Make no mistake, it was a moment : every major concert at Madison Square Garden feels like the center of the universe, and the crowd, an equal mix of teens and adults basically channeling their teens, was dressed to the nines — the boots alone would have made a killer photo spread in Footwear News — and ready to party. A telling sign of this took place, oddly enough, in a men’s room just minutes before Lipa went on: We allowed a deeply agitated man waiting behind us to jump the line, thinking the cause of his distress was biological in nature. But instead, as he rushed by, he said, “Thank you! Can’t miss any Dua!”

Some two years in the making, the show lives up to the moment. It’s a real pop-diva arena concert, with flashes of past Madonna, Beyonce, Katy Perry and especially Lady Gaga tours — there’s a giant video screen, lasers, a catwalk into the crowd, a confetti cannon, Dua levitating over the audience in a platform suspended from the ceiling (you’ll never guess for which song), and most importantly of all, a gang of incredible dancers who are both scenery and frontline, architecture and crowd-motivators, an infectious and effusive supporting cast who work every corner of the stage. Dancing has never been Dua’s greatest strength so the show’s design wisely makes her the strutting, statuesque center — emphasizing her real power points, her voice and presence — while the dancers orbit around her in an ever-morphing, multi-limbed swarm that’s both exhilarating and exhausting to watch. The choreography, led by Charm La’Donna (who’s also done great work for Rosalia, Selena Gomez and Kendrick Lamar), is truly next level.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jem Aswad (@jemaswad)

The 80-odd-minute show is essentially divided into chapters that are themed by Dua’s four costume changes — a fluorescent yellow-green bodysuit, a silver-glitter number with matching boots, a black bodysuit with pink tights and black sneakers, and finally a skin-tight, semi-sheer Cher-like outfit. They’re broken up by unobtrusive, 3-4-minute dramatic pauses or spotlight performances by the dancers or the ace band led by musical director William Bowerman (which, unlike many pop shows, were actually audible over the frequent backing tapes).

The show is similarly well-paced musically, dishing out the hits at strategic moments and compensating for her relatively shallow catalog — just two albums, after all, and a handful of stray singles and features — by padding out the set with interludes, the above-mentioned spotlights and “Cold Heart,” her duet medley with Elton John. That bonding moment saw Dua and the singers seated together on the stage, singing together with Elton, who appeared pre-recorded on a video screen (funny enough, he was in Brooklyn that night, playing a date rescheduled from April 2020, and played the song with a video of Dua singing her part). There was also a surprise guest appearance from Belgian singer Angele, who came out to perform their duet “Fever,” and even a brief ’60s-style cartoon segment on the video screen where Dua was somehow in undersea peril and a giant fake lobster emerged onstage for “We’re Good” (sorry, can’t be bothered to go down the rabbit hole for the significance of that). It was a show filled with eye and ear candy with many Instagrammable moments, and the enraptured crowd took advantage — hundreds of phones were aloft even during the quieter moments. (Spoiler alert: The setlist is printed below.)

The two opening acts, Lolo Zaoui and Caroline Polachek, both had a decent crowd and well-received sets. Zaoui’s more straightforward pop had a pep and directness that translated well into an arena setting, and although the nuances of former Chairlift lead singer Polachek’s more cerebral strain of pop — she’s made some of the most innovative mainstream pop of the past couple of years, more in line with Charli XCX and Robyn than Lipa — were sometimes lost in the cavernous venue. However, that wasn’t from a lack of effort on her part: Her willoooowwy, floowwwwing arms gestures got a bit overbearing, although that may have been because one of the audience members inspired enough to emulate them was seated next to us. Be that as it may, an impressive number of her hometown audience knew the songs and sang loudly along — particularly with the set-closer, “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings.”

But there’s no question it was Dua’s night, and she delivered — this tour, and this moment, will be a challenge to top, but we’re looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next … which hopefully won’t have another extinction-level event to add emotional heft.

Dua Lipa performs surprise duet with Chris Stapleton at ACM Awards

Dua Lipa performed a surprise duet with Chris Stapleton at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards, which were held inside the Ford Center at The Star in Friso, TX on Thursday.

The 28-year-old pop star revealed it was her idea to work with the 46-year-old country crooner, and they sang his 2023 song Think I'm in Love with You onstage the 12K-seat stadium.

'Perhaps we needed time to listen to our hearts,' Dua belted.

'And there you are. We've come so far together. You are the power over me. You are the light I wanna see.'

A source told Billboard on Thursday that the musical duo 'are planning to release the collaboration together this Friday.'

Lipa showcased her slim 5ft8in figure wearing a navy-blue fishnet-style frock featuring a halter neckline and matching pumps selected by stylist Jahleel Weaver.

The three-time Grammy winner wore her burgundy-hued locks in a middle-parted updo and had a fully-contoured complexion for the awards ceremony.

After the song, Dua gave Chris a big hug as the audience went wild.

Lipa and Stapleton might seem like an unlikely pair, but they excitedly chatted together backstage.

'Well, we really got together, like, two days ago to rehearse for this, but we've been talking about this for a little while,' the British-Albanian belter told ACM Awards correspondent Bobby Bones .

'It was my idea! I'm such a fan of Chris, and I kind of just reached out and was like, "Hey, you want to do something together?" And this came about.'

Dua added: 'I feel so lucky to have been in Chris and [his wife] Morgane's orbit for a few days to just, like, dive into the the musicality of everything has just been wonderful.'

At that, the 10-time Grammy winner - who comes from a family of coal miners - dubbed Lipa 'the queen of feel good music.'

Chris triumphantly took home three ACM trophies - male artist of the year, artist-songwriter of the year, and album of the year for this fifth record Higher.

During commercial breaks, the Illusion hitmaker got to mingle with folks like Brittany Aldean, the wife of five-time Grammy nominee Jason Aldean.

Earlier on the beige carpet, Dua rubbed elbows with two-time Grammy nominee Jelly Roll and Grammy winner Lainey Wilson, who won music event of the year for their duet Save Me.

Lipa - who gets 78.1M monthly listeners on Spotify -looked elegant in a sheer black beaded seashell tank top with a matching silk maxi-skirt and peep-toe heels.

On Monday, the Argylle actress - who boasts 149.8M social media followers - went Instagram official with her boyfriend Callum Turner without showing his face or tagging him.

Dua and the 34-year-old Englishman - who hung out in London last Friday - have been going strong ever since their first sighting at the January 10th afterparty for the LA premiere of his Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air.

Lipa - who previously dated music video director Romain Gavras and Oswald frontman Anwar Hadid - is scheduled to kick off her 12-date European Radical Optimism Tour on June 5 at Germany's Waldbühne in Berlin.

Dua Lipa Wore A Bra As A Shirt For The 2024 Met Gala After-Party

For the second year in a row.

Dua Lipa at the 2024 Met Gala: "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" held at The Metropolitan Mus...

Dua Lipa’s status as a fashion fixture has been cemented for quite some time now. Alongside longtime stylist Lorenzo Posocco, the singer has consistently churned out memorable looks since her European debut in 2015. As a result, she’s become one of the most anticipated arrivals of any red carpet, but particularly the Met Gala.

Falling in line with this year’s “Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, Lipa went for a dark boudoir approach for the main event. Saying true to the look, she extended the same aesthetic to her afters ensemble — and turned out one of the best looks of the night.

Dua Lipa’s Rhinestone Bra

On Monday night, Dua Lip arrived to the post-gala party at New York City hotspot Hearsay. The party’s host, she wore a custom Marc Jacobs bra top ( a styling choice she also utilized in 2023 ) that was fully embellished with rhinestones. Lipa paired the statement piece with belted trousers to balance the otherwise scandalous ensemble.

Her Showgirl Accessories

Even with her dazzling disco bra, Lipa’s show-stopping accompaniments were the star of the proverbial show. She fully committed to the boudoir theme with net, elbow-length gloves and a marled furry stole that replaced the boa she touted on the Met steps.

Styled by the latest addition to her team, Jahleel Weaver , the stylist cites Marc Jacob’s Fall/Winter ’94 collection as the touchstone of inspiration for the look. Replicating the archival outfit to a tee, Weaver completed the look with the same veiled, star-detailed hat from the original runway look.

“Reawakening Fashion,” indeed.

Dua Lipa’s New Album Is Nonstop Ear Candy

Our music critic reviews “radical optimism.”.

Produced by Sara Curtis

Edited by Tina Antolini

Engineered by Sophia Lanman

Featuring Jon Pareles

Dua Lipa just released her third studio album, “Radical Optimism.” While Lipa’s earlier releases sometimes tackled powerlessness and sexism, this one sticks entirely to romance.

Built for the dance floor, “Radical Optimism” harks back to 20th-century pop with meticulously crafted songs and huge electronic sounds. Our chief pop music critic, Jon Pareles, says that for all the production effort involved in creating this music, Lipa “makes the whole album sound like fun, not work.”

Radical Optimism

11 SONGS • 36 MINUTES • MAY 03 2024

  • DETAILS DETAILS

English-Albanian pop superstar, model, and social advocate Dua Lipa showcases an effortless vibe and a knack for catchy pop with soulful grit, delivering her chart-topping hits with a sly wink and smile. After a steady rise in the U.K., she broke onto the international charts with a series of cross-genre collaborations, as well as multi-platinum singles "New Rules" and "IDGAF" from her 2017 debut, Dua Lipa. Riding high from her breakthrough, she won 2019 Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for her collaboration with Silk City, "Electricity." She hit new heights in 2020 when her chart-topping, Grammy-winning sophomore set, the club-inspired Future Nostalgia, shot her into the pop stratosphere, leading to more high-profile collaborations, a massive tour, and a lifestyle newsletter/podcast. She followed in 2024 with the Kevin Parker-produced Radical Optimism.

Born and raised in London to Kosovar-Albanian parents, Lipa attended the Sylvia Young Theater School (Rita Ora, Amy Winehouse) until the age of 13, when she relocated to Kosovo with her family. However, the move wouldn't last very long, and she was back in London by age 15, living on her own and pursuing a singing career. Her first demos were released in 2012, attracting the attention of Lana Del Rey's management team, who signed her and linked her up with Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, Bruno Mars). Lipa's shimmery debut single, "New Love," was followed by the soulful "Be the One." Long-listed for the prestigious BBC's Sound of 2016, she released "Hotter Than Hell" and "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)" in 2016, coinciding with a tour throughout the spring and summer. While "Hotter Than Hell" went on to break into the Top 20 in the U.K., in 2017 Lipa earned the distinction of having three simultaneously charting singles in the U.K. Top 15 with "Be the One," "Scared to Be Lonely" with Martin Garrix, and "No Lie" with Sean Paul.

Dua Lipa, her debut full-length, arrived that summer. In addition to her previously released singles, the album included "Lost in Your Light" (a duet with Miguel) and "Homesick" (with Coldplay's Chris Martin). Since a handful of singles had already been in international rotation since 2015, the album's revived international promotional effort focused on the single "New Rules," which became another multi-platinum hit, not only rising into the Top Ten on the Billboard Hot 100 but also landing on European and Australian Top Ten lists. Eighth album single "IDGAF" followed in 2018, extending her chart presence. That summer, she teamed with Calvin Harris for the '90s club-inspired "One Kiss," which helped land Lipa another number one. Closing out the whirlwind success of this breakthrough era, she collected all these collaborative singles and bundled them with the deluxe version of her debut album as Dua Lipa: Complete Edition, which was promoted with the single "Kiss and Make Up" with K-pop girl group BlackPink.

In early 2019, Lipa won Best New Artist at the 61st Grammy Awards, also taking the prize for Best Dance Recording for "Electricity," her collaborative hit single with Diplo and Mark Ronson's Silk City project. By January 2020, she had released two songs, "Don't Start Now" and "Physical," as the leadoff tracks to her sophomore full-length album, Future Nostalgia. The funky set arrived a week earlier than expected that March, a gift to fans quarantined at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finding inspiration from OutKast, Prince, Gwen Stefani, and INXS, the effort focused on dancefloor-friendly fare, drawing upon '70s disco, '80s pop, and '90s club music. The critically acclaimed LP was short-listed for the 2020 Mercury Prize and reached number one in the U.K., Australia, and across Europe. Later that summer, Lipa recruited electronic artist the Blessed Madonna for a remix album dubbed Club Future Nostalgia. Playing like a DJ-styled mixtape, the reimagining featured guests Madonna, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Yaeji, and Blackpink. The Future Nostalgia era was further extended into 2021 with the deluxe repackaging dubbed The Moonlight Edition, which included lead single "We're Good" as well as collaborative tracks with Belgian singer Angele ("Fever"), Miley Cyrus ("Prisoner"), JID ("Not My Problem"), DaBaby ("Levitating" remix), and J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Tainy ("Un Dia"). Capping this triumphant period, Lipa took home her third Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.

In addition to launching a weekly lifestyle newsletter and podcast, she kept busy with a hit collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, "Sweetest Pie," and a feature on Calvin Harris' Funk Wav Bounces, Vol. 2 titled "Potion." In 2023, her track "Dance the Night," produced by Mark Ronson, was released as the lead single of the soundtrack to the Barbie movie. In November, Lipa delivered her next single, the platinum-certified "Houdini," on the same day that "Dance the Night" was nominated for a Grammy Award. With "Illusion" scoring her a third Top 10 designation, she released her third official full-length Radical Optimism in May 2024. Inspired by psychedelia, Britpop, rave, and trip-hop, the album was produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
